Mitt Romney’s Plan for Becoming the 2020 GOP Nominee is on Schedule

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The short attention span in today’s U.S. society never ceases to amaze. – No one should be surprised – although many seem to be – about RINO skunk Mitt Romney’s support of the Democrats’ impeachment effort against President Donald Trump. This opportunity is, after all, the very reason why Romney decided to run for that Utah senate seat at the urging of Bill Kristol and the NeverTrump Nitwit Army, which currently consists of about 15 people and Kristol’s pet cat, Mr. Bigglesworth. Perhaps we should call it the NeverTrump Nitwit Squad instead.

But I digress. It is important for everyone to remember how and why Romney was recruited to run for this seat in the first place, and the motives behind it. He joined the race at a point in time when things looked bleak – at least on the surface, which is the only place these shallow people are capable of observing – for President Trump. Remember that early in 2018 the conventional “wisdom” inside the Beltway was that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had Trump dead to rights, and his ultimate report would provide a devastating “roadmap to impeachment” for the Democrats, who were on their way to winning a majority in the House of Representatives.

Romney was recruited during that time by the NeverTrump Nitwit Squad to win a spot in the GOP-dominated U.S. Senate. From that position, Romney could then work behind the scenes to recruit other RINOs in the caucus to ultimately support removing the President from office when the House sends over its Articles of Impeachment. Once Trump had been successfully removed, Romney would then be in a prime position as a sitting senator and former GOP reliable loser presidential nominee, to become the white knight to take up the GOP’s presidential nomination and reliably lose a second time.

Make no mistake about this: The NeverTrumpers do not want a Republican president in office, and if they must be saddled with a Republican POTUS, they simply must have a reliable DC establishment hack like Romney sitting behind the Resolute Desk. These people have always been a bunch of squeamish, haughty losers who prefer to be in the minority.

From that position, they can sit back and cling to their ideological purity, and never have to worry about actually doing what it takes to win on issues. These people are pantywaists at heart and have no stomach for fighting a real political fight on behalf of any segment of the American people.

All of which explains the real reason why they so detest Trump: Because he fights. He fights with every means he has at his disposal on behalf of the American people. Even worse in the eyes of the Kristols of the world, in the process of fighting, Trump exposes the DC political hacks and nest featherers. That strikes far too close to home for the NeverTrump Nitwit Squad and makes Mr. Bigglesworth nervous.

They are right now absolutely enraged at Trump for exposing Joe Biden and his ne’er-do-well son Hunter’s efforts to feather their own nests while Biden served as VEEP. Why? Because these NeverTrumpers all aspire to become parties to such schemes, not to expose them. That’s the DC Insider way of life, after all.

So, what we are seeing play out  right now before our very eyes is in fact the NeverTrump plan, the very reason why Mitt Romney was recruited to run for the Senate in the first place. This plan has been blatantly transparent since the day of its conception.

Anyone who is surprised in any way by Romney’s mendacity just hasn’t been paying attention.

That is all.

[Clarification: Because so many have asked, I thought it important that I clarify that I do not believe the NeverTrump/Romney plan will be successful. Much to the contrary: I believe it will fail and fail spectacularly as Donald Trump becomes the nominee and wins a resounding re-election victory, most likely over Fauxcahontas, as I wrote this morning. I am just laying out the NeverTrump/Romney plan in this piece, and the fact that Romney is simply in the process of playing it out.

Also, I do not expect Romney to enter the primary race for the presidency. My bet is that he and the NeverTrumpers are coordinating with Pelosi/Schiff/Nadler to draw the impeachment process in the House out until late in the primary season – think next April – before sending it over to the Senate. The Senate process would then take until at least June or even July. Their hope is that Trump is removed by the Senate just weeks before the GOP National Convention, where Romney would become the “savior” of the Party.

Again, not saying it will succeed, just laying out the plan.]

small problem….GOP primary voters hate Romney. How does Romney become the 2020 nominee without their support?

