Wednesday News Roundup: Cuomo World is Collapsing…Or Maybe It Isn’t.

Good news, everybody! – The ratings for the Golden Globes awards crashed and burned like never before Sunday evening. The show’s audience fell by more than 60% from last year’s catastrophically low ratings, and attracted fewer viewers than the number who streamed Donald Trump’s CPAC speech on their computers:

Awesome, dudes.

Here’s the Outrage of the Week. – Leftist lunatics in Washington DC have been attempting to poison the thousands of National Guard troops still stationed in the Capital for no legitimate reason at all:

Members of congress have told the media that several Guard personnel have had to be hospitalized after eating under-cooked food and food contaminated with metal shavings.

Just another reminder that the radical left hates you and wants you dead.

Senate Republicans get their poster child. – After weeks of revelations of her activities involving making nasty tweets about members of congress over the past decade, China Joe Potato Head Biden withdrew his nomination of the utterly execrable Neera Tanden to be the head of the Office of Management and Budget.

From the story at the Washington Times:

Neera Tanden, President Biden’s pick to lead the White House budget office, took herself out of the running for the job on Tuesday after it became clear she likely did not have the votes to get confirmed.

The move marks the first high-profile personnel defeat for Mr. Biden as he assembles his Cabinet and comes after the White House repeatedly went to bat for the nominee in recent weeks — even as her confirmation appeared increasingly unlikely.

“I appreciate how hard you and your team at the White House has worked to win my confirmation,” Ms. Tanden said in a letter to Mr. Biden released by the White House. “Unfortunately, it now seems clear that there is no path forward to gain confirmation, and I do not want continued consideration of my nomination to be a distraction from your other priorities.”

“I have the utmost respect for her record of accomplishment, her experience and her counsel, and I look forward to having her serve in a role in my administration,” the president said. “She will bring valuable perspective and insight to our work.”

[End]

Ok, so, Biden will now just create a new White House “czar” position just for Tanden, who happens to be the President of the far-leftwing Center for American Progress. He will do that because her appointment is nothing more than a payoff to CAP for all the money it pours into Democrat Party coffers every year.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell and his fellow Senate RINOs can now walk around bragging how tough they’ve been on Biden’s nominees and have Tanden as their poster child to point to when people like you and me point out the fact that they’ve just rolled over and played dead for pretty much all of Biden’s extreme radical appointees. This is as predictable as the sun rising in the East, since it is the standard operating procedure senate RINOs follow at the outset of every new Democrat presidential administration.

Tanden is this administration’s sacrificial lamb, and that may well have been her intended role all along. To quote the late George Carlin, “It’s all a big club, folks, and you ain’t in it.”

Cuomo World Keeps Imploding…or is it? – Things seemingly just keep getting worse and worse for elderly-killing, sexual harassing, serial bullying New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Tuesday may have been his worst day yet.

First, a third accuser came out of the woodwork to accuse Don Cuomo of an act of sexual harassment. Importantly, the initial report was again filed by the New York Times, whose editorial board has decided to be the media lynchpin for hounding him out of office.

I mean, it’s almost as if Cuomo has suddenly become a Republican or something.

Here’s an excerpt from the New York Times story:

Anna Ruch had never met Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo before encountering him at a crowded New York City wedding reception in September 2019. Her first impression was positive enough.

The governor was working the room after toasting the newlyweds, and when he came upon Ms. Ruch, now 33, she thanked him for his kind words about her friends. But what happened next instantly unsettled her: Mr. Cuomo put his hand on Ms. Ruch’s bare lower back, she said in an interview on Monday.

When she removed his hand with her own, Ms. Ruch recalled, the governor remarked that she seemed “aggressive” and placed his hands on her cheeks. He asked if he could kiss her, loudly enough for a friend standing nearby to hear. Ms. Ruch was bewildered by the entreaty, she said, and pulled away as the governor drew closer.

“I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed,” said Ms. Ruch, whose recollection was corroborated by the friend, contemporaneous text messages and photographs from the event. “I turned my head away and didn’t have words in that moment.”

[End]

Can’t wait for Geraldo Rivera to go on Fox and tell us that this is all ok because Cuomo’s a 63 year-old single guy living in Albany, so that gives him the perfect right to put his hands all over a woman he has just met at a public function with hundreds of people looking on. You betcha.

Even better, because the New York Times reported this first, every other corrupt media outlet in America is carrying the story, and all of your mindless liberal friends who just a month ago were telling you Cuomo is their new god are now telling you they’ve always known he was a creep. Because that is what your liberal friends always do when the media narrative changes on a dime, right? Right.

Anyways, it’s all apparently become just too much for Cuomo’s fellow creepy Democrats in Albany to bear, as calls for his resignation and even – gasp! – impeachment are now regularly heard among Democrats in the halls of the state capitol building.

But here’s the catch: being Democrats, they’re naturally looking for a do-nothing, easier way out, one that will allow them to claim to their constituents that they’re “doing something” about Cuomo while really doing next-to-nothing of any real substance. So yesterday, they landed on the half-measure of repealing the Governor’s executive order powers, which would have meant something six months ago when he was destroying thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs, but means very little now that the pandemic is well along the way to playing itself out:

Here’s an excerpt from a story at Sara.A.Carter.com:

Governor Andrew Cuomo is reportedly being stripped of his pandemic emergency powers amid controversy over his handling of COVID-19 in the Empire State, according to NBC New York.

The proposal comes from a number of state legislators.

“I think everyone understands where we were back in March and where we are now. We certainly see the need for a quick response but also want to move toward a system of increased oversight, and review. The public deserves to have checks and balances. Our proposal would create a system with increased input while at the same time ensuring New Yorkers continue to be protected,” Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said in a statement.

Cuomo is currently under a federal investigation for his March 25 executive order mandating that nursing homes take in COVID-19 positive patients, as reported by The Daily Caller. He has denied any wrongdoing and the order was later scrubbed from the New York Health Department website, however.

[End]

So, while the conservative media is all afire this morning with the thought that Cuomo might actually end up being removed from office, this move is actually an elegant political deal designed to allow him to serve out his term, and maybe even run for another one. This not only satisfies the always-burning liberal Democrat need to be seen as “doing something,” it also promotes the public impression that Cuomo has now been “punished” for his misdeeds and will now do better going forward.

That in turn provides the editorial board at the New York Times – whose members most likely decided to actually cover all these scandals because their Upper East Side dinner party pals have been pressing them to do so – with an excuse to go back to ignoring it now that the Governor has had his comeuppance, as it were. Once the Times drops the story, the rest of the corrupt news media will heave a sigh of relief in the knowledge that they can safely drop it as well.

And that in turn would allow Cuomo to go back to behaving exactly as he has always behaved with renewed vigor, safe in the knowledge that his media tormentors will have gone silent yet again. You may all think I’m crazy, but let’s just wait and see how this all plays out.

Don’t shoot me, I’m only the messenger.

That is all.

God Bless Texas: Gov. Abbott Lifts Statewide COVID Restrictions in the Lone Star State

Attaboy, Governor. – Texans and lovers of freedom all over the country are celebrating this morning after Governor Greg Abbott moved to lift his statewide mask order effective next Wednesday, March 10. He also moved to reopen all Texas schools, saying that the state’s Texas Education Agency would be issuing new guidelines shortly. No idea why he decided to wait a week before it becomes effective, but there it is.

Abbott’s new order [see text below] also lifts restrictions on capacity on restaurants, bars, churches and other places that host social gatherings and religious services.

However, the Governor did included two key caveats to his new order:

– Restrictions on capacity limits and mask-wearing can still be imposed by individual businesses; and

– County judges will still be able to impose their own limits in counties defined as “areas of high hospitalizations”, defined as ” any Trauma Service Area that has had seven consecutive days in which the number of COVID-19 hospitalized patients
as a percentage of total hospital capacity exceeds 15 percent, until such time as the Trauma Service Area has seven consecutive days in which the number of COVID-19 hospitalized patients as a percentage of total hospital capacity is 15
percent or less.”

Several abusive Democrat county judges – like Dallas’s Clay Jenkins – immediately announced they will impose their own restrictions, and the sad thing is that we can be sure that Jenkins and his fellow demented Democrats will bully hospital officials to work to artificially inflate their numbers so they can keep them in place long past the time they no longer really meet that threshold.

Importantly, Abbott’s order denies these aspiring tinpot dictators the ability to assess penalties on violators of their clearly unconstitutional edicts, thus denying Jenkins the ability to toss more single-mother salon owners into the county lockup.

You can also bet the Texas news media will continue to do their part to help keep the Coronapanic going, because it has been good for ratings and because they’re all Democrats, too. The coverage of the Governor’s order on local TV here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area was mind-numbingly sensationalistic and absurd. But hey, no one should have expected any other kind of reaction from these sad people.

With this order, Abbott now finally joins Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in sensibly choosing freedom over deprivation, jobs over unemployment and the interests small businesses over those of big-box retailers like Wal-Mart and Target, chains that have thrived during the pandemic restrictions. Abbott’s order also means that the two biggest Red states – the 2nd and 3rd largest by population – will now be open for business, along with other Red states like Iowa and South Dakota, whose Governor Kristi Noem reminded us all of just how late to this game Gov. Abbott really is:

Oh, and we can now also add Mississippi to that list, as GOP Gov. Tate Reeves also moved to return that state back to business:

While there is no doubt that these Democrat county judges and many superintendents and school boards around Texas will continue to do everything they can to keep their restrictions in place, most Texans are going to have a very low tolerance level for those who cling to their brainwashed mindset about the virus. While many will criticize Governor Abbott for being slow to move an perhaps not quite bold enough with his new order, this is without question an extremely impactful move that will make it infinitely more difficult for Democrat officials to keep their own restrictions in place.

We’ve been cowering in fear in our homes for far too long.

God Bless Texas.

Here is the text of Governor Abbott’s order:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, by virtue of the power and
authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and in
accordance with guidance from medical advisors, do hereby order the following on a
statewide basis effective at 12:01 a.m. on March IO, 2021:
1. In all counties not in an area with high hospitalizations as defined below:
a. there are no COVID-19-related operating limits for any business or other
establishment; and
b. individuals are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings over the nose and
mouth wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from
another person not in the same household, but no person may be required by
any jurisdiction to wear or to mandate the wearing of a face covering.
“Area with high hospitalizations” means any Trauma Service Area that has had
seven consecutive days in which the number of COVID-19 hospitalized patients
as a percentage of total hospital capacity exceeds 15 percent, until such time as
the Trauma Service Area has seven consecutive days in which the number of
COVID-19 hospitalized patients as a percentage of total hospital capacity is 15
percent or less. A current list of areas with high hospitalization~ will be
maintained at www.dshs.texas.gov/ga3031.
2. In any county located in an area with high hospitalizations as defined above:
a. there are no state-imposed COVID-19-related operating limits for any
business or other establishment;
b. there is no state-imposed requirement to wear a face covering; and
c. the county judge may use COVID-19-related mitigation strategies; provided,
however. that:
1. business and other establishments may not be required to operate at less
than 50 percent of total occupancy, with no operating limits allowed to be
imposed for religious services (including those conducted in churches,
congregations, and houses of worship), public and private schools and
institutions of higher education, and child-care services;
11. no jurisdiction may impose confinement in jail as a penalty for violating
any order issued in response to COVID-19; and
iii. no jurisdiction may impose a penalty of any kind for failure to wear a face
covering or failure to mandate that customers or employees wear face
coverings, except that a legally authorized official may act to enforce
trespassing laws and remove violators at the request of a business
establishment or other property owner.
3. In providing or obtaining services, every person (including individuals, businesses,
and other legal entities) is strongly encouraged to use good-faith efforts and
available resources to follow the Texas Department of State Health Services
(DSHS) health recommendations, found at www.dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus.
4. Nothing in this executive order precludes businesses or other establishments from
requiring employees or customers to follow additional hygiene measures, including
the wearing of a face covering.
5. Nursing homes, state supported living centers, assisted living facilities, and long
term care facilities should follow guidance from the Texas Health and Human
Services Commission (HHSC) regarding visitations, and should follow infection
control policies and practices set forth by HHSC, including minimizing the
movement of staff between facilities whenever possible.
6. Public schools may operate as provided by, and under the minimum standard health
protocols found in, guidance issued by the Texas Education Agency. Private
schools and institutions of higher education are encouraged to establish similar
standards.
7. County and municipal jails should follow guidance from the Texas Commission on
Jail Standards regarding visitations.
8. Executive Orders GA-17, GA-25, GA-29, and GA-31 are rescinded in their entirety.
9. This executive order shall supersede any conflicting order issued by local officials
in response to the COVID-19 disaster, but only to the extent that such a local order
restricts services allowed by this executive order or allows gatherings restricted by
this executive order. Pursuant to Section 418.0 I 6(a) of the Texas Government
Code, I hereby suspend Sections 418. l 0 I 5(b) and 418. l 08 of the Texas Government
Code, Chapter 81, Subchapter E of the Texas Health and Safety Code, and any other
relevant statutes, to the extent necessary to ensure that local officials do not impose
restrictions in response to the COVID-19 disaster that are inconsistent with this
executive order, provided that local officials may enforce this executive order as
well as local restrictions that are consistent with this executive order.
10. All existing state executive orders relating to COVID-19 are amended to eliminate
confinement in jail as an available penalty for violating the executive orders. To the
extent any order issued by local officials in response to the COVID-19 disaster
would allow confinement in jail as an available penalty for violating a COVID-19-
related order, that order allowing confinement in jail is superseded, and I hereby
suspend all relevant laws to the extent necessary to ensure that local officials do not
confine people in jail for violating any executive order or local order issued in
response to the COVID- 19 disaster.
This executive order supersedes Executive Orders GA- 17, GA-25, GA-29, GA-31, and
GA-32, but does not supersede Executive Orders GA-10 or GA- 13. This executive order
shall remain in effect and in full force unless it is modified, amended, rescinded, or
superseded by the governor. This executive order may also be amended by proclamation
of the governor.

Tuesday News Roundup: Minneapolis Acts to Re-Fund its De-Funded Police and De Blasio Pounds Cuomo

Leftist Genius Update: Re-funding the de-funding of the police. – How bad an idea is the BLM/Antifa/Democrat mantra to “defund the police?” It’s such a bad idea that even the cretins who infest the city council in Minneapolis are regretting it now. Yes, folks: The nitwits who voted to defund that city’s police department last July are now going to spend millions of dollars to hire a bunch of police officers back after violent crime rates very predictably skyrocketed in the wake of their idiotic policy choice:

From a story at the DailyMail:

Minneapolis is planning to spend $6.4million to hire dozens of police officers, at a time when some City Council members and activist groups have been advocating to replace the police department following the death of George Floyd.

The City Council voted unanimously Friday to approve the additional funding that police requested.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, there are only 638 officers available to work, which is roughly 200 fewer than usual.

An unprecedented number of officers quit or went on extended medical leave after Floyd’s death and the unrest that followed, which included the burning of a police precinct.

With new recruit classes, the city anticipates it will have 674 officers available at the end of the year, with another 28 in the hiring process, according to the Star Tribune.

[End]

So, what we have here is mindless leftist policy coming full circle to its logical conclusion, an end result that anyone with a fully functioning brain stem could easily have seen coming. And guess what? This $6.4 million isn’t nearly enough to stem the leftist-caused crime surge, since, as you can see from the parts of the excerpt I bolded, the city will still be 174 officers short of its pre-George Floyd levels at the end of this year.

If you live in Minneapolis but have the wherewithal to get the hell out of there, my only question to you is, why haven’t you already left?

Today’s Geraldo Rivera Really is a Moron Update. – Here’s Geraldo Rivera casually defending the bullying, sexual harassing behavior of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo because, Rivera says, he’s a single guy in his ’60s living in Albany:

It’s like Bill Murray’s Peter Vinkman defending the giant Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man. You just cannot make this stuff up, folks. You really can’t.

Speaking of bullying, sexual harasser, elderly killer Andrew Cuomo… – New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio is also a moron – that appears to be a given for holders of high office in the city, county and state of New York. De Blasio is in fact arguably the very worst mayor in America, although every time I say that, creepy old Lori Lightfoot raises her hand and says “hold my beer.”

This mayor does not play - Chicago Sun-Times

But I digress.

Moron or not, the buffoonish De Blasio does appear to have a clear-eyed view of Gov. Cuomo, and nothing but time on his hands to go on television and talk about it, which he has done repeatedly over the past several weeks. Because, you know, everything’s just great in NY  City these days so he has nothing better to do.

Hooboy.

Yesterday, el Grande Payaso [clown] went on television yet again and threw the Governor under the bus in a huge way:

Here’s an excerpt from the story at Red State:

As I reported last Thursday in an article titled De Blasio Tries to Throw Cuomo Even Farther Under the Bus Than Last Time: ‘Really Disturbing’, after news broke on Cuomo’s first accuser, Lindsey Boylan, who claimed the governor kissed her “on the lips” without warning, following a meeting in his Manhattan office in 2018 and, on an October 2017 flight aboard the official state jet, said to her: “Let’s play strip poker”, Comrade Big Bird de Blasio called Boylan’s accusations “really disturbing.”

“Look, these allegations are really disturbing, let’s be clear about that. When a woman comes forward with this kind of very specific allegation, we have to take it seriously. This kind of behavior, if true, is unacceptable.”

De Blasio went on, of course, doing a damn fine job of throwing Cuomo under the bus as far as he could. At the time, that is. Now, after reading Cuomo’s bizarre Sunday press release, de Blasio is back — and this time he means business. We’re talking way under the bus business. As reported by Fox News, de Blasio went off on Cuomo’s statement during a Monday interview with New York City radio station Hot 97, calling the statement “creepy.”

“It sickened me, it sickened me. The thought of a powerful man trying to take advantage of his power, intimidate a young woman and just the sense that he was treating her like — again these are allegations and we need a full investigation — but if that was what truly happened, it was like he was treating her like she was his property. Just disgusting, creepy.”

“Sexual harassment is not funny,” de Blasio continued. “Who the hell tries to explain that by saying,’I was just joking around’?”

Perhaps most devasting to Cuomo, the mayor then personally incriminated him. “I’ve seen him be abusive in a way that would not be accepted by anyone in leadership,” he said.

Also on Sunday, according to Fox, de Blasio called on the New York state legislature to revoke Cuomo’s emergency powers amid the scandals.

[End]

El Grande Payaso and Cuomo have always had what has been at best a tense relationship, but man, this is out of control. These repeated attacks against and complaints about Cuomo lodged by De Blasio and a succession of fellow Democrats are the only reason why the Democrat activists at the New York Times and other media outlets have begun to pay even a little attention to Cuomo’s abusive behavior.

So by all means, Mayor, keep it up.

All the rest of us are embarrassed that John Brennan’s a white male, too. – In a paid appearance on MSNBC on Monday, the execrable John Brennan said he’s embarrassed to be a white male:

On behalf of white males everywhere, we are all embarrassed to have our skin color associated with such a despicable, un-American scumbag, too.

News You Will Not See on CNN Update. – Four people, including a local Justice of the Peace, were arrested in Hondo, Texas yesterday on charges of rampant voter fraud. To no one’s surprise, they are all Democrats.

Also to no one’s surprise, no one in the national news media is covering the story. And also to no one’s surprise, the fraud scheme focused on … wait for it … mail-in ballots.

Here’s an excerpt from the story at Fox29 in San Antonio:

An area Justice of the Peace has been arrested and accused of election fraud, along with three other people.

Medina County Justice of the Peace Tomas Ramirez was arrested Feb. 11 after a Bandera Grand Jury indicted him and three others two days prior.

Ramirez is facing one count of organized election fraud, one count of assisting voter voting ballot by mail and 17 counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope.

Leonor Rivas Garza, Eva Ann Martinez and Mary Balderrama were also arrested.

Garza is facing one charge of organized election fraud, two counts of illegal voting, eight counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, two counts of election fraud and four counts of fraudulent use of an absentee ballot by mail.

Martinez is facing one count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, 28 counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, three counts of purportedly acting as an agent, five counts of tampering with government record, 14 counts of election fraud and four counts of fraudulent mail ballot application.

Meanwhile, Balderrama is facing one count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, two counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, one count of mail ballot application, two counts of unlawfully assisting voter voting by mail, two counts of tampering with government record, eight counts of election fraud.

The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office tells us all charges stem from an Attorney General investigation. We reached out to the AG’s office, but have not yet heard back.

[End]

Voter fraud operations by Democrats focused on absentee/mail-in ballots have been a way of life in South Texas for many, many decades. It was such a voter fraud operation that produced the infamous “Box 13” that ended up putting Lyndon Johnson in the U.S. Senate in 1948, in fact. Anyone who grew up in that region as I did has likely seen such operations in action.

Last year, the whole country got a big ol’ taste of what the results of such schemes look like on a national basis, and it isn’t pretty.

Good for Texas law enforcement officials to try to clean it up. Now, if the rest of the country would do the same…

That is all.

The Global Economy is Rapidly Recovering and CBS News and the UN Are Upset

When the headline gives away the narrative. – There’s bias, and then there’s BIAS, and CBS puts the full all-caps deal into this piece, which was obviously handed to the fake journalist who wrote it by some activist at the Sierra Club or NRDC.

Check out the headline:

Here’s an excerpt from this piece of journalistic malpractice:

Paris — Global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions rose slightly in December compared with the same month of 2019, indicating the sharp drop seen due to the pandemic was short-lived. Figures released Tuesday by the International Energy Agency show emissions from the production and use of oil, gas and coal were 2% higher in December 2020 than a year earlier.

The Paris-based intergovernmental agency said a resurgence in economic activity coupled with a lack of clean energy policies mean many countries are now seeing higher emissions than before the coronavirus pandemic.

“The rebound in global carbon emissions toward the end of last year is a stark warning that not enough is being done to accelerate clean energy transitions worldwide,” said the agency’s executive director, Fatih Birol. “If governments don’t move quickly with the right energy policies, this could put at risk the world’s historic opportunity to make 2019 the definitive peak in global emissions.”

Scientists have previously calculated that CO2 emissions fell by 7% during the full year 2020 as people stayed at home because of the pandemic.

“Our numbers show we are returning to carbon-intensive business-as-usual,” said Birol. “These latest numbers are a sharp reminder of the immense challenge we face in rapidly transforming the global energy system.”

Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming.

[End]

Now, in a sane world – you know, the world we long ago left behind as the climate change pseudo-science evolved into a global religious cult – the real story here would be a joyful one, because what is really being reported in it is the fact that economies all over the world are roaring back from the insane response to COVID-19 that crushed millions of businesses, threw hundreds of millions out of work and tens of millions into abject poverty. Growing economies require a lot of energy and people moving around, and all that energy and people moving around and going back to work produces carbon emissions.

But when your entire life’s outlook revolves around the cultish religious exercise of considering plant food to be your cult’s version of Satan, then you produce “journalism” such as this. Seriously, what would CBS have had us do, artificially keep the economy in a global depression for the next 30-50 years until hopefully someone can finally figure out how to make nuclear fusion work so we avoid using oil and gas and coal like we did before last March?

Why, yes, that is exactly what the Global Church of Climate Change dogma would have us do, and the headline to this piece betrays that exact mindset.

