Democrats Panic Over Coming Good Economic News

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

This tells you all you need to know about the Democrat Party and its hatred for Main Street America. A new story at Politico today details a growing sense of panic among leaders in the Democrat Party over the prospect that the U.S. economy might actually – gasp! – recover in the months leading up to the November election.

You seriously could never make this stuff up.

From the Politico story:

In early April, Jason Furman, a top economist in the Obama administration and now a professor at Harvard, was speaking via Zoom to a large bipartisan group of top officials from both parties. The economy had just been shut down, unemployment was spiking, and some policymakers were predicting an era worse than the Great Depression. The economic carnage seemed likely to doom President Donald Trump’s chances at reelection.

Furman, tapped to give the opening presentation, looked into his screen of poorly lit boxes of frightened wonks and made a startling claim.

The former cabinet secretaries and Federal Reserve chairs in the Zoom boxes were confused, though some of the Republicans may have been newly relieved and some of the Democrats suddenly concerned.

Everyone looked puzzled and thought I had misspoken,” Furman said in an interview. Instead of forecasting a prolonged depression-level economic catastrophe, Furman laid out a detailed case for why the months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and GDP growth ever.

Furman’s counterintuitive pitch has caused some Democrats, especially Obama alumni, around Washington to panic. This is my big worry,” said a former Obama White House official who is still close to the former president. Asked about the level of concern among top party officials, he said, “It’s high — high, high, high, high.”

Any questions?

In case you need the Cliff’s Notes of that passage, here it is in one simple sentence:

Democrats are in a panic over the prospect that the U.S. economy will rapidly recover from the Wuhan Virus pandemic.

That’s not coming from some conservative journal like the American Spectator or It’s not a conspiracy theory being tossed around on Twitter. It’s a major report from one of the most reliably-liberal rags in the nation’s capital.

And the story just gets better. Check this out:

One progressive Democratic operative pointed out that recent polling, taken during the nadir of the crisis, shows Biden is struggling to best Trump on who is more trusted to handle the economy. “Trump beats Biden on the economy even right now!” he said. “This is going to be extremely difficult no matter what. It’s existential that we figure it out. In any of these economic scenarios Democrats are going to have to win the argument that our public health and economy are much worse off because of Donald Trump’s failure of leadership.”

The former Obama White House official said, “Even today when we are at over 20 million unemployed Trump gets high marks on the economy, so I can’t imagine what it looks like when things go in the other direction. I don’t think this is a challenge for the Biden campaign. This is the challenge for the Biden campaign. If they can’t figure this out they should all just go home.

And here’s what makes this panic even more perversely enjoyable to watch: With their failing strategy of trying to prolong the economic shut-downs in blue states for as long as possible, thuggish Democrat governors and mayors are in reality creating a more favorable third quarter situation for the economy and thus for President Trump.

Think about it: if the Gretchen Whitmers and Gavin Newsoms and J.B. Pritzkers and Kate Browns were doing the right thing for their states and rapidly reopening now, during the second quarter, they would have the effect of dampening the economic recovery numbers we will likely see during Q3. They would have been better off politically by creating as much economic re-growth as possible while the election was still months away.

But because they have continued to dither with their citizens’ lives and livelihoods for purely political reasons over the past month, the U.S. has now become much more likely to see explosive economic re-growth take place during August through October, with the election just around the corner.

Thus, the Democrat Party, through its own brutish mendacity, has now dug itself a deep hole from which recovery will be near-impossible.

All you need to know about these people is that a robust U.S. economic recovery is literally their biggest current political fright scenario.

If this surprises you, you need to pay closer attention.

That is all.

Well said, Ladyjane!

The days of the Post Modernal Deconstructionism is coming to an end in the ;west’. A communist born ideology that for 60 plus years has been foisted on the western world aided by the social marxists within the countries. Knowing they had no chance of defeating, in militarily terms, the west they changed tactics. Rather than taking a country by force they will take the country over from the inside out, without firing a shot. Lenon noted this very thing, give me your children and I will take your country.

