Reader Insights Into Looming Situation in Richmond, VA

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In response to this morning’s Campaign Update regarding the situation developing this weekend in Richmond, Virginia, several  readers have weighed in with some supplemental information.

First is from a reader who calls himself Va. Gent, a longtime Richmond resident who has eyes on the scene:

As a 50+ year resident of Richmond with family ties back to the 1840’s, allow me to give you a boots-on-the-ground appraisal of the situation for Lobby Day as I see it currently:

  • VCDL [Virginia Civil Defense League] is asking all participants who plan to enter the fenceline surrounding the Capital to NOT carry or wear provocative clothing or signage.
  • VCDL is also advising those with valid conceal carry to post themselves on the perimeter of the fenceline just in case.
  • Word is that ANTIFA plans to march alongside the 2A supporters, as they supposedly don’t agree with the Gov’t intervention. (Jury still out on that one….)
  • Security is ironclad, and the geography of the area around the Capital is all hillsides and narrow streets, with the fortification that is the RIC Federal Reserve building within sight of the Capital grounds.
  • Street closings and predetermined off-site parking/staging areas will be in place, basically negating any vehicular traffic for many blocks surrounding the Capital.
  • Plenty of high-rise buildings in the area will allow for LEO eyes and long guns to train on the crowds. I feel that local LEO’s are on the side of 2A supporters, but only time will tell.
  • Guv Blackface pulled SB16 late this week, which was the most draconian of the bunch, that would have banned all assault rifles, 10+ round mags, etc. Public pushback is completely responsible for this outcome!

To summarize, it looks like the chances of a Charlottesville-style affair are low, but agree that the leftists in the media are spinning this as a white supremacist-fueled protest, as local news has been trumpeting the arrest of 3 out-of-staters caught in Maryland with guns, ammo and “neo-nazi ties”. Convenient thing, that.

At first I planned to attend, but decided to sit this one out and keep my old butt available in the event that a larger conflict breaks out as a result of this or the rest of the General Assembly’s malarkey.

Love the site and your work, David! Keep doing what you’re doing, it is indeed appreciated out here in the Old Dominion, where your collective well-wishes and prayers are sorely needed.

Regular reader and contributor Gregg Updike chimes in with a strong point about the migration of the D.C.-base bureaucracy into Northern Virginia during this century:

[George W.] Bush the second also larded up Northern Virginia (NORVA) with Dem voting bureaucrats when he created his two new cabinet level departments: Homeland Security and Intelligence.

I’m hoping the real American rally goers act like the TEA Party did in the Den of Corruption (DC) during the Obamacare Rally ten years ago where they left the National Mall cleaner than when they got there with no violence. If there is violence, VA may well become a real battleground state and I only hope PDJT has the intelligence sources and the plan to mobilize his assets to counter Northam’s schemes.

Another regular of our comments section, who calls himself Jimmy MacAfee (I don’t know whether that is his real name or not) is a resident of Lynchburg, VA, a city whose council rejected a motion to become one of the state’s 100-plus 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries. Jimmy provides insight on what took place there:

As for Sanctuary Cities: one councilman, Attorney Randy Nelson of Lynchburg, substituted his own reasoning for opposing the measure; he thinks he’s smarter than all the other councils and boards and their lawyers across Virginia who voted with their citizen’s interests in mind and became resisters of government-sponsored tyranny.

Here’s the thing: if we’re a Democracy, the Lynchburg City Council failed, because most Lynchburgers support the measure; if we’re a Republic, the Council likewise failed, because they failed to represent the will of the people who elected them. It is an embarrassment and humiliation that our name is not on the list of Sanctuary cities, and even the Sheriff spoke at the meeting and stated that he would uphold the Constitution.

The Deep State is flailing, but it still can do a tremendous amount of damage. Stay awake.

Jimmy, who is never one to mince words or hide what he is thinking, also provides a very entertaining assessment of what he thinks about Governor Northam:

Here’s what should happen to Governor Northam if he causes a civil conflict in Virginia:

He should have his name removed in and from any references to VMI.
He should be symbolically removed – drummed out – with a goat taking his place at the ceremony.
He should be removed from office by a recall vote by the citizens of Virginia.
He should be tried for sedition or fomenting rebellion, should his actions facilitate violence in Richmond and elsewhere.

This is an apparently mentally unstable governor, because his attempt to legalize post-birth abortion seems to be a sign of a very sick and demented mind – not to mention the blackface/Klan episode(s) from his past.  He only appears normal, and then not always. He is a tyrannical, unreasonable, unreasoning monster, and if red flag laws are enforced, should lose his right to bear arms.