Fatih Birol, the director of the International Energy Agency at the UN, is literally bemoaning the fact that people are in the process of regaining and even exceeding the level of relative prosperity they enjoyed before they were thrown out of jobs and had their businesses destroyed by the cardinals of the climate change cult. He is literally upset that millions of people will not go hungry and will again be able to put shoes on their children’s feet.

And it’s all a religious exercise that is based solely on computer models since real-world observations still do not support a single bit of dogma that serves as the basis for the cult’s obsessive existence.

You honestly could never make these people up if they did not already exist.

All you normal people out there should celebrate this CBS piece, because it means that, in spite of all of the unconstitutional edicts, in spite of all of Anthony Fauci’s repugnant propaganda, in spite of all of the incessant fright tactics thrown at you by the corrupt news media over the past year, people are going back to work.

That is all.

Today’s Required Reading: Transcript of Trump Speech at CPAC

Here is the full text of President Trump’s Sunday speech at CPAC. It’s a long read, but it’s a dandy:

============================================

Well thank you very much CPAC. Do you miss me yet? Do you miss me? A lot of things going on to so many wonderful friends, Conservatives and fellow citizens in this room all across our country.

I stand before you today to declare that the incredible journey we begun together we went through a journey like nobody else. There’s never been a journey like it, there’s never been a journey so successful. We began it together four years ago and it is far from being over. And you know what this is? The hardest working people, hard working American patriots, it’s just getting started and in the end we will win. We will win.

We’ve been doing a lot of winning. As we gather this week, we’re in the middle of a historic struggle for America’s future, America’s culture and America’s institutions, borders, and most cherished principles. Our security, our prosperity, and our very identity as Americans is at stake, like perhaps at no other time.

So no matter how much the Washington establishment and the powerful, special interests may want to silence us, let there be no doubt we will be victorious and America will be stronger and greater than ever before.

I want to thank my great friends, Matt and Mercedes Schlap, Matt, thank you. Mercedes, thank you very much. And the American Conservative Union for hosting this extraordinary event. They’re talking about it all over the world man, I know you don’t like it [inaudible 00:05:19] okay. All over the world.

I also want to pay my love and respect to the great Rush Limbaugh who is watching closely and smiling down on us. He’s watching and he’s loving it and he loves Catherine. Catherine, thank you for being here. So great. Thank you Catherine. He loved you Catherine, I will tell you that. Fantastic. Thank you Catherine very much.

To each and every one of you here at CPAC I am more grateful to you than you will ever know.

We are gathered this afternoon to talk about the future of our movement, the future of our party and the future of our beloved country. For the next four years, the brave Republicans in this room will be at the heart of the effort to oppose the radical Democrats, the fake news media and their toxic cancel culture, something new to our ears, cancel culture. And I want you to know that I’m going to continue to fight right by your side.

We will do what we’ve done right from the beginning, which is to win. We’re not starting new parties. They kept saying, “He’s going to start a brand new party.” We have the Republican party it’s going to unite and be stronger than ever before.

I am not starting a new party. That was fake news, fake news.

No. Wouldn’t that be brilliant? Let’s start a new party and let’s divide our vote so that you can never win. No, we’re not interested in that. Mr. McLaughlin just gave me numbers that nobody’s ever heard of before, more popular than anybody. That’s all of us, it’s all of us.

Those are great numbers and I want to thank you very much. Those are incredible numbers. I came here and he was giving me 95%, 97%, 92%. And I said, “They’re great.” And I want to thank everybody in this room and everybody all throughout the country, throughout the world if you want to really know the truth.

We will be united and strong like never before, we will save and strengthen America. We will fight the onslaught of radicalism, socialism, and indeed it all leads to communism once and for all. That’s what it leads to.

You’ll be hearing more and more about that as we go along, but that’s what it leads to. You know that. We all knew that the Biden administration was going to be bad, but none of us even imagined just how bad they would be and how far left they would go. He never talked about this. We would have those wonderful debates, he would never talk about this. We didn’t know what the hell he was talking about actually.

His campaign was all lies. Talked about energy, I said, “This guy actually he’s okay with energy.” He wasn’t okay with energy, he wants to put you all out of the business. He’s not okay with energy. He wants windmills, the windmills. The windmills that don’t work when you need them.

Joe Biden has had the most disastrous first month of any President in modern history, that’s true. Already the Biden administration has proved that they are anti-jobs, anti-family anti-borders, anti-energy, anti-women, and anti-science. In just one short month we have gone from America first to America last.

Think about it, right? America last. There is no better example than the new and horrible crisis on our Southern border. We did such a good job. It was all worked, nobody’s ever seen anything like we did and now he wants it all to go to hell. When I left office just six weeks ago, we had created the most secure border in U.S. history.

We had built almost 500 miles of great border wall that helped us with these numbers because once it’s up, they used to say, “The wall doesn’t work.” Well you know what I’ve always said? Walls and wheels, those are two things that will never change.

The wall has been amazing. It’s been incredible and little sections of it to complete, they don’t want to complete it. They don’t want to complete little sections in certain little areas, they don’t want to complete. But it’s had an impact that nobody would have even believed.

It’s amazing considering that the Democrats’ number one priority was to make sure that the wall would never, ever get built, would never, ever happen, would never get financed. We got it, financed. We ended catch and release, ended asylum fraud and brought illegal crossings to historic lows. When illegal aliens trespass across our borders, they were prominently caught, detained and sent back home and these were some rough customers, I want to tell you. Some rough customers entering our country.

It took them the new administration only a few weeks to turn this unprecedented accomplishment into a self inflicted humanitarian and national security disaster.

By recklessly eliminating our border security measures, controls, all of the things that we put into place, Joe Biden has triggered a massive flood of illegal immigration into our country the likes of which we have never seen before. They’re coming up by the tens of thousands. They’re all coming to take advantage of the things that he said that’s luring everybody to come to America. And we’re one country, we can’t afford the problems of the world as much as we’d love to. We’d love to help but we can’t do that. So they’re all coming because of promises and foolish words.

Perhaps worst of all, Joe Biden’s decision to cancel border security has single handedly launched a youth migrant crisis that is enriching child smugglers, vicious criminal cartels, and some of the most evil people on the planet. You see it every day, just turn on the news, you’ll see it every day.

Under my administration, we stopped the child smugglers, we dismantled the criminal cartels. We greatly limited drug and human trafficking to a level that nobody actually thought was possible and the wall helped us a lot and we protected vulnerable people from the ravages of dangerous predators and that’s what they are. Dangerous, dangerous predators.

But the Biden administration is put the vile coyotes back in business and has done so in a very, very big way under the new administration, catch and release has been restored. Can you imagine? We worked so hard. Catch, you know where that is? You catch them, you take their name, they may be killers, they may be rapists, they may be drug smugglers, you take their name and you release them into our country. We did the opposite. We not only didn’t release them, we had them brought back to their country.

Illegal immigrants are now being apprehended and released along the entire Southern border, just the opposite of what it was two months ago. They weren’t coming because they couldn’t get in. Once they think they can get in, they’re coming and they are coming at levels that you haven’t even seen yet. By the hundreds of thousands, by the millions they’ll be coming.

The Biden administration is now actively expediting the admission of illegal migrants, enabling them to lodge, frivolous asylum claims and admitting them by the thousands and thousands and thousands a day, crowded together in unsanitary conditions despite the ongoing economic and public health crisis, COVID-19, or as I call it the China virus.

There’s no masks, there’s no double masks, that was a new one that came out two weeks ago. First Fauci said, you don’t need masks, no masks, no good, now he wants double masks. No social distancing, no nothing, no nothing. That together and I say it actually and I say for them, and I say it for our country, what the Biden administration is doing to push young migrants into the hands of human traffickers and coyotes is dangerous, immoral and indefensible, hard to believe it’s happening.

Biden has failed in his number one duty as chief executive, enforcing America’s laws. This alone should be reason enough for Democrats to suffer withering losses in the midterms and to lose the white house decisively four years from now.

Actually, as you know, they just lost the white house, but it’s one of those. But who knows? Who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time, okay? Joe Biden defunded the border wall and stopped all future construction even on small open sections that just needed to be finished up, routine little work it’s already been bought.

Wait until the contractors get to them and they say, “No, it costs this much more money not to finish the small sections then if we finished it,” that’s going to be nice. Wait until you see those bills start pouring in. He revoked the executive order cracking down on deadly sanctuary cities. He has effectively ordered a shutdown of ICE, halting virtually all deportations, everyone, murderers, everybody, no more. Let’s not deport people. And restricting our law enforcement professionals and they are great professionals, you have many of them represented here today, from conducting almost any immigration enforcement of any kind.

The Biden policy of releasing criminals into the U.S. interior is making America into a sanctuary nation where criminals, illegal immigrants, including gang members and sex offenders are set free into American communities.

They have no idea and remember with the caravans, these countries, not only the three of them, but many, many countries all over the world, they’re not giving us the best and their finest because they’re intelligent.

They’re not giving us their best and their finest, remember I said that? I said that a long time ago when I made the first remarks, when I came down the escalator with our great future first lady, who says hello. Who loves you as much as I love you. I said that a long time ago, and we turned out to be 100% correct.

Biden’s radical immigration policies aren’t just illegal, they’re immoral, they’re heartless and they are a betrayal of our nation’s core values. It’s a terrible thing that’s happening

The Republican party must hold Joe Biden and the Democrats accountable. They ripped up the diplomatic agreements we negotiated with Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador to shut down illegal immigration.

They got a fortune, they got paid $500 million a year. When I came into office, those countries were refusing to take back illegal alien gang members, including MS13, the most vicious probably of them all. No matter where you go in the world, MS13, they do things that even the worst don’t think about.

So I asked, “How much do we pay these countries? How much do we pay them?” Sir, we pay them approximately $500 million a year. That’s a lot of money. I mean, it’s peanuts compared to the way other countries rip us off but that’s a lot of money. I said, “Okay, we aren’t going to pay them anymore because they wouldn’t take back the criminals.” And this was true with the Obama administration, it was true for many, many years.

So we’d catch a murderer we’d want to bring them back to Guatemala or Honduras or El Salvador, they wouldn’t take them back. No, we don’t want them. We’d fly them in, they wouldn’t let the plane land, we’d bus them and they wouldn’t let the buses get anywhere near the border. And I said, “We’re not going to pay them anymore.” So after I said that, and I stopped payment, like a term that we use in the world of business, let’s stop payment.

So we stopped payment, they were delinquent. We stopped payment and they very quickly came to the table and we made a deal very quickly. We still kept the money. We still didn’t pay it but we made a deal. And when illegal aliens came across our border they were rapidly deported and lovingly accepted by those countries from where they came and it worked, so they accept the people and we ultimately got along very well with those countries, those three countries, and many countries throughout the world, because they respected us again.

They didn’t respect us. They couldn’t believe what they were getting away with. But now Joe Biden has wrecked this great deal, wrecked it. And they’re already doing what they were doing before, and they’re taking the money and that’s just a small portion of what’s going on.

To top it all off, the Biden people are pushing a bill that would grant mass amnesty for millions of illegal aliens while massively expanding chain migration. That’s where you come in and everybody comes in, your grandmother, your father, your mother, your brother, your cousins, they come in so easily. So crazy, so crazy. It even requires that the U.S. government provide a illegal border crossings with taxable funded lawyers, lawyers.

Anybody need a good lawyer? You can’t have one. They get the lawyers, they lawyers. They’re probably very good to.

The Democrat immigration bill is a globalist corp. You take a look at the corporatists, big tech attack on hard working citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed and Republicans must ensure that it never is allowed to become federal law, which is what they want to do. We must stand tall in the party. We have to do this. We have to stand tall as the [inaudible 00:22:10] for law abiding Americans and others when they’re in our country.

Border security is just one of the many issues on which the new administration has already betrayed the American people. He didn’t talk about this stuff. I debated him. He wasn’t talking about this. What he signed with those executive orders. They weren’t things that were discussed. We didn’t know all about him and the press because they’re fake news. They’re the biggest fakers there are.

But the press refused to ask the questions and when I asked the questions on television, on the debate, Chris Wallace, in this case, and others refused to let him answer. They refused to let him answer the questions. Maybe we could have found something, or if the media did its job, which they don’t.

Their callous indifference to working families is equally clear when it comes to the critical matter of getting Americans’ children back to school. And they must get back and get back right now, right now. Crazy. Terrible. Terrible. The Biden administration is actually bragging about the classroom education they are providing to migrant children on the border while at the same time, millions of American children are having their futures destroyed by Joe Biden’s anti-science school closures.

Think of it. We’re educating students on the [inaudible 00:23:55] but our own people, children of our citizens, citizens themselves are not getting the education themselves; are not getting the education that they deserve. There’s no reason whatsoever why the vast majority of young Americans should not be back in school immediately.

The only reason that most parents do not have that choice is because Joe Biden sold out America’s children to the teacher’s unions.

His position is morally inexcusable. You know that. Joe Biden has shamefully betrayed America’s youth and he is cruelly keeping our children locked in their homes, no reason for it whatsoever, they want to get out.

They’re cheating the next generation of Americans out of the future that they deserve. And they do deserve this future. They’re going to grow up and they’re going to have a scar. It’s a scandal of the highest order and one of the most graven acts by any president in our lifetimes.

It’s the teacher’s union, it’s the votes and it shouldn’t happen. And I have, nobody has more respect for teachers than I do. And I’ll bet you a lot of the people within that union, they agree with everything I’m saying. Even the New York Times is calling out the Democrats.

The mental and physical health of these young people is reaching a breaking point. Tragically suicide attempts have skyrocketed and student depression is now commonplace and at levels that we’ve never seen before.

The Democrats now say we have to pass their $1.9 trillion boondoggle to open schools, but a very small part of it has to do with that. You know where it’s going. It’s going to bail out badly run Democrat cities. So much of it. But billions of dollars for schools remain unspent from the COVID relief bills that were passed last year. So on behalf of the moms, dads and children of America, I call on Joe Biden to get the schools open and get them open now. It’d be a great thing to do.

When I left office, and we’re very proud of this because this was something that they said could not be done. The FDA said it, everybody said it, any article that you read said it. Couldn’t be done. It would be years and years. I handed the new administration what everyone is now calling a modern day medical miracle. Some say it’s the greatest thing to happen in hundreds of years, hundreds of years. Two vaccines produced in record [inaudible 00:26:51] others on the way, including the Johnson and Johnson vaccine that was approved just yesterday.

And therapeutic relief, also, if you’re sick. If you’re sick, we have things now that are incredible. What has taken place over the last year under our administration would have taken any other president at least five years. And we got it done in nine months. Everyone says five years, five years.

Can you imagine if you had to go through what all of the countries of the world who are now getting the vaccine or soon will be getting it from various companies. But can you imagine if all of those countries had to go through what they’ve been going through over the last year? You’d lose hundreds of millions of people.

I pushed the FDA like they have never been pushed before. They told me that loud and clear. They have never been pushed like I pushed them. I didn’t like them at all. But once we got it done, I said I now love you very much. What the Trump administration has done with vaccines has in many respects, perhaps saved large portions of the world. Not only our country, but large portions of the world.

Not only did we push the FDA far beyond what the bureaucrats wanted to do, we also put up billions and billions of dollars, 10 billion, to produce the vaccines before we knew they were going to work. It was called a calculated bet or a calculated risk. We took a risk because if we didn’t do that, you still wouldn’t have the vaccines. You wouldn’t have them for a long time.

So think of that. We took this bet, we made a bet because we feel we’re on a certain track. But you’d be starting to make them right now. It’d be a long time before you ever saw. It takes 60 to a hundred days to manufacture and inspect new doses. And that means that 100% of the increased availability that we have now was initiated by our administration. 100%.

In fact, the director of national institutes of health, Francis Collins, he’s Fauci’s boss, actually. I think he’s a Democrat too, by the way. Recently said that our operation warp speed was absolutely breathtaking. And that the Trump administration deserves full credit. Which we do. And as conservatives and Republicans, never forget that we did it.

Never let them take the credit because they don’t deserve the credit. They just followed now, they’re following our plan, but this has been something that they really call it an absolute miracle.

Joe Biden is only implementing the plan that we put in place. And if we had an honest media, which we don’t. They would say it loud and clear. By the time I left that magnificent house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, almost 20 million Americans had already been vaccinated. 1.5 million doses were administered on my final day alone. 1.5 million in a day. Yet Biden said just a few days ago that when he got here, meaning the white house, there was no vaccine. He said there’s no vaccine. Oh good. Say it again, Joe.

Now I don’t think he said that, frankly, in a malicious way. I really don’t. I actually believe he said that because he didn’t really know what the hell was happening. But never let them forget, this was us. We did this. And the distribution is moving along according to our plan. And it’s moving along really well.

We had the military, what they’ve done, our generals and all of the people what [inaudible 00:31:30] incredible. But remember, we took care of a lot of people. Including, I guess on December 21st, we took care of Joe Biden, because he got his shot. He got his vaccine. He forgot. It shows you how unpainful that vaccine shot is. So everybody go get your shot. He forgot. So it wasn’t very traumatic, obviously. But he got his shot. And it’s good that he got his shot.

Last year, I predicted to you that the extremist corruption and incompetence of the Biden administration would be literally unprecedented in American history. Unfortunately, he has proven me 100% right. Already, as president, Biden has urged [inaudible 00:32:19] legislation shredding your second amendment. Your second amendment is in far bigger trouble than you know. And for four years, I fought like hell to save your second amendment. And we saved it 100&. We saved it.

We signed an order to conduct politically correct, far-left indoctrination trainings in every department of the federal government, including the U S military, after I had terminated these horrible things that were being preached to our military. And he wants it to go forward. It’s insane.

Within his first few hours Biden eliminated our national security travel bans on nations plagued by terrorism. His first priority was to open up borders to unvetted travelers from Libya, Yemen, Syria, Somalia [inaudible 00:33:14] other countries where strict vetting cannot occur. Countries that have tremendous problems. Countries with tremendous terrorism problems.

We did a travel ban. It was a real achievement. We told those countries, sorry, straighten out your act. We don’t want people coming in where they had an ideology or a problem. We just couldn’t have it. And it was incredible. How it worked was incredible. And he terminated it.

We had to get it approved. It went all the way up to the Supreme Court of the United States. We got it approved and he terminates it. In addition, he’s already increased refugee admissions by nearly 10 times. But in effect, it will soon be hundreds of times as millions of people flow up through our soon to be open borders. And by the way, the border patrol and ICE are some of the great heroes of our country. These are incredible people. I got to know them very well.

Your family still cannot go out to eat at local restaurants, but Joe Biden is bringing in thousands upon thousands of refugees from all over the world, people that nobody knows anything about. We don’t have crime records. We don’t have health records. What are they bringing in with them? When I left office, we had virtually ended the endless wars. These endless wars, they go on forever. They go on forever.

I would go to Dover and I would see caskets, coffins coming in. I’d see the parents and wives and husbands. I would see the kids. Endless wars. 19 years in Afghanistan, we have it down to almost [inaudible 00:35:00] left and I hear they might want to go back in. Iraq. Remember I used to say don’t go in, but if you’re going to go in, keep the oil [inaudible 00:35:09] but we didn’t keep the oil. We had made historic peace deals in the Middle East like nobody thought were even possible. There’s not a drop of blood shed.

And by the way, not one American soldier has been killed in Afghanistan in over a year. Think of that. Not one. Those troops have largely come home. At the same time, the new administration unilaterally withdrew our crippling sanctions on Iran, foolishly giving away all of America’s leverage before negotiations have even begun. Leave the sanctions, negotiate.

Does anybody understand what I’m saying here? Are there any good business people? You don’t have to be a good. Are there any bad business people? They took off of the sanctions. They took off the sanctions. They said, well, we’re going to not have any sanctions. Let’s negotiate a deal. I don’t know, Matt Schlapp, I don’t think you would have done that. Do you think so, Matt? I don’t think so. Mercedes wouldn’t have.

No, you do that, you make a deal, and then you do what they wanted. I will tell you something. And I said it. Had we had a fair election, the results would have been much different, and we would have had a deal. We would have had a deal with Iran within [inaudible 00:36:51].

They wanted those sanctions off of… Took them off for nothing. For nothing. Now you watch how tough they negotiate. In another horrendous surrender, he agreed to get back into the World Health Organization. For approximately $500 million a year, which is what we were paying.

When I withdrew from the WHO, and you know the whole story with that, they called it badly. They really are puppets for China. They called and they wanted us to stay in. I said how much are we paying? Approximately $500 million. How much is China paying? A much larger in terms of population country. Sir, they’re paying $39 million. I said why are we paying 500 million and they’re paying 39. I can tell you why. Because the people that made the deal are stupid. That’s why.

And I had no idea how popular was… I didn’t even know if I would be able to politically because people were so happy when I did get out. But I said, so if we went in, we could get it for 39 million, which is what China, not 500 million, which is what we were stupidly paying. And they said, we can make a deal. We want you to go in. We can make a deal. Okay. And I decided not to do it. But we could have had it for 39. We could have had it for the same as China. And they decide, now to go back into the World Health Organization and pay 500 million. What the hell is wrong with that?

No, no. This is just emblematic. It’s a tremendous amount of money. But compared to trillions, it’s not. But it’s a tremendous amount of money. Why would China pay 39 million and we’re paying almost 500 million? Why? So we could have made the same deal that China had. 39 million. And they just say, we’re going back in. We’re going back into the World Health Organization. They go back in, they pay 500. It is so sad.

Just like the Iran and the World Health Organization, Joe Biden put the United States back into the very unfair and very costly Paris climate accord without negotiating a better deal. They wanted us so badly back in. I’ll tell you they wanted us. I was getting called from all of the countries. You must come back into the Paris accord. I said, tell me why. Give me one good reason.

First of all, China doesn’t kick in for 10 years. Russia goes by an old standard, which was not a clean standard. And other countries, but we get hit right from the beginning. Would have cost us hundreds of thousands and millions of jobs. It was a disaster. But they go back in.

I could have made an unbelievable deal and got back in, but I didn’t want to do that. Surrendering millions of jobs and trillions of dollars to all of these other countries. Almost all of them that were in the deal. So they have favorable treatment. We don’t have favorable treatment. And we just said, we’re going back in. To go back in, they wanted us so badly, you could’ve negotiated. If you wanted to go back in [inaudible 00:39:58] the cleanest air, the cleanest water and everything else that we’ve ever had. So I don’t know why we have to.

And what good does it do when we’re clean, but China’s not, and Russia’s not, and India’s not. So they’re pouring fumes. You know, the world is actually a small [inaudible 00:40:18], right? They’re pouring fumes and we’re trying to protect everything and building products for three times more than [inaudible 00:40:26] say no. They could have made a great deal. If they were going to go back in, that’s fine. But they could have made a great deal instead of just saying we’re back in. These [inaudible 00:40:35].

And in one of his first official acts, which was incredible, because again, he talked about energy. He never said he was going to do this. He canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline. Destroying [inaudible 00:40:47] or the 9,000 or the 11,000 jobs that you hear. But 42,000 great paying jobs. On just about day one, right? He never talked about that during a debate because he wouldn’t have gotten away with it. Well, he would have because they cheated so much it probably wouldn’t have mattered.