Muslims, communists and social marxists have all been advertising this premise for decades. Yes decades. They are all tied together and one uses the other to accomplish the goal. Saul Alinsky wrote the book ‘Rules for Radicals’ that outlines and details how this would be accomplished. He’s only one of many doing so but merely the most notable since the fainting felon brought it to the forefront. His goal was to change the terminology and attack on political fronts.

Social marxist like the ‘antifa’ thugs are the militant brown shirts of the demoncrap party. Odd they’ve been so silent lately… expect that to change not that the shine is off the scamdemic. The muslims have also been advertising for decades their plans as well. Their stated goals are to invade the host countries, produce as many children as they can and overwhelm the generous western social programs. The anchor babies insure non-eviction and more free money. You can google this and see from their own lips what they declare to be.

Post Modernal Deconstruction is the tearing away all Judaeo-Christian norms that the Republic of USA has been founded on. Strong family, small business, religious belief, freedoms of speech, assembly, self protection and self determination without government interference. All these things are completely abhorrent to the ‘elites’ and it is they who seek to destroy fear of God, divide and confuse families, genders, social interdependencies.

So who is leading this destruction?? Its firstly a demonic born doctrine. The people behind this are people like Pelosi, Cry’n Chuck, Shiff for brains, Gates, Soros, Bezos, Pastyface Zuk… All these globalist elites and the cabal that support them working within the country. These are all very evil people make no mistake and allowing them to continue is like a little leaven in the bread.

To get rid of them starts first with the Bible.

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Next, where crimes are committed, prosecute. Where elections are done, vote them out everywhere. Reduce their parties to mere shadows or eliminate entirely. Do NOT support them in any fashion. Avoid their products, period, Push back with logic and reason when ever their lame arguments arise, as they have zero argument. Rise up America… time of slumbering is over. Lead the way back to freedom and righteousness and nations will follow. KAG…

This is one of my favorite sites to read every day. I especially look forward to reading the comments posted as they are so thoughtfully written.

Thank you David and thanks to all the people who post here. You are all speaking for so many of us who are not able to articulate our thoughts as well.

What Gregg said times two…

You seem to write very well, so don’t sell yourself short. I’m not an English major, nor for that matter, a college graduate. I write the way I speak. Practice of course greatly improves my writing skills and being a frequent contributor here has improved my comments, at least in my opinion.

I would like to hear your thoughts and inputs on the subject(s) of which you have a passion. If you like Dave’s posts and our comments, I think we would like to hear your thoughts; I know I would.

My two biggest problems are, being a mediocre typist (the spell check helps to keep me form sounding like a buffoon) with the occasional proof reading error(s), and not being as brief as I would like – my comments often become full articles, which is alright as Dave sometimes generously posts them as separate articles.

So, give it a shot.

One of the “service industries” (though they don’t see themselves in that way) is medicine. No, not the drug industry: those people, nurses and doctors, who have seen their jobs whittled as people haven’t kept appointments nor made them. There are several reasons for this abandonment by the public, but it will last longer than the other service industries. They are being hit hardest, because they have the most overhead and most expensive properties, machines and technology to maintain. These institutions are hemorrhaging money, and people are either getting laid off or they’re taking cuts in pay. This is not a trickle of money: this is a flood.

People have been told that – in so many words – that if they have an underlying condition, they’re scheduled for death. This is what we hear, and especially those over 60 years of age. The system hasn’t told people that well-managed underlying medical conditions may make them no more vulnerable than someone without a condition. But let’s be realistic: nearly everyone has “high blood pressure,” diabetes, heart disease, lung disease or something. A huge percentage of people are on multiple medications.

People are not insensitive to this; we know that Fauci and Birx are both older than Zeke Emanuel, given his choice, would allow to live. And yet the message that they and others have sent is that we’re old and useless, and pretty much deserve to die – (you first, Zeke, Fauci and Birx!)

