President Trump is About to get Everything he Wants in Iraq

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Go ahead, twist Trump’s arm. – The Associated Press reports today that Iraq’s prime minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, has formally asked the Trump Administration to begin making preparations for withdrawal of U.S. troops from that country.

From the AP story:

The request came in a telephone call Thursday night between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, a statement from his office said. He also told Pompeo that recent U.S. strikes in Iraq were an unacceptable breach of Iraqi sovereignty and a violation of the two countries’ security agreements.

He asked Pompeo to “send delegates to Iraq to prepare a mechanism to carry out the parliament’s resolution regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq,” according to the statement.

“The prime minister said American forces had entered Iraq and drones are flying in its airspace without permission from Iraqi authorities, and this was a violation of the bilateral agreements,” the statement added.

The Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt U.S. news media will no doubt attempt to portray this as some sort of blow to the Trump Administration for the simple fact that none of them have ever made any effort to really understand the President’s actual goals related to Iraq and the Middle East in general.

One more time for anyone who is still not clear on this: One of the main reasons why Donald Trump won the 2016 election was his promise – his repeated, unambiguous promise – to get the U.S. military presence out of all the various Middle East and North African conflicts into which his two immediate predecessors had entangled our country. This President – unlike those two predecessors in office – is a man who is focused on keeping his promises.

This really is not complicated at all.

So, while all the Usual Suspect warmongers in congress like Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio will scream bloody murder, along with some of the President’s top advisors, President Trump will very likely be quite pleased to grant Abdul-Mahdi’s request. The Democrats and corrupt news media who have been blasting the President as a warmonger over his completely justified killing of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani will then turn on a dime and blast him for being naive and rash in deciding to end the U.S.’s 17-year military engagement in Iraq.

At the end of the day, the President stands to achieve every one of his goals related to both Iraq and Iran in just a couple of short weeks, and also to set the stage for a full withdrawal of U.S. military personnel from America’s 18-year engagement in Afghanistan and 5-year engagement in Syria.

This is what Donald Trump was elected to do. It’s amazing how utterly incapable his opponents and critics are of learning that simple reality.

That is all.

All in advance of the reelection campaign. That was the plan.

No more training for the Iraqi military by the US; harder sanctions than are on Iran; reparations for the cost of the embassy (which should be closed anyway, since the Iraqis did NOTHING to protect it against their Insanian terror-butt-buddies.)

Amen!!! Seems like they always wind up going off & shooting our personnel.

Funny. I used to be the biggest hawk around.

George W Bush cured me of that.

        Yeah, me too.

Yes, the Dems will pillory him for this. No, they won’t campaign on a promise to send troops back.

That YouTube link obviously didn’t embed properly. Just a minor Looney Toons reference. Best to quit now before making things worse.

We should have armed the Kurds.

Not to worry. They will all have their hand full dealing with the Turks (Erdogan wants control of northern Iraq (Kurdistan), Sunnis and Shiites will continue their off again-on again religious war, Iraq will tire of being under Iran’s boot, ISIS will seek to return (we will need to slap them down with stand off weapons if they threaten us outside of their sand box) and the same goes for al Qaeda.

I don’t think we should go back, once we leave, under ANY circumstances. The fact that Iraq didn’t help a bit to defend our embassy is embarrassing, to say the least, and there’s no one in Syria to care about, except the Christians – and I’d be happy to have them move here. Just the Christians.

When Yipyip Errordog of Turkiye tells his colonists in Europe to start the war, I wouldn’t even want to go to Europe to save them – except a few Eastern European nations who remain Christian. Most of Europe is lost. Fuggem.

I would simply tell the Iraqi “leadership” fine, were outta here, but leave them with this thought:

In 1990 Saddam invaded Kuwait and we Kicked Your A** in like 4 weeks. Strike One.

In 2003 Saddam refused to allow proper UN and other international weapons inspectors to inspect your country for WMDs. We came back and Kicked Your A** and removed Saddam in like ten weeks. Strike Two.

Then we stupidly and generously tried to help set your country up on a pathway to prosperity and to get it to become self-sufficient, independent and join the world of civilized nations. After 17 years of “training” your “security” forces and rebuilding your infrastructure you can’t even be relied upon to protect OUR embassy. Now you want us gone; Fine, have at it. But heed this:

If we have to come back for any reason, it won’t as a benefactor, and it won’t entail putting 100,000 boots on the ground to pacify and babysit your diverse factions. It will be to absolutely OBLITERATE you, your power, and your culture. If you harbor terrorists, or allow your country to become a satellite of Iran, or any other enemy of the US, and harm comes to America through your tacit support, or neglect, Strike Three will occur…

So beware, get your act together and become a real country and join the civilized world of the 21st century.

      That works, too!