No, but that was not a topic of conversation. Remember? Fracking. You could track. Oh, we love fracking. During the primary, no fracking. As soon as he got through that, he said, no, of course everybody can frack. No fracking. You wait till you see what happens with your gasoline. Wait till you see what happens and we cannot let this stuff continue to go on. One of my proudest accomplishments as president was to make America energy independent.

The United States became the number one energy superpower. Number one. Became number one, bigger than Saudi Arabia, bigger than Russia by a lot. We left them all in the dust. They were all on [inaudible 00:42:02]. But if the Democrats have their way, we are heading from energy dominance to energy disaster. That’s what’s happening. You have to see what’s going on. Everything’s being closed up. It’s a disaster.

The blackouts we saw in California last summer and all the time. The windmill calamity that we’re witnessing in Texas. Great state of Texas. We love Texas. But it’s so sad when you look at it. That’ll just be the start.

How bad is wind power? So I talk about it all the time at CPAC, right? We went to CPAC. Remember last year, I said, we’re going to watch the president. Alice, the wind isn’t blowing. I don’t believe we’ll have any electricity. Remember we would kid, but I wasn’t actually kidding. It’s such an expensive form of energy. It’s so bad for the environment. It kills the birds. It destroys the landscapes. And remember, these are structural columns with fans on them. They wear out. And when they wear out all over the country, you see them, nobody takes them down. They’re rotting. They’re rusting.

How this is environmentally good for our country. And it costs many, many times more than natural gas, which is clean. It costs many more… And can fuel our great [inaudible 00:43:20]. We can’t do that.

And solar, I love solar but it doesn’t have the capacity to do what we have to do to make America great again. Sorry it just doesn’t have it. Under the radical Democrat policies, the price of gasoline has already surged 30% since the election. And we’ll go to $5, $6, $7 and even higher. So enjoy that when you go to the pump.

They’ll say, that’ll be about $200 to fill up your van. You’ll go to the… Remember they used to go to the little small vans. They got away from the big ones that everybody wanted. They went to the small ones. Well, you know what? Probably a good investment. As long as these guys have their say, because you know, it’s a shame what’s happening. Energy prices are going to go through the roof. And that includes your electric bills. That includes any bill having to do with energy. Our biggest cost.

We will now be relying on Russia and the Middle East for oil. And they talked about Russia, Russia, Russia. What’s better than what this guy has done for Russia? I had oil where they were actually paying you to take it. Okay. You know, I was… Remember they were going to give you 37 a barrel, but you got to take it away.

You had free oil almost for a period of time and one way I was proud of it, but we also had to save the energy industry and it worked out well. And I dealt with Russia [inaudible 00:44:39] and they cut back on production. And we got it back up. But now it’s going the opposite because now they’re taking this incredible energy independence away from the people of our country. And you’re going to see costs go like you have never seen them go before. It’s a very sad and very stupid thing that they’re doing. The Biden policies are a massive win for other oil producing countries. And a loss for the United States and our great citizens.

Joe Biden and the Democrats are even pushing policies that would destroy women’s sports. A lot of new records are being broken in women’s sports. Hate to say that ladies, but got a lot of new records, they’re being shattered. [inaudible 00:45:28] the weightlifting.

Every ounce was like a big deal for many years. All of a sudden somebody comes along and beats it by a hundred [inaudible 00:45:36]. Young girls and women are in sex that they are now being forced to compete against those who are biological males. It’s not good for women. It’s not good for women’s sports, which worked so long and so hard to get to where they are. The records that stood for years, even decades, are now being smashed with [inaudible 00:46:00]. Smashed. If this does not change, women’s sports, as we know it, will die. They’ll end. It’ll end.

What coach, if I’m a coach, I want to be a great coach. What coach, as an example, wants to recruit a young woman to compete if her record can easily be broken by somebody who was born a man. Not too many of those coaches around, right? They are around, they won’t be around long because they’re going to have a big problem when their record is… We’re 0 and 16, but we’re getting better. No, I think it’s crazy. I think it’s just crazy what’s happening. We must protect the integrity of women’s sports. So important. Have to.

And I don’t even know, is that controversial? Somebody said well, that’s going to be very controversial. I said, that’s okay. You haven’t heard anything yet. As you can see, the early weeks of the Biden administration of nothing less than they’ve been a catastrophe for American workers and for American families. [inaudible 00:47:23] of our mission. And for us, it’s our movement.

As I said, a movement, like has never been seen. I think we can probably say, never been seen anywhere in the world. And nobody’s ever seen a movement like this. I’d grow out and I’d watch somebody who came in second in New Hampshire or first in Iowa and that was the end and they became famous for the rest of their lives. We won the election twice. I mean you know think about it. The task for our movement and our party is to stand up to this destructive agenda with confidence and with resolve.

… this destructive agenda with confidence and with resolve. The future of the Republican Party is as a party that defends the social, economic, and cultural interests and values of working American families of every race, color, and creed. That’s why the party is growing so rapidly and is becoming a different party. And it’s becoming a party of love. You have to see outside the streets. I mean, there’s such love. The flags … Amazing.

That’s right. Now it’s a party that’s incredible. The people, the spirit, and there are, as you probably heard a little while ago, I mean, there’s more spirit now than there’s ever been, including even before the election. More spirit now than we’ve ever seen, because people are seeing how bad it can be. And again, I want to thank Rush and Kathryn because what he did to get the word out has been incredible. Some people are irreplaceable as Sean Hannity would say, and he said, “Rush is replaceable,” but his spirit lives on and that’s something that we need and we love.

Republicans believe that the deeds of every citizen must come first. In fact, America must come first. We don’t put it first. They don’t put it first. Over the past four years my administration delivered for Americans of all backgrounds like never before, like never before.

We built the strongest economy in the history of the world, raised wages, and achieved the lowest African American, Hispanic American, Asian American unemployment rates ever, ever, ever recorded. It was so great for everybody of all backgrounds that even after the China virus, we are leading the world, nobody’s even close. We’re leading it in the comeback. Our economic comeback has been incredible. That’s because the financial and economic foundation we built was so strong that unlike other countries, who are having a hard time, we didn’t break. We came roaring back and now our stock market and your 401ks are again at record levels, higher than ever before actually.

Many people have asked what is Trumpism, a new term being used more and more. I’m hearing that term more and more. I didn’t come up with it, but what it means is great deals, great trade deals, great ones, not deals where we give away everything, our jobs, money. Like the USMCA replacement of the horrible NAFTA.

NAFTA was one of the worst deals ever made, probably the worst trade deal ever made. And we ended it. You know, a lot of people forget, we ended it. Now we have the USMCA, Mexico, Canada. It’s incredible what it’s done for our farmers who are doing fantastically. Did you see grain prices and grain sales are at an all time high? Wheat, all time high. So many elements of farms and farmers, and they love me. And remember, it’s going to be very close in Iowa. Well, it wasn’t close. We won a landslide, Iowa, because our farmers know, and they put up with it and we did a lot of work with the tariffs and all these things that we had to do to get it, and now the farmers are doing great. But they’re setting records.

It means low taxes and eliminated job killing regulations, Trumpism. It means strong borders, but people coming into our country based on a system of merit. So they come in and they can help us as opposed to coming here and not being good for us, including criminals, of which there are many, it means no riots in the streets.

It means law enforcement. It means very strong protection for the second amendment and the right to keep and bear arms. It means support for the forgotten men and women who have been taken advantage of for so many years. And they were doing great, they were doing great before that horrible thing from China came in and hit us. And now they’re starting to do really well again. If you think about it, we built the economy twice. We built a then and then like every other country in the world, it went down and then we built it again. Now it’s higher in many ways, certainly in the stock pocket, it’s higher in many ways than it was before. That’s because of the foundation and no country comes even close to competing with our comeback.

And it means a strong military and taking care of our vets, but a strong military, which we have totally rebuilt, we have rebuilt it. And our military has never been stronger than it is today. It was tired, it was depleted, it was obsolete. And now we have the best brand new equipment ever made and it was all produced right here in the USA. Isn’t that nice? And we take care of our vets.

We had a call recently just before leaving office, the vets had a 91% approval rating for the way we took care of them. It’s the highest number in the history of the polls. The vet polls. On top of all of that, we have even created the Space Force, the first new branch of the United States in nearly 75 years.

The mission of the Democrat Party is to promote socialism. They want to promote socialism, ultimately leading unfortunately to communism. And that will happen. If you look at Venezuela, you look at some of these countries, that’s why some of our biggest supporters are from South America, Latin America, because they’ve seen what goes on with all of this cancel culture and you can’t speak it, and let’s cut them off, and let’s not give them words.

The mission of our movement and of the Republican Party must be to create a future of good jobs, strong family, safe communities, a vibrant culture, and a great nation for all Americans. And that’s what we’re creating. Their party is based upon unvarnished disdain for America, its past, and its people. You see that happening. It’s horrible the way they treat the legacy of our country, the culture of our country. Our party is based on love for America and the belief that this is an exceptional nation blessed by God.

We take great pride in our country. We teach the truth about history. We celebrate our rich heritage and national traditions. We honor George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and all national heroes. And of course, we respect our great American flag. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much.

I started that hearing, we really where … we’re getting word of that, hearing that during some of the rallies, especially the latter rallies where we set records. We had 56 unbelievable packed rallies. And nobody’s ever had anything that we had. And we started hearing, “We love you.” And I asked somebody because we really like Ronald Reagan, right? He was a great president. We had others. But I said, “Did anybody ever say that to Ronald Reagan or to any of our great … .” And to the best of all of these political professionals’ knowledge and pollsters. Nobody’s ever heard that yet before, man. So it’s an honor. Believe me, it’s an honor. Great honor. That’s a great honor.

When you think about, we love you. When you’re saying that about … I hate to say it, am I a politician? I don’t know. Maybe I’m a politician. I hate to admit it, but it’s an honor that you would say.

We believe in patriotic education and strongly oppose the radical indoctrination of Americans youth. It’s horrible. We are committed to defending innocent life and to upholding the Judeo-Christian values of our founders and our founding. We have raised free thought, we stand up to political correctors, and we reject left wing lunacy. And in particular we reject cancel culture.

We know that the rule of law is the ultimate safeguard. And we affirm that the constitution means exactly what it says, as written, as written. They want to change it. They want to change it. They want to get rid of it, frankly. We believe in law and order and we believe that the men and women of law enforcement are heroes who truly deserve our absolute support. We don’t defund the police. We are not defunding the police.

We believe in standing up to China, shutting down outsourcing, bringing back our factories and supply chains, and ensuring that America not China dominates the future of the world. So it’s going to happen. And by the way, we took in hundreds of billions of dollars from China during my administration, hundreds of … and they never gave us 25 cents. It was a one-way street. We took in hundreds of billions and during negotiations, they would say, “Look, the one thing, we don’t want any more of these tariffs.

These tariffs … .” Those tariffs, we took in so much money. And what happened is they became competitive. So what happened with the people, they wouldn’t go to China. They built a lot of it back in our country. They would make it here instead. And in addition to that, we were taking in billions and billions and billions of dollars from China.

But in all fairness to China, we made a trade deal with them, this was prior to COVID. And once COVID happened, I no longer cared so much about the great deal, because what happened with that was just disgraceful. But that’s one of the things, that’s one of the reasons that right now our farmers are doing so good. I used to tell China, “Look, look, go and get lot of wheat. Get a lot of different things. All of the things we just talked about, you better go out and do it because this country has not been treated fairly by you for many, many years. Many, many years.” We used to lose $504 billion trade deficit with China. 500, not million, $504 million is a lot, right? You know that through the World Health Organization. Now take 504 million, make it $504 billion. We had deficits with China.

It was absolutely insane that this could keep going on. It’s amazing that you still have a country left. The people that did this to our country, they should be ashamed of themselves. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Companies that leave America to create jobs in China and other countries that have ripped us off for years, should not be rewarded. They should be tarriffed, fined, and punished. They should not be rewarded. And that’s what the Biden administration is doing. But of course, as you know, they have a very close, personal relationship with China. So I don’t expect much to happen. It’s a shame because it really is a threat. It’s a tremendous economic threat. And thank God we’ve rebuilt our military, but it’s a tremendous economic threat. Never forget it.

These are the convictions that define our movement today and must define the Republican Party in the years ahead. Very simple, it’s really quite simple, isn’t it?

Another one of the most urgent issues facing the Republican Party is that of ensuring fair, honest, and secure elections. Such a disgrace. Such a disgrace. Such a disgrace. We must pass comprehensive election reforms and we must do it now.

The democrats use the China virus as an excuse to change all of the election rules without the approval of their state legislatures, making it therefore illegal. It had a massive impact on the election. Again, you have to go to the legislatures to get these approvals. This alone would have easily changed the outcome of the election at levels that you wouldn’t have even believed. Even with COVID, even with all of the things, the numbers are staggering. We can never let this or other abuses of the 2020 election be repeated or happen again. Can never let that happen again.

You see what’s going on. We’ve been set back so greatly with other countries and with the world. We need election integrity and election reform immediately. Republicans should be the party of honest elections that can give everyone confidence in the future of our country. Without honest elections, who has confidence? Who has confidence?

This issue is being studied and examined, but the reality is you cannot have a situation where ballots are indiscriminately pouring in from all over the country, tens of millions of ballots, where are they coming from? They’re coming all over the place. We’re illegal aliens and dead people are voting, and many other horrible things are happening that are too voluminous to even mention. But people know. I mean it’s being studied and the level of dishonesty is not to be believed.

We have a very sick and corrupt electoral process that must be fixed immediately. This election was rigged and the supreme court and other courts didn’t want to do anything about it.

Audience: “You won. You won. You won. You won.”

We did.

Audience: “You won. You won. You won. You won. You won.”

If you just take that one element where they didn’t go through a legislature, it’s illegal, you can’t do it. It’s in the constitution. They didn’t have the courage, the supreme court, they didn’t have the courage to act, but instead used process and lack of standing. I was told the President of the United States has no standing. It’s my election, it’s your election. We have no standing. We had almost 25 … if you think of it … we had almost 20 states go into the supreme court so that we didn’t have a standing problem. They rejected it. They rejected it.

They should be ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done to our country. They didn’t have the guts or the courage to make the right decision. They didn’t want to talk about it. We had the case led by the great State of Texas. 18 States went in. “You don’t have standing.” Let’s not talk about it. They didn’t have the guts to do what should be done.

And that’s on top of all of these other forms of cheating, but this is the most basic of all. They would have local courts and local politicians change the rules in some cases a day or two before the election. This should never be allowed to happen to another presidential candidate or presidential race, should never be allowed to happen.

Today I want to outline the steps that we must take to have an election system in this country that is honest, fair, and accurate. We need one election day, not 45, 30. One day, like it’s been. And the republicans don’t get this, and the other things I’m going to say, that you should, like the supreme court, be ashamed of yourselves.

One day. One day. And the only people that should be allowed to vote by mail are people that can be proven to be either very sick or out of the country or military where they can’t do it. One day. They have millions and millions of ballots sitting around all over the place for long periods of time. Gee, I wonder what happens with those ballots? I wonder what happens. It’s common sense. It’s a disgrace. It’s an absolute disgrace.

There should be a legitimate reason for someone to vote absentee, has to have a reason. We should eliminate the insanity of the mass and very corrupt mail-in voting. We must have voter ID. voter ID. To get into the Democratic National Convention, when they had the convention, you needed voter ID. You needed an ID card. You couldn’t get it unless you had an ID. So many people told me, “You can’t get in that place. You need ID. Nobody had ID.” You need voter ID. They know that. This is a con job. They’re conning everybody. They know that. They know the wall was good. They knew the wall would work, but didn’t want to have it because we wanted. I made one big mistake in the world. I should have said, “We will not have a wall.” And then they would have said, “Let’s build a wall.” I made a big mistake. I made a big mistake. I’m sorry. It took us a year and a half extra because of that mistake. “We will not have a wall.” “We need a wall immediately,” said Chuck Schumer.

We need universal signature matching. They want to pass a bill where you don’t have to match signatures, where signatures don’t mean anything. Now they know it’s … just like with the wall, just like with voter ID, when you need to go into anything that’s Democrat run, you need it. But for voting, which is our most sacred institution, they don’t want to let you have it.

There should be a 100% requirement to verify the citizenship of every person who votes and there must be a chain of custody protections for every ballot. Every ballot. And you saw what happened in Detroit and Philadelphia and many other places, swing states mostly. All over, but swing states mostly. You saw what happened. You saw what was going on. You saw that more people … you take a look at the votes, when you have more votes than you have people, that’s a problem, right? Is that a problem?

We have a little problem adjusting in Detroit. We seem to have more votes than we have people, a lot more votes, and election changing number. We’re not talking about a number where you can’t … no, these aren’t election changing numbers. In Pennsylvania, they had hundreds of thousands of more votes than they had people voting. What’s that all about? What’s that all about? Cheating they say. Yeah, I’d say so.

In the history of our country, and it has taken place for years in Pennsylvania and Detroit and various other places. But there’s tremendous, never like this, because they used COVID as a way of cheating. That’s what happened. And everybody knows it. Hundreds of thousands and millions of ballots. They used it as a way of getting what they’ve wanted for many years. And the republicans have to do something about it. They better do something about it. Our election process is worse than that in many cases of a third world country.

You know that, you saw what was going on. Even if you consider nothing else, it is undeniable that election rules were illegally changed at the last minute in almost every swing state with the procedures rewritten by local politicians … you’re not allowed to do that … and local judges. They want more time, they want this, they want that. All done by local politicians or local judges, as opposed to state legislatures as required by the Constitution of the United States. And these are just numbers that are massive.

These aren’t little numbers, these are numbers that in each state is a transformative number. It changes the outcome of the election. And it’s not close. Regardless of your political views, this should concern you as a constitutional matter. And the supreme court, again, didn’t have the guts or the courage to do anything about it. And neither did other judges. And democrats even admitted in Time-

And Democrats even admitted in Time Magazine, which is, I would say on the liberal side. They just couldn’t hold it in. They had to brag about it, because what they did, they had to brag about it. They couldn’t do it. You’ve got to read this story. It’s a disaster. It’s a disaster for our country that we can allow something so corrupt to happen. Read that article. I really encourage you. You read that article. Yet all of the election integrity measures in the world will mean nothing if we don’t have free speech and that’s where we’re at now.

If Republicans can be censored for speaking the truth and calling out corruption, we will not have democracy and we will have only left wing tyranny. And we can do this. We can do this. We’re smarter than they are. We’re tougher than they are. For some reason we just don’t… we don’t get it done. We let them attack our businesses and we don’t attack their businesses. I believe your numbers are bigger than their numbers, but you’re nicer than they are. You’re not as vicious as they are.

In the past, we would debate. I would have it. I debate. You’ve seen me for many years. They throw something. I debate. They debate. Who knows who wins? People go. They vote. They see what happens. But they would have an idea. They would disagree. The public would hear it. The debate and discourse would take place. And then somebody would make a decision. You would win. You would lose. The public would make up its mind. But now there isn’t a debate because they refuse to allow our side to even speak or be heard. They don’t want debate because we have easy victories in a debate, very easy victories. It’s called common sense. It’s called other things, but it’s called common sense. So they don’t want to debate.

The time has come to break up big tech monopolies and restore fair competition. Republicans, conservatives must open up more platforms and repeal Section 230 Liability Protection. And if the federal government refuses to act, then every state in the union where we have the votes… which is a lot of them… Big tech giants, like Twitter, Google and Facebook should be punished with major sanctions whenever they silence conservative voices. And Governor Ron Desantis of Florida, and in Texas and other states are doing this. If they do what they’re doing, Florida… And that legislation will pass and Texas and others will have tremendous power to do what’s right and what’s fair.

We have no time to waste. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in Congress are racing to pass a flagrantly unconstitutional attack on the First Amendment and the integrity of our elections known as HR One. Do you know what HR one is? It’s a disaster.

Their bill would drastically restrict political speech, empower the federal government to shut down dissent and turn the federal election commission into a partisan political weapon. In addition, it virtually eliminates voter ID requirements nationwide. Effectively ends all registration deadlines. Can you believe this? Requires states to give ballots to felons. Automatically registers every welfare recipient to vote and puts unaccountable unelected bureaucrats in charge of drawing congressional districts. That’s going to be a lot of fun. This monster must be stopped. It cannot be allowed to pass.

Now more than ever is the time for tough, strong, and energetic Republican leaders who have spines of steel. We need strong leadership. We cannot have leaders who show more passion for condemning their fellow Americans than they have ever shown for standing up to Democrats, the media and the radicals who want to turn America into a socialist country.

Instead of attacking me and more importantly, the voters of our movement, top establishment Republicans in Washington should be spending your energy and opposing Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats. I’ve said to some of them, I said, “You know, during the Obama years, and now during Biden, if you spent the same energy on attacking them, you’d actually be successful as you do on attacking me in many cases.”

The Democrats don’t have grand-standers like Mitt Romney, little Ben Sasse, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Pat Toomey; and in the House, Tom Rice, South Carolina, Adam Kinzinger, Dan Newhouse, Anthony Gonzalez. That’s another beauty. Fred Upton, Jamie Herrera Butler, Peter Meyer, John Katko, David Valadeo. And of course the warmonger, a person that loves seeing our troops fighting, Liz Cheney. How about that? The good news is in her state, she’s been censured. And in her state, her poll numbers have dropped faster than any human being I’ve ever seen. So hopefully, they’ll get rid of her with the next election. Get rid of them all.

Democrats are vicious. Remember this. It’s true. Democrats are vicious. He said evil. Well, there is evil there, but they’re vicious. They’re smart. And they do one thing. You’ve got to hand it to them. They always stick together. You don’t have Mitt Romney’s in the group. They always stick together.

Fortunately for the Republican party, the Democrats have horrible policies like open borders, sanctuary cities, defunding the police and the ridiculous, totally ridiculous Green New Deal. So they stick together. They’re smart. They’re vicious. They’ve got everything going, but their policies are no good. So hence we have, congratulations, the Republican Party. After this, they may not stick with those policies. We have to be careful. No, their policies are horrible. Think of it. Defund the police. How did that work out?

But the Republicans do not stick together. The RINOs that we’re surrounded with will destroy the Republican Party and the American worker and will destroy our country itself. The RINOs, Republican in name only. But the Republican Party is united.

The only division is between a handful of Washington, DC, establishment, political hacks, and everybody else all over the country. I think we have tremendous unity. When you look at the crowds outside that want your seat so badly. They will take your seat in two seconds. They want your seat. Congratulations. Congratulations on getting in, by the way. I’m very proud.

And that’s why I’m announcing that I will be actively working to elect strong, tough and smart Republican leaders. Speaking of that, I heard Jim Jordan did a great job. I heard that from Mark Meadows. I heard it. Oh, there he is. Look at that. Hi Jim. I heard you were great. In fact, I hated to follow you. I want to follow other people. I could name them too. I like to follow other people. I heard you were great. Thank you, Jim, very much. Jim Jordan, great, great athlete. People don’t know he was a great wrestler, tremendous numbers of victories. The NC… He was a champion. He was college champion for a long period of time. He’s a winner and a leader and he doesn’t play games. He likes to win. He likes to win. And we have a lot of people in our party that like to win, Jim. Right? But I heard you were great. Thank you very much.

