Democrats Fall Into a Border Security Trap

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

At his rally in South Carolina Friday night, President Donald Trump tied the Coronavirus issue to the Democrats’ preference for open borders:

“We must understand that border security is also health security,” the president said to cheers from the crowd at a reelection campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina, one day before the Democratic primary in the state.

“You’ve all seen the wall is going up like magic,” he continued, saying they’d “have 500 miles built by very early next year.”

“We will do everything in our power to keep the infection from entering our country. We have no choice,” Trump said. “Whether it’s the virus that we’re talking about or many other public health threats, the Democrat policy of open borders is a direct threat to the health and well-being of all Americans… Now you see it with the coronavirus.”

“When you have this virus… or any other problem coming in. It’s not the only thing that comes through the border,” Trump said. “And now just using this — so important, right? So important.”

Oh, hey, guess what else happened on Friday:

Mexican health officials announced the country’s first two confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday, saying the patients are from Mexico City and the northern state of Sinaloa.

Mexico’s assistant health secretary, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, said a second test is still pending for the Sinaloa case, adding that doctors are “treating this as confirmed,” according to The Associated Press.

See the connection? Now, project things out a couple of steps and think what is likely to happen next. Think about it in the context of the ongoing feeding frenzy by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies to politicize this virus by claiming the Trump Administration is not doing enough to protect the American people from it.

If the virus starts to really spread in Mexico, isn’t the next logical step for the President to use the Democrats’ own narrative to take steps to dramatically increase border security, to use whatever means necessary to effectively shut it down to non-commercial traffic? Isn’t another next logical step for him to take steps to accelerate the building of the border wall?

Despite all the howling the Democrats and their media echo chamber have done for the last three years, President Trump has yet to deploy the full powers of his office where border security is concerned. He could have easily justified declaring a full state of emergency on the border with Mexico years ago, but has refrained from doing so in favor of conducting strategic negotiations with the Mexican government.

But the Democrats’ own outrageous rhetoric, which is being used in their efforts to politicize this virus, is right now pushing him towards taking that exact action. The logic of the Democrats’ own narrative agitates in favor of completely closing that border by whatever means necessary.

Unless the Democrats suddenly awaken to their own folly here, don’t be surprised if you see that happen during the month of March. Wouldn’t that be some poetic justice?

That is all.

Suspect there are two viruses in China. Corona not so lethal. Borders are still key.

Trump doesn’t need to “tie” Coronavirus to open borders. It’s common sense and it’s simple fact.

The Dem’s have been out maneuvered by President Trump in every way and now are so confused they are out maneuvering themselves, fun to watch.

Now, knowing that H1N1 came from Mexico circa 2009, or at least came to the US from Mexico, what can we conclude about the wall between us and Mexico?

That it is absolutely essential.

H1N1 came up through Mexico. The press won’t be interested in publishing that fact.

“Researchers say the virus probably first emerged in humans sometime in 2008. It probably had been circulating in Mexico for months but was mistaken as the regular flu until the rash of outbreaks in the spring and the identification of the new H1N1 in April 2009.” (just FYI)

Dems trapped themselves on this. “27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.” [Proverbs 26]

Excellent Scripture application!

The liberal platform is so hypocritical that it falls apart under any kind of scrutiny or logic. Their whole structure and ideology is in constant conflict within its own sphere. Open boarders vs disease/crime control represent the latest irreconcilable conflict among the Democrats which Trump is more than willing and able to confront and exploit.

He IS the FIRST Republican president to do so and, in reality, it is just commonsense.

The Left (their way or the highway) doesn’t EVER compromise on anything significant and if they do it is never in good faith Nor should we – especially when “crossing the aisle” with Dems always hurts America one way or another.

This is a center-right country – we should be governed as a center-right country.

It was obvious for years that a major unspoken risk of open borders was public health. Any honest epidemiologist said as much.

Now it has become real. The Dems can try to spin it all they want, but the truth is that all those hysterical suburban soccer moms are going to want the borders sealed.
