That Sad Moment When You Realize The FBI Is As Fake As The Fake News Media

  • I want to believe in the FBI.  Hell, who doesn’t?  Who doesn’t want to believe that our nation’s highest federal law enforcement agency is a stand-up deal, that we can trust the agency and its leaders to be honest and do the right thing?  Of course we all hope that is the case.  Which is why it is so distressing this morning to learn that the FBI’s stonewalling of multiple court orders and congressional committees not only continues, but has in fact escalated.
  • Late on Monday, we learned that the Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, had suddenly and without real explanation cancelled his long-scheduled appearance to testify before the House  Intelligence Committee today.  There was no immediate response from anyone on the Committee, but Fox News reporter Chad Pergram tweeted Monday night that “congressional sources” told him that a subpoena would likely be issued to try to compel his appearance.  That’s fairly ironic, since it took a threatened subpoena in early November to convince McCabe to agree to testify in the first place.
  • Pergram further reported that his sources believe McCabe cancelled his appearance due to  a concern that he would be questioned about Justice Department muckety-muck Bruce Ohr and his wife Nellie, who we also learned on Monday worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 campaign.  Ohr, of course, was recently “reassigned”, i.e., marginalized within the DOJ when it was learned that he held meetings with Fusion GPS – the firm that was hired by the Clinton Campaign and the DNC to collude with Russian officials to compile the fake Trump Dossier – throughout the 2016 election campaign.
  • So, because he was “concerned” that he might be forced to answer questions he obviously does not want to answer, McCabe apparently chose what has become FBI standard policy in 2017, which is to join the agency’s ever-growing stonewalling of any testimony or records production that might reveal the truth about what senior officials at the FBI and the DOJ were up to during the 2016 election cycle.
  • A DOJ spokesman is making the rounds of the TV morning shows claiming it’s all just an innocent “scheduling error,” but that’s just another obvious dodge.  How is any American supposed to have confidence in a “law-enforcement” agency whose obvious working policy is to blatantly and repeatedly stonewall efforts by others to discover if laws were violated?  It’s an absurd expectation that will only be complied with by those who have been brainwashed to believe anything their government tells them to believe.
  • Asking Americans to do that is no different than the hilariously absurd comment by Atlantic Editor David Frum on Sunday that “mistakes are precisely the reason people should trust the media…They get partial pieces of the truth. So in the process there are going to be overshoots and undershoots.”
  • Frum’s idiotic remarks would have some level of validity if there were ever any “undershoots.”  But what we see from our fake national news media where President Trump and his Administration is concerned is a constant stream of laughable “overshoots”, false reports that always, without exception, cast a negative light on the President.
  • Think about it:  over the past 2-1/2 years we have seen dozens, if not hundreds, of instances in which a fake reporter from a fake media outlet like the NYTimes, the WaPo, CNN, and NBC rushes to get out a “bombshell” report that is then repeated throughout the entirety of the fake media as “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump”, only to have said the fake media outlet who filed the initial report have to retract or “correct” it because it turned out to be entirely false.  We saw three such instances last week alone, and pretty much no week has gone by during 2017 in which we have not seen at least one example of this pattern taking place.
  • Yet, you would be at great pains to produce a single example over the last 30 months in which the fake news media made, in Frum’s parlance, a “mistake” that was false in a way that worked to the President’s benefit.
  • Here’s a clue for David Frum:  when a long series of events flow in only one direction, those events are not “mistakes”;  rather, they are the norm.
  • When it comes to the FBI or the fake news media, no American can trust them anymore.  The biggest “mistake” anyone can make is to try to defend their institutionalized behavior.

Just another day in fake FBI America.

That is all.

Fake News, Fake Republicans and Real, Live Snowflakes – Merry Resistmas, America!

