That Time Joe Biden Made Perfect Sense About Our Border Crisis

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Watch Joe Biden actually talk good sense about the illegal immigration crisis at our Southern border. – Ok, it’s an old video clip from 2006 meeting of the Columbia, SC Rotary Club – you know, about five years before the Democrat Party made a conscious decision to discard the support of organized labor in favor of open borders and striving to get millions of illegals registered to vote.

But still, when he was cranking up his failed race for the presidency in 2008, the man made all kinds of perfect sense when discussing the major, overriding issue of our time. Here’s the clip (transcript follows below).:

For those of you who still like to read stuff, I have personally performed the tremendous public service of sacrificing 10 whole minutes of my busy Saturday to fully transcribe Creeply Ol’ Joe’s remarks, verbatim, except for a few seconds here and there when he was mumbling and couldn’t be heard clearly:

Transcript:

[Mexico is] one of the wealthiest countries in the Western Hemisphere! And because of a corrupt system that exists in Mexico, there is the 1% of the population at the top, a very small middle class, and the rest is abject poverty.

Folks, I voted for a fence. I voted, unlike most Democrats, and some of you won’t like me, I voted for a 700-mile fence. But let me tell you: We can build those things 40 stories high, but unless we change the dynamics in Mexico, and in – you will not like this – AND punish American employers who knowingly violate the law when in fact they hire illegals, unless you do those two things, all the rest is window dressing.

Now I know we’re not supposed to say it that bluntly, but they’re the facts. They’re the facts.

And so everything else we do is in between here. Everything else we do is at the margins.

The reason why I believe the fence is needed is not because of immigration as much as drugs. I’m the guy that wrote the National Crime Bill, I’m the guy that wrote the national drug trafficking…I’m the guy that wrote the law that set up the Drug Czar.

Let me tell you something, folks. People are driving across that border with tons, tons – hear me, TONS of everything from bi-products of methamphetamine to cocaine to heroin. And it’s all coming up through corrupt Mexico.

So I’d have ‘em all, have ‘em all as they say in the southern part of my state, I’d have ‘em all [unintelligible] at the border. I’d have a little ‘come to the lord’ meeting – you think I’m joking, I’m not joking – maybe you know about me, I’ve been doing this a long time.

I’ve known every single world leader in every country for the past 40 years, and I know a lot of ‘em well. [unintelligible] I’ve been a sen… there’s only 4 senators that’ve served longer than me in the United States Senate. [unintelligible, everyone laughs]

We gotta level with these folks. Don’t tell me, don’t tell me in Mexico you expect to get the same kind of treatment that we give other democracies, and then you don’t act in a democratic way.

Not on my watch. Not on my watch.

[End]

Here’s the utter, abject shame of this: That is Joe Biden saying what he really thinks about illegal immigration and the threat it poses to our country. But, while serving as the Vice President for America’s Worst Mistake, Barack Hussein Obama, he discarded the ability to say what he really thinks in favor of buying into Obama’s program to “transform our country” into just another third-world sh*thole country.

This clip is really nothing remarkable, other than the fact that is a clip of the guy currently leading the field for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination. Clips just like it exist of Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein and even Barack Obama his own self saying exactly the same things about this issue during that same time period.

But again, sometime around late 2011, early 2012, the Democrat Party as a whole adopted a new strategy. They determined that organized labor – which has always rabidly opposed illegal immigration because it suppresses the wages of American workers – was dying, and that over the long term their party would be able to get far more votes either by the voter fraud of having illegals vote in our elections, or by ultimately providing a national amnesty for them all.

Thus, at that point, the talking points among the Democrats and their toadies in the fake national news media all shifted to promoting open borders and amnesty. The new narrative became that party’s new normal, and Biden, being the corrupt and dishonest fool he truly is, went along with the Obama program.

But today, you now see him memorialized in all his former glory, actually talking good sense for one of the rare times in his long, long, long life.

No need to thank me.

That is all.