We want Republican leaders who are loyal to the voters and who will work proudly for the vision that I’ve laid out today. And what is it? So simple. So simple. Military, law and order, great trade deals, great education. So simple. I don’t know. Does anybody get it? What are they doing? Does anybody get it?

It has just been stated that President Trump’s endorsement is the most powerful asset in politics. You believe that? Who would’ve thought that was going to happen? Who would’ve thought that was going to happen, Jim? In last year’s congressional primaries, 120… Listen to this. It’s crazy. 120 of 122 candidates I endorsed won… 120. That’s almost as good as Jim’s wrestling record. And the two that lost were beaten by people claiming to be more Trump than their opponent. So I like those two people very much also.

In the Senate, I was undefeated in endorsements with a record of 21 and 0. My endorsement of Mitch McConnell, at his request… It’s all right. It’s all right. He made a request. He asked for my endorsement. Brought him from one point down to 20 points up and he won his race in the great state and actually the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. And he won it. And he won it very easily. And I said, “I wonder if I’m doing the right thing here?” But you know what? I did… I did what I did. But he went from one point down to 20 points up very quickly, immediately actually. And he won his race. And if you compare that to his other elections, I’m sure you’ll see something interesting. But you know what? We got a Republican elected. And now we have to use Republicans to take care of the election frauds and all of the other things that are happening that shouldn’t be allowed to happen in our country. It’s very simple.

Because of my efforts campaigning, we had huge gains in the House. And I helped keep many senators in their seats and they will admit it. So that it’s now 50/50, instead of Republicans being down anywhere from eight to 10 seats. And they’ll admit it. We’d be down eight to 10 seats if I didn’t campaign. We held rallies for some of the senators that went down and nobody talks about that. Nobody wants to talk. The press doesn’t talk about it. With me at the top of the ticket, not a single Republican member of Congress lost their race. For the first time in decades, we won 26 of 26 toss up races, toss ups.

Think of that, 26 of 26. And those are toss ups. Those are races that could go any way. We were expected to lose 25 seats. And instead we won 15 seats and almost… Oh, why couldn’t we have done a couple of more? Almost cost Crazy Nancy her job. We’ll do that the next time around.

I received almost… Listen to this number. Because the fake news doesn’t ever talk about these numbers. I just heard this one for the first time. I received almost 1.5 million more votes than all of the Republican House candidates combined. So how the hell is it possible that we lost? It’s not possible. I got more votes. I got more. And which it isn’t just me. When I say, “I,” I am talking about we.

We, we got more votes than any incumbent, any incumbent president in the history of our country, almost 75 million votes. And that doesn’t include the votes and ballots they threw out. If you include them, you’ll see numbers that are much different. We did even better in the second election than we did in the first. I won the first. We won the second. We did much better. Sort of strange, right? “How did you do?” “Well we did much better the second time.” “Oh, you did, really?”

What a disgrace, what a disgrace to our country. I got over 11 million, very close to 12 million more votes than we got in 2016. And I was told by John McLaughlin that if… a great poster… That if you get to si- we had 63 in 2016, 63 million. “Sir, if you get to 66 million you have it made.” We got to almost 75 million and what the hell happened? What happened? What happened when they closed all of the counting booths? What happened at three o’clock in the morning? What happened at 3:02 in the morning? What happened?

No President has ever lost an election after carrying Florida, Ohio, and Iowa. And I won them all and I won them by a lot, by a lot. I won 94% of the primary vote. No incumbent President who received more than 75% of the primary vote has ever lost an election. I had a record number. And no President has ever, ever… We’re talking about a much lower number than we got… Has ever lost an election.

Thanks to my coattails… Thank you. We have to have a sense of humor. Thanks to my coattails, democrats failed to flip a single state legislature… Think of it… Or a legislative chamber because Republicans came out to vote for me. Now they say it differently. The press, the fake news spins it differently. They say, “Despite how well they did, Trump didn’t win.” That’s such a lie. And many legislators, many legislators told me, they said, they’re going to lose their race. Wasn’t going to happen.

And then what happened is one in particular told me from a great swing state said, “You know, I thought I was going to lose my position, lose my race. And I went out with my wife the night before the election. And I saw all these Trump signs and the American flags and the spirit on the streets. I said, ‘You know, darling, I think we’re going to win.’”He said, “But you were far, far, far more popular than me.” They do lots of polls. “You were way, way ahead of me, sir. And the next day I was right.” He said he won the election by a lot, “And you lost the election. And sir, it’s not possible that you lost because you’ve got a lower number than I did. And you were so far ahead of me. You are the person that brought everybody out to vote.” And I happen to agree with that 1,000%. Never forget that conversation. He couldn’t believe it. And I’ve it from more than one.

And in November, 18 of 19 Bellwether County’s… You heard about the Bellwether County’s… 18 of 19 Bellwether County’s that have correctly predicted every Presidential election for decades, many decades, voted for Trump, not for Biden. And it was a shocker to those people that go for the stats. It was a shocker. They voted for Trump. 18 of 19 voted for Trump. There’s never been anything like that. And yet, did Biden win? No.

If you want to help us take back the future of our country, go to donaldjtrump.com. I don’t do this. I’ve never done this. But it’s time that we have to put forces together because these people with their big tech and the fake news media right back there. Okay. And when you talk about election, they turn off. When you talk about… They probably have them going, because they also care about ratings. But when they talk about election, they turn off the cameras. You know why? It’s a very sore subject. Okay? They don’t like that subject.

There’s only one way to contribute to our efforts, to elect America first Republican conservatives. And in turn, to make America great again. And that’s through Save America PAC and donaldjtrump.com. So go out there and do whatever you can because we’re going to help a lot of great people.

We know the right people to help. We need your help to win and to fight big tech and the radical left and the DC establishment. We need to save your Second Amendment, which is under siege. We need to help protect funding for our military and for our great vets. And that’s what we’re doing. As we discussed earlier, we’re in a struggle for the survival of America as we know it. This is a struggle. This is a terrible, terrible, painful struggle.

The path ahead will not be easy, but we will win. We are going to win. Ultimately we always win. And when we do, history will show that this was the moment when we could have given up, when we could have despaired, but instead we chose to keep on pushing forward. The greater the challenge and tougher the task, the more determined we must be to pull through to triumph. We have to have triumph. We have to have victory.

With the talent and dedication of everyone here today… And you have tremendous, not only dedication, tremendous talent in this room. I know many of you. That is exactly what we will do. We will go on to victory. We will summon the spirit of generations of American patriots before us, like those heroes who crossed the Delaware, conquered the Rockies, stormed the beaches, won the battles and tamed the unknown frontiers. We will persist and we will prevail. We’re tougher than they are. We’re stronger than they are. Together, in the coming years, we will carry forward the torch of American liberty.

We will lead the conservative movement and the Republican Party back to a totally conclusive victory. And we’ve had tremendous victories. Don’t ever forget it. With your help, we will take back the House. We will win the Senate. And then a Republican President will make a triumphant return to the White House. And I wonder who that will be? I wonder who that will be. Who, who will that be? I wonder.

Standing before you today, I am supremely confident that for our movement, for our party and for our country, our brightest days are just ahead. And that together we will make America prouder, freer, stronger and greater than it ever has been before.

Monday News Roundup: At CPAC, DeSantis Emerges as Trump’s Clear Heir Apparent

Trump spoke at CPAC on Sunday. – I write at length about that event in another piece this morning. Go read it.

If this result surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention. – It is no secret that the Republican Party establishment has coalesced behind former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley as its’ preferred GOP presidential nominee for 2024. Haley is a consummate creature of the DC Swamp, a RINO at heart who would be very easy for party insiders and funders to manipulate as president. She is basically the female version of Jeb! Bush.

But Amb. Haley will have a very steep hill to climb in order to become the 2024 nominee, if the results of yesterday’s CPAC Straw Poll are any indication. Donald Trump of course came in as the clear front-runner in the poll, but if you assume as I do that he will not be the party’s nominee, given that he will then be as old as Joe Biden is now, there is one clear-cut front runner who Haley would have to find a way to overcome: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Haley also lags behind another GOP governor who has shown outstanding leadership throughout the COVID-19 pandemic: South Dakota’s Kristi Noem.

From a story at DailyWire:

A Washington Times/CPAC poll released on Sunday showed that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) would dominate the Republican field of presidential candidates for 2024 if former President Donald Trump decides not to run for president again.

The poll, which found that over 95% of respondents approved of the job that Trump did as president, showed that voters were concerned most about election integrity, border security, constitutional rights, and economic issues.

More than two-thirds of respondents said that they wanted Trump to run again, while 15% said they did not, and 17% were unsure. A staggering 95% of respondents want the GOP to continue pursuing the policies of Trump.

If Trump were to run for president again, 55% of respondents said they would vote for him, followed by 21% for DeSantis, and 4% for South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. If Trump is not on the ticket in 2024, 43% of respondents said that they would vote for DeSantis, followed by 11% for Noem.

[End]

I’ve been touting a 2024 GOP ticket of DeSantis/Noem or Noem/DeSantis here since last May, when it became apparent that they were way ahead of the pack in terms of exercising true executive leadership on COVID and the other pressing issues of the day. Both are young, both are attractive, both do extremely well on television, both have adopted Trump’s more aggressive manner in dealing with the eternally hostile press, and both understand where the ideological momentum is in the GOP.

DeSantis says Trump will soon reveal federal help for Hurricane Michael - Orlando Sentinel

While far from definitive, the CPAC straw poll shows that’s where the party’s true conservative/populist/America First wing is leaning.

Cool.

Today’s Biden Gas Premium Update. – Just a reminder that the price of a gallon of gasoline has now risen by 50 cents per gallon since Election Day.

Over the weekend, Goldman Sachs raised its 2021 mid-year crude oil price projection to $75 per barrel after the Brent index price exceeded its prior $65 estimate late last week. Because the price of gasoline tends to follow the price of crude oil, you can expect the Biden Gas Premium to grow to around 75 cents per gallon by mid-year if Goldman Sachs is right.

So, next time you run into any of your liberal pals, be sure to thank them for that extra $15 you’re having to fork over every time you fill up your car’s 20-gallon tank.

Are Florida Democrats really going to run Crist again? – Meanwhile, as the GOP shifts to a more youthful leadership profile, there is growing speculation that the already-geriatric Democrats may end up nominating another fossil to challenge DeSantis in 2022.  That’s right: the political chameleon Charlie Crist is getting ready to run one more time.

It’s hard to believe Charlie Crist is just 64 years old. It feels like he’s been around forever, frankly, spending his first 20 or so years in politics as a nominal Republican before shifting over to the Democrat Party in 2012 after having spent four years serving as Florida’s governor. Crist was a state senator throughout the 1990s, tried and failed in a run for the U.S. senate against Democrat Bob Graham in 1998, served as Florida Attorney General from 2003 through 2006, and tried and failed to defeat Marco Rubio while running as an independent in 2010. Hooboy.

Now, the scaly Crist is planning another run for governor.

From a story at Politico:

TALLAHASSEE — Rep. Charlie Crist switched parties almost a decade ago — but the party has moved on.

As the former Republican prepares a potential bid to unseat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the 64-year-old Crist must somehow convince skeptical Democrats that he can energize the diverse coalition that now makes up the party.

“I don’t think he excites the part of the base that we need to propel a statewide campaign,” said Thomas Kennedy, a newly-elected member of the Democratic National Committee from Florida. “I don’t think a former Republican governor — who has lost statewide before and, quite frankly, hasn’t been at the forefront of the battles that have roiled this county in the last four years — is going to be able to take on what’s going to be a really tough race against Ron DeSantis.”

Crist, a two-term congressman who served as the state’s governor more than a decade ago, hasn’t officially jumped into the race. But he’s reached out to political consultants, major donors such as famed attorney John Morgan, long-time friends like Broward Mayor Steve Geller and other politicians about whether he should try to reclaim the job he once held. Along the way, some of his past allies are beginning to work with other potential Democratic candidates.

When asked whether he’s the right candidate for now, Crist retorts: “I got two words: Joe Biden. Look at what happened in our last election.”

Though Biden managed to win the Democratic nomination and presidency, he lost to President Donald Trump in Florida, and the GOP picked up both congressional and legislative seats in an election that some view as evidence that Florida is losing its reputation as the nation’s largest battleground state.

[End]

Oof. When the Democrat toadies at Politico are writing pooh-pooing stories like this one about you, you’ve got a real uphill climb ahead.

Given Crist’s repeated failures in trying to unseat prominent Florida office holders in the past – he beat a relative unknown Democrat, Jim Davis, in the 2006 governor’s election – Republicans should be actively supporting his efforts to attain the Democrat nomination next year. But if Politico’s initial shot across Crist’s bow is an indicator of the media’s overall bias in the looming race, he will have a tough time gaining much traction in the race.

For Democrats, the booster support of a fawning media is everything, and right now, at least, Charlie Crist doesn’t have it.

That is all.

Trump Speech Highlights America’s Loss of Free and Fair Elections

Before we get into the rest of this, I wanted to be sure you saw this clip of an insane protest at the Georgia capitol over the weekend:

So, Georgia does the right thing and requires some form of ID for anyone requesting an absentee ballot, and these protesters literally go berserk.

Understand that these very same people must show ID in order to fly on an airplane, go on a cruise, ride on an AMTRAK train, enroll their children in public school, rent a post office box, or write a check for Crisco and Doritos at the local WalMart, and never throw similar fits of childish outrage while doing any of those things. Yet, require them to show even the most rudimentary form of ID in order to ensure they are who they claim to be when they vote, and to ensure that no one else can steal their vote from them, and they fly into fits of rage and start assaulting police officers.

Note that in our society over the last 200-plus years, it is only Democrats who engage in this sort of detestable behavior. The motivation behind this public show is quite obvious, isn’t it? They want to be able to continue defrauding our elections as they have been doing for many decades. There is no other possible logical explanation for it.

Which brings me to yesterday’s speech by former President Trump at the CPAC convention. The ex-President is being pilloried by the Democrats’ Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter and the corrupt news media today for repeating his well-based allegations of massive election fraud during the speech, because of course that is how they would react. But this is a man who just had an election blatantly stolen from him in the most public way possible, so it would have been pretty shocking had he not referred back to the events that led up to it.

Trump pressed the need for “election integrity and election reform,” calling on the GOP to be the “party of honest elections that can give everyone confidence in the future of our country.”

During the speech, Trump also ended speculation that he might form a third party, promising to work within the GOP to rid it of the RINO pestilence that has neutered its usefulness to the American people for far too long.

Here’s an excerpt from the story at JustTheNews:

“The future of the Republican Party is as a party that defends the social, economic and cultural interests and values of working American families of every race, color and creed,” Trump said.

President Trump spoke about the importance of election integrity during his remarks.

“Another one of the most urgent issues facing the Republican Party is that of ensuring fair, honest and secure elections,” he said.

“We need election integrity and election reform immediately. Republicans should be the party of honest elections that can give everyone confidence in the future of our country,” Trump said.

He reiterated his contention that the 2020 contest was “rigged.”

“We have a very sick and corrupt electoral process that must be fixed immediately. This election was rigged and the Supreme Court and other courts didn’t want to do anything about it,” he said.

Trump said there should be just one Election Day. He also called for voter ID.

“There should be a legitimate reason for someone to vote absentee, has to have a reason. We should eliminate the insanity of mass and very corrupt mail-in voting. We must have voter ID,” he declared.

“We need universal signature matching,” the former president said. “There should be a 100% requirement to verify the citizenship of every person who votes. And there must be a chain of custody protections for every ballot,” he said.

“Even if you consider nothing else, it is undeniable that election rules were illegally changed at the last minute in almost every swing state with the procedures rewritten by local politicians…and local judges…as opposed to state legislatures as required by the Constitution of the United States,” Trump said.

[End]

He’s right on that last point, of course, but sadly the Supreme Court – including Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Barrett and John Roberts – recently voted to refuse to even hear cases challenging those state-level constitutional violations.

The loss of free and fair elections is the end of this country as a constitutional republic. The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear these cases makes one wonder what the concept of “constitutionality” even means anymore. If the Court is so corrupted and compromised now that it will not even rule on such clear-cut violations of the Constitution, then the document becomes meaningless. No law has teeth unless there is someone willing to enforce it.

Which of course has been the goal of the Democrat Party since the Woodrow Wilson administration.

The Democrats have achieved their goal, and no speech by any former President can begin to change that fact.

That is all.

Sunday News Roundup: Pelosi’s Capitol Riot Fairy Tale Takes a Hit and Whitmer has a Nursing Home Problem

Imagine if he didn’t have an army of handlers writing his scripts, whispering into that earpiece and reminding him where he is every minute of the day. – Here is why China Joe Biden is seldom allowed out of the White House:

I’m sure “Shirley” Jackson Lee appreciates her new name.

Why do Democrats hate biological women so deeply? – If you have daughters, granddaughters or nieces you care about, watch and listen to the clip below. This is the ultimate consequence of the policies currently being pushed by Joe Biden and his despicable handlers:

This seems like a big deal, doesn’t it? – If we had a functioning news media based on real standards of journalism in this country, this would not be news at all, since President Trump told us weeks ago that he had offered to call in National Guard troops to help Capitol Police control the Capitol grounds on January 6, but was turned down by Nancy Pelosi. The entirety of the corrupt national news media ignored Trump for the simple fact that statement did not conform to their preferred narrative that the Capitol riot was in fact an attempted insurrection led by Trump. After all, you couldn’t very well maintain this absurd narrative if Trump was actually trying to get Pelosi to beef up security a week in advance, could you?

It turns out that it has taken five weeks for the media to follow up on that presidential statement and figure out that, oops, Trump was right.

Here’s an excerpt from that story at the Daily Caller:

In the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Former Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving recalled to House Admin how previous discussions with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her office factored in to his “blender of decision making,” according to three sources with direct knowledge of Irving’s talk with House Admin.

Pelosi’s office had previously impressed upon Irving that the National Guard was to remain off Capitol Grounds, Irving allegedly told House Admin. The discussions, which centered around “optics,” allegedly occurred in the months prior to the Jan. 6 riot, during a time when deployment of federal resources for civil unrest was unpopular with Democrats and many members of Congress.

The three sources who confirmed the discussion to the Daily Caller did so under the condition of anonymity, citing the fear of putting a chill on further witnesses to how the security situation unfolded Jan. 6. The discussion, if accurate, raises questions as to what role Pelosi’s office had in the security failures that resulted in the resignations of both Irving and former Chief of Capitol Police Steven Sund. Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill did not deny the allegations in a statement to the Daily Caller.

“The Speaker’s Office has made it clear publicly and repeatedly that our office was not consulted or contacted concerning any request for the National Guard ahead of January 6th. That has been confirmed by former Sergeant at Arms Irving in sworn testimony before Senate committees. The Speaker expects security professionals to make security decisions and to briefed about those decisions,” Hammill said.

[End]

Now, of course Pelosi’s office denies the story since it destroys the entire basis for the impeachment scam she spent a month ramming through. It also destroys the narrative she and her fellow UniParty Democans and Republicrats have built up to justify their effort to make the wall currently encircling the Capitol Building and 7,000-strong ongoing National Guard presence a permanent feature of life in the Washington, DC police state.

Every word these people and their toadies in the news media say to you is a lie. Once you accept that reality, everything makes perfect sense.

Speaking of lying liars who lie, how about that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, huh? – He got hit with yet another major sexual harassment allegation on Saturday, and the New York Times actually decided to cover it. I write about that amazing event in detail in another piece this morning. Go read it. Thanks.

Guess who else has a nursing home deaths problem? – If you guessed Michigan Governor and aspiring Central American Dictator Gretchen Whitmer, you win the prize!

On Saturday, a group of Republican legislators alleged that, like Cuomo, Whitmer’s draconian and idiotic executive edicts related to COVID-19 may have inflated the death tolls among senior citizens residing in Michigan’s nursing home facilities. They also allege that, like Cuomo, Whitmer’s administration has systematically under-reported the number of such deaths over the past 10 months.

Here’s an excerpt from a story at Fox News:

Republican state legislators in Michigan have Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in their sights as they call for investigations into the governor’s handling of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic.

The call to investigate Whitmer, a Democrat, came in a pair of letters to both acting U.S. Attorney General Monty Wilkinson and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Michigan State Sen. Jim Runestad spearheaded the letters, which were signed by seven other Republican state senators.

“Gov. Whitmer’s regional hub policy placed patients with and without COVID-19 in the same facilities and may have exacerbated the death toll in those facilities,” Runestad said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Questions remain regarding the accuracy of data, compliance with CDC guidelines and compliance with our state’s Freedom of Information Act. There is a critical need for a full investigation into these matters.”

In the letters, the lawmakers pointed out that COVID-19 infections and deaths in the Wolverine State “have soared” over the past year and that Whitmer’s administration had “been questioned about unintended consequences” of her policies.

The senators also called attention to “discrepancies” in cases and death data “in the state’s long-term care facilities.”

“It has now come to our attention that these reporting errors have likely not been resolved,” the Republicans charged.

“Gov. Whitmer’s regional hub policy put patients with and without COVID-19 in the same facilities and may have exacerbated the death toll in those facilities,” they added.

[End]

Naturally, this rising scandal is being ignored by the rest of the corrupt national news media, which spent months during 2020 building Whitmer up as a dandy choice to become Joe Biden’s vice presidential running mate, just as they spent months building Cuomo up as a potential president, just as they spent a year doing the same for the Creepy Porn Lawyer.

Are you sensing a pattern here? If the media is telling you some Democrat would be just great leading the country, that likely means that Democrat is among the very worst people in the world.

The more you know…

The Media’s Dam of Political Cover for Andrew Cuomo Finally Bursts

Things are finally getting real for New York’s thug Governor. – In the world of the American left, no story is considered to be real until it is carried by the New York Times. Yes, that really is the demented little world your leftwing friends live in. So long as the Times is ignoring any story – like Hunter Biden’s laptop, for example – liberals, in their demented minds, believe that gives them a pass on believing it’s real.

This is why your leftwing friends still don’t acknowledge the unarguable fact that high officials in the Obama/Biden administration – including Obama and Biden themselves – attempted to fix the 2016 election and ran a slow-rolling coup d’etat on American soil for three long years. It’s madness, but it’s how they justify their studious ignorance on issue after issue.

This rule of leftist life has certainly been at play in the controversies surrounding Gov. Cuomo, as a mountain of evidence has come to light that his COVID response edicts caused the deaths of thousands of the state’s senior citizens in nursing homes and that he and his toadies worked to cover up the scale of that issue. Cuomo has also been dogged by allegations of serial sexual harassment, bullying and other gross misconduct in office over the course of his long and sordid time in office, the most recent being a long, detailed essay of his behavior authored by a former top assistant, Lindsey Boylan, which I wrote about four days ago.

That story broke just a week or so after a New York Democrat legislator, Ron Kim, alleged that Cuomo had threatened to “destroy” him if he didn’t go along with the administration’s ongoing efforts to cover up the number of nursing home deaths.

So long as the fake newspaper of record refused to cover these scandals in any real detail, Cuomo has felt safe and secure in continuing his lifelong pattern of behavior, and your leftwing friends have felt fully justified in responding by simply parroting the excuse-making talking points they heard an hour earlier from some talking head on The View. You all know that’s what they do, right?