  • Now we know why his approval rating in Arizona is 11%. – Hey, remember when Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake used to pretend to be a Republican, just like his fellow Senator, John McCain?  Yeah, those were good times, but they’re over now.  On Tuesday, Flake wrote a check to ultra-liberal Democrat Doug Jones, who is running against the very weird Roy Moore for the senate seat in Alabama.  Embarrassingly, Flake’s check to Jones, which he made sure to trumpet all over the social media space, was for a paltry $100, meaning he’s not only rankly dishonest, he’s also a skinflint.  But hey, liberals are always far more generous giving away other people’s money than contributing their own, right?
  • Hey, all you SJWs, snowflakes and pussy hat wearers, if you lack a tree-topper for your “holiday” tree this year, a mail-order company can supply you one of your favorite “inspiring woman”, so long as your favorite “inspiring woman” is either Beyonce’, Serena Williams or Hillary Clinton!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up:
  •
  • Our young people seem to suffer from a severe lack of self-awareness. – The UK Telegraph carried a piece yesterday titled, “Don’t call us snowflakes – it damages our mental health, say young people”.  I kid you not, it’s a serious piece.  Note to young people:  If being called a ‘snowflake’ damages your mental health, that means YOU’RE A DAMN SNOWFLAKE!  How is it possible that that really needed to be said?
  • Tuesday was a big day for fake news news.  Let’s start with ABC News’s announcement that its star fake reporter, Brian Ross, will no longer be allowed to cover stories involving President Trump when he comes back from his 30 day holiday in January.  ABC had also made sure to leak the text of a “memo” written by its News Division President James Goldston, ostensibly lambasting his staff over Ross’s false report from last Friday, which temporarily tanked the stock market.  This is all window dressing, folks – ABC used the same tactic after Ross filed a previous fake report a few years ago, falsely tying a mass shooter to the Tea Party.  Nothing is going to change at ABC – the news fakery will go on unabated.
  • Meanwhile, over at NBC, if you are laboring under the illusion that Matt Lauer’s intra-office sexcapades were some sort of big secret at the Peacock Network, well, think again.  Everyone at NBC – and apparently at every other fake news media outlet – knew everything about Lauer, and many of his colleagues were willing participants and abettors of his behavior.  That’s the only reasonable conclusion one can draw from the report linked here from Fox News, which details the proceedings of a 2008 obscene roasting of Lauer at which everyone assembled in the room laughed uproariously about the fake news host’s debauchery.  I would post out-takes from it, but the Campaign Update draws the line at repeating jokes about anal sex.  In any event, if you’re thinking that NBC’s convenient jettisoning of Lauer – which will save the network $27 million annually – means the culture there will change, you should probably disabuse yourself of that silly notion.  No word if Charlie Rose and Mark Halperin had seats at the head table, but it does seem likely.
  • Hey, remember when real journalists would always require at least two corroborating sources before running with a big news story?  Yeah, those times are dead. – The normally fairly reliable Bloomberg ran with a report mid-day on Tuesday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had issued a subpoena to Deutsche Bank demanding it turn over client records related to its relationship with President Trump.  Within a few hours, Trump’s legal team had completely debunked the story, and one can only wonder  what the motive was for running with it in the first place, given that Bloomberg cited only a single, naturally unidentified source for the information.
  • But hey, faking the news is a highly-competitive business, and if Bloomberg’s gonna play with the big boys at the NYTimes and the WaPo, inconvenient things like real journalistic practices and editorial control have to be tossed out the proverbial window, right?  Right.

Just another day in fakety fakey fake news media America.

That is all.

