The Media’s Dam of Political Cover for Andrew Cuomo Finally Bursts

Things are finally getting real for New York’s thug Governor. – In the world of the American left, no story is considered to be real until it is carried by the New York Times. Yes, that really is the demented little world your leftwing friends live in. So long as the Times is ignoring any story – like Hunter Biden’s laptop, for example – liberals, in their demented minds, believe that gives them a pass on believing it’s real.

This is why your leftwing friends still don’t acknowledge the unarguable fact that high officials in the Obama/Biden administration – including Obama and Biden themselves – attempted to fix the 2016 election and ran a slow-rolling coup d’etat on American soil for three long years. It’s madness, but it’s how they justify their studious ignorance on issue after issue.

This rule of leftist life has certainly been at play in the controversies surrounding Gov. Cuomo, as a mountain of evidence has come to light that his COVID response edicts caused the deaths of thousands of the state’s senior citizens in nursing homes and that he and his toadies worked to cover up the scale of that issue. Cuomo has also been dogged by allegations of serial sexual harassment, bullying and other gross misconduct in office over the course of his long and sordid time in office, the most recent being a long, detailed essay of his behavior authored by a former top assistant, Lindsey Boylan, which I wrote about four days ago.

That story broke just a week or so after a New York Democrat legislator, Ron Kim, alleged that Cuomo had threatened to “destroy” him if he didn’t go along with the administration’s ongoing efforts to cover up the number of nursing home deaths.

So long as the fake newspaper of record refused to cover these scandals in any real detail, Cuomo has felt safe and secure in continuing his lifelong pattern of behavior, and your leftwing friends have felt fully justified in responding by simply parroting the excuse-making talking points they heard an hour earlier from some talking head on The View. You all know that’s what they do, right?

But now that game could be coming to an end, after this happened on Saturday:

That’s right: Suddenly, the Times has decided to actually give some coverage to the sexual harassment story after years of ignoring it on behalf of Cuomo. Not only that, but someone at CNN gave Fake Jake Tapper permission to actually tweet about it. You can practically hear the cries of “Oh, the humanity!” coming from the Governor’s mansion in Albany.

Here’s an excerpt from that story:

ALBANY, N.Y. — A second former aide to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is accusing him of sexual harassment, saying that he asked her questions about her sex life, whether she was monogamous in her relationships and if she had ever had sex with older men.

The aide, Charlotte Bennett, who was an executive assistant and health policy adviser in the Cuomo administration until she left in November, told The New York Times that the governor had harassed her late last spring, during the height of the state’s fight against the coronavirus.

Ms. Bennett, 25, said the most unsettling episode occurred on June 5, when she was alone with Mr. Cuomo in his State Capitol office. In a series of interviews this week, she said the governor had asked her numerous questions about her personal life, including whether she thought age made a difference in romantic relationships, and had said that he was open to relationships with women in their 20s — comments she interpreted as clear overtures to a sexual relationship.

Mr. Cuomo said in a statement to The Times on Saturday that he believed he had been acting as a mentor and had “never made advances toward Ms. Bennett, nor did I ever intend to act in any way that was inappropriate.” He said he had requested an independent review of the matter and asked that New Yorkers await the findings “before making any judgments.”

Ms. Bennett said that during the June encounter, the governor, 63, also complained to her about being lonely during the pandemic, mentioning that he “can’t even hug anyone,” before turning the focus to Ms. Bennett. She said that Mr. Cuomo asked her, “Who did I last hug?”

Ms. Bennett said she had tried to dodge the question by responding that she missed hugging her parents. “And he was, like, ‘No, I mean like really hugged somebody?’” she said.

Mr. Cuomo never tried to touch her, Ms. Bennett said, but the message of the entire episode was unmistakable to her.

“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Ms. Bennett said. “And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job.”