It was a Virginian (born in South Carolina in 1861) who bragged about teaching Hitler to sterilize the “unfit,” and he was a medical doctor as well: Walter Ashby Plecker, the first director of the Bureau of Vital Statistics, who also statistically eliminated the American Indian from Virginia. He was a Eugenicist unfit for medical duty, and a Virginian who was unfit to hold any office.

The resemblances are not dissimilar, considering Northam’s racist attitudes when he was in college and his support for Eugenics-like procedures and activities.

Many thanks to these folks and others who have created a lively and entertaining comments section here at Today’s Campaign Update.

That is all.

Well, 22,000 peaceful protestors rallied at the Capital, with ZERO arrests and no serious issues to report!

Next Up: The VA (D)’s reactions, and how the MSM now haz a sadz……

Jimmy MacAfee

The VCDL did Virginia proud!

Jimmy MacAfee

According to VCDL, the police are unaware that the crowd may reach 12,000. This is a security concern, and let’s hope those reports are wrong.

Other reports are that busses of ANTFA have been spotted. I posted a link yesterday about the hiring of “actors.” In case you didn’t get it: these “actors” will be cannon fodder, and if a false flag occurs, will be bodies in the street. Not a safe job.

There are other concerns, including a hit-list by ANTIFA (AuntyFay) on certain speakers. Headlines With a Voice has posted those names that are targeted.

Some people are complaining that their picture-taking put them in the crosshairs of Law Enforcement, but when their actions included tapping on pillars and other things, I’m glad they were interviewed. It means that a false flag event is being taken seriously, and the silly b#ches who complain have no regard for the potential for things to go bad, and are immature and self-serving, people who disrespect Law Enforcement. Do we want the state to prevent a disaster, or not? Well?

Some – white nationalists included – actually hate President Trump. With a passion. These are Israel-haters, who support Hamas and other Islamists, and hate the President’s support for Israel. They want a civil war, thinking they could somehow “win.” They are Statists, just like the Deep State, only retarded.

Patriots want the 2nd Amendment to be upheld, and for Northam to stop trying to take away our guns. That is our ONLY agenda in this.

Continue to pray for the march (and marchers) to be safe and effective in sending the Virginia governor and his cronies a message.

Jimmy MacAfee

That is, let’s hope the reports that the police are “unprepared for 12,000 people” are wrong, and let’s hope that they are prepared to safeguard the rights and safety of VCDL and similar minded folk. I pray this, in Jesus’ Name,

Ben Colder

It certainly will be interesting to see what happens. This so called gov shows what the dem /communist party really has in mind if they have the votes take our guns first then after they get that done they will do whatever the please thus the reason they want the guns pretty damned simple really.

God forbid this goes sideways in any manner whatsoever. Since Obama, patriot groups have been vilified. If something happens here, that vilification will be elevated 10 fold. No matter, this fight – the one against disarmament – needs to be be fought. If they can clear this hurdle, it lays the groundwork for the rest of their let wing agenda. The quote fro Rep Chase is Va Gent’s post above is spot on. They are coming at us hard and aren’t even trying to hide it.

The last several Pres elections, Dems always supported gun control, but tiptoed around the more serious aspects of their wishlist, and were pretty hesitant with bills they introduced. Every candidate running or now out has advocated for bans/confiscation. The stakes are high. A vote for a Dem is a vote against America, period.

Va. Gent

Amen, Jimmy!

Keep you eyes peeled and your powder dry, we may be needing both in the days to come.

Sic Semper Tyrannis!

Jimmy MacAfee

Want to leave with a prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

Please protect our citizens who are marching in Richmond on Monday, January 20, 2020; many of them follow You, and are made innocent by Your blood; keep them safe from harm and conflict;

Please make the authorities obey the law, including the Constitution of our great nation, and keep the rebellious and violent from making this day a day of bloodshed and infamy;

Please help those people in positions of Law Enforcement to be just, and protect them too, as they’re caught between people who want peace and Constitutional Rights and violent usurpers who want to deny the peace and the Constitution;

Please cause our Governor to repent of his ambitions, of his evil, and lead him to Your Word and cleanse him in the Holy Blood which You shed from the cross for all of us; let him count himself a Christ Follower, and let all those who presently reject You find You and find Life,

I pray this in Your Holy Name,
in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua,

Can I get an amen?

Jimmy MacAfee

And anti-2nd Amendment types like Mini Mike of China have so many conflicts of interest, they should have to register as agents of a foreign nation. In this case, China. The Chinese, the UN – (and another foreign entity, Gyrogi “Soros” Schwartz) – are behind the move to disarm us.