Kathleen Parker Proves The Moore Campaign Right About The Washington Post

Today’s Campaign Update

  • The reliable Democrat shills at the Associated Press have a lovely puff piece out this morning on Sen. Al Franken’s growing groping scandal.  The piece, titled “Franken’s rising political star obscured by accusations”, portrays the SNL refugee as an intrepid pursuer of truth, justice and the leftist way, all the while putting his serial degrading and groping of women in the best light possible.
  • My favorite part is the following paragraph:  “It’s always a great disappointment when leaders you like and admire do bad stuff,” said Mike Lux, a liberal Democratic consultant. He said it was premature to say how the allegations would affect Franken’s career. But, Lux added, “If more incidents come to light, he’s got a real problem.”  So, just so we’re keeping score here, four gropes and abuses of women is ok for a Democrat Senator.  But any more than that, why, he’s got a problem.  Holy cow.
  • So good of you to finally point that out. – Meanwhile, the #NeverTrump nitwits who run the National Review published a piece by Deroy Murdock on Thanksgiving Day that contains unbridled praise of …wait for it…DONALD TRUMP!  I kid you not, Mr. Murdock, who is a contributing editor for TNR, has awakened to the fact that, as he puts it, “The Never Trump faction still claims that the president of the United States “is no conservative.” And yet, with rare deviations (such as free trade), he spends nearly every day implementing the conservative agenda.”  Ahem.  Some of us have been telling you guys this for ten months now.  Welcome to the party, pal.
  • The Award for The Most Absurd Global Warming Claim of the Month goes to a group of chemists at the UK’s universities of Reading, Bristol and Bath, who issued a report this week claiming that frying foods is now causing the earth to heat up.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  Who could?
  • It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s gotta do it. – In case you still harbor reservations about how much you love the job Sarah Huckabee Sanders is doing as White House Press Secretary, read this column from Kathleen Parker at the Washington Post, and you’ll lose all doubt.  Ms. Parker, who used to pretend to be a conservative but now just spends her column space endlessly whining about the Trump presidency, complains that Ms. Sanders “humiliates the media on a daily basis.”  Ummmmm…yeah, so?  Is there a point here?
  • Ms. Parker’s big complaint – her last straw with Ms. Sanders, apparently – was that Sanders began her press briefing on Wednesday by – gasp! – asking various members of the press corps to talk about one thing for which they are actually thankful.  It seems that, in Parker’s mind, asking this band of eternal grumps to say one positive thing about anything amounts to “humiliating” them.  “Yet again, she controlled the crowd, though this time by candy-coating her usual condescension with faux fellowship,” Parker wrote.  “I’m thankful I wasn’t in the room.”  Alrighty, then.
  • But Parker wasn’t done, oh, no, she wasn’t:  “For a press secretary to require professional journalists to essentially beg for their supper, surrendering their adversarial posture like a dog commanded to Drop The Bone, is an infantilizing tactic.  The effect is to neutralize the opposition.”
  • First of all, what “professional journalists” would those be?  The White House press corps is nothing but the single biggest collection of fake journalists on the planet.  There isn’t a real journalist among this gaggle of primping, preening asshats.
  • Second, how does asking any person to talk about one positive thing in their life “infantilize” them?  If the price of adulthood is chronic grumpiness, someone failed to point that out to about 99% of the people on this planet.  Kathleen Parker, though, obviously got the memo.
  • Third, on that part about “surrendering their adversarial posture like a dog commanded to Drop The Bone,” well, this particular pack of dogs dropped those bones for eight long, disgusting Obama years that amounted to a disgrace to the entire profession of journalism.  So spare us that nonsense, Kathy.
  • On Wednesday, a spokesman for the Roy Moore campaign referred to the Washington Post as a “worthless piece of crap.”  Ms. Parker’s column presents irrefutable proof of the accuracy of that assessment.

Just another day in worthless crap journalism America.

That is all.