But now that game could be coming to an end, after this happened on Saturday:

That’s right: Suddenly, the Times has decided to actually give some coverage to the sexual harassment story after years of ignoring it on behalf of Cuomo. Not only that, but someone at CNN gave Fake Jake Tapper permission to actually tweet about it. You can practically hear the cries of “Oh, the humanity!” coming from the Governor’s mansion in Albany.

Here’s an excerpt from that story:

ALBANY, N.Y. — A second former aide to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is accusing him of sexual harassment, saying that he asked her questions about her sex life, whether she was monogamous in her relationships and if she had ever had sex with older men.

The aide, Charlotte Bennett, who was an executive assistant and health policy adviser in the Cuomo administration until she left in November, told The New York Times that the governor had harassed her late last spring, during the height of the state’s fight against the coronavirus.

Ms. Bennett, 25, said the most unsettling episode occurred on June 5, when she was alone with Mr. Cuomo in his State Capitol office. In a series of interviews this week, she said the governor had asked her numerous questions about her personal life, including whether she thought age made a difference in romantic relationships, and had said that he was open to relationships with women in their 20s — comments she interpreted as clear overtures to a sexual relationship.

Mr. Cuomo said in a statement to The Times on Saturday that he believed he had been acting as a mentor and had “never made advances toward Ms. Bennett, nor did I ever intend to act in any way that was inappropriate.” He said he had requested an independent review of the matter and asked that New Yorkers await the findings “before making any judgments.”

Ms. Bennett said that during the June encounter, the governor, 63, also complained to her about being lonely during the pandemic, mentioning that he “can’t even hug anyone,” before turning the focus to Ms. Bennett. She said that Mr. Cuomo asked her, “Who did I last hug?”

Ms. Bennett said she had tried to dodge the question by responding that she missed hugging her parents. “And he was, like, ‘No, I mean like really hugged somebody?’” she said.

Mr. Cuomo never tried to touch her, Ms. Bennett said, but the message of the entire episode was unmistakable to her.

“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Ms. Bennett said. “And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job.”

Ms. Bennett said she had disclosed the interaction with Mr. Cuomo to his chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, less than a week later and was transferred to another job, as a health policy adviser, with an office on the opposite side of the Capitol, soon after that.Ms. Bennett said she had also given a lengthy statement to a special counsel to the governor, Judith Mogul, toward the end of June.

[End]

Oh.

Time to “circle back” to your leftwing friends and see whose talking points they’re parroting today, as their hero’s carefully-crafted world continues to slowly fall apart.

Saturday News Roundup: The Durham “Investigation” Ends as Amazon Cancels Clarence Thomas

This may be the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. Just watch it – whoever did it is a genius:

Ok, here’s something positive. – Watch as the heir apparent to the Trump legacy within the GOP, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, gives the opening speech at CPAC:

“Now, Florida’s leading on the issues that matter to conservatives, we don’t spout hollow rhetoric, we take decisive action,” And what’s true in Florida it’s true for conservatives across the nation. We cannot, woe will not go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear.”

Strong stuff.

Here’s Ted Cruz giving a fiery speech, emphasizing the fact that Trump transformed the GOP into the party that looks out for the little guy in America:

And here is CNN’s Jim Acosta receiving the welcome he deserves to the CPAC event:

Fun stuff.

President Trump speaks on Sunday afternoon to close out the conference. Fox’s John Roberts says that someone within the Trump team is telling him that the President will say, in part, that “the only divide in the GOP is between the grassroots and a ‘handful of beltway insiders’. I am told he will name names.”

That list of names will no doubt start with Mitch McConnell.

The only part of “black history” liberals want to celebrate is liberal “black history.” – The people who run Amazon Prime have proved that longtime reality yet again by deactivating a documentary about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from its platform during Black History Month.

That’s right: Black children and their parents who are interested in learning about the life of one of just two black men who have risen to hold seats on the highest court in the land cannot do so during Black History Month.

From a sad, sad story at The Federalist:

Amazon stripped a documentary on conservative Justice Clarence Thomas, the only black justice currently serving on the Supreme Court, from its streaming service during Black History Month.

“This video is currently unavailable to watch in your location,” the website reads when the title is clicked.

While this article is being written in Denver, the outage appears nationwide, also reported by Breitbart News.

Amazon appeared to drop the PBS title, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” while still promoting a wide array of feature films under the category of Black History Month such as “All In: The Fight For Democracy,” with Stacey Abrams and two movies on Anita Hill, Thomas’ accuser of sexual misconduct who attempted to derail his confirmation. All come free to stream with a Prime membership.

The Thomas documentary released in January last year remains available to purchase on DVD. A simple search for “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” comes up short for the title however. To find it, users must include “DVD” in the search box, and the documentary will come up as the 10th result. A search for “RBG” on the other hand, will bring three documentaries on Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s documentary to the top after promoting a sponsored post of her biography, “Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”

[End]

If you still don’t think that the people on the American left hate you and are at war with you, then you just haven’t been paying close enough attention.

In perhaps the most predictable event thus far in the China Joe Biden sock puppet administration, U.S. Attorney John Durham was fired on Friday. – Oh, yeah, it’s couched as a “resignation,” but we all know he was fired. Early reports on the matter claimed he would be retained in his role as “special counsel” which worthless ex-attorney general William Barr cynically tagged him with last October, but later reports make no mention of that role one way or another.

Perhaps most telling, Durham himself makes no mention of it in a letter of resignation that sounds very final. Here is the text of that letter:

After serving as the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut for more than three years, and as a federal prosecutor in Connecticut for more than 38 years, John H. Durham today announced his resignation from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, effective at midnight on February 28.

“My career has been as fulfilling as I could ever have imagined when I graduated from law school way back in 1975,” said U.S. Attorney Durham.  “Much of that fulfillment has come from all the people with whom I’ve been blessed to share this workplace, and in our partner law enforcement agencies.  My love and respect for this Office and the vitally important work done here have never diminished.  It has been a tremendous honor to serve as U.S. Attorney, and as a career prosecutor before that, and I will sorely miss it.”

Prior to his appointment as an interim U.S. Attorney in November 2017 and subsequently as the presidentially appointed U.S. Attorney in February 2018, Mr. Durham served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in various positions in the District of Connecticut for 35 years, prosecuting complex organized crime, violent crime, public corruption and financial fraud matters.  From 1978 to 1982, he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office, and from 1977 to 1978, he served as a Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Leonard C Boyle will serve as Acting U.S. Attorney upon Mr. Durham’s departure.

“The Office will be in the extraordinarily capable hands of Len and our superb supervisory team who, together, guarantee that the proper administration of justice will continue uninterrupted in our District.”

[End]

So, there will apparently be no “Durham Report”, nor any further investigation of the long-running coup d’etat effort mounted on American soil by the upper management of the FBI and Department of Justice across parts of two presidential administrations.

But we all knew that would be the case months ago, rendering yesterday’s announcement from Durham as just another sad moment of this five week-old presidency that will thousands more sad moments to come.

If Dr. Seuss and Math are Racist, Everything’s Racist

Ok, so, Dr. Seuss books are now racist. – No, I’m not making that up:

From the story at DailyWire:

A national educators organization is telling schools to avoid reading Dr. Seuss because the children’s books allegedly have “racial undertones.”

For more than 20 years, March 2 has been recognized as Read Across America Day in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The reading recognition day was founded by the National Education Association — the nation’s largest labor union — in 1998. This year’s theme is “Create and Celebrate Diversity.”

The researchers surveyed 50 Dr. Seuss books and concluded that there is not enough diversity in the children’s books, many of which were written in the 1950s.

“Of the 2,240 (identified) human characters, there are 45 of color representing two percent of the total number of human characters,” the study reads. Of the 45 characters of color, 43 “exhibited behaviors and appearances that align with harmful and stereotypical Orientalist tropes.”

Learning for Justice alleges that many of the non-white characters in Dr. Seuss’s books were men and were “subservient” to the white characters in his book.

[End]

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say to that.

Hey, guess what else is racist now? – If I said the occupation of sports analytics, would you have guessed correctly? No?

Well, no worries – if we sat around trying to think of everything in our world that is now suddenly racist, we’d have no time to eat or poop. Oops, that’s probably racist, too, come to think of it.

But back to this sports analytics deal. Check this out:

Ok, so, most of the people in the profession of sports analytics are white and male, and that makes it all racist. But the NBA is overwhelmingly black and male, but that’s not racist. See how this works? No? Ok, let this clown writer for the Boston Globe explain it all to you:

The lack of diversity is possibly most striking at the annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, which started as a meeting of analytic minds and has morphed into a big-ticket event, attracting stars across all sports and bringing them to the intersection of data, culture, and innovation.

“You can see it at the Sloan Conference,” Sparks said. “I think pretty noticeably — a lot of people you pass in halls and people giving presentations. It’s definitely changed in the last two or three years, I’d say, for more diversity. But a lot of people there are white guys that look just like me.”

This year, Sloan is sponsoring 10 Black undergraduate students to attend the virtual conference, and has 13 women or people of color among its list of speakers and panelists.

As the country faced a racial reckoning last year in the wake of the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, many in the sports data community were forced to look in the mirror and examine ways to make a growing industry more inclusive.

[End]

Ok, now, understand this: The people moaning right now about the lack of diversity in the [checks notes] sports analytics field – a field whose very basis lies in an intricate knowledge of and expertise in mathematics – are the very same people who have been running around for the last decade screaming that mathematics itself is…wait for it…RACIST! No seriously, really, that’s a thing:

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is bankrolling a group of activists who believe math is racist.

A group of fringe educators have compiled a six-part toolkit offering an “integrated approach” to developing an “anti-racist math practice” viewed through a social justice lens. It chides the “concept of mathematics being purely objective” as “unequivocally false.” It argues focusing on the “right answer” to math equations is an example of white supremacy.

It chides the “concept of mathematics being purely objective” as “unequivocally false.” It argues focusing on the “right answer” to math equations is an example of white supremacy.

The toolkit focuses on the 2021 progressive buzzword of “equity” and claims white supremacy and mathematics go hand in hand.

The resources help educators rid their classrooms of the scourge of racist math by making their students dumber. For example, the lessons in Dismantling Racism in Mathematics Instruction warn educators that “white supremacy culture” shows up in the classroom when teachers “treat mistakes as problems by equating them with wrongness” because it “reinforces the ideas of perfectionism (that students shouldn’t make mistakes) and paternalism (teachers or other experts can and should correct mistakes).”

[End]

So, on the one hand you have leftist activists brainwashing teachers and black students to believe that having a real understanding of mathematics is racist while at the same time complaining that an occupation that is based entirely on getting the right answers to complex mathematics problems and applying those right answers to the sporting world doesn’t have enough black people in it.

Something about this equation just doesn’t add up.

Think about it: Our entire lives are based on math and numbers and an understanding of them and why they’re important. I get up at 5 in the morning; I try to have these posts up by 7; Ancient Aliens is on channel 269; the entire Ancient Aliens theory is based on the number 9; or maybe it’s 10; or maybe it’s 12, or 3 – it varies from episode to episode; I put 2 cups of milk/water in my oatmeal; there are 2 cups in a quart; if you don’t know basic math, how do you balance a checkbook; the entire business world is a mathematics problem; you lose about 30% of your paycheck to taxes; you can’t learn music if you can’t do math; you get 6 points for a touchdown but only 3 points for a field goal in football, but you only get 3 points for a field goal in basketball if both your feet are behind that 3-point line; it’s 53 degrees outside as I type this, but it’s gonna be 65 degrees at 3 o’clock; there are 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute; it takes 3 hours and 45 minutes to drive from my house to downtown Houston; on and on and on this goes.

Pretty much everything we do in our daily lives boils down to numbers and math problems, yet we have leftist activists actively brainwashing and shaming teachers into refusing to properly teach black kids math because it’s “racist” and then complaining because a profession whose entire foundation is a keen understanding of mathematics doesn’t have enough black people employed in it.

If Dr. Seuss and math are racist, what isn’t?

You just could never make this stuff up, not in a million bazillion years.

That is all.

Friday News Roundup: When Equality Means Discrimination and Biden’s Broken Promises Mount

Today’s Short-Term Memory Reminder. – This morning, Joe Biden has kids back living in cages, America back at war in Syria, no $15 minimum wage anywhere in sight, and those $2000 checks that were going to be delivered to everyone “immediately” after he assumed office are still nowhere to be seen and will never materialize.

Thanks, Democrats!

X, X Everywhere Meme - Imgflip

Today’s Long-Term Memory Reminder. – 20 years ago this month, Al Gore told us we would all be dead in 20 years from global warming. And he is still running the same scam that has now made him a multi-hundred millionaire.

May be an image of 1 person, fire and text

Shameless self-promotion commercial break: I write at length about the Biden Administration’s decision to re-start Barack Obama’s war on Syria with a unilateral series of missile strikes in another piece this morning. Go read it after you finish here.

Hey, about that $15/hr minimum wage… – It’s a funny thing about passing laws through congress: You have to have enough votes to get over all the procedural hurdles. As former senators, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris presumably knew this throughout the campaign when they cynically promised to “immediately” raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.

This means they knew that any such proposal would either have to have at least 60 votes behind it in the senate, or have the senate parliamentarian rule that it would qualify under the arcane senate “reconciliation” rule that is to be used strictly for budgetary purposes and not for statutory changes. The “reconciliation” process is intended mainly to reconcile numbers between budget bills passed by the house and the senate, and requires only a 51 vote majority for approval, the exact number the Democrats currently control with Kamala Harris joining in as the tie-breaker.

Biden and Harris knew all of this going in, which means they knew pretty much with out any doubt that their promises for a higher minimum wage were in fact false promises. Yesterday, the other shoe dropped on that as the senate parliamentarian very predictably ruled that the $15 minimum wage provision in the Democrats’ $1.9 trillion bill to pay off Democrat constituencies cannot be passed under reconciliation rules:

Here’s an excerpt from that story at JustTheNews.com:

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has reportedly determined that including a provision in the COVID-19 relief package to increase minimum wage to $15 per hour would not be acceptable under the chamber’s rules.

Democrats are seeking to pass the bill using reconciliation, which would enable them to avoid the 60-vote legislative filibuster, according to The Hill.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described the Senate parliamentarian’s ruling as “disappointing” but said that the minimum wage provision will stay in the legislation that the House is expected to approve on Friday.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said a statement: “President Biden is disappointed in this outcome, as he proposed having the $15 minimum wage as part of the American Rescue Plan. He respects the parliamentarian’s decision and the Senate’s process. He will work with leaders in Congress to determine the best path forward because no one in this country should work full time and live in poverty,” the statement said, adding that Biden urges the nation’s legislature to approve the relief legislation.

[End]

Thus does the $15 minimum wage go the way of the $2000 checks to everybody and the dodo bird, which both Biden and Harris knew would be the case all along.

Feeling properly stupid yet, Democrats?

Speaking of that Democrat constituent payoff bill… – Here’s a terrific graphic showing where all the money is going. And guess what? It’s not going to you:

May be an image of text that says 'THE PELOSI PAYOFF COVID HEALTH SPENDING -COVID SPENDING 9% -Planned Parenthood -Bailouts for New York and California -Unions -Arts -Schumer's Bridge -Pelosi's Train 91% NG MIKE JOHNSON'

Hey, guess how they are apportioning the $350 billion in the bill that is going to the various states? By their rate of unemployment! Thus, states like New York and New Jersey and Illinois that have been ravaged by Democrat governors and legislators for decades and have high rates of unemployment will be getting proportionately more money than Red states that have low unemployment.

The lesson? Screw up your state by electing incompetent Democrat leadership and the feds will bail you out. It’s like giving a screaming spoiled brat another popsicle just to shut him up. He’s only going to scream louder and longer next time.

When “Equality” really means “Discrimination”. – Speaking of attacks on you, how about that “Equality Act”, huh? This is yet another great example of Democrats assigning a name to a bill that is exactly the opposite of what the bill actually would do. The Democrats, media and their Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter are promoting this bill as somehow ensuring “equal” rights for LGBTQ folks, something that in fact they already possess.

This bill is not that at all, not even a little bit. This bill is a full frontal assault on the freedoms of speech, religion and association, and on biological women. It is a bill that will end civic life as we know it should it be signed into law by President Sock Puppet.

Here’s an excerpt from a terrific piece by Christopher Bedford at TheFederalist:

“Have you been following this ‘Equality Act?’” a Catholic priest I know asked me as I passed on the icy sidewalk early Sunday afternoon.

“A bit,” I answered. “You can be sure anything that comes out of D.C. does the opposite of its name.”

Check it out today,” he replied. “It could pass as early as this week, and it’s very, very troubling.”

The two of us went our ways, carefully navigating the icy bricks back to the safety of our homes. The monsignor was right, of course: If the Equality Act passes, he won’t be safe in his home much longer, nor will women be safe in their sports, their restrooms and locker rooms, the nail salons they work in, nor even shelters from homelessness and abuse.

The act, which the House is expected to pass for the second time in nine months on Thursday before sending it to a now-Democratic Senate, opens up swinging on Christian (as well as most religions’) concepts of morality in marriage, sex, and identity. It would strike biological sex from the 1964 Civil Rights Act, replacing it with “sexual orientation and gender identity.” Belief in traditional marriage, the act would legislate, is a specific example of illegal discrimination.

If the bill passes the Senate, our church parishes will become soft targets. While weak-kneed men like David French confidently celebrated the migration of drag queens from rowdy, seedy city bars to children’s library story hours as “blessings of liberty,” it will be curious to see what he thinks when parish halls are subjected to those same blessings.

It’s all made possible by massively expanding the government’s definition of bigotry, as well as the definition of public gathering places to include any place that “provides exhibition, entertainment, recreation, exercise, amusement, public gathering or public display.” When you add the above to “any establishment that provides a good, service, or program,” you’ve put nearly the entirety of American civic life under the thumb of radical activists.

And they’re not remotely done. Unhappy with the restrictions on eligibility that Catholic and other religious adoption agencies put on families looking to take children into their homes, the act seeks to nationalize Massachusetts, New York, and California’s outright bans on religious adoption agencies’ right to operate according to conscience. Never mind that there are any number of secular adoption agencies with no traditional marriage guidelines; shutting down the organizations that invented adoption, the bill states, will “increase the number of homes available to foster children.”

Meanwhile, Catholic school and other forms of religious education, rare alternatives to increasingly failing and liberal public education, will be compelled by the act to teach a concept of marriage antithetical to their faith, as well as the popular but absurd claim that boys can be girls and girls can be boys. Religious education alternatives are already suffering under government COVID rules, with many that serve poor, inner-city children hardest hit, but vulnerability is a one-way street for the bill’s sponsors, who also target shelters and homes for homeless and battered women, demanding they admit men who say they’re ladies.

The same rules will apply to women’s sports, as well as their bathrooms and locker rooms, effectively nationalizing coastal states’ dangerous experiments on women (including children) trying to compete athletically with fairness, use the restroom, or simply shower in privacy.

Salons, too, will not be able to “discriminate” based on biology, opening the door in the United States for the Canadian nightmare where Jessica Yaniv — a man who identifies as a woman while still being attracted to women — sued to force female nail salon employees to wax his privates. You don’t have to be a woman to understand the level of sexual assault implicit in an adult man demanding a woman handle his privates for money or risk the force of law.

[End]

If you have daughters or granddaughters or nieces, know that this bill is a full-frontal assault on them. It is an assault on the rights of actual women, and there is not a single liberal prominent woman in America speaking out against it for fear of being cancelled by the Perpetual Outrage Mob.

This heinous piece of legislation passed the house on a party-line vote yesterday. So long as the senate filibuster rule remains intact, it has no chance of passage in the senate, but we all know that the Democrats plan to move to end that rule at some point this year.

The Democrat Party has been at war with organized religion, heterosexuality and biological women for years now, and this bill proves that that war is only continuing to heat up.

So much for “unity”.

That is all.

Biden Re-Starts Obama’s War in Syria

Well, now we know why congressional Democrats want China Joe to relinquish control of the nuclear codes. – Four years of peace was just too much for Democrat voters and our corrupt news media to stand, so they did everything they could to ensure that life-long warmonger China Joe Biden was installed into the presidency.  Last night, the fruits of their votes and constant propaganda operation against peacemaker Donald J. Trump paid off with the bombing of sites in Syria without any prior notice to congress or the American people, and, at least as of this writing early Friday morning, no White House or presidential statement afterwards attempting to justify this unilateral action.

None. Zip, Zero, Nada.

A Pentagon spokesman did issue a statement, but so far from our sock puppet president, bupkis.

From a story at the New York Post:

The US on Thursday launched an airstrike in Syria that targeted facilities used by  Iran-backed militia groups — the first military action taken by the Biden administration, officials said.

The Pentagon said the strike was in retaliation for a Feb. 15 rocket attack against a US military base at Erbil International Airport in Northern Iraq that killed a US-led coalition contractor and left others wounded, including an American service member.

“I’m confident in the target that we went after, we know what we hit,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters after the airstrike.

“We’re confident that that target was being used by the same Shia militants that conducted the [Feb. 15] strikes,” he said.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the attack “destroyed multiple facilities at a border control point used by a number of Iranian- backed militant groups.”

[End]

Four years ago, then-President Trump made the mistake of assuming  his military and national security advisors were dealing with him truthfully when they told him he needed to lob some cruise missiles into Syria, and he fell for it. Immediately after the missiles landed, the President issued a statement explaining the rationale for the action, which of course he later discovered was false. Because that’s what the military/industrial/Swamp war machine does.

Later in his administration, in January of last year, President Trump hit the head terrorist on earth with a U.S. guided missile, taking him out at the Baghdad airport as he attempted to get out of Iraq following a meeting there. In response to that action, here is what private citizen Joe Biden had to say about it:

Oh. Hey, did China Joe have your “informed consent” when he lobbed missiles into Syria that no doubt killed and maimed innocent civilians last night? Yeah, didn’t think so.

The next day, here is what candidate Joe Biden had to say about how he would wield his power if elected president:

In fact, China Joe just used military power irresponsibly and as a first resort and has just gotten us back into another forever war in the Middle East, a war that he, working with Obama and John McCain, actually helped to start in the first place, creating and arming ISIS along the way. That’s the truth of Biden’s involvement in the Syrian civil war, and he is obviously bound and determined to crank it back up now.

Or let me amend that: China Joe is not in charge of anything. Let’s be honest about that. This decision was likely made at the Pentagon and someone might have let Biden know about it by sending him a message through his earpiece, just in case he was still awake eating tapioca pudding or Jello at 6:00 in the evening.

Biden himself is so out of it that yesterday he had to be reminded by Kamala Harris to put his mask on at an event at the White House. That reminder came as he was walking over to try to shake hands with some special guest, an act he has been instructed to avoid for more than a year now due to all the COVID pretense.

Check this out:

This man has no idea where he is or what he is doing at any given moment. He hasn’t made a statement about the missile strikes on Syria because he has no clue why they happened.

But this gets even better. Here’s what Biden’s spokesperson tweeted after the Trump missile strike in 2017:

Think anyone in the White House Press Corps – outside of Fox’s Peter Doocey – will repeat Jen Circle Back Psaki’s statement back to her and ask her to explain why this time is different at today’s press briefing?