In the specific case of Mini Mike, he should have to register as an agent of China.

Va. Gent

Virginia State Senator Amanda Chase (R), had this to say in a Facebook post, and I think it bears repeating here:

“Sadly, I am posting this, knowing that the Governor of Virginia has declared a State of Emergency in our state. I want you to be aware of how we are being set up. Does the Patriot Act ring a bell? Does the National Defense Authorization Act ring a bell?”

“If people show up wearing any kind of uniform, patch or other symbol on their clothing signifying they belong to a militia and something goes wrong, you could/will be held as a domestic terrorist,” Chase continued. “If anyone steps out of line, all it takes is one person, it may even be a government plant….if that plant does anything to disrupt the rally, you could/will be arrested as a domestic terrorist.”

“The Governor, using the media has already set the stage for this to happen,” Chase continued. “He has already laid the groundwork to make the entire movement look like insurrection. It will be used to put the rest of the nation on notice of what will happen to you, if you resist. They have used the Southern Poverty Law Center over the last 15 years to lay the groundwork. They have labeled us as potential domestic terrorist for a long time now.”

“Anyone who has ever related to the 3%er’s, a militia, or just belonged to any Patriot group…the groundwork has been laid to brand you as a domestic terrorist,” Chase continued. “They have gone out of their way since the Obama years to [ensure] they had us labeled, but it didn’t start with Obama. It started with the Patriot Act under the Bush administration. We are being played by a well oiled machine, these things have been in the works for many years. They are kicking things into high gear. Military veterans were/are even listed as potential domestic terrorist[s].”

“We were told not once, but several times by the current President, ‘It’s Not Me they are after, It’s You, The American People,’” Chase concluded. “Their actions over the last three years have shown you he was right, they are coming after us full speed ahead and they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Sic semper tyrannis, keep your head on a swivel and know what’s going on around you at all times, at Lobby Day 1/20/20. Everyone be safe out there….Thus always to tyrants.”

Amanda is a hoot, a true pistol-packin’ mama who self-describes herself as a “redneck”. Some of this may be a bit paranoid, but it bears keeping in mind nonetheless.

I have a friend who was part of her re-election committee, who also plan to be at the rally on Monday. I’ll get some inside-the-fenceline recon from him during Lobby Day and post it here as it unfolds.

Watch and ward, fellow patriots, the next few days will be interesting if nothing else.

Jimmy MacAfee

Not paranoid at all. Good post.

Remember: if the Security State which pretends to protect us fails to protect Americans (Virginians) from the depredations of the lunatic Left and the pseudo-Right (hint: they’re not Conservatives) then they have abrogated their responsibilities and should retire, resign or be removed.

If the State of Virginia will not protect the VCDL and protect their/our legitimate right to protest, and if they refuse to investigate the Soros-backed infiltrators and anarchists and demonic Left who plan to cause great harm, the Governor should be impeached or forced to resign, and so should the head of DHS, the FBI head in Richmond, the head of the State Police of Virginia and the Democrat leadership in Richmond (and most of Council in Lynchburg, Virginia, as co-conspirators.)

You Security State people tell us you must be able to spy on us, deprive us of Rights under the Constitution in order to protect us, and yet you have allowed Soros’ minions free reign all over the country. It ends here. Now. If you allow the abuse to occur on Monday, the FISC should also be dismantled, because the Security State has failed to live up to its duty as they have claimed for themselves.

Jimmy MacAfee

I doubt the Richmond FBI will investigate or act upon this information; they’re likely a part of this scheme. Prove me wrong, FBI! Prove me wrong!

I have doubts that Homeland Security will act on it, too – I emailed them as I noted. Prove me wrong, DHS! Prove me wrong!

The Constitution guarantees us the “right of the people peaceably to assemble.” Though Ralph Northam would certainly disagree. (Rights for me but not for thee) King Ralph has no business being an executive in any branch of the government, unfit for any of those kinds of positions. Prove me wrong, Ralph! Prove me wrong! (too late)

Jimmy MacAfee

They did a good job, and our prayers were answered: peace!

God save Virginia and the United States.

Governor Northam: ‘Virginia Will Be Kept Comfortable While Lawmakers Debate Whether To Kill It’

Va. Gent

Thanks for posting my comments! I am truly honored.

Big Al in NC,

Jimmy answered your questions rather succinctly, but allow me to offer my opinion on them as well:

– GOP/Pro-gun voters did turn out, but for whatever reason the VA GOP did not advertise loudly against what everyone knew was coming on the gun control front. Instead, they spent all their advertising time responding to the D’s talking points, which was a stupid move, as they took the bait.