Media’s “Trump Is A Monster” Narrative Dies In Houston

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • We should expect the fake journalists, fake anchors and fake editors at CNN, the NYTimes, the WaPo and the broadcast networks to shift their coverage away from Hurricane Harvey starting today.  The images and films from President Trump’s and First Lady Melania Trump’s visit to Houston on Saturday are simply too compelling and devastating to the media/Democrat concocted “Trump is a monster” narrative for them to continue airing them.  Thus, we can anticipate lots and lots of focus on things like DACA, the debt ceiling and the federal budget this week, even though disaster coverage is without question more lucrative and better for ratings at CNN.  Because this is what the fake news media does in its never-ending role as sad toadies for the Democrat Party.
  • If you want a great example of how the President’s humanizing visit to Houston and Louisiana is destroying the left’s world view, take a look as this piece, which discusses the shock an MSNBC reporter has felt as he’s been assaulted by the angry left  for tweeting a message acknowledging the reality of the President’s visit, and how Houstonians of all ages, colors and genders reacted to him.  Very educational about the true agenda of those on the angry left.
  • Here’s the reality that the fake news media has run smack-dab into over the last week, while covering the recovery efforts in Texas:  Most Americans are just really good, normal people.  They care about one another, they help one another, the rednecks and Cajuns in their fishing boats don’t pick and choose to rescue the people who look just like them first, leaving those with different-colored skin to wait in line.  They rush into harm’s way and start getting people out indiscriminately, take them to safety, and rush back in to do it all over again.
  • For the media people who live in their safe little bubbles in New York, Washington and Los Angeles, this is utterly shocking.  Because their own reporting has constantly informed them that everyone out there in “flyover country”, i.e., the other 98% of America, is a hateful racist, bigots who only want to harm people who aren’t just like they are.
  • I spent most of last week in Las Vegas, at a hotel that did not carry Fox News, and was thus forced to watch the coverage on CNN and, to a much lesser extent, MSNBC.  This turned out to be a very gratifying experience, as reporter after reporter found him- or herself utterly frustrated whenever they would ask any Texan a leading question designed to promote conflict, which is all they ever try to do.  Watching these elitist simpletons try to recover from their shock as Texan after Texan invariably responded with only caring and gratitude towards everyone who was working to help, and to the local, state and federal officials who were organizing shelter and recovery efforts, was a true heart-warming experience for me.
  • These fake news outlets, who have been coordinating with the Democrat Party for the last 10 months to try to create the “next Watergate” out of whole cloth, all went into their coverage of the Harvey catastrophe anticipating being able to create the “next Katrina”.  Now, they’re all down in the mouth be cause a) Houston isn’t New Orleans, b) Texas isn’t Louisiana and has a vastly more competent government, and c) it isn’t 2005 anymore, and FEMA and the rest of the federal government has learned a lot about how to respond to such events over the last dozen years.
  • But for all these left-wingers in the fake news media and the Democrats whose talking points they parrot each and every day, the worst learning out of all of this is that their efforts to portray the current POTUS as a deranged monster cannot survive when they run up against real video of him being himself among a group of struggling, displaced Americans of all colors, sizes, shapes, ages and creeds.
  • Donald Trump isn’t a monster at all.  He’s a real President, and a real American.  And that is a truth the fake news media simply cannot focus on for any length of time.  Thus, ratings and website hits be damned, these fake news sites will now move onto other topics that fit better with their narrative, because that is who they are, and what they do.

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.