Yeah, don’t hold your breath.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Even the Media and Democrats Know Biden’s Unstable, and Springsteen Gets a Pass

Today’s China Joe Biden Energy Policy Impact Update. – The price of a gallon of gasoline has now risen by 50 cents since Election Day, 2020.

Thanks, Democrats!

Today’s Authoritarian Thought Control Update. – Facebook last week started censoring linking or cutting and pasting any news stories coming from Australia because the government there is cracking down on its monopolistic practices. This week, Twitter has begun suspending accounts whose messages it clams are “undermining faith in NATO.”

Joseph Goebbels would be so proud.

Here’s the reward for announcing you’re going to start doing a new podcast with Barack Obama:

I think maybe it’s time Bruce Springsteen cuts all those songs about how unfair the justice system is to the “working man” out of his repertoire.

Even the media knows Joe Biden is mentally impaired. – How do you know that’s the case? When you see multiple news reports doing “fact checks” talking about how it is perfectly normal to indefinitely delay delivering a State of the Union – style address to congress.

First, there indeed is not a requirement in the constitution or law for any president to deliver a state of the union speech. The constitution simply requires the president to update congress on the state of the union “from time to time,” and the form of that update could be a speech, or it could just be in writing as several early U.S. presidents chose to do. But over time, it has become an annual tradition for the president to deliver a speech.

In its story making excuses for Biden’s failure to make any such speech, USA Today notes that none of the last 6 presidents have chosen to deliver what was called a “state of the union” speech to congress during their first year in office, although they all, including Donald Trump, chose to make a speech without tagging it with that name. Biden’s White House initially set this past Tuesday as a tentative date for his giving such a speech, but that day came and went with little media notice, because to notice it would be to invite questions about Biden’s capacity for delivering such a speech.

Indeed, when you think about it, why would a Democrat president turn down the opportunity to deliver a nationally-televised speech to a congress in which his own party has nominal control of both the House and Senate? It’s a tailor-made opportunity to show off all the things you’ve already done and all you intend to do for the rest of the year with a captive audience of tens of millions of Americans. That’s certainly how Donald Trump used the opportunity in 2017 and how Barack Obama used it in 2009.

The USA Today excuse-making piece details how the White House initially said the speech would be this month, and how his spokesperson, Jen “Circle Back” Psaki, falsely claims that no such speech was ever contemplated:

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Feb. 16 that Biden’s first appearance before a joint session “was never planned to be in February,” even though Biden said in January that it would be, according to Axios.

Pelosi said on Feb. 11 that a joint session wouldn’t likely be convened until after Congress passes a COVID-19 relief bill, potentially delaying Biden’s first address until March, Roll Call reported.

“We won’t be doing any of that until we pass our COVID bill. That’s the first order of business,” she said.

[End]

So, why would China Joe’s handlers be reluctant to put their sock puppet out before the American people for such a prime PR opportunity? The answer’s pretty clear, isn’t it? They don’t want the American people en masse to get a good, long look at this guy as he struggles to read text from a teleprompter. Plus, they’re scared to death about what he might blurt out in the middle of the thing, or that he might start repeating the stuff they’re saying to him through the earpiece he constantly wears out loud, something he has already done several times now.

The man is a potential pratfall on feeble legs, and they know it. That is why he hasn’t already delivered a speech to a joint session of congress, and why he most likely never will.

His fellow Democrats in congress know he’s an accident waiting to happen, too. – They’re so worried about Biden’s advancing impairment that they want him to give up sole possession of the nuclear codes.

I swear I’m not making this up:

From the story at JustTheNews.com:

Multiple House Democrats have signed a letter urging President Biden to look at ways he can end his sole authority as president to order the use of America’s nuclear weapons.

“As president, you will have the final say on any changes to U.S. nuclear policy. We respectfully request that you, as president, review ways in which you can end the sole authority you have to launch a nuclear attack, and to install additional checks and balances into the system,” the letter states.

The letter notes that there have been multiple possible systems proposed and lists several of them. One proposal involves “Requiring additional officials in the line of presidential succession, starting with the vice president and the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives — neither of whom can be removed by the president if they disagree — to concur with a launch order, and utilizing the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s tracking of those officials to ensure prompt communication.”

https://twitter.com/politico/status/1364251316852322305

That’s three dozen House Democrats – Biden’s own Party – tacitly acknowledging how little confidence they have in the sock puppet they helped to install in the White House.

We are so screwed.

The perks of being a federal employee never end in a Democrat administration. – Check this out:

Think about that: You get $1400 one time, they get it every week for 15 weeks. My daughter has been home schooling her two daughters for 11 months now, and hasn’t received a dime from the feds for doing so. But if you’re a federal employee, you’re fixing to get 15 weeks of paid leave, which not coincidentally should get you through the rest of the school year. And my daughter and her husband’s taxes will help pay for that.

Infuriating.

Today’s Required Reading: How Long Will the Media Cover for Andrew Cuomo?

Andrew Cuomo’s carefully-crafted world continues to fall apart. – Today’s Required Reading comes from former staffer for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Lindsey Boylan. Ms. Boylan spent years working for Cuomo, and tells a story of a workplace environment characterized by constant bullying and sexual harassment coming from the Governor and his male staff.

It is a putrid story that is all too typical in the corporate and political world: One in which a powerful man engages in the most reprehensible behavior imaginable but intimidates people whose livelihoods depend on his good graces into remaining silent and covering for him. The thing about this particular situation is that Cuomo’s bullying style has been common public knowledge for years, yet his pals in the corrupt news media have spent all of that time running cover for him, just as they spent years running cover for creeps like Matt Lauer and Harvey Weinstein because they all shared the same politics.

Ms. Boylan first went public with her accusations way back in December but few people knew about it since Cuomo’s toadies in the media essentially spiked the story. Today, she has a long and detailed expose’ published at Medium.com, and I wanted to do what little I can to ensure the story gets the maximum distribution possible. I urge you all to read the story and share it among your social media accounts, because the behavior described by Ms. Boylan is that of a real monster.

Here are some excerpts to whet your appetite:

“Let’s play strip poker.”

I should have been shocked by the Governor’s crude comment, but I wasn’t.

We were flying home from an October 2017 event in Western New York on his taxpayer-funded jet. He was seated facing me, so close our knees almost touched. His press aide was to my right and a state trooper behind us.

“That’s exactly what I was thinking,” I responded sarcastically and awkwardly. I tried to play it cool. But in that moment, I realized just how acquiescent I had become.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected. His inappropriate behavior toward women was an affirmation that he liked you, that you must be doing something right. He used intimidation to silence his critics. And if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences.

That’s why I panicked on the morning of December 13.

While enjoying a weekend with my husband and six-year-old daughter, I spontaneously decided to share a small part of the truth I had hidden for so long in shame and never planned to disclose. The night before, a former Cuomo staffer confided to me that she, too, had been the subject of the Governor’s workplace harassment. Her story mirrored my own. Seeing his name floated as a potential candidate for U.S. Attorney General — the highest law enforcement official in the land — set me off.

In a few tweets, I told the world what a few close friends, family members and my therapist had known for years: Andrew Cuomo abused his power as Governor to sexually harass me, just as he had done with so many other women.

As messages from journalists buzzed on my phone, I laid in bed unable to move. I finally had decided to speak up, but at what cost?

Parts of a supposed confidential personnel file (which I’ve never seen) were leaked to the media in an effort to smear me. The Governor’s loyalists called around town, asking about me.

Last week, Assemblymember Ron Kim spoke out publicly about the intimidation and abuse he has faced from Governor Cuomo and his aides. As Mayor de Blasio remarked, “the bullying is nothing new.” There are many more of us, but most are too afraid to speak up.

I’m compelled to tell my story because no woman should feel forced to hide their experiences of workplace intimidation, harassment and humiliation — not by the Governor or anyone else.

I expect the Governor and his top aides will attempt to further disparage me, just as they’ve done with Assemblymember Kim. They’d lose their jobs if they didn’t protect him. That’s how his administration works. I know because I was a part of it.

The Governor’s behavior made me nervous, but I didn’t truly fear him until December 2016. Senior State employees gathered at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany to celebrate the holidays and our year’s work. After his remarks, the Governor spotted me in a room filled with hundreds of people waiting to shake his hand. As he began to approach me, I excused myself from coworkers and moved upstairs to a more distant area of the party.

Minutes later, I received a call from an unlisted number. It was the Governor’s body person. He told me to come to the Capitol because the Governor wanted to see me.

I made my way through the underground connection that linked the Plaza to the Capitol. As the black wrought-iron elevator took me to the second floor, I called my husband. I told him I was afraid of what might happen. That was unlike me. I was never afraid.

I exited the elevator to see the body person waiting for me. He walked me down the Hall of Governors. “Are there cameras here?” I asked him. I remembered my mother’s text warning the month before. I worried that I would be left alone with the Governor. I didn’t know why I was there. Or how it would end.

I was escorted into the Governor’s office, past the desks of administrative assistants and into a room with a large table and historical artifacts. The door closed behind me. It was my first time in his Albany office. The Governor entered the room from another door. We were alone.

As he showed me around, I tried to maintain my distance. He paused at one point and smirked as he showed off a cigar box. He told me that President Clinton had given it to him while he served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. The two-decade old reference to President Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky was not lost on me.

Wednesday News Roundup: Beto O’Rourke Eyes a Comeback and Anthony Fauci Lacks Self-Awareness

What is this – a scene from the Walking Dead?

That’s your ruling class, folks, holding candles while huddled safe behind their Capitol wall, with thousands of National Guard troops there to protect them.

By the way, more than 100,000 of those 500,000 Americans died in just the first month of the Biden presidency. IN ONE MONTH. But hey, Mitch and his fellow RINOs are out holding candles with their Democrat buddies, so we got that going for us. Holy crap.

Speaking of Mitch McConnell and the RINO herd… – They’re all doing what RINOs always do in a new Democrat administration, and voting to confirm China Joe’s appointees as if they’re qualified or something. Yesterday Mitch announced he was planning to vote to confirm Merrick Garland, an Attorney General nominee who admits that he hasn’t even thought about whether or not illegal crossings of U.S. borders are in fact crimes.

This man has sat on the federal bench for decades now, yet he insults the intelligence of every American by claiming he hasn’t even thought about one of the most pressing issues of our time and Cocaine Mitch and the RINO herd that follows him around the walled-in Capitol Building are just going to snap their fingers and vote to confirm him.

Four years ago, none of President Trump’s nominees received more than a few Democrat votes for confirmation. But Mitch and his RINO herd learned nothing from that experience. As always, there’s a war going on in Washington, DC, and the Democrats are the only ones fighting it.

Godspeed, Tiger Woods. – We all have opinions about Tiger Woods. I was an enormous fan until about 2009, when evidence came to light that he most likely had taken steroids to advance his career. But he has made an admirable comeback in recent years from knee and back issues that culminated in a win at The Masters.

The leg injuries he suffered in yesterday’s car accident will be hard for a 45 year-old man to overcome. A golf swing like Tiger’s places tremendous stress on the back and legs, so his future appears to be murky at best. He will obviously receive the best medical care possible, and all golfing fans can do is hope and pray for the best.

The Most Inevitable Story of the Week, from Politico. – Sigh. This story is so predictable that it’s a wonder it took this long for the Democrat toady media to get it out. Texas Republicans are taking a drubbing in the wake of last week’s winter weather disaster, because hey, they’ve been in charge of all aspects of Texas government for 27 years now. So, who else are Texans going to blame for the massive, epic failure of ERCOT and other Texas officials to ensure the heat and lights stay on when it’s 5 degrees outside?

Thus, the first thought of any leftwing fake reporter at Politico was bound to be “oh joy, does this mean we get our Beto back?”, and right on cue, the story appears:

Here’s an excerpt from the media’s latest Beto booster piece:

While Ted Cruz was getting clobbered for fleeing Texas amid its historic winter storm, the Democrat he defeated in 2018, Beto O’Rourke, was already deep into disaster relief mode — soliciting donations for storm victims, delivering pallets of water from his pickup truck and once again broadcasting his movements on Facebook Live.

It was part of an effort orchestrated by O’Rourke and his organization, Powered by People, in response to the crisis. It was also, to Texas Democrats, a sign that O’Rourke the politician is back.

The former congressman and onetime Democratic sensation acknowledgedlast month that he’s considering running for governor in 2022,and he has discussedthe possibility with Democratic Party officials and other associates. The drubbing that Texas Republicans are taking in the wake of the deadly storm may provide him with an opening — even in his heavily Republican state.

“After all of Texas freezes over because of poor leadership, I think it’s a different state of Texas than it was two weeks ago,” said Mikal Watts, a San Antonio-based lawyer and major Democratic money bundler.

If O’Rourke runs for governor, Watts said, “I think he could catch fire.”

[End]

I laughed out loud at that last line, since that’s exactly what every Democrat in Texas and Washington, DC said about “Abortion Barbie” Wendy Davis when she challenged Greg Abbott in the governor’s race in 2014. She ended up getting slaughtered by 21 percent of the vote.

Is Irish Bob, our favorite fake Hispanic, likely to challenge Abbott next year? Yeah, probably, although it’s a long way between now and November 2022. After all, the pampered child of millionaires who is married to the daughter of a billionaire doesn’t know how to do any honest work, so politics is the only option to get him out of the damn house.

And hey, Irish Bob has already clearly demonstrated that no one in Texas can pull in millions of Hollywood and New York dollars for a political race like he can. The Democrats are always desperate to find someone willing to be their sacrificial lamb for the governor’s race every four years – who can forget Lupe Valdez, Bill White or Chris Bell? – so having their media darling already teed up to go presents the party with a rare bird in the hand.

So jump on in, Irish Bob, the water’s fine.

This week’s Utter Lack of Self-Awareness Award goes to… – The little Menace to Society, Anthony Fauci, who told an interviewer this week that the United States has “done worse than most any other country” in its response to COVID-19:

Here’s an excerpt from that New York Post story:

Dr. Anthony Fauci says the US has “done worse than most any other country” in battling COVID-19.

With the country’s current 500,000-plus deaths nearly double the figure of Brazil, the nation with the next highest number of mortalities, Fauci told ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America” Monday, “It’s so tough to just go back and try and do a metaphorical autopsy on how things went. It was just bad.

“I believe that if you look back historically, we’ve done worse than most any other country — and we’re a highly developed, rich country,” the nation’s top infectious-disease doctor said.

“I think these numbers are just so stunning,” said the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said, the day the US passed the half-million-deaths mark.

“Remember back in the late winter, early spring, of 2020 when we were saying we could get as high as 240,000 [fatalities], and people were thinking we were being hyperbolic about it — and here we are with a half-million deaths.”

[End]

Ok, so, anybody out there see what the Little Menace seems to be missing here?

Who has without question been the leader of our country’s “strategy” in dealing with the viral gift from China? Who has been out in the media damn near every day urging Democrat governors to lockdown businesses, coop people up in their homes and wear masks despite there being not a shred of science or actual data indicating any of those approaches has the slightest positive impact on the spread of this virus? Who has been contradicting himself, constantly moving the goal posts and confusing the entire country in media appearances day after day after day?

Isn’t the correct answer to all of those questions and so many more “Anthony Fauci”?????

Seriously, how does this Little Menace still have a job? The damage he has done to our society over the last 12 months is simply incalculable. He has arguably done more harm to our society than any figure in history, yet you can be sure that he will be appearing on CNN or MSNBC again today, confusing the situation even more than he already has done.

Relying on this little totalitarian despot is the very worst mistake Donald Trump ever made. We will be paying for that decision for many years to come.

That is all.

1/3rd of ERCOT Board Resigns: Just 2/3rds More To Go

Throughout the cold blast of last week, much news was made about the fact that three of the key members of the board of the Electric (non) Reliability Council of Texas weren’t even from Texas. In fact, it turned out the chairman lives in Michigan, the vice-chair also lives out of state, along with one other member of the 15-member board.

Well, guess what? Those news reports actually understated the out-of-state issue with this board. Turns out that there were no fewer than five non-Texans running Texas’s power grid. Happily, each and every one one of them resigned yesterday, along with a sixth non-Texan who was scheduled to move onto the board in the coming weeks:

Five members of the board of directors at the entity that operates Texas’ electrical grid will resign from their posts on Wednesday, according to a notice posted to the Public Utility Commission website.

Board Chairwoman Sally Talberg, Vice Chairman Peter Cramton, and members Terry Bulger, Raymond Hepper and Vanessa Anesetti-Parra will all resign from their posts on Wednesday, during the next meeting of the board of directors of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT.

ERCOT has come under fire for its handling of widespread blackouts that left millions of Texans without power and water as the state faced subfreezing temperatures, snow and ice.

None of the five members resigning from their posts live in Texas.

“Our hearts go out to all Texans who have had to go without electricity, heat, and water during frigid temperatures and continue to face the tragic consequences of this emergency,” the letter reads. “We have noted recent concerns about out-of-state board leadership at ERCOT. To allow state leaders a free hand with future direction and to eliminate distractions, we are resigning from the board.”

Craig Ivey, who was set to fill a vacant position on the board, said in a separate letter that he was withdrawing his candidacy “in order to avoid becoming a distraction” due to his out-of-state residency.

[End]

Look, I love non-Texans, so don’t get me wrong here. But ERCOT is a quasi-government entity – technically a 501(c)(4) non-profit – that runs the grid that supplies 80% of the state with power. It reports directly to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). In a state with 28 million residents, it seems to most of us here in Texas that we ought to be able to find 15 actual Texans who know how to manage a power grid.

I mean, we don’t elect Michiganders to our state legislature, or Marylanders to serve as our governor, do we? The governor can’t appoint Californians or Alabamans to serve on our PUC, can he? We don’t have a Louisianan as our attorney general, even though that might end up being tons of fun and all manner of shenanigans.

At the end of the day, my one and only problem with these five folks leaving the board – from which they were likely to be fired, anyway – is that the number is not 15.

My suspicion is that, like any other semi-accountable board of this type, ERCOT’s board has become a big social club, a cushy assignment with a huge paycheck that none of its members take too seriously. I honestly can find no other explanation for the fact that, when this board met on February 9, as the first of 3 arctic fronts was already pouring into the state, it spent just 45 seconds (that’s not a typo) of a 2-hour meeting discussing preparation measures for what they already knew at that point would ultimately become a major winter weather event.

The fact that not one of the 15 members had a single question or concern about preparedness for such a major event that they wanted to raise in that meeting tells me that there are no serious people currently serving on that board.

So, 5 down and just 10 more to go. If they won’t voluntarily resign, then the PUC and Governor Abbott needs to resign them. In fact, after the clownshow Texans suffered through last week – with more than 70 human beings ending up dead – the entire organization needs to be demolished down to the studs and reconstituted. Only a bold move such as that will give Texans any comfort that we won’t just be living through a replay of last week again sometime in the near future.

Are you listening, Governor Abbott?

That is all.

Today’s Required Reading: Eyewitness to Provocateurs at the January 6 Capitol Riot

There has never been any real question to anyone paying attention that the January 6 riot at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC had all the hallmarks of a false flag operation that had been planned and prepared well in advance. Indeed, over the 7 weeks that have passed since the riot took place, more and more proof of that reality has come to light despite the best efforts of the Democrats and their toadies in the news media to ignore it.

At TheFederalist.com today, one eyewitness to the event, J. Michael Waller, a senior analyst for strategy at the Center for Security Policy, has published a long piece detailing his real-time eyewitness observations of the event. What he has to tell us only serves to confirm the initial impression of a classic false flag operation designed to interrupt congressional objections to the electoral vote tally and prevent any real investigation into the massive election fraud that took place on November 3 from ever taking place. Of course, it has since been used as an excuse to turn the nation’s capital into a permanent police state.

It’s a long, 25-30 minute read, but it is well worth that time investment.

Here are some outtakes from the piece to whet your appetite:

The deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol bore the markings of an organized operation planned well in advance of the Jan. 6 joint session of Congress.

A small number of cadre appeared to use the cover of a huge rally to stage its attack. Before it began, I saw from my vantage point on the West Front of the Capitol what appeared to be four separate cells or units:

  1. Plainclothes militants. Militant, aggressive men in Donald Trump and MAGA gear at a front police line at the base of the temporary presidential inaugural platform;
  2. Agents-provocateurs. Scattered groups of men exhorting the marchers to gather closely and tightly toward the center of the outside of the Capitol building and prevent them from leaving;
  3. Fake Trump protesters. A few young men wearing Trump or MAGA hats backwards and who did not fit in with the rest of the crowd in terms of their actions and demeanor, whom I presumed to be Antifa or other leftist agitators; and
  4. Disciplined, uniformed column of attackers. A column of organized, disciplined men, wearing similar but not identical camouflage uniforms and black gear, some with helmets and GoPro cameras or wearing subdued Punisher skull patches.

All of these cells or groups stood out from the very large crowd by their behavior and overall demeanor. However, they did not all appear at the same time. Not until the very end did it appear there was a prearranged plan to storm the Capitol building, and to manipulate the unsuspecting crowd as cover and as a follow-on force.

Of the thousands of people I passed or who passed me along Constitution Avenue, some were indignant and contemptuous of Congress, but not one appeared angry or incited to riot. Many of the marchers were families with small children; many were elderly, overweight, or just plain tired or frail—traits not typically attributed to the riot-prone.

Some said they were police officers from around the country. Many wore pro-police shirts or carried pro-police “Back the Blue” flags.

Diverse Cross-Section of America

Among the hundreds and hundreds of flags—perhaps thousands—displayed over the next few hours, I saw only two Confederate battle flags and one white supremacist sign, the latter of which some suspected aloud was a leftist plant. The two flags and one sign, I thought, would feature prominently in news reports to present a false image of the crowd.

A large group of African-American men sported shirts that said “Blacks for Trump.” Figuring that journalists would emphasize the solitary racist sign and Confederate flags, deliberately ignoring the rest, I took note of the fact that many demonstrators were black, Asian, and Latino, with a strong presence of Vietnamese- and Chinese-Americans.

Although the crowd represented a broad cross-section of Americans, mostly working-class by their appearance and manner of speech, some people stood out. A very few didn’t share the jovial, friendly, earnest demeanor of the great majority. Some obviously didn’t fit in.

Among them were younger twentysomethings wearing new Trump or MAGA hats, often with the visor in the back, showing no enthusiasm and either looking at the ground, glowering, or holding out their phones with outstretched arms to make videos of as many faces as possible in the crowd.

Some appeared awkward, the way someone’s body language inadvertently shows the world that he feel like he doesn’t fit in. A few seemed to be nursing a deep, churning rage.

They generally covered their faces with cloth masks, as opposed to the pro-Trump people, few of whom wore masks at all. They walked, often hands in pockets, in clusters of perhaps four to six with at least one of them frequently looking behind.

These outliers group looked like trouble. I presumed these fake Trump protesters were Antifa or something similar. However, that entire afternoon I saw none of them act aggressively or cause any problems. At least, not from my vantage point.

[End]

Baby Boomers Get a Bad Rap: Putting Boomers Into Context

Guest Piece by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

A new book by Helen Andrews, Boomers: The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster—and the accompanying review in American Greatness by Chris Buskirk is mostly an accurate snapshot of the generation that followed “the Greatest.” (https://amgreatness.com/2021/02/07/the-baby-boomers-dismal-legacy/)

Mostly.