So what is happening is a furthering of a great division that already existed: those who have decided to take care of themselves have doubled down on their efforts, and those who don’t are just sitting around depressed and waiting for death. Or they’re pre-empting the scheduled visit with their due date, and cashing out early. Not good. Never a good option.

Medical offices are also empty in most places because people don’t want to be tested. Instead of a great clamor to be tested, people are rejecting tests. Why? Because the public “health” systems have made this the new leprosy. Who wants to be a leper? It means isolation.

People trust the medical system less than ever, thanks to Fauci, Birx, and people who live outside NY State look at murderers like Cuomo and won’t send their parents to nursing facilities. They’ll be moving to Florida, and so will doctors and nurses. Doctors trust the system less than most of us, because they see what’s going on, and how their patient load has shrunk to nothing.

Biggest casualty in this will be medical care. And I suspect that a lot of people who were pro-vaccine are now rethinking their old beliefs. Next fall, you won’t be able to give away a flu vaccine, and most people won’t take the ones being planned.

Mike Rowe will become a New National Hero, because he’s been instrumental in encouraging young people to get real-job training.

Who and what will fail? Colleges and universities. The bloom has been off the rose for a long time, and no one will be willing to mortgage the rest of their lives on the gamble that a major in English, Philosophy, Journalism or Gender Studies will ever guarantee a job that will enable them to pay back the crushing debt they assumed. And no one wants to pay tuition for them, because they’re nearly useless or worse than useless.

Community Colleges may be the exception, at least those which teach trades (machinists and welders are going to be in great demand.) Not so the flamboyant, angry nincompoops that used to work for Buttfeed (until the investors’ money ran out.) Learn to code.

Real people need real work; real people will get real work. A new enthusiasm will show up, and the loser Dems who sabotage anything positive and worthy will drown under the weight of their own tyranny. Lots of unemployed Leftie whiners.

Mike Rowe will be the biggest winner in all of this.

Other service industries, like massage, will shrink as practitioners will have decided that it’s just not worth being exposed to people’s cooties. Industry average is 6 years for career length, anyway, and in many areas, it’s saturated with no-nothings who have been taught in business schools (which have ripped them off big-time.)

Same with waxing, nails etc. Hair cutters and beauticians might do OK, because people need those – but bikini waxes and nails?

Restaurants will be thinned out, as some people have figured out how to cook for themselves, just like they have learned how to garden. Big-box stores like Lowes are packed on weekends, and greenhouses in many areas are out of sweet peppers – unexpected demands. The big boxers still have plenty of peppers, but they sell for $3-4 dollars A PLANT, when you can (could) get 6 plants for $4 at smaller operations. Lowes will eventually end up with a lot of inventory, because no one is paying those prices. But they are buying a lot of other things.

So the service industry will be up and down; stylists with regular customers will be able to buy nice new cars, like they usually do. The nail salons with Chinese nationals (some from Hong Kong, some Taiwan, some mainland china) will suffer. Restaurants will recover – some of them – but it’s hard to contemplate eating out when your sever may sneeze in your food.

Totally agree on the economy. Most of the losses will be temporary and in reality, China will have done us a favor because the hardest hit industries are going to be the relatively fragile service and entertainment sectors. While much of our population is not particularly well trained up on production and manufacturing, our population will more rapidly than any other country ramp up its manufacturing base like we did in 1940 – 1945. Will it be a painful transformation? Yes, to a degree, but when our young people begin to buy into the pride of actually producing a real product and the newfound stability of producing needed commodities, things will turn around quickly and we will have a much more solid foundation of economic and manufacturing security.

Of course this all presupposes a further reduction of crippling OSHA, EPA regulations and the diminishing of the influence of the Chamber of Commerce and their globalist overlords. President Trump is the only one who can make that happen. If anyone else wins, we will all lose and effectively become a colony of China.