May I guess with the help of many Democrats switching sides? Most of those will vote Trump though, so, yep. You’re 100% right. 🙂

While your plan has merit, it does involve pulling 20 senators into indictment territory, thereby remaining a remote chance (and don’t believe the new reports saying 30 GOP senators would vote to indict if their votes were secret!!). However, Romney is now the titular head of the RINO-progressive faction of the GOP, taking that role from John McCain, and will be Trump’s biggest thorn. I’m guessing he will really stand out in opposition when Amy Barret is nominated for SCOTUS in the next vacancy. After Trump, I’m sure that Romney will be the runaway favorite to taking over for Turtle’s leadership role in the GOP Senate. (I doubt he will run in 2024 against Pence.)

Dear Jonah and everyone else: I am not saying the nevertrump plan is going to work. I am telling you what the plan was when they recruited Romney to run for the senate seat, which is a simple fact of history. Romney is now attempting to make the plan work, but he will miserably fail.

Jonah, I like your comments, but the senate does not indict, It tries and convicts if a 2/3rd (67) majority votes guilty of the charges brought forth from the house impeachment which is actually the indictment. The house selects managers to bring the case forward to the senate and the chief justice of the supreme court presides.

The real sad fact is that so few Americans actually know what impeachment is; many think that impeachment means automatic removal from office and that Hillary will then be the president.

Reread your Constitution. Article I, Section 3, paragraph 6: “The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments…..And no Person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of the Members PRESENT” That could be as few as TWO Senators! ARTICLE II, Sec. 2 also requires only “two-thirds of the Senators PRESENT” to ratify a treaty. See Art Thompson’s book, “International Merger by Foreign Entanglements”, , page 126, to learn how three Senators, Ted Stevens, Jay Rockefeller and George Mitchell, constituting “two-thirds of the Senators PRESENT” did actually ratify the UN’s International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in 1992. So, this provision of our Constitution has already been used at least once. Your acceptance of the “fact” that it would take 67 Senators to impeach is incorrect!

I appreciate your clarification of the 2/3rds majority required for conviction and removal.

But from a practical perspective, there is no way anything other than a full senate (maybe one or two senators missing to campaign for president, sickness or death) will convene and vote to remove a sitting president.

It would take 30 or so feckless republicans sit out the trial to some how give the Dems a 47 – 23 (2/3rd) majority. If that were to happen then the GOP will be destroyed and open civil war would probably erupt.

The Constitution requires the house to vote in favor of an impeachment inquiry. Pelosi did not hold the vote. McConnell will never bring the issue to the floor of the Senate.

There are only two voted for POTUS I regret casting; used to be one (McLame.) The other is Mitt Romney. I bought into the “your guy is worse than our guy” BS.)

I’m thinking, after Trump’s 45 + state victory, that a movement to recall Romney will begin.

Hello, I’m a Utah resident more than disgusted with Romney, I saw right through him the moment he ran for the Senate. Of course I did not vote for Romney, but likewise I would not vote for the Democrat so the effect of my vote was null. It seems the most to best alternative to pursue for actual affect is to recall Romney. Is there a recall petition under way? If there is how do I join it? If there isn’t how do we start it?

Can she have no influence on her uncle for the good of the party and the country? It is amazing how “independent” GOP politicians are, yet for the most part, the Dems will go off the cliff like lemmings if their vote is needed. Example: Obamacare

Ronna started putting distance between herself and Uncle Mitt way back when Mitt called Trump a fraud. From all appearances, Ronna fully supports Trumps agenda.

Alonzo, you’re correct. (Broadly speaking, Ronna & I are “neighbors”–both of us live in Oakland Co Michigan). She is a Trump gal, through and through. Pray that she doesn’t twist & flip ♥

No, the real reason is based on a prophesy by the LDS founding leader, Joseph Smith. He predicted a time in a America where the constitution will hang by a thread. A member of the LDS church will become president and restore the constitution and all its rights by basically handing the administration of the government over to members of the LDS church. I will not comment on that any further, but ask any life long LDS church member and they will confirm the same. The problem with Romney is he views himself as entitled to “fulfill” this not understanding the reason why David slayed Goliath was because David was a vessel God could work through. Despite Mormonism, God can work through anyone when truth is their weapon (please see Trump). If Mitt were for God, would he be such a stumbling block to this president who is obviously doing the will of the people? How can he use the constitution to destroy a duly elected president who has, by legal means, reversed the fortunes of this country from the previous 20 years and then be the constitution’s greatest advocate all in the same stroke? Romney is as envious and blind as Saul was of David and will do whatever it takes to fulfill his ego. God normally picks unlikely people to do His work. It’s only the corrupt who can’t understand this.