There is a severe lack of context in judgments about Boomers as disasters. I have not come to praise the Boomers, but to put them in the context of their burial clothes. Without that context, one would mindlessly accept all the criticisms of the Gen-Xers and Millennials (who, so far, have shown no more ability to lead the world out of this morass than my own did).

First, it is true it’s “all about me” when it came to Boomers. The phrase in the 1960s was “if it feels good, do it.” (This was straight out of Roman Epicurean thought, which had its opposite in the Stoics: “If it feels good, don’t do it.”) Yes, much of the literature that has come out has been, as Buskirk puts it, hagigraphic. Yes, they did start celebrating themselves in college, probably with the culminating event in their lives Woodstock as opposed to America landing a man on the moon that same year. The latter was almost all the result of “The Greatest,” the former, entirely laid at the feet of Boomers who were either at the tail end of the “Greatest” or at its beginning. Of the groups that best epitomized Woodstock, think of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Jimi Hendrix. David Crosby (b. 1941), Graham Nash (1942), Steven Stills (1945), and Hendrix (1942) and you have a group who certainly had never even tasted the Great Depression. Their formative years did not start until World War II had ended. Throw in Frank Zappa (1940) and the quintuplet is complete.

Let us also remember that Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Elton John, Walter Payton, Cal Ripken, Jr., Steve Irwin, George Brett, Adrea Bocelli, Denzel Washington, Peter Jackson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sylvester Stallone, Jair Bolsonaro, Mel Gibson, Lionel Ritchie, Jack Ma, Hank Williams, Jr, Benjamin Netanyahu, Kurt Russell and Jordan Peterson are in this group. (So are a lot of baddies I won’t mention . . . cough, cough . . . O. J. Simpson, El Chapo, Jim Carrey, Jeff Bezos, and Ted Bundy). We could put in a dozen names on each side of the ledger.

What’s interesting is that there are fewer truly great entrepreneurs or scientists in the group. This has as much to do with the structure of society since 1950 as it does with any inherent weakness in people.  The fact that so many of the people who deserve notoriety in a positive sense are actors, musicians, or sports figures reflects as much that society had deemed those the best route to success from 1960 on as did did the “Greatest” with business, the military, or medicine. Yet the Boomer scientists gave us the artificial heart, the portable dialysis machine, the ambulatory infusion pump, controlled drug release technology, the universal serial bus port, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, the music synthesizer, text-to-speech technology, the world wide web, Viagra, DNA fingerprinting, the ethernet, Foxfibre naturally colored cotton, the automated external debifrillator, and the cell phone.

Fred Smith (1944) founded Fed Ex; Robert Kiyosaki (1947) became a leading motivational speaker; Richard Branson (1950), a British businessman; Jeff Bezos founded Amazon; and Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Apple. The fact that some of these giant companies later became quasi-monopolies or displayed characteristics incompatible with an American Republic was as much a fault of regulators (or even the public that consumed the products) as the creators themselves. After all, J. P. Morgan and John D. Rockefeller would have ridden the trusts as far as they could until stopped.

Second, there were powerful forces at work in America in the 1950s that shaped most of the Boomers as they entered college. And more of them entered college than any other previous generations. As the river of Boomers washed ashore on campuses in 1961-62, it was met by two other equally powerful steams. One was the massive influx of cash into colleges and universities due to the 1957-instigated reaction to the USSR’s Sputnik satellite. That money was meant for science and math, but once funds enter a university, they spread to the area of greatest power, namely the Humanities. (Americans, in their wisdom, had concluded that it was absolutely critical to teach everyone how to write well, speak well, and know their history.) At that same time, however, the wave of students and wave of money met a third tributary flowing the same direction, a newly-unleashed population of leftist professors who had been banned during the McCarthy era but, in the post-McCarthy backlash, were not only tolerated but welcomed on campus.

These “three streams” that converged, as Michael Allen and I wrote in A Patriot’s History of the United States, meant that more kids than ever would be coming out of school with degrees in something less likely to actually manufacture or produce anything and much more likely to emerge with an attitude somewhat hostile to the idea of America itself. A resulting shift away from invention, science, math, industry, and production and into arts, music, sports, finance, insurance, and writing led to the relative poor comparison to the “Titans of Prosperity” who led the phenomenal growth of the late 1800s. That is to say, it’s not all on the Boomers: they worked within the system they had, which was created by the “Greatest” in hopes of sparing Boomers from the hard life the “Greatest” faced.

All of which brings me to the constant comparison with the “Greatest”: yes, the “Greatest” generation did win World War II and Korea. Did they really have an alternative? But consider that in doing so, they were required by the government to adopt certain lifestyles that without war it’s unlikely they would have chosen. For example, the Second World War forced Americans (both in the armed forces and civilians at home) to save at unprecedented levels. There was nothing to spend money on because of rationing and because the government had shut down production of all but war-related goods. For more than four years, Americans saved their paychecks in the most remarkable forced-savings burst in American history. When they emerged from the war, they let loose with a frenzy of home buying and auto purchases. At the same time, young men were required to adopt “manly” and traditional roles as protectors, heroes, providers, and producers. Again, there was no alternative. The process involving male development—manly, masculine developmen—was not optional. Thus those who wax romantic about the “Greatest” need to ask, “Would they have been so great if it were not forced on them?” And, “would other generations rise to the occasion if such were forced on them?”

Andrews’ book is the equivalent of Paul Johnson’s Intellectuals (1988) that dissected many of the leading thinkers of the pre-modern era, mostly in a negative context. Johnson apparently felt so badly about how he assessed genius (even malevolent) that he followed up with a much more positive work, Creators (2006). While Buskirk and Andrews lament the “spend, spend, spend” mentality, they seem to ignore the fact that to spend, spend, spend you have to make, make, make. Home prices (and Boomer wealth) rose, yes, in part to loose federal regulations but to a far greater degree because Boomers (thanks to the auto) were far more mobile than any previous generation and because they literally bought into the American dream of home ownership.

Finally, before bashing Boomers, one might ask: what the hell have the Gen-Xers, the Millennials, and the iGeners done to improve things? The Millennials’ view is that of “social justice” through group action—but not real individual sacrifice. About the only Greenie I can think of who actually lived his ideology was Ed Begley, Jr. who composted and lived “small.” Millennials and a handful of Gen-Xers had their hands on the levers of government and the machinery of regulation for years, yet under their watch not only did the housing boom turn into a collapse in 2007-08, but their regulations largely caused it. Their do-good environmental restrictions have resulted in more people dying due to lack of energy and fewer people crawling out of poverty—all so they can feel like they “made a difference.”

Sorry. Don’t rag on Boomers to me. I am one. Mike Allen and I made our contribution with A Patriot’s History of the United States. What did you do, little Millennial?

The New York Times Gets it Half Right on Texas Blackouts

Hey, half-right is better than the New York Times normally does whenever writing about Texas, so I suppose we should applaud the authors of the piece I’m looking at this morning, titled “Texas Power Grid Run by ERCOT Set Up the State for Disaster.” Like so many other slanted media reports over the past week on this subject, the Times gets some things right while ignoring inconvenient realities that end up causing the writers to miss the fundamental point.

While most of the facts the piece lays out are in fact accurate, the headline gets the fundamental problem wrong: The power grid itself didn’t set the state up for the disaster; the failure of the people who manage the grid to recognize the utter folly of their ways did. Of course, since the folly that those grid managers at ERCOT engaged in was to focus all their efforts over the last decade on incentivizing the building of more and more wind and solar in Texas while refusing to recognize the reality that those sources of energy would fail us in a weather emergency like the one that took place last week, the leftwingers at the Times didn’t want to focus on that reality.

Perhaps the key paragraph in the entire piece is this one, which illustrates the perilous position that the failures of ERCOT had put the state in when the winter storms began to hit the state on February 9:

One example of how Texas has gone it alone is its refusal to enforce a “reserve margin” of extra power available above expected demand, unlike all other power systems around North America. With no mandate, there is little incentive to invest in precautions for events, such as a Southern snowstorm, that are rare. Any company that took such precautions would put itself at a competitive disadvantage.

[End]

Though factually accurate as far as it goes, this paragraph is where the entire thesis of the piece falls apart. While the facts presented in the paragraph are fundamentally true, the slant by the writers in blaming it all on the evil (in any liberal’s mind) “de-regulation” is simply not correct. What the authors ignore in this paragraph is the fact that, while natural gas prices were high during the first decade under the de-regulated system, Texas had a boom in the building of new combined-cycle natural gas power plants, which have enabled Texas to retire much of its fleet of coal-fired plants and lead the nation in emissions reductions over that time frame.

See, the part of the system these authors don’t inform their readers about is the fact that ERCOT’s de-regulated system allows power providers to base their rates to consumers – which appears as a “fuel charge” on our bills – on the price for the highest-cost fuel source, which from 2000-2009 was consistently natural gas. It was that higher fuel charge that provided the incentive to build all of those new, clean, natural gas plants in the first ten years of this century.

But the fundamental failure of ERCOT came when the price for natural gas began to collapse to chronic lower levels in 2009, where it has remained ever since. When gas prices began to collapse in 2009, my own summer-time electricity bills quickly dropped from ~$500 per month to half of that. The loss of that income from millions of consumers robbed the market of the incentives to build new baseload power.

Lacking that profit incentive, and with no other incentivization being provided by ERCOT or the Texas legislature, power providers have since chosen to invest their capital dollars elsewhere. Meanwhile, ERCOT’s policies have continued to heavily incentivize the build-out of new wind and solar, both of which failed the state so miserably during this crisis, which I detailed for readers in a piece posted last night:

Just so everyone knows that all forms of power generation in Texas failed us to some extent this past week, I wanted you all to see the chart below. Here is what it shows, in terms of the % of power loss by energy source from 11:00 p.m. Feb 14 [At the peak of the chart] to 11:00 p.m. Feb 17, when 4 million Texans were without power:

May be an image of text

Natural Gas fell from 43 mwh to 32 mwh, a loss of 26%

Solar dropped from 1 mwh to ZERO, a loss of 100%

Wind dropped from 8 mwh to 3 mwh, a loss of a whopping 63%

Coal fell from 12 mwh to 8 mwh, a loss of 33%

Nuclear fell from 4 mwh to 3mwh, a loss of 25%

It is also key to note here that, from midnight on February 9, when the first blast of cold weather began to set in across the state, until 11:00 p.m., February 14, when output peaked, Natural Gas rose from 14 mwh to 43 mwh, or roughly 300%. Over that same span of time, Wind dropped from about 30 mwh to 8 mwh, or about 72%.

So, although a relative handful of natural gas power plants did freeze up, either due to the weather or due to lack of natural gas supply as some pipelines also lost pressure, the unarguable fact of the matter is that so-called “renewables” were utterly useless to Texas consumers during this life-threatening emergency, and that without Natural Gas, the entire state would have been left freezing in the dark.

[End]

ERCOT has known for years now – and has informed the PUC and the legislature of this on a regular basis – that the Texas grid lacks adequate reserve capacity to get us through a weather calamity such as the one just past. We don’t have enough baseload reserves, and literally everyone has known that (or should have known it), yet no one in a position of authority has had the political will to force that to chance.

Here is where the NY Times writers get the fundamental issue right, in the following paragraph:

With so many cost-conscious utilities competing for budget-shopping consumers, there was little financial incentive to invest in weather protection and maintenance. Wind turbines are not equipped with the de-icing equipment routinely installed in the colder climes of the Dakotas and power lines have little insulation. The possibility of more frequent cold-weather events was never built into infrastructure plans in a state where climate change remains an exotic, disputed concept.

[End]

Indeed, the same features of the de-regulated market that have saved Texas consumers billions over the last 20 years have created this lack of incentivization to build new capacity and to properly winterize pipelines and power generation facilities. The heavy competition by power providers to offer the lowest rates to consumers created a cost-cutting and cost-saving mania among the generators, and any costs not required by regulators have naturally been avoided.

Here’s the other fact that the NY Times writers omit: Even with the lack of adequate reserve power generation capacity, last week’s blackouts would have been avoided had pipeline operators and power generators properly winterized their plants. But, as I’ve written several times over the past week, winterization has been suggested and encouraged by regulators, but it has never been required.

Another aspect of all of this that the Times writers leave out of their story is what happened in the cities of Austin and San Antonio last week, and is continuing into this week. Both of those cities run their own, city-owned and regulated power systems, although they do purchase much of their electricity from the same power providers that generate electricity for the Texas grid. The blackouts in both of those “regulated” cities were far more severe than those across the rest of the state, and both cities are still under “boil water” advisories today due to their water systems having lost power for several days.

Bottom line: This was not a disaster that was directly caused by the liberal boogeyman of “de-regulation.” This disaster was caused by the utter failure of the managers of that system (ERCOT) and the policymakers who oversee them (PUC, legislature) to adequately deal with a dangerous situation that they have all been well aware of for more than a decade now.

Blaming the “system” is what biased journalists and regulators do to shift blame and avoid taking responsibility for their own inactions. The “system” in Texas isn’t the problem: The human beings are.

That is all.

That is according to the official data coming from ERCOT and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. So, next time you see the leftwingers at the Texas Tribune or Houston Chronicle or New York Times or CNN tell you it was all the fault of natural gas, you know they’re really failing to tell the real story.

Sunday News Roundup: Fact-checkers Disappear as Dems Lard up the ‘Stimulus’ Bill With Pork

I write at length in another piece this morning about the media smear of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for putting his state’s elderly population first in line to receive the COVID vaccines. But that is far from the only media smear of DeSantis happening right now.

The Florida Governor is also being smeared for…wait for it…his efforts to ensure election integrity! No kidding:

From the story at BigLeaguePolitics:

Florida had the most transparent and efficient election anywhere in the country,” DeSantis said. “Other states took days, weeks, and even months to count their votes. And yet Florida, by midnight on election night, we had 99% reporting and 11 million votes counted, tabulated, and put out to the public.”

Florida’s legislature had moved to reform the state’s election practices in the interests of reporting brevity and election integrity following the disputed 2000 presidential election. The results of Florida’s presidential election were available and clear on election night in November, with other states implementing mass-in voting for the first time struggling to report results for several days or even weeks.

DeSantis’ proposal wouldn’t eliminate mail-in voting in Florida. It would merely require every voter who wishes to vote by mail to request a mail-in ballot every election, as opposed to mailing millions of ballots without verifying addresses and identities.

Under the package, only someone’s family member could drop off their ballot, in a move designed to prevent suspect political front groups from “harvesting” ballots. This would establish a clear chain of custody from the voter to the state without unnecessary third parties.

The comprehensive package would also require counties and municipalities to make election results public and transparent in timely fashion.

[End]

You just can’t make this stuff up, folks.

But wait, there’s more!

DeSantis is also under fire this weekend for taking this action on Friday:

That’s right: He’s the only governor in the country who is paying appropriate tribute to the single most influential media figure in our nation’s history. So naturally, the DC/New York Democrat media propaganda machine – who all hated Rush – are up in arms smearing DeSantis over this move, too.

If that doesn’t convince you that DeSantis is right at the top of potential GOP presidential nominees for 2024, then you aren’t paying attention. Assuming Donald Trump chooses not to make another bid, DeSantis is in fact the most likely to become the nominee at this moment in time.

I’m old enough to remember when a U.S. President got blamed for every one of these deaths by the corrupt national news media. – Yeah, but that was a month ago. Now that a Democrat sock puppet is in office, he won’t get blamed for the fact that more than 100,000 Americans supposedly died from COVID-19 during the first month of his presidency:

That, of course, is according to the official count, which we have all known for almost a year now is radically overblown. But still, 100,000 in a month seems like a lot, doesn’t it? Seems like something CNN and MSNBC and all of your local news stations would maybe take a moment to note, and maybe even display ticker at the bottom of the screen as a constant reminder. Right?

But all of those tickers have magically disappeared now, gone the moment China Joe Biden was sworn into the presidency. Funny how that works.

Guess what else has magically disappeared from the corrupt news media? – If you said “fact-checkers,” you win the prize. Remember how CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times and all the alphabet broadcast networks had full-time presidential fake fact-checkers on staff to obsess over every word a certain ex-president had to say?

Yeah, they’re all gone now:

From the story at Mediaite:

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale was one of the busiest people in the cable news business for several years, but he has almost completely disappeared from the network’s programming over the past month or so. What happened?

Dale became a veritable household name among cable news viewers during Trump’s presidency after his work for the Toronto Star, tallying and debunking false or misleading statements by Trump, landed him a national gig with CNN.

Since joining CNN in June of 2019, Dale has appeared or been mentioned on the network more than once every other day on average, according to the Internet Archive.

That exposure dropped sharply after November 4, and according to the TV Eyes media monitoring database, since President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, Dale has only appeared on the network once. And that appearance, last Friday, was to fact-check Donald Trump’s lawyers.

[End]

That’s right: CNN’s “fact-checker” has made only one on-air appearance since China Joe was installed into the White House, and that was to “fact-check” lawyers for Donald Trump.

Nevermind that you could have kept an army of fact-checkers busy for a full week just to correct all the rank BS Biden spewed during his CNN town hall last week with Cooper Anderson, er, Anderson Cooper, that job will not be available for the next four years because it doesn’t fit neatly into the agenda of the Democrat Party and its army of operatives who infest the national news media.

*sigh*

What’s the most predictable thing in the world? – Democrats pushing pork.

That’s what they’re doing in this $1.9 trillion “stimulus” bill – larding it up with hundreds of billions of dollars in wasteful spending on leftist political projects:

From the story at RedState.com:

House Democrats finally released their long-awaited $1.9 trillion Wuhan coronavirus relief bill.

It probably wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to predict that it would be packed full of goodies for the friends of Democrats like the prior “relief” bills, seeming less about “relief” to help desperate Americans and more like doling out pork for pet causes.

Same song, 10,000th verse from your Democrat Party. Some things never change.

That is all.

The DC/New York Media Establishment is Scared to Death of Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz

How do you know when the corrupt news media is scared to death of any Republican politician? – When they start making up fake scandals about him or her.

That is of course what the corrupt hacks serving as Democrat toadies throughout our despicable national media establishment have been doing to Ron DeSantis since he became Governor of the Sunshine State in January 2019. None of them have stuck because he’s a clean guy running a clean administration, but that still does not stop the fake reporters and editors in the DC/New York media Democrat propaganda arm from trying.

This week saw yet another fake scandal materialize in the media’s never-ending efforts to damage the guy they obviously consider to be among the strongest likely contenders for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. Check out this tweet from the depraved hacks who run MSNBC:

Here’s a little snippet from that insane story:

Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic and his Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan has been marked by chaos, but critics say he’s been quick to recognize the political gold in those precious doses.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, ignored federal guidelines and prioritized getting senior citizens — one of Florida’s most potent voting blocs — vaccinated first.

When Holocaust survivors and Cuban survivors of the Bay of Pigs debacle — revered members of two other key Florida voting blocs — got their first shots, DeSantis made sure he was there for the news conferences.

And now the governor stands accused of using the Covid-19 vaccine to reward powerful political supporters and developers by setting up pop-up vaccination sites in planned communities they developed and where GOP voters predominate.

Responding to recent criticism from both Republican and Democrats in Manatee and Charlotte counties, both south of Tampa, where one site was set up last week and another began dispensing doses on Wednesday, DeSantis said local lawmakers should be more grateful

“I’ll tell you what, I wouldn’t be complaining,” the governor said. “I’d be thankful that we are able to do it.”

[End]

So, understand what’s happening here: Gov. DeSantis is being smeared for the sin of refusing to prioritize vaccines based on the race/gender/LGBTQ priorities preferred by the Democrats and the media. Instead, he is prioritizing elderly Americans, regardless of race/gender/sexual orientation or BLM stamp of approval to be the first to receive the shots.

Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE SEGMENT OF OUR POPULATION TO THE VIRAL GIFT FROM CHINA.

Honest to God, that’s what this smear is all about. If you think that’s despicable and depraved and more than a little bit demented and disgraceful, well, that’s all the proof you need to know that everyone pushing this smear in the media is in fact a Democrat operative.

Note also how the story begins with this first completely false smear: “Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic…”

DeSantis was in fact among the quickest to respond the pandemic in his state. How did he respond? By moving to protect the elderly, especially elderly residents in his state’s nursing homes and assisted living communities, so many of whom moved to Florida from New York for their retirements.

Those who moved are the lucky New Yorkers, since the Governor of that state, Andrew Cuomo, sentenced thousands of elderly nursing home patients to their deaths through his insane policy choices related to COVID.

But the media has chosen to lionize Cuomo for the past year, while at the same time endlessly harassing DeSantis, the guy who made sure his elderly residents had the very best chance of living through the pandemic, and is now making sure they are among the first to be inoculated. DeSantis’s choice to focus efforts on the most vulnerable segments of his state’s population is in fact the very reason why the Democrat media hacks hate him and continue to harass him.

Yes, that is insane. But that is what our utterly corrupt national news media does for Democrats.

For more proof of exactly how despicable the media truly is, let’s close this piece with this tweet:

That’s right: The Washington Post has now run 27 separate stories about Ted Cruz’s family vacation, but just 2 on Cuomo’s mass killings of elderly New Yorkers and his efforts to cover them up.

That’s the very definition of despicable.

That is all.

The COVID Pandemic Could be Ending – and That’s a Real Problem for Biden

Lots of media chatter happening today about the dramatic fall in COVID-19 infection and hospitalization rates since the first of the year. Here are some examples:

It seems the vaccines that were fast-tracked by the Trump Administration are proving even more effective than first thought, thanks to the rapid distribution and administering program implemented by the Trump team, which had more than 1 million doses being delivered every day by the time China Joe Biden was installed into the presidency. That reality, combined with the build-up of herd immunity in the country is now leading to a dramatic drop in the infection, hospitalization and death rates related to the viral gift from China.

From the New York Post story linked above:

A Johns Hopkins professor and surgeon says that the coronavirus could be “mostly gone” by April.

Marty Makary, who teaches at the university’s School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health, said in an opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal on Friday that daily infections have declined by 77 percent since January.

“There is reason to think the country is racing toward an extremely low level of infection,” Makary wrote. “As more people have been infected, most of whom have mild or no symptoms, there are fewer Americans left to be infected. At the current trajectory, I expect COVID will be mostly gone by April, allowing Americans to resume normal life.”

Vaccinations and the high number of people who have already been infected in the US — more than 28 million — could contribute to herd immunity in the spring, Makary said. Herd immunity occurs when enough people become immune to a virus, ending its spread. Makary also said it would protect against new strains of the coronavirus from spreading.

“When the chain of virus transmission has been broken in multiple places, it’s harder for it to spread — and that includes the new strains,” he said.

[End]

Of course, none of this is in any way in the Biden/Fauci plan to keep Americans holed up in their homes and wearing double-masks into perpetuity. Even worse, it is crystal clear that these suddenly much more positive outlooks are the result of actions taken by the Trump administration, and that neither Biden nor his evil handlers can take credit for any of it.

Thus, the only recourse available for the Biden people to take is of course to try to revise history, which is why we saw the DC Swamp Sock Puppet-in-Chief say this on Friday:

BIDEN: “Just over four weeks ago, America had no real plan to vaccinate most of the country. My predecessor, as my mother would say, ‘failed to order enough vaccines,’ failed to mobilize the effort to administer the shots… That changed the moment we took office.”