– The D’s margin of victory was far from a landslide, but they act as if they have a “mandate” from the voters to run roughshod over our rights. Also, the average VA R voter is not a “fool”, but the VA GOP brass certainly are, as they allowed this to happen. Please recognize the difference.

-No one has “lost their chance to have a voice”, which is evident in the 2A Sanctuary movement, that led directly to Coonman dropping SB16 altogether. Don’t be so defeatist. We’re not in that camp here in the Commonwealth and will never be.

– I’m glad you brought up the recall issue, because Coonman et al are attempting to change that process radically as well. They have introduced HB 842 into consideration that would raise the recall signature threshold from 10% to 25%, as well as put a 60-day time limit on said process. Hopefully this turd gets exposed and flushed just like SB16 did.

– I think a recall effort may well get under way during/shortly after the General Assembly session, but all eyes are on Monday for the time being, as how that goes will set the stage for whatever comes after.

I feel and share your angst, trust me, but it is displaced when aimed at the rank-and-file VA R voter. Our airwaves were bombarded with millions of $$ worth of Soros and Bloomberg-sourced ads over several months that were never answered in kind. Add to that the fact that the VA GOP squandered every opportunity to make the connections to Northam and Herrings blackface scandals, Northam’s baby-killing rhetoric, and Fairfax’s sexual dalliances. Missed opportunities abound.

VA GOP leadership was outspent, out-advertised, and finally outsmarted by the D’s, and the only reason I can rationalize for it is that they were to scared to step out of the “politically correct” box that they’ve allowed themselves to be painted into over time.

Don’t give up on us, because we’re not giving up on ourselves, not by a long shot.

Jimmy MacAfee

Critical information! Vital that this be stopped!

Soros-paid (likely) actors are being sought for training for a “live roleplaying project.” near Warrenton/Culpeper. They are being trained for “terrorist, IED victim, hostage, rescue team.” In other words, violence. And they’re paid $250 a day ($50 for travel, $200)

“Without fail, as you look back at the false flag shootings in America or other mass shootings, there are scheduled “mass shooting training” that takes place either just prior to or on the very day of the attack. Additionally, many reports have documented where government has sought “crisis actors” in what it calls “training” ahead of these very attacks. With Lobby Day just days away in Virginia on Monday, January 20, Virginia is now seeking “actors” for an “ongoing live roleplaying project.”

These are the same Soros-paid actors who have been involved in Ferguson, Charlottesville and elsewhere. The link has their screenshot (which I apparently can’t copy with my browser.)

The site was taken down, but the author got a screenshot. The Governor has a choice: stop this operation in its tracks, or be blamed for the whole thing.

Jimmy MacAfee

“Description: HEAT courses are designed to prepare NGO staff for operating in challenging international environments through in-person simulations. Actors take on varying roles (terrorist, IED victim, hostage, rescue team) throughout each workshop. The work can be intense (both physically and mentally) but also very rewarding.”

I sent my post to the Fusion Center. They want to stop terrorism? Here’s a good place to begin! Unless, of course, DHS is part of this plot.

Francisco Machado

Active resistance incited by employment of embedded agitators to justify use of force is not a novel concept. See Poland: 01 September 1939. It’s even been used to start a war. And the Progressives label Conservatives Nazis?

Jimmy MacAfee

And finally: the danger of a False Flag event is not only if our own guv or government does it: we are susceptible to actions from enemy nations, who would love to see us have a civil war. China, Russia, Iran…but not limited to these. Cuba would love to do a Northwoods type event on us, as the CIA had planned to do to him! Even Mexico? This governor has put us all in peril!

The gubnor is also playing into the hands of those who want us disarmed, and would not hesitate to create an incident. (Hear that Virginia Fusion Center?) Ralphie is helping our enemies set up our cities for terrorist attacks. It won’t matter to the dead who started it, and it won’t matter when we can no longer operate a peaceful government.

Fusion? Are you helping, or are you hurting – are you a part of this scheme, part of a false flag event? Stop it before it begins.

Jimmy MacAfee

I can answer some of you questions, (respectfully I hope:)

Red Maverick Media (Chris Leavitt) failed to do opposition research – or if they did do opposition research, they refused to use the easily obtained records against Northam. One or the other: incompetence or neglect. They should be sued by Gillespie, for either reason – unless he went along with their stupidity.

The VMI connection: Northam played on his graduation from an honorable institution, and graduates were gulled into thinking that maybe Northam was honorable, too. Which is why they should – in the case of violence in Richmond and elsewhere – they should do as I’ve previously suggested.

