WATCH: Louie Gohmert Shreds The Democrat Party and its’ Racist History

On the floor of the House today, Texas GOP Congressman Louie Gohmert filed a motion requiring the Democrat Party adopt a new name because of its history of racism and violence against Black Americans.

Watch this clip, followed by the text of Gohmert’s resolution:

Transcript of Gohmert’s Resolution:

  • The Democratic Party platforms of 1840, 1844, 1848, 1852, and 1856 stated “that all efforts of the abolitionists, or others, made to induce Congress to interfere with questions of slavery . . . are calculated to lead to the most alarming and dangerous consequences; and that all such efforts have an inevitable tendency to diminish the happiness of the people and endanger the stability and permanency of the Union, and ought not to be countenanced by any friend of our political institutions.”
  • The Democratic Party platform of 1856 declared that “new states” to the Union should be admitted “with or without domestic slavery, as [the state] may elect.”
  • The Democratic Party platform of 1856 declared that “we recognize the right of the people of all the Territories . . .  to form a Constitution, with or without domestic slavery.”
  • The Democratic Party platform of 1860, in seeking to uphold the Fugitive Slave Law of 1850 that required law enforcement officials to arrest any individual suspected of being a runaway slave, stated that “the enactments of the State Legislatures to defeat the faithful execution of the Fugitive Slave Law are hostile in character, subversive of the Constitution, and revolutionary in their effect.”
  • No Democrat in Congress supported the 14th Amendment, which gave full citizenship to freed slaves. It passed in 1868 with 94 percent Republican support and zero support from Democrats.
  • No Democrat in Congress supported the 15th Amendment, which gave freed slaves the right to vote. It passed in 1870 with 100 percent Republican support and zero support from Democrats.
  • Various state Democratic Party officials enacted policies to disenfranchise and “systematically suppress” the right of African Americans to vote. The resolution specifically cites the 1902 Constitution of the State of Virginia that disenfranchised about 90 percent of the African American voters at the time, forcibly reducing the number of eligible African American voters from about 147,000 in 1901 to about 10,000 by 1905. The resolution notes that this measure was “supported almost exclusively by Virginia Democrats.”
  • The administration of President Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat, “began a racial segregation policy for U.S. government employees and, by 1914, the Wilson administration’s Civil Service instituted the requirement that a photograph be submitted with each employment application.”
  • When the Democratic Party held its national convention in 1924 in New York City at Madison Square Garden, the event was commonly referred to as the “Klan-Bake” due to the influence of the Ku Klux Klan in the party.
  • Senate Democrats held a 75-calendar day filibuster against the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
  • Former Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV), a known recruiter for the KKK, led the Democrats to oppose civil rights for African Americans.
  • Democrats “enacted and enforced Jim Crow laws and civil codes that forced segregation and restricted freedoms” for African Americans.
  • In June, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ordered the removal of the portraits of four previous Speakers of the House  who served in the Confederacy, stating that these portraits “set back our nation’s work to confront and combat bigotry.” However, Gohmert’s resolution notes that the Speakers that Pelosi removed (Robert M.T. Hunter, Howell Cobb, James L. Orr, and Charles F. Crisp) were all Democrats.

Prior to reading his resolution, Gohmert correctly stated that “A great portion of the history of the Democratic Party is filled with racism and hatred,” Gohmert said. “Since people are demanding we rid ourselves of the entities, symbols, and reminders of the repugnant aspects of our past, then the time has come for Democrats to acknowledge their party’s loathsome and bigoted past and consider changing their party name to something that isn’t so blatantly and offensively tied to slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination, and the Ku Klux Klan.”

Epic. And 100% true.

That is all.

So what? 95% or more Southerners didn’t even own slaves. The Corwin amendment would have passed and Lincoln wouldn’t have cared. Except he attacked Fort Sumpter and that caused the secession of Virginia and other Border States and even then the North had slavery.

The GOP has to have good ideas going forward or they will lose even if the Democrats rename themselves “The Washington Communist Team”

It’s well under way, several states have declared themselves socialists or in the process of building marxisme-leninisme maybe gulag reeducation camps in the future who knows …

The Democrats at the current protests still use racial epithets against Black cops and Black opponents of the BLM movement. The BLM movement is bigoted, intolerant, and lawless.
It would have been more appropriate for Major League players to recognize the LeGend initiative to stop the slaughter of innocents in our major cities.
The essential workers called cops are expected to answer the call in rain, sleet, hail, or hurricane for accidents, fires, violent crimes, suicides, domestic violence, and all sorts of stressful, horrible events. They are expected to accept the violent assaults by protesters and criminal suspects while their political superiors hide behind police protected spaces.
Professional sports has sold out to the bigoted, intolerant mobs.

