A Note About Site Issues and Their Resolution

Everyone: I apologize again for the constant spam email disruptions that have inconvenienced mobile device users for the past couple of weeks.

I initially believed this was a common, fairly minor issue that impacts websites like this one from time to time. As of today I have learned that this site has actually been under a sustained attack from some malware spreader in an effort to have it black-listed by various web search utilities.

Also as of today, it became readily apparent that my original security provider, who I have used since this site’s inception, is either unwilling to or incapable of properly resolving the matter. I suspect it is likely a combination of both factors.

So, about mid-day today I made the decision to change security service providers and the new company is certainly far more responsive and appears to be more capable of resolving the issue. That operation is underway as of about 6:00 p.m CT today, and could take as long as 24 hours to fully complete.

With any luck – or as my dear grandmother used to say, “God willing and the creek don’t rise” – this lingering issue will be properly resolved by this time tomorrow, and possibly much sooner.

Dave,

The unresponsiveness you got from the one group means that they are twin sisters of either Barr or Durham or Little Miss Moffett with her Curds and Wray. They all seem to have their thumb in a pie, but can’t cut it.

I’m sure you know already good sir. This morning, 6am Pacific time, it takes just over a minute on a quick load and on a slow load times out at about two and a half minutes then reloads a cached page. So glad I don’t run sites anymore… between css, pearl, security apps, hosting issues… I miss none of it… Hope you get it all worked out soon enough Mr Blackmon… happy hunting.