Why Is The NYTimes Talking About Melania Trump’s Shoe Choices?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • The fake journalists at the NYTimes, always on the cutting edge of news that no one living more than 2 miles from Central Park cares about, carried a feature piece in its fake coverage of Hurricane Harvey  focused on….wait for it…wait for it…the shoes worn by First Lady Melania Trump!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • The piece, titled “Melania Trump, Off to Texas, Finds Herself on Thin Heels,” was written by some smarmy elitist named Vanessa Friedman, and carried in the fake newspaper’s Fashion and Style section.  The big news the Times found relevant to someone somewhere was that the First Lady wore her traditional spike heels when exiting the White House to board Marine One, but was wearing sneakers by the time she arrived in Corpus Christi, Texas with President Trump in a show of support for the people of Texas.
  • In justifying spending 700 words or so on this insignificant subject, the author pretends to simply be reflecting a major social media controversy. She proves said controversy exists by citing a single tweet from the terminally insipid Chelsea Handler, along with a tweet from some anonymous Twitter user.  Yes, because we all should really, really, really care what Chelsea Handler thinks of the First Lady’s shoe attire.
  • In response to the Times, Stephanie Grisham, the spokesman for the First Lady, said “It’s sad that we have an active and ongoing natural disaster in Texas, and people are worried about her shoes.”  Yes, exactly.  But this is the NYTimes, and creating fake controversies is apparently the only reason it exists anymore.
  • And can we be really honest about why Chelsea Handler feels the need to take shots at the First Lady’s choice of shoes?  She’s jealous.  Seriously, Chelsea Handler is jealous because – let’s be honest – Melania Trump rocks in stiletto heels, something Ms. Handler would obviously love to be able to do.  The reality is that the First Lady rocked in those sneakers, too, which no doubt drove Ms. Handler into a vodka-fueled rage.
  • Envy and jealousy are ugly emotions.  Nowhere do they reveal themselves more starkly and succinctly than in snarky, 140-character messages on Twitter.  And nowhere do they manifest more pettily than on the Fashion and Style pages of the NYTimes.
  • But it wasn’t just the NYTimes – fake news sites like the Daily Beast, The Washington Post and the Hollywood Reporter also carried similarly snarky commentary on the First Lady’s fashion choice.  It must be sad to have nothing better to do with your time while pretending to be a working journalist.  Really, really sad.
  • Writing for the Washington Post, fake journalist Robin Givhan tried to dress her piece up as semi-serious commentary in which the First Lady’s shoe choices serve as a metaphor for a presidency that is out of touch with the common man, as if a fake journalist with the WaPo has any idea what the “common man” thinks about anything:  “Melania Trump is the kind of woman who travels to a flood-ravaged state in a pair of black snakeskin stilettos. Heels this high are not practical. But Trump is not the kind of woman who has to be practical. Heels this high are not comfortable. Comfort is not the point. Neither hers nor yours…Heading off to Texas, she looked dressed to view a natural disaster from a distance, from on high, not up close. Her ensemble implied that people’s personal stories would be ferried to her after they had been vetted and tidied up.”
  • Wow.  Robert Duval’s character in True Grit would have read that passage and said “I call that bold talk for a fake journalist sitting comfortably in her cube funded by the world’s richest man.”  Again, look at the jealousy flowing out of Ms. Givhan’s sentences.  The envy.  The rage.
  • Here’s reality:  If Melania Trump’s husband were a Democrat, she’d be universally hailed as America’s foremost fashion icon, and praised by the very same jealous liberals who today are bemoaning her choice of shoes.  Melania Trump looks fantastic in anything she wears, and this obviously drives people like Ms. Givhan crazy.
  • Melania Trump is obviously very conscious of the image she projects in her role as America’s First Lady, as any First Lady should be.  She is obviously most comfortable in public wearing high heels.  If this drives fake journalists at the NYTimes and Wapo, and leftist c-list celebrities into jealous rages, so be it.
  • I can’t believe I just wrote 744 words on this subject, but there it is.

Just another day in jealous liberal rage America.

That is all.

All The News That’s Fit To Fake

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Indications abound that the Russia collusion fantasy play is dead as a doorknob.  Here are some examples:

  • Writing in the Washington Post, fake columnist David Ignatius, a regular guest on “Morning Joe”, posted a column titled “Working With Russia Might Be The Best Path To Peace In Syria”.  I kid you not, somehow a piece with that theme made it past the WaPo’s fake editors, despite the fact that the WaPo has for the last two years been brutally pounding Donald Trump for even thinking such a thing, and the fact that the fake newspaper has willingly participated in supporting a Democrat/fake media-invented fantasy that alleges that Trump is in Vladimir Putin’s pocket.
  • Next up is this story in Politico, in which several leading Democrats are quoted moving the goal posts on how the fantasy play’s final scene may eventually play out.  Here, instead of alleging that Trump or people associated with this campaign may have somehow coordinated efforts with Russia to “hack” the U.S. election system, the Democrats have now begun to speculate that some nebulous, unidentified “Americans” or “American insiders” – whatever the hell that means – might have been the culprits who held the Russians to….ummmm…to do….welllll….to hack into….ummmm….ok they have no idea what any of this even means.
  • Then there is this unintentionally hilarious defense from The Hill of the fake news media’s having to retract a raft of fake stories and fire a bunch of people in recent weeks:  “Together, the corrections and retractions amount to only a few stories out of the thousands published every day. But the high-profile nature of the errors hurts the media’s credibility at a time when the press is under more scrutiny than ever before, giving new political ammunition to critics of the mainstream press.”  In other words, the fake journalists at The Hill aren’t at all concerned about the fakeness of the stories on the various Democrat fantasy plays, they’re worried that the retractions and firings are helping the public catch onto the truth.  Typical.
  • And the fakery is not limited to the Russia Collusion fantasy.  The Associated Press had to retract a fake story late last week in which it alleged that EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is unjustly tilting environmental policy in favor of chemical companies.  The key foundation for the story was a meeting the AP said Mr. Pruitt had with Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris.  The problem is, an investigation by Breitbart revealed that no such meeting ever took place.  The AP initially refused to retract or even correct its fake story after Breitbart had notified its fake editors that their mendacity had been discovered, and only relented after the story went viral on Twitter and other social media.
  • And hey, occasionally one of these fake news outlets even files a fake story without even knowing it’s fake.  Take the NYTimes, for instance, which filed a story on Tuesday about the Crazy Little Fat Guy who runs North Korea.  In the story, the NYTimes’ fake writers quote a Twitter account named @DPRK_News, which it identifies as a North Korean state-run media outlet.  Only problem is, that Twitter account is a well-known fake.  Upon learning of this, the fake editors at the fake newspaper issued a meek “correction” to their fake story.