This is obviously an outright lie, but hey, he’s a Democrat, so what else would we expect?

To be clear: Nothing changed the moment Biden took office. In fact, it is painfully obvious from his and Fauci’s constantly-shifting narratives that they had no plan whatsoever related to COVID-19 on January 20, and still don’t have any real plan – other than to needlessly keep schools closed at the behest of teacher’s unions – today, one full month later.

And now, their plan to keep Americans frightened and masked for years to come is imperiled by the solutions made possible by the executive actions of Donald J. Trump.

For actual Americans, the potential for their lives to return to something resembling normalcy is cause for celebration. But for Biden and his fellow Democrats, it’s the worst possible scenario.

That’s the truth, and we shouldn’t be shy about saying it.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: Biden Declares that ‘America is back’ to Bowing to International Despots

This is what the left has wrought. – Speaking before the G-7 Summit on Friday, China Joe Biden declared “America is back,” and unilaterally surrendered American interests to Europe, China, and Russia. Because that’s what internationalists do. Calling an end to “America first” diplomacy, Biden signaled that the U.S. government would ensure that the interest of its citizens once again become subservient to other nations in a return to globalism.

From the story at DailyWire:

President Biden told leaders at the G-7 summit on Friday, the same day the U.S. reentered the Paris Agreement, that the days of “America First” diplomacy championed by former President Trump were over, according toThe New York Times.

As The New York Post, which cited Biden’s intent to declare on Friday that the “America First” era was over, noted, “Biden has swiftly dismantled Trump’s foreign policy agenda, which saw the U.S. withdraw from the World Health Organization, the Paris Agreement and the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump believed were against the nation’s interests.”

One official told the Post, “Now he will get the opportunity as president of the United States early in his term to declare that America is back and the trans-Atlantic alliance is back. He will look forward to driving home the core proposition that the trans-Atlantic alliance is a cornerstone for American engagement in the world in the 21st century, just as it was in the 20th.”

Biden claimed, “America is back, the trans-Atlantic alliance is back … we are not looking backward.” He stated, “We have to prove that our model isn’t a relic of history. We must demonstrate that democracies can still deliver for our people in this changed world. That is our galvanizing mission. Democracy doesn’t happen by accident. We have to defend it. Strengthen it. Renew it.”

The G-7 group includes the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom in its organization.

[End]

So, we’re back in the worthless Paris Climate Accords, in which we are the only nation on earth that, thanks to the use of natural gas in power generation to displace coal, has already met our emissions goals through 2025. We will now fork over billions every year to be redistributed to the world’s other grasping nations under that agreement.

We’re back in the World Health Organization, that mouthpiece for China whose budget we pay a wildly disproportionate share. And we’re back “negotiating” with Iran so that we can go back to subsidizing the Mullahs’ pursuit of becoming a nuclear power, as we did during the Obama/Biden years.

All of this in Biden’s first month serving as our national DC Swamp sock puppet-in-chief.

We are so screwed.

The Sock Puppet was traveling yesterday. – During a trip to Michigan to visit a facility run by COVID vaccine manufacturer Pfizer, the Sock Puppet told reporters that the economy – which was in a major recovery while Donald Trump was still in the White House, but has faded since – won’t recover until “we beat this virus.”

From the story at The Daily Caller:

President Joe Biden said Friday that the American economy won’t recover “until we beat this virus.”

“I got a letter from more than 400 mayors from big cities and small towns. They understand we’re not gonna get our economy back in shape and the millions of people back to work until we beat this virus,” Biden said during a visit to a Pfizer facility in Michigan that manufactures coronavirus vaccines.

[End]

Meanwhile, this was what his brother Frank Biden was doing Thursday night:

Image

That’s Frank on the left, partying with Floyd Mayweather and a couple of his mask-less pals. Yeah, the Biden family’s really serious about beating this virus, huh?

Repeat after me: The fence is permanent. The fence is permanent. The fence is permanent. – To no one’s real surprise, the head of the DC Capitol Police yesterday was making the rounds, urging members of congress to continue funding the wall, er, ‘fence’ around the capitol building and the 7,000 National Guard troops who remain deployed in DC through at least September.

From the story at JustTheNews.com:

U.S. Capitol Police officials are telling Washington lawmakers the recently installed security fencing should stay up until at least September, citing continuing security concerns, according to a news report Friday.

The plan is being reported by CNN, based on information from a source familiar with the matter.

The fencing was installed after the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol and before the Jan. 20 inauguration of President Biden.

The roughly 7-foot-high, chain-linked fence, topped with razor wire, was supposed to be removed in March. But its future, like many matters in Washington, is caught in political crosswinds.

“While there is no specific, credible threat to the homeland at this time, DHS continues to gather, review, and analyze new intelligence each day and regularly updates its federal, state, local, tribal, and non-governmental partners on the results of those efforts,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told CNN. “The most significant terrorism-related threat currently facing the nation comes from lone offenders and small groups of individuals inspired by domestic extremist ideological beliefs, including those based on false narratives spread over social media and other online platforms.”

[End]

Get that? He wants it to stay there through “at least” September, at which time he will no doubt urge it remain for another year or two years or four years or however long the DC Swamp believes they must “temporarily” extend it until the public has completely forgotten the days when it wasn’t there and become fully acclimated to it. In other words, as long as it takes to boil the proverbial frog.

The wall, er, ‘fence’ is permanent, as is the National Guard presence in the nation’s capitol. It is permanent because the denizens of the swamp know this government is illegitimate, and they know that we know it. Just as is the case in third-world countries all over the globe, the only way to ensure an illegitimate government remains in power is trough the force and protection of the military.

The Capitol wall, er, ‘fence’ is part of that protection. Washington, DC is a police state. Get used to it.

From our You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up file… – Try to imagine the outrage if this internal Coca Cola training regime urged employees to be “less black” or “less Asian” or “less Hispanic”:

I would say this is unbelievably racist, but hey, it’s all too believable in today’s society.

If Coca-Cola management attempted to apply this training to Black, Asian or Hispanic folks, the company would be hounded out of business by the media and the government, and deservedly so. But because the company’s bigotry is directed at White people, no one in the corrupt news media will even bother to report the story.

Hey, what’s wrong? China Joe Biden says it’s all just a cultural difference.:

Hilarious. Does anyone doubt for a single second that Alisyn Camerota voted for Joe Biden? Of course she did.

Friday News Roundup: Cuomo’s Problems Continue to Mount as Biden’s Broken COVID Promises Pile Up

You just could never make this stuff up, folks. – If you thought that the Democrats’ second failed impeachment effort directed at former President Donald Trump would put an end to their five-year campaign of persecution towards him, well, think again. It seems that hounding this man is all the Democrats in congress know how to do anymore, an extremely hard addiction to just put down cold turkey.

Thus it was that on Thursday,  a group of literally insane, hate-filled House Democrats introduced HR 484, ironically titled the “No Glory for Hate Act”:

May be an image of text

Yes, that’s right: Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have nothing better to do than waste their time writing bills that would ban Donald Trump from being buried in Arlington National Cemetery, where he most likely had no desire to be buried in any event. After all, why would a man whose entire rationale for running for the presidency was to dismantle the DC Swamp want to be buried on a hill overlooking the freaking DC Swamp?

Just one more glowing example of why, if Democrats didn’t already exist, you could never in a million years make them up.

Today’s Short-Term Memory Reminder: Just a reminder that the same liberals who have spend the last 24 hours feigning outrage about Ted Cruz going to Cancun have expressed ZERO outrage about…

 – Gavin Newsom at French Laundry
 – Ralph Northam at his NC beach house
 – Lori Lightfoot getting her hair done
 – Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done
 – Nancy Pelosi showing of her $50k Sub-zero refrigerator/freezer set filled with gallon upon gallon of designer ice cream
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera
Pardon me, libs, if I don’t take your outrage about Sen. Cruz very seriously at all.

Andrew Cuomo Killing the Old Folks Update. – The problems from his mass-sentencing of thousands of his state’s nursing home residents to death in their nursing homes continue to pile up for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The scandal has now grown to such proportions that even sleazy old Alec Baldwin is so repulsed that he felt the need to weight in his thoughts on the matter yesterday:

Man, when even a slug like Alec Baldwin finds your behavior too sleazy to defend, you know you’re in trouble. Of course, note that Baldwin, a hard-core leftist ghoul, is not angry about Cuomo’s killing the old folks: He’s just mad because Cuomo tried to make another Democrat an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Back to the topic of Cuomo’s killing of the old folks, The Empire State Center for Public Policy issued the first formal report on the matter yesterday, finding that Cuomo is responsible for the death of more than 1,000 New Yorkers:

From the story at the New York Post:

The Cuomo administration’s controversial directive for nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients amid the pandemic likely did lead to a spike in resident deaths, an analysis of its own data revealed Thursday.

The study by the nonprofit Empire Center for Public Policy tied “several hundred and possibly more than 1,000” fatalities to the since-rescinded March 25, 2020, order that critics have blamed for spreading the coronavirus among vulnerable seniors.

The analysis also suggests the controversial mandate is “associated with” more than one in six of 5,780 nursing deaths statewide between late March and early May.

“The findings contradict a central conclusion of the state Department of Health’s July 6 report on coronavirus in nursing homes, which said, among other things: ‘Admission policies were not a significant factor in nursing home fatalities,’ and ‘the data do not show a consistent relationship between admissions and increased mortality,’ ” according to a draft report prepared by the Empire Center.

The DOH report primarily blamed the spread of COVID-19 in nursing homes on infected but asymptomatic staffers and visitors, and has repeatedly been cited by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to deny any responsibility — even though he himself had warned on March 29, “Coronavirus in a nursing home is like fire in dry grass.”

[End]

Oh. As I note elsewhere this morning, the corrupt news media is doing its best to try to shift focus away from the Cuomo story, but is having a hard time doing it as new revelations just keep coming to light. Cuomo is their darling, after all, every but as much as were the Creepy Porn Lawyer and the pedo-hugging members of the Lincoln Project.

It remains to be seen how much longer this focus on Cuomo’s crimes can last, but it sure is fun while it’s happening. This man is a ghoul whose behavior is more deserving of prison time than the Governor’s mansion.

I’m old enough to remember when China Joe promised to base his COVID decisions on “science.” – Yeah, those were good times, weren’t they? Remember those promises during the campaign about having a real “plan” to hit the ground running on COVID his first day in office? Remember the promises about speeding up vaccine distribution and getting our kids back in school?

Yeah, those were all lies. But hey, Biden’s a Democrat, so of course they were all lies. But now it turns out that Biden and fellow sock puppet Kamala Harris have already broken so many promises that even some Democrats are tiring of it. Jake Tapper, a Democrat agent posing as a journalist at CNN, went off on Democrat hack Abby Phillip on his show yesterday, after she recited some smarmy lies trying to justify keeping the schools closed:

From the story at Redstate:

“Why is it so tough for the Biden administration to give a straight, clear answer on this question of when schools should open?” Jake Tapper wondered on Wednesday.

“I think that they are torn,” Phillip replied. “Look, the teachers unions are a very powerful Democratic constituency and they feel very strongly that teachers should at the very least all be vaccinated before returning to the school.

It’s delusional. Most schools are already open, without problems. But the Biden team doesn’t even want to admit that. Because to admit that would push the question on the rest. So they do this weird thing of setting goals that have already been met before Biden even came in and until yesterday gave these evasive responses to the questions about vaccinations.

As we previously reported, CNN’s John Berman chastised Kamala Harris’ spokes person, Symone Sanders for not giving a straight answer on vaccination of teachers.

CNN isn’t the only one busting the Biden team on this, even WaPo made up a video of all the changing stories from the Biden team.

[End]

For the 100th time: There is no ‘science’ behind keeping our schools closed for COVID. There is only politics. Period. The politics at play here are due to the fact that Biden and his handlers are afraid to offend the powerful teacher’s unions.

That’s all it is. All else is lies.

That is all.

Ted Cruz Becomes This Week’s Media Shiny Object

Just another shiny object for the media to distract you with. – The first few weeks of the sock puppet Biden administration have been a disastrous time for Democrats. Among other horrific stories, the elderly, brain-addled Biden and his fellow Democrats have created the following raft of negative stories:

– More than 85,000 Americans dead of COVID;

– Tens of thousands of jobs cancelled by Biden’s first-day executive orders, at least 10,000 of which were in the oil and gas industry;

– New York Governor Andrew Cuomo responsible for the deaths of thousands of Biden’s fellow elderly citizens in his state’s nursing homes;

– Cuomo now under investigation by both the FBI and the New York Attorney General’s office;

– Biden and Anthony Fauci both ignoring actual science by c0nspiring with teacher’s unions to needlessly keep our kids out of school;

– Biden’s anti-oil and gas policies causing skyrocketing gasoline prices;

– Biden’s ramping up of the U.S. interventionist war machine;

…and on and on and on it goes.

Biden’s friends in the corrupt news media needed a shiny object to use to distract the public’s attention from all of these hugely negative stories, because that is what the media does for Democrats. On Thursday, they found their bright and shiny object in the form of Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Senator Cruz decided to follow through on a long-planned spring break trip with his kids down to Cancun, you see. When he arrived, some fellow Americans recognized him and posted video of him on their social media accounts. Smelling a bright and shiny object in the making, corrupt fake reporters decided to pick up on the story and chastise the Senator for abandoning Texas when it was in the midst of a major winter storm that had millions of Texans struggling without electrical power in their homes.

Here’s a sampling of the idiotic stories run by the Texas and national news media:

Man, Democrat media agent Chris Hayes even managed to get in a shot at the late Rush Limbaugh while taking shots at Cruz, a real media two-fer badge of honor.

If Ted Cruz happened to be Governor of Texas, or even a member of the state’s Public Utilities Commission or holder of a seat in the Texas Legislature, this would have been an actual legitimate news story. After all, people in any of those offices have an actual role to play in what happens with the Texas power grid. Any of those folks leaving the state during this weather emergency would have deserved to be literally tarred and feathered, not just slammed by a biased media.

But a United States senator like Cruz has zero role to play in determining how electricity is delivered to the 28 million citizens of Texas and the businesses that serve them. Where he goes this week literally makes no difference to anyone else. Well, except to “news” reporters desperate to focus on something, anything other than the disastrous beginning for the China Joe Biden sock puppet presidency.

For being a good dad, Senator Cruz became this week’s shiny object, and now his kids will have to vacation in Cancun without their dad. Because that is what the corrupt news media in this country does for the Democrat party.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Andrew Cuomo Might be in Real Trouble

Andrew Cuomo could be in real trouble, finally. – I know it’s hard to believe that any Democrat public official in this country could ever be in real trouble, given the devoted efforts of the entirety of the corrupt national news media to provide cover for them. Least of all, Andrew Cuomo, who the media has virtually deified during the COVID pandemic, pretending that his utterly disastrous responses to the virus were somehow a role model for other governors to emulate.

But he really could be in trouble now, mainly because even his fellow Democrats in New York are beginning to turn against him in the wake of revelations that his administration systematically and intentionally under-reported the number of elderly residents who were dying in the state’s nursing homes, thanks mainly to Cuomo’s policy of sending them to those homes from hospitals before their course of treatment had ended, and while they were still contagious. It seems that even some Democrats don’t really want to be seen as supporting a governor who is responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of their own people.

On Wednesday, Democrat state representative Ron Kim told reporters that Cuomo had threated to “destroy” him if he didn’t help Cuomo chief of staff Melissa DeRosa cover up the administration’s systematic under-reporting of nursing home deaths, an effort DeRosa herself led on Cuomo’s behalf.

From a story at The Hill:

New York Assemblyman Ron Kim (D) told CNN on Wednesday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) had threatened him over the phone after he criticized the governor over a pause in the release of data on coronavirus deaths in state nursing homes.

“Gov. Cuomo called me directly on Thursday to threaten my career if I did not cover up for Melissa [DeRosa] and what she said. He tried to pressure me to issue a statement, and it was a very traumatizing experience,” Kim told CNN.

“We’re in this business together and we don’t cross certain lines,” Kim said the governor told him. He also said Cuomo told him that he “hadn’t seen his wrath and that he can destroy me.”

Top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa told state lawmakers during a virtual meeting that the Cuomo administration “froze” releasing information on long-term care facility deaths out of concern that the Department of Justice (DOJ) under former President Trump would launch a federal investigation.

[End]

Oh. Bad optics, there, Governor. But not really surprising given his family’s historic ties to the New York mob.

But things are just getting worse for the thug-in-chief. This morning, multiple outlets are reporting that Cuomo now finds himself under investigation by both the FBI and the New York State Attorney General’s office.

From the story at DailyWire:

New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is under investigation by the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, as well as the FBI, for his administration’s decision to send recovering coronavirus patients into nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, local New York media reported Wednesday night.

According to the Albany Times-Union, the U.S. Attorney’s investigation is in its “early stages” but is focusing on Cuomo’s controversial nursing home policy, which may have resulted in thousands of deaths, many more than the Cuomo administration originally reported.

“The probe by the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York is apparently in its early stages and is focusing on the work of some of the senior members of the governor’s task force, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter who is not authorized to comment publicly,” the Times-United noted.

“Last March, as the virus began spreading in New York, Cuomo issued a news release listing the 13 initial members of his coronavirus task force, which has been headed by Linda Lacewell, an attorney and former chief of staff for Cuomo,” the outlet reported. “Lacewell is the superintendent of the state Department of Financial Services. Other task force members include state health Commissioner Howard Zucker, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa and Beth Garvey, counsel to the governor.”

The governor’s office acknowledged to the Times-Union that there is a Department of Justice investigation but insisted that there was no news to report on the subject.

Oh. Of course, given the utterly corrupt nature of the national dumpster fire of corruption and incompetence that is the FBI, it’s most likely that information was leaked purely for public consumption, as the agency tries to make it look as if it is doing its job, but will conveniently drop the whole thing once all the hub bub dies down and the news cycle moves to other matters. No one should expect any real action against a high-profile Democrat out of those guys and gals.

As for the New York AG’s office, well, who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see on that one. It should be noted, though, that Rep. Kim is far from the only Democrat in the state who has come out to criticize Cuomo over this matter, so the pressure on that office to perform a real investigation will be significant.

Meanwhile, Cuomo’s little brother Fredo has been reined in by management at CNN, and won’t be allowed to engage in late-night shenanigans and hilarity with his big bro as New Yorkers die all around them anymore.

From the story at DailyWire:

CNN reinstated a ban this week on opinion host Chris Cuomo being able to interview or cover his scandal-ridden brother, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, which comes as reports surfaced on Wednesday evening that a criminal investigation has been launched into Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic as it relates to nursing homes.

“The early months of the pandemic crisis were an extraordinary time. We felt that Chris speaking with his brother about the challenges of what millions of American families were struggling with was of significant human interest,” CNN said in a statement. “As a result, we made an exception to a rule that we have had in place since 2013 which prevents Chris from interviewing and covering his brother, and that rule remains in place today. CNN has covered the news surrounding Governor Cuomo extensively.”

That pusillanimous statement from CNN is what we here on the frozen arctic tundra of Texas like to call a rank, smelly load of fresh horse manure. Scum of the earth, all of them.

Speaking of scum of the earth, Bette Midler was also in the news on Wednesday. – The elderly, washed-up singer summed up the feelings of all of her fellow Hollywood leftists about the fact that 4 million Texans are freezing without electricity right now in a single tweet:

Midler’s ghoulish tweet was actually sort of mild in comparison to the outpouring of vile hatred from the left in response to the death yesterday of the great Rush Limbaugh. I’m not going to repeat any of it here, but suffice it to say that our leftist friends invariably unmask their true faces to us whenever a prominent conservative dies.

I keep telling you these people hate you and would rather you were dead, folks. Believe me now?

That is all.

Biden Wastes no Time Cranking up the U.S. Interventionist War Machine

I’m old enough to remember when Democrats pretended to be in favor of peace. – The Biden administration is already well down the road in its campaign to put  an end to all the peace that broke out all over the Middle East during the Donald Trump presidency. China Joe hadn’t been installed in the Oval Office for more than 48 hours before he ordered thousands of additional U.S. military personnel to move into hot spots in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, as he and his handlers prepare to restart wars without end and revive the fortunes of the military/industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about and Trump had done so much to neuter.

The Biden war buildup continued this week with new arms sales to the governments of Chile and Egypt, despite the latter’s horrible record on human rights abuses. Unsurprisingly, the arms sales benefit weapons maker Raytheon, in which China Joe’s new Secretary of Defense owns $1.7 million in stock, which he was supposed to have already divested but of course has not done so.

From a story at Al Jazeera:

The United States approved an arms sale worth nearly $200m to Egypt but vowed to press human rights issues after an American activist reported his family had been harassed.

The Biden administration – which has vowed to end support for Saudi Arabia’s offensive operations in Yemen’s devastating war and is reviewing a major jet sale to the United Arab Emirates – said it approved the sale of 168 tactical missiles to Egypt.

The $197m sale of the Raytheon-made Rolling Airframe Missiles was requested by the Egyptian navy to improve defence in coastal areas and around the Red Sea, the US Department of State said.

The department said in a statement it approved the sale, subject to congressional review, as Egypt “continues to be an important strategic partner in the Middle East”.

Biden has vowed a tougher stance on human rights after his predecessor Donald Trump courted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, whom he reportedly called “my favourite dictator”, in part for his cooperation with Israel.

If you are a parent with military-age children, you might want to start educating them about what is happening here. This is just the beginning of a new buildup to re-establish the Middle East as a theater for U.S. intervention into civil wars and conflicts between nations that have largely had their militaries armed by either the U.S., Russia or China. Proxy wars designed mainly to be used as tests for military preparedness and new weapons systems.

The Biden effort to kill the U.S. domestic oil and gas industry is also a big part of this, designed to intentionally make our country more dependent on the Middle East for oil resources and establish the rationale for intervention into what are largely civil conflicts. The inevitable return to this kind of interventionist foreign policy is perhaps the single most tragic consequence of the theft of the 2020 election. The irony is that it will be the college-aged dupes who voted in such large percentages for Biden who will be shipping over to these war-torn areas and returning with missing limbs or in body bags, all so the warmongering politicians in DC can continue to personally profit from the military/industrial complex.

That’s the truth, and we should not be shy about saying it.

That is all.

Rush Limbaugh, RIP

It is with profound sadness and eternal gratitude that I note the passing of Rush Limbaugh today. A truly great American in all senses of that designation, a brilliant radio artist and the de facto leader of true conservatism in the United States for 30 years, he was truly one of a kind.

Rush’s wife, Kathryn, opened his radio program today with a heartfelt statement to his 25 million+ listeners. I won’t deny shedding a tear or two as I listened to it and tried to take in the impact his loss will have. Talk radio as it has existed for the last generation existed because of Rush. His influence in the country is unrivaled in the history of the media; not just of radio, but of all media in this country’s history. No other single figure even comes close.

With his passing, there is no obvious replacement, no conservative pundit capable of taking up the torch and keeping the fires of conservatism burning. With no true national voice to guide the way, the loss of this great American will be every bit as impactful as the loss of Donald Trump and his presidency.

God Bless Rush Limbaugh for all he has done for us, God Bless his family and God Bless America.

That, sadly, is all.