If you want to suffer the probable and unfortunate fate of Hong Kong and possibly Taiwan, then vote for Biden’s VP or whoever the Dems choose to be their nominee.

There will be a probable downside in that USA made stuff will be a little more expensive than the cheap Chinese stuff, but the economic security will be well worth it. I have never understood how stuff shipped halfway around the world could be cheaper than stuff made locally. After all, how much more expensive can Nike athletic shoes be? Unions and Blue States will again be the hardest hit as the open right to work low tax and regulation Red states will flourish with a whole new influx of capital and employment opportunities.

I personally don’t think the downside is going to be that punitive Gregg. The cheap junk people buy will be pared out mostly and what will replace it will be goods of a higher quality
. People see every day that cheap chinese manufactured junk just does not last a lick. They will soon learn they will actually spend less overall because the higher quality translates into durability.

When manufacturing returns more people will be making better money, disposable income increase, and will actually feel better, as you say, about themselves and have some pride in producing a product people want. We are designed to work. And I fully agree in that China pulled a complete foolhardy move and really did the world a service, a wake-up call.

This revamp of American economic base is whats got the Dems completely freaked out. Like Jay pointed out… the PEOPLE will punish these evil Demoncraps jackbooting their citizens. This is really a great time for Republicans to completely stomp the marxists off the map. Time is now to get animated and take back the country, expel the communists.

Jay Whitcraft

The longer democratic governors try to keep their states locked down, the bigger the gain in the US house. People will punish them at the first opportunity. Jay

I personally didn’t think the wuhan crash was going to be wholly devastating. Yes there were going to be business closures and many won’t have jobs to come back to but…. Because of American resolve and because China is going to lose much of its manufacturing base, world over, , means there will be new manufacturing opening up in the US.

MANY countries are pulling out of China because of Chinas failed gambit power move. The USA will step up and not only be self sufficient again but become an export country as well. There will be a big jump in the manufacturing sector followed by services again shortly after, imo.

Obozo’s ego won’t allow him to shut up. He’ll try a new narrative. One that will say he laid a solid foundation for the economy and it recovered quickly because he built it that way. Bets?? 🙂

Chicoms have finally admitted that they loosed the kung flu on the west to weaken the US economy. The purpose being so that the US could not respond to the clampdown on Hong Kong by the chicoms and going back on their agreement to keep Hong Kong a relatively free state.
That the chicoms did this dastardly deed is no surprise to those of us who use rational thought and logic to process info.
It was all too coincidental to be an accident, or a force of nature, or whatever innocent thing they claimed. It was intentional, with malice and forethought.
President Donald J. Trump had just completed a trade deal with China which would have balanced the playing field, to some extent, where the US was no longer being bent over with each transaction. The chicoms got the focus on the faux plandemic, with the assistance of the WHO and the duplicitous “experts” from the CDC. Rendering the US, and the rest of the world, using their resources to fight the kung flu, just when the chicoms started their terror campaign against the people of Hong Kong.
For the part that the Dr.s Fauxi and Birx, along with other esteemed experts, played in this debacle, I recommend military tribunals with punishments befitting treason. What was attempted was the destruction of the US and “We the People” using a bioweapon from the chicomms. What we have here, in the actors from the CDC, et al, are domestic terrorists and traitors.
Someone needs to take a look at the communications between the CDC and the chicoms. Could be very revealing.
Just sayin’.

Jimmy MacAfee

Someone recently said that Obama (falsely) claimed the Trump economy as his own. Lies, but what this will do is to highlight the newly minted, successful, abundant economy, unequivocally, as all Trump’s. It was before, too, but it will be an unavoidable conclusion.

Suck eggs on the golf course alone, Barry Beelzebama; your shadow presiduncy is over. Done. Barr told you to stop: no prosecution…but if you keep it up? Just give him a reason, you asshat of China.

Businesses will be opening like spring flowers coming to bloom.
