Why do Liberals like Bloomberg have a God Complex?

Former New York Mayor and Presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg recently held a Town Hall meeting in the Denver Metro area, but the town wasn’t invited.

Among his proposals that emerged from the soundbites and photo ops was another ban on “assault style weapons” and the removal of immunity for gun makers and dealers in civil lawsuits. Bloomberg also wants to enact a federal version of “Red Flag” Gun laws.

This is hardly surprising since he has already spent a considerable amount from his vast 54 billion dollar fortune to twist the arms of state legislators around the country to impose numerous gun control laws regardless of what residents of those states might want. Never mind that he has never lived in any of those states or paid taxes in them.

When it comes to government regulations, gun control, and growing the power and scope of government, there is never a point at which Liberals or Leftists say, “Okay, that’s enough. We’re done now.”

Bloomberg for example, seems to fancy himself something of a helicopter parent for the country. He wants to protect us from a changing and growing list of perceived dangers such as sugary sodas, loud ear buds and salt.

Leftist ideology typifies the kind of narcissistic, dictatorial parents that send many adults into therapy for twenty years. Such parents tend to discourage their kids from growing up and making their own choices and mistakes. This behavior feeds their own needs, not the needs of their children.  The desire to use one’s power and resources to treat adults like children and keep them dependent is not that much different, and it is anything but generous or altruistic.

There is an epidemic of FYOGism (For your own good-ism) that is being fueled by a Left that has de-educated the young in the principles of Liberty, individual freedom, and personal responsibility on which our country was proudly founded.

Without these cornerstones, people can be easily swayed to vote for people who push policies that infringe on their neighbor’s freedoms. They don’t understand that soon, the loosening of these boundaries will infringe on their own freedoms as well.

Republicans have the moral high ground on this and a host of other issues, but they have been too afraid and ill-prepared to claim it and adequately explain it. Genuine altruism and love for one’s fellow man requires restraint from using one’s own power to control them. It requires respect for their choices even when one heartily disagrees.

Maybe that’s why it’s so important to be reminded that whatever you conceive God to be, our rights come from God and not from men.  God gave us free will but a man who thinks he’s God never does.

“WordPress is a factory that makes webpages”

Why can’t conservative bloggers get a webpage “factory” that does NOT censor legitimate commentary?

A mother once confided to me, “Children are little animals and you must teach them how to behave.” Anyone who has cared for little boys understands the need for an authoritarian rule making mother. The need is so great that rule making is likely instinctive for women and effeminate men. Watch little girls play. They often invent new games and quickly tell others what the rules will be. Men are less rule based, rather goal directed. Any hunter or craftsman will tell you there is more than one way to skin a cat. Do as you please and best suits you to get the job done. Everyone is androgynous to some extent. There is conflict between these opposing modes within each person and within society.

Boobberg is like many of those visitors to Jeffrey’s little island – though he probably never went there himself: he thinks his wealth immunizes him from mortality – and mostly, morality. He’s another Edomite, who worships himself on his own mountain, and who tells pregnant employees: “kill it.” Which means he thinks he’s an arbiter of life and death, not just Slurpees and .223s.

Oh, wise and gracious Mikey Boobberg, tell us from on high how you plan to create jobs when you’ll increase regulations and dismantle our border? You don’t have a clue. You remind me of the rich snots who think their wealth makes them “artistic” and possessing “good taste.” Clueless. Arrogant.

Mikey, you’re mortal; you should be thinking about your eternal destiny, not how you can elevate yourself into a godhead for others to worship, since your self-worship clearly doesn’t satisfy you! Here’s a hint, Mikey: we will never bow down before you, even upon pain of death. You will never be our god, nor a god of any kind. One day you will face judgement.

This is also why the secular Left has not succeeded in destroying this nation (yet) despite their decades-long march through the institutions of our culture. Simply put, America remains a majority-Christian religious nation.

At times like the Christmas season you can see how this vexes them (see Amanda Marcotte’s latest screed, which reads like the Grinch staring down on Whoville from his cave on Mt. Crumpet).