Seriously, you would think that at some point, these fake editors and reporters would get tired of having to issue all these retractions and corrections, and maybe start focusing on real news.  But then, that would make them real editors and reporters, and none of them remember what that even feels like anymore, assuming they ever did.

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.

The Perils Of Pelosi

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Oh, noes!  Not Nancy! – San Fran Nan, defending herself from a rising movement to replace her as House Minority Leader in the wake of Tuesday’s humiliating loss in Georgia’s HD 6, held a bumbling, stumbling, mumbling press conference on Thursday.  During the presser, she repeated herself constantly, flailed about for words, and finally blurted out the following:  “I always, always, always quote Martin Luther King in so many ways. But in this score, he said, Dr. Mar— he said, the ballot, the ballot, the ballot, legislation, legislation, legislation, your life, your life, your life.”  Trouble is, Dr. King never said any such thing.  But then, she’s a Democrat, so she’ll be protected by Joe and Mika this morning.
  • The thing is, he’s right. – Noting the perils of Pelosi, President Trump hit Twitter with the following:  “I certainly hope the Democrats do not force Nancy P out. That would be very bad for the Republican Party – and please let Cryin’ Chuck stay!”  Of course, the President is right about Ms. Pelosi’s value to the GOP – she is the Republicans’ easiest and most toxic target for congressional candidates to run against in about 3/4ths of the country.  If the Ds were to replace her with someone with a more “moderate” image – though with the same radical leftist policy priorities – like Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan, they would take that easy target away from the Rs.  Then again, it would be a very simple thing to replace San Fran Nan’s mug with that of the equally repugnant and toxic Chuck Schumer in those GOP ads.  As he so often does, President Trump managed to sum up a fairly complex matter in a 140 character Tweet.
  • She’s about to start making people offers they can’t refuse. – In any event, taking down a sitting Majority Leader of either party in the midst of a congressional session is no easy thing.  San Fran Nan functions like a Mafia don, raising and distributing tons of money among her capo regimes, doling out favors, collecting chits, rewarding those who are loyal with powerful positions, punishing anyone who crosses her.  Martin Scorsese could make a bang-up movie about her rise to power and her decade as the party’s leader in the House.  Those Democrats who are now organizing an effort to overthrow her had better start checking under the covers for severed horse’s heads before they climb into bed.
  • Hey Jake Tapper, you’ve been TrumpTrolled! – In other news, President Trump ended his two month-long Twitter trolling of James Comey and the fake news media, issuing a Tweet in which he admitted he never taped any conversations with our bi-polar former FBI Director.  This naturally caused great outrage among all the fake journalists in the fake press corps, as they watched their dreams of another opportunity to claim “it’s Watergate all over again!” fly out the windows of their sad little cubicles.
  • And right on cue, now that he believes there are no recordings of his conversations with President Trump, Mr. Comey and his wife were spotted by the Daily Mail’s Jennifer Smith strolling into the NYTimes Building.  We should expect to see another “bombshell” scandal report out of the fake journalists at the fake newspaper of record, based entirely on some mysterious “anonymous source” within the next 48 hours.  As we now know, this is how Mr. Comey has always functioned.
  • Finally, here’s another reason to expect a new anonymously-sourced “bombshell” from either the NYTimes or the WaPo over the weekend:  After a couple of months in which the fakenews scandal-mongers at All-Russia-All-the-time MSNBC had led in the prime time ratings, Fox News has now re-taken the top spot that it had held continuously for more than a decade, as the public becomes increasingly aware that the whole Russia Collusion canard is just a Democrat fantasy.  These ratings are proof that the public has moved on, even if MSNBC and CNN haven’t.