Ms. Bennett said she had disclosed the interaction with Mr. Cuomo to his chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, less than a week later and was transferred to another job, as a health policy adviser, with an office on the opposite side of the Capitol, soon after that.Ms. Bennett said she had also given a lengthy statement to a special counsel to the governor, Judith Mogul, toward the end of June.

[End]

Oh.

Time to “circle back” to your leftwing friends and see whose talking points they’re parroting today, as their hero’s carefully-crafted world continues to slowly fall apart.

That is all.

I’m kind of curious what the real reason is that democrats aren’t protecting Cuomo like they always do.

anna

they are maneuvering for a further to the left gubernatorial candidate to replace him. They are laying the groundwork for the public to accept his fall from grace.

When Tara Reade’s documented encounter with btfsplk gains traction I’ll believe something is going to happen to Andrew the Cuomo.

This is an old trick by the Left’s media: ‘Cover’ the story briefly and then kill it so that it quietly goes away; that way they can sort of claim they ‘cover’ all the ‘news’ and are not biased.

Also, this is far enough removed from Cuomo’s 2022 reelection bid that it will be long forgotten by the time Nov 2022 rolls around.

If, however, the NY Slimes and WAPO et al continue the story, then maybe, just maybe, Andrew the pious may be in real trouble. A one-time story means nothing. Case in point: This happened on June 5 and we are just hearing about it now? Can you imagine the ‘coverage’ if a similar sexual accusation was made against President Trump at that time?

From the story: “Mr. Cuomo said in a statement to The Times on Saturday that he believed he had been acting as a mentor…”

Yeah, and BJ Clinton was just “mentoring” Monica and btfsplk was just “mentoring ” Reade. See, donkeys “mentor” whereas Republicans like Moore from Alabama sexually harass, allegedly from forty years ago…

Again, from the story:

“Ms. Bennett said she had disclosed the interaction with Mr. Cuomo to his chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, less than a week later and was TRANSFERRED to another job, as a health policy adviser, with an office on the opposite side of the Capitol, soon after that. Ms. Bennett said she had also given a lengthy statement to a special counsel to the governor, Judith Mogul, toward the end of June.”

Notice that Bennett took her case/complaint to two women. Where was the outrage? Where was women protecting women against powerful men in positions of power? Where was the #metoo exposure? And she was ‘transferred’ to another job with an office on the other side of the building. I’m surprised she didn’t get transferred to some state office in Buffalo. And I’ll bet she got a hefty raise to boot. BTW, she is only 25 and has an (assuming) executive office. How, exactly, did she get that gig? But then again, NY gave us a 20 something bartender with no brains, talent or legislative experience a congressional seat, so I guess anything is possible in the Empire State run largely by the Cuomo Emperors.

As with btfsplk, BJ Clinton etc. Cuomo will survive this along with the murder of the seniors, as long as the powers-that-be want him to. As soon as he is of no use to them and their agenda, he will be schiff-canned like NJ Senator Torricelli and MN Senator Franken when they became toxic and unelectable.

Seriously, does anyone think Cuomo is going to spend any time in a penal institution where he could “hug” younger men over the nursing home murders?

Jay Whitcraft

I hope he can be held financially and criminally liable for this. If it wasn’t for the FoxNews’ In-laws that were killed, none of this would have came out and Cuomo would have gotten away with this slaughter. If just ONE time someone in power does some serious jail time, the rest of them will think twice about doing something so obviously deadly. Jay

It would be sweet justice indeed were that to happen. If anybody deserves to be crushed financially and legally it’s Cuomo.

The other shoe has dropped. When the NYT (may they suffer an inglorious demise) finally gets around to actually telling the truth, somebody has decided it’s time to cut their loses.

No doubt, the conmunist echo chamber propaganda mill has been running cover for Cuomo. and the powers behind the demoncrats have polled their minions and found him becoming more of a liability for the party brand everyday he remains in the news.

And like all egocentric, power drunk demoncrats, he will fight to the bitter end. He’s not the type to resign until it’s forced on him.