Get R Done !

Too bad Gohmert gave his speech in an empty chamber. No one there?
Nice for the Congressional Record but DB was apparently the only news outlet thaat picked it up. Good work Mr. Blackmon.

While not with all the fanfare of a full house speech, it is important to put on the Cong. Record. That is how Gingrich got his leadership career going – eventually, his spending hours, days and weeks speechifying to an empty chamber paid off.

However back then, things were different in the early nineties and Newt had time to allow his message to percolate. I’m not sure such time is available now and I fear that thirty years of leftist propaganda have made such speeches largely irrelevant.

Again I ask, where are the rest of the ‘brave’ Republicans supporting and buttressing his argument? There must be a couple of dozen or so (out of over 250 “GOP” Representatives and Senators).

Senator Lament Alexander (80 and thankfully retiring with a recent 45% conservative voting record), this would be a perfect send off for your career as you escape your liberal RINO beltway bubble – you gutless old fool.

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment happened mostly under Democrapic administrations.
Started in 1932, ended in 1972. Only the work of a whistleblower ended the “study.”

Unfortunately, it was also conducted by a black nurse, Eunice Rivers, who helped con the men in the study that they had “bad blood,” instead of syphilis. Tuskegee University, a black college, assisted in the study as well – so it wasn’t just whites using blacks as lab rats.

But it happened under Eugenicists’ watch, particularly in the earlier times. And most of them were…Democraps.

Fast forward to Bill Gates, and his desire to inoculate blacks first, before everyone else. Just like a Democrat. Experiment on the “Negroes.”

Eunice Rivers proves that black people will sell their own to devil to feather their own nest.

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” – Booker T. Washington

Addendum: May they all burn in hell.

And the beauty of this is, it’s in the House Congressional Record for all to read. Even more beautiful is the fact that they are now forced to either defend their history or deny it. Either way, they are going to be twisting themselve like pretezels to explain this away.

Must say: Bravo

The NY Yankees all knelt down, still happy about baseball?

Love Louie Gohmert publicly giving the Democrats a taste of their own medicine. If memory serves, he was a judge back in Texas prior to becoming a congressman.

I think he would be a great replacement for RBG.

Hopefully some other brave Republicans (there must be some somewhere in DC) will sign on to Gohmert’s resolution. The only question is what would the Democratic Party call itself.

I have a few ideas…

Off topic, but some GOOD NEWS

Major League Baseball is back today. I was at the last Florida spring training game when the sport was stopped in March – seems like an eternity ago.

Maybe, just maybe, we can, for a couple-three hours a day, return to some sort of normalcy by enjoying the diversion of new sports – albeit sans fans in the stands. A much needed relief from the CV-19/Antifa/BLM/MSM (D)/Dems in general/mask mandates/Fluki, all of which are hemorrhoids to the vast majority real Americans who just want to live peacefully and enjoy life.

With few exceptions, MLB is one of the few sports which hasn’t gone all PC, and as long as the SJW stuff stays quiet (and I have a very low threshold of tolerance for politics in entertainment) during the telecast, I’ll welcome the game back into my living room. However, if I am fed any political bullschiff that I don’t want to see, the TV goes off the DVRs get taken to Comcast and I’ll save $90.00 a month not to pissed off. And I will write both Commissioner Manfred, and the BLM supporting Comcast/NBC as to why I’ll never watch another sporting event or pay again for Xfinity TV.

Dave, if I remember correctly, for some reason you are a Dodger fan. I guess you are pretty happy LA signed Betts for twelve years and $360,000,000 or so. As a Red Sox fan, I can take some consolation in that at least the Sox didn’t lose another star World Series winning outfielder (Ruth, Damon, Ellsbury) to the Yankees, and the Sox unloaded Price’s salary, with Betts for some decent talent in return.

Unfortunately Gregg I understand MLB has “Black Lives Matter” plastered all over the stadiums.

So much for escaping progressive groupthink.