Just another day in Scrambling Nancy Pelosi America.

That is all.

The Fake News Media Is To Blame

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Fake journalists all over the fake news media spent most of the day yesterday desperately trying to distract the public’s attention away from the undeniable reality that it was their own lack of any journalistic ethics whatsoever that led directly to the mass shooting of House Minority Whip Steve Scalise and four others on Wednesday.  Chuck Todd was the champion rationalizer when he proclaimed that “we’re all to blame”.  Meaning, of course, that everyone except him and his fellow fake media assassination dog-whistlers are to blame.  Well, sorry, Chuck, it’s you.  Your fellow fake journalists.  Your network and its corporate owners.  The shooter’s Facebook page and other writings make it very clear that he hung on ever lunatic conspiracy theory spun by your colleague, Rachel Maddow, every disgraceful, irresponsible claim made by your colleague, Larry O’Donnell.  It’s you, Chuck, you, your disgusting colleagues, your disgusting bosses, not some farmer out in Podunk, Nebraska, or some hairdresser in Sawdust, Texas.  You.
  • The editors at the fake newspaper of record, the New York Times, tried to do their blame-shifting for their own heinous behavior by regurgitating the long-ago debunked lie that the Gabby Giffords shooting was caused by a Sarah Palin campaign ad.  When even CNN and the Washington Post started reporting that that was an outrageous lie, and Ms. Palin let it be known she was consulting her lawyers about a potential defamation suit, since the Times’ editors most certainly knew it was an outrageous slander when they published it, the Times meekly published a quick retraction.
  • And it is that very episode, of two fake news outlets actually exercising journalistic integrity to shame another fake news outlet to correct a false story, that proves my point that the loss of all semblance of journalistic integrity and ethics is the biggest problem facing our society.  Bear with me here, because this is important.
  • The founders of this country knew that a free and functioning press was critical to the maintenance of the kind of republican democracy they were trying to establish.  They knew this because such a free press was needed to curb abuse of power in the executive, congressional and judicial branches of government.  The best way to curb such abuses of power and misbehavior in office was to empower a fourth estate, the press, that had the freedom to discover such abuses and the willingness to bring them to public attention – regardless of the political party involved – in order to shame officeholders into behaving more properly, just as the WaPo and CNN helped to shame the NYTimes.
  • Where Democrats are concerned, the press long ago by and large abandoned this responsibility, and completely threw it away in 2008 when they uniformly decided to sign onto the Obama campaign.  For eight long years, the incredible abuses of power by President Obama and his evil surrogates went unremarked by the fake news media.  That abject failure of journalistic integrity has in turn now led Democrats and their voter base to believe they can engage in pretty much any behavior or rhetoric, no matter how disgusting or encouraging of violence, because they know they have no price to pay in the media.
  • So you have spectacles like the DNC Chairman and a senator from New York running around the country gratuitously tossing out profanities because they know the will suffer no reputational cost, and because they think it will attract Millenial voters to their party.  You have Kathy Griffin posing for that disgraceful photo because she believed she could do anything, no matter how outrageous, and not suffer any consequences (she didn’t factor in the social media backlash into her thinking).  You have Maxine Waters running all over the country spewing pro-assassination rhetoric because she knows she can do that with impunity.  You have Hillary Clinton proclaiming herself proudly as a part of the “resistence”, tacitly endorsing the violent protests by Antifa, because she knows there is no price to be paid.  You have leftwing celebrities calling daily for the assassination of Mr. Trump because they know there is no price to pay for such behavior.  You have the DNC fixing the primaries for Hillary Clinton in the full light of day because they knew the media wouldn’t report on it in real time.  This list could go on and on and and on.
  • When there is no political price to be paid due to media diligence, politicians will behave badly.  Badly behaving politicians will lead to bad behavior by their voters, because they too know there is no price to be paid.  This is not complicated.
  • What you see today is Republicans all over the morning shows talking about how they plan to tone their rhetoric down in the wake of Wednesday’s events.  Hell, even Ted Nugent’s talking about toning it down.  Why?  Their behavior didn’t lead to any of this.  You don’t see a similar number of Democrats doing that.  In fact, you already saw Nancy Pelosi ratcheting the rhetoric back up yesterday.  Why?  Because Republicans and Ted Nugent know they have to do this or the fake media will attack them.  The Democrats, meanwhile, knowing there is no price to be paid for their own bad behavior, will go right back to their own bad behavior.
  • It’s the fake news media’s fault.  The journalistic profession in America is dead.  Our leaders can either come to grips with this reality and begin to find ways to hold the media accountable for its serial heinous abuses of its first amendment privileges, or we will ultimately find ourselves in a civil war.  This is not mere speculation.  This is an inevitable outcome of the path we currently find ourselves on.