Romney has always believed that he is to be the Savior of this country. But he has become a traitor to this nation and Constitution. His weak, jealous mindset set him on the path of dining with George Soros, wants power to fulfill his Daddy’s failures. He is not honest, has no integrity and thru Hatch’s political machine and his wealthy associates and friends carpetbagged his way into Utah and Senate seat. Mormons have seen through him since 2012. He has ties to the Ukraine/Biden affair as his former national security advisor for his 2012 campaign sits on the board of Directors of Burisma. Utah politics is as corrupt as anywhere else and Romney is right in the middle of it. Hope Trump smacks him and his anti-Trump nit-wit squad down hard.

I’m beginning to wonder if we will make it to the 2020 elections. At the rate at which the Democrats and media are disappearing into a black hole of irrational hyperpartisanship, basic civic mechanisms may start coming undone.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

      Trust the plan.

Think of it this way: could any of us imagine that Biden would be hung by his own short hairs (plucked from his son, no less?) Can any of us imagine that thousands of human traffickers/ped-dealers and Jeffrey Epstein would be either dead or incarcerated? I’ll leave it at this:

The bigger the fish, the more line you have to let out, and the longer the fight. Many of the bigger fish will be dead from exhaustion or shark predation by the time they reach the boat. Some, like Cankles, will find themselves having a date with a set of steps (accidental or otherwise.)

Traps like Ukraine are being set all over, and as long as the Dems/press keep rushing forward, they’ll keep stepping into those traps. These people are stupid.

Military studies of leadership learned that an effective leader cannot be more than fifteen IQ points above his team. Dimocrat politicians represent populations of IQ 60. Think Elijah Cummings, Occasional Cortex, and Maxine Waters.

The Romneys wrap themselves in the American FLAG but never wrap themselves in an American UNIFORM.
“patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel”
    (1) Great Grandpa Romney ran to Mexico to dodge American polygamy laws
    (2) Grandpa Romney FLIP-FLOPPED back to America when Mexico got dangerous.
    (3) Daddy Romney NEVER SERVED through WWII and Korea.
    (4) MITTENS Romney used “missionary” deferments to DODGE the Viet Nam draft.
    (5) FIVE sons, and NOT ONE ever wore an AMERICAN UNIFORM.
FIVE GENERATIONS, NINE “males”, and NOT ONE actually loved America enough to serve this Nation. The only thing “conservative” about the Romney Family is conserving THEIR OWN BEHINDS.
They hide their money OUTSIDE this country ….so they are always ready for a quick get-away just like Grandpaw did when he ran to Mexico..
No Romney ever comes back missing a limb, in a box, or with PTSD …….. because no Romney ever SERVES.
The Romneys love war …… because they get RICH but they never ever get HURT.
Mitt the carpetbagger Romney, has a despicable penchant for buying up companies, firing all the employees and selling the assets. He is a pure scumbag. So if Romney is a “Good Mormon”? then what is a bad Mormon?

Romney, a legend in his own mind. Representing the out of touch elites and their interests, doesn’t have the slightest clue about the Constitution, what America needs or wants, nor does he care. Only thing he cares about is adding POTUS to his resume’. DjT 2020 all the way!!!!

Just as Romney will never become a god of his own universe populating it with “spirit children” as his false religious cult taught him, this strange open border anti-American non-reciprocal trade traitor will never be president either. All he will receive from us “forgotten Americans” is the middle finger. Our vote goes to Donald J. Trump for president and no one else come whatever may. Period.

Mittens Romney got the Mormon vote in Utah because… well, he’s Mormon. Nationally, he couldn’t make the grade the first time around as the GOP nominee. We GOP voters outside of Utah now even more clearly see him for the RINO he is. He never, under any projected circumstance, ever again will get the GOP nomination. He should just move on over the the Democrat party and end the misery. Romney = loser. Loser with a huge L lurking in the middle of his forehead.