Northam was/is a physician: who could have believed that he would sanction the death of already-born babies? No one believe me in 2007 when I warned (wherever I could) that Obumbler had (3 times) stopped Illinois from enacting the US Senate Bill known as the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. This was when he was a state legislator/state senator. Jill Stanek wrote an article: “Why Jesus Would Not Vote for Barack Obama,” which I cited frequently. So I warned about that for years, and was ignored. Now the Dems have made infanticide the norm, not the aberration. It is as if Dr. Kermit Gosnell won the election(s) in Virginia and the Presidency. And people to this day refuse to believe what happens during a “partial-birth” abortion. It’s too cruel to imagine, perhaps. And no one was willing to believe that Dr. Mengele could be elected Governor of Virginia, either. But he was.

The Virginia GOP is weak, full of idiots (HOW many seats were uncontested, allowing the Dims to win the majority this past year?) Virginians are generally not inclined to sit in on the political backrooms that exist in the GOP, and don’t know what goes on. And why not? Most of us are not invited to their country clubs. Where they hobnob with the Demonrats and share wife-stories and golf scores. Little people need not attend, unless we are their servants.

As far as removing Northam, or any other governor: the “gubner” is relegated to only one term, and so it’s a lot of effort for a few years. However, if violence should occur in Richmond as a result of the Governor’s incompetence, indolence or malignant foolishness, I can assure you that a recall vote, if permissible in the Virginia Constitution, will be considered, But considering the ineptitude of the Virginia GOP, having partly been infiltrated by Never Trumpers, it will be difficult.

Another point you made: the VCDL – of which I am not a member – did a tremendous job trying to educate the public. They always do. They have brilliant leadership, but they can’t do it alone, not when the GOP is run by people who think shadplanking is a good ol’ time. Might have been, long, long ago.

The trouble is, even a lot of Liberal pro-gun voters (and there’s more than you think) were willing to believe their Leftist brethren, and could not imagine that we are where we are today, in the present. Lots of buyers remorse.

Northam’s blackface, by the way, showed that he lacked character from a long time ago. The point is debatable, because many good people did stupid things when they were young. But had the public known, he would have lost, even if his opponent is/was a nincompoop.

I hope that answers some of your questions.

And by the way, I was the first to warn about what is now transpiring, and it was prophetic. The trouble is, if people don’t listen to prophecy (as I warned about Obumbler) then it does them no good; it is only valuable to those who have ears to listen. And no one likes prophetic types anyway, which makes it all the harder for people to be willing to be aware of their peril.

Big Al in NC

Thanks, Jimmy! I don’t live in Virginia, so I’m learning stuph as I go on this…. Based on the non-Virginia press about these events, it SOUNDS like Virginia residents are outraged. Seems to me, given the VA GOP is apparently mishandled (?) or dysfunctional, bypass that group and get a petition going to oust Northam…. Again, I don’t live there, and I’m sure there are many dynamics I’m unaware of with this whole thing. Just hope the folks that attend stay safe and keep Northam’s organization from counting coup on this…. Thanks again!

Big Al in NC

Hi Mr. Blackmon…. I commented earlier about this but MAYBE somebody can address a couple of issues here:

* WHERE were the pro-gun voters during the election? Hmmm?
* The VIRGINIA (not other states….VIRGINIA) voters elected this clown. Why are non-Virginia residents trying to help these fools?
* If VIRGINIA voters chose NOT to vote, they lost their chance to have a voice. Too late now.
* If VIRGINIA voters and those who chose not to vote, but disagree with Northam are so “motivated”…. Where is the voter movement to RECALL these democratic fools?

Crickets. (At least I haven’t seen anything on a recall referendum by VIRGINIA residents)

Note…. Lots of folks outside of Virginia want to make a show of force. Whoopee. They’ll just get arrested if they act foolishly, adding fuel to the fire of the democrat-driven move to eliminate our personal freedoms.

Yeah. Where is the pressure by the RESIDENTS of Virginia to get rid of this guy (Northam & crew)?

I personally could care less about “black-face” activities that were NOT racist at the time. Irrelevant. Anybody out there steal candy from a 7-11 at the age of 9 on a dare? (I didn’t ….too scared of the consequences)….but in 4-5 years THAT might become a capital crime. There goes your chance to be President. So there.

I’m a huge fan of your site, and especially some of the commenters….. I really learn a lot from both resources. But the “Virginia gun issue” is VIRGINIA-voter driven. Those of us outside the state didn’t have a say then….and our voices won’t count at this rally now.

Not until Virginia VOTERS force a recall…. But will they?