Just another week of fake news media destroying America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 4.24.2017

  • Thank God he’s not being divisive.:  In between shouting his focus-grouped cusswords, DNC Chairman Tom Perez told an audience in Las Vegas Saturday that his Party has no room anymore for anyone who is pro-life.  This is part of what Mr. Perez – who Democrats said was brought in to bring “stability” to their dying Party – calls his “National Unity Tour.”  Yeah…that isn’t really working out.
  • The poll also found that water is wet.:  67% of respondents to a new ABC/WaPo poll said that the Democrat Party is “out of touch with ordinary Americans.”  The other 33% are Democrats.
  • Nothing to see here, folks, move along.:  The sponsoring fake news outlets did their best to hide it from their dwindling audiences, but that same poll also contained yet another humiliating result for The Most Corrupt Woman in America.  Respondents said that, while they favored The Most Corrupt Woman when they voted last November by a 46-43 margin, if they had it to do over again, they would vote for Donald Trump by a 43-40 margin.  No word if The Most Corrupt Woman blamed that result on a) her inept staff, b) misogyny, c) James Comey, or d) the Russians, but it seems likely that she would.
  • Hey, stupid sells.:  Queen of MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, told her nitwit-filled audience that the civil war that is breaking out in Venezuela is all due to the fact that the country’s state-run oil company made a contribution to the Trump Inauguration festivities.  That may be the fakest news ever reported by any outlet in the fakety fakey fake national news media.  Can there be any doubt she will win a fake award from her colleagues for this fake report?
  • And speaking of stupid, CBS is with her.:  CBS Morning News fake host Gayle King told an Access Hollywood interviewer that her extended vacay with the Obamas “was not political at all.”  For the record, Ms. King gave more than $34,000 to Obama’s presidential campaign, and her daughter worked as a staffer in his White House.
  • “I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man.”:  Ok, this guy’s not one-eyed and fat, but I just wanted to use that great Robert Duval line from “True Grit.”  But some guy named Curtis Kalin, writing in the Washington Examiner, says that the “Oakland Raiders move to Las Vegas is one of the worst taxpayer-funded fiscal sins of all time.”  He’s obviously never heard of federal subsidies for corn-based ethanol.
  • Our science is the kind you can’t do without a whole bunch of federal dollars.:  Speaking of atrocious taxpayer subsidies, a bunch of people claiming to be “scientists”, led by Billy Nye the “science” guy – who is actually an engineer – held a demonstration on the National Mall in support of “science”.  Very predictably, this “non-partisan” gathering immediately turned into a series of ugly, profane attacks on the Trump Administration, and was really nothing more than a demonstration in favor of continuing the billions in federal subsidies to any researcher whose “research” toes the partisan line on “climate change”.  In reality, this demonstration had as much to do with “science” as any episode of “Mystery Science Theatre 3000.”
  • Sounds like a classic Obama non-solution, all right.:  Ex-Obama official Cass Sunstein suggested on Sunday that Facebook and other social media outlets should experiment with using an “opposing viewpoints” button instead of attempting to censor and curate content.  Yeah, that is probably not going to work with people who throw daily temper tantrums on their Facebook feeds, and then put on masks, grab their pepper spray and go out looking for someone to assault in public.

Just another day in Everything is Fake, Even Science America.

That is all.
