If Democrats Didn’t Exist, No One in Their Right Mind Would Dream of Making Them Up

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I thought this must be a satire piece in The Onion, but it turns out someone actually believes this is really the Democrats’ problem. – The New York Times ran an op/ed penned by – naturally – a couple of professors – who contend that the real problem the Democrat Party has is that it’s just too darn…wait for it…oh, you have to wait for this one…MODERATE!!!!

Yes, friends, these two people who probably have never spent a moment outside of academia believe that the biggest mistake the Dems made in 2016 was not nominating an outright communist, and nominating a mere aspiring fascist dictator instead.  Let’s all hope that San Fran Nan, Chuckie Schumer and the rest of what passes for “leadership” in the Democrat Party today all read this piece and take it to heart.  If they do, the Democrat Party won’t even exist 8 years from now.

Dude, there are proper times to complain.  This is not one of those times. – Mike Repole, the owner of two horses that finished as poor also-rans in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes, is complaining that the trainer of Triple Crown winner Justify had a second horse in the race that was serving as an “offensive lineman” for the winner, interfering with other horses.

There’s just one problem with this argument:  Repole’s horses finished a very poor fourth and dead last, and the accused horse ran behind the 4th place finisher almost the entire race, finishing 8th in his own right.  Repole even said that Justify, who ran in first place wire to wire and was barely challenged, was the “rightful winner.”  So what’s the complaint?  Does he think his 10th place horse might have finished 9th were it not for the “interference?”

Sometimes it’s best just to remain quiet and take your lumps.

But back to Democrats… – The utter depravity and intellectual poverty of the American left was on full display over the weekend as two of its most prominent celebrity leaders opened their mouths and revealed the #resistance for the oozing pustule of anti-Americanism it truly is.

Once-great actor Robert DeNiro took the mike at last night’s Tony Awards to introduce fellow faded talent Bruce Springsteen and decided to go off-script, saying “I’m just gonna say two words:  F*ck Trump.”  For this, he received a standing ovation from the #resistance-filled awards show audience.  If you’re wondering why I quit trying to have any sort of reasoned conversation with leftists along about 1996, there you go.

Earlier in the weekend, the execrable Bill Maher told his audience that “I feel like the bottom [of the economy] has to fall out at some point.  By the way, I’m hoping for it because one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy. So please, bring on the recession.”

Thus, he revealed the Democrat Party’s entire economic program for the 2018 elections.  As is always the case, the single most damaging thing any Democrat can do is open his mouth and utter what he’s really thinking.  Which is why they spend pretty much every waking moment lying.

From our Canadian Metro-sexual Problems file… – At one of his press availabilities at this weekend’s G7 conference, one of Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s fake eyebrows (yes, he apparently wears fake eyebrows) came loose and almost slid down into his left eye:

This led to all sorts of uproar and hilarity in social media, even to the point where some enterprising soul created a Twitter account named “Trudeau’s Eyebrows.”  Here is the account’s first tweet:

It’s fair to note here that if Justin Trudeau were an American politician, he’d be a Democrat.  Just sayin’.

And speaking of people who would be mainstream Democrats if they lived in the United States of America, Venezuela’s socialist thug dictator Nicolas Maduro’s regime has now devastated the once-thriving nation so drastically that polio is making a comeback.

Oh, but that’s not all, not by a long shot.  Venezuela has also “accounted for 85 percent of  of measles reported across Latin America and the Caribbean over the past year,” according to the Pan-American Health Organization.  Proving one more time that there is literally nothing – not one damn thing – that leftist politicians cannot destroy when given the chance.

Let’s don’t give them another chance to destroy our country this November, ok?

Just another day of leftists destroying stuff America.

That is all.

The Fakest Fake News This Week Comes From an Unexpected Source

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hey, remember that “Blue Wave” that was going to carry Irish Beto O’Rourke to a smashing victory over Ted Cruz in November?. – Yeah, that’s not really a thing, no matter how much some desperate media mavens in Texas want it to happen.  The Blue Wave media lobby’s hopes were raised back in early April when Quinnipiac University issued a poll purporting to show the race between Irish Beto and Cruz within the margin of error, with Cruz holding just a 47-44 lead.

But a new Quinnipiac poll issued on Wednesday now pegs Cruz’s lead at a much more believable 51-40, which is likely within a point or two of where it will end up finishing in November.  The same poll has Texas Governor Greg Abbott holding a whopping 19 point edge over the latest poor soul the Democrat Party nominated to be its sacrificial lamb this fall, former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez.  This is a dramatic 10-point uptick for Abbott since the April poll.  Abbott defeated Democrat Wendy Davis by almost 20 percent of the vote four years ago, and other than wishful thinking on the part of the media and the professional political class in Austin, there is no real reason to believe Sheriff Valdez will improve on that performance in any substantial way.

Speaking of Greg Abbott, it’s not even 2 weeks down the road from the tragic school shootings in Santa Fe, Texas, and the Texas Governor has already spearheaded an effort to develop a plan to provide upgraded security and mental health screening at the state’s public schools.  The total cost of the plan is $110 million – the majority of which can be funded with existing federal grants – and the great preponderance of the measures it contains should be implemented by the start of the next school year in mid-August.

Naturally, media stories “reporting” on the plan went out and copiously quoted Ms. Valdez and other Democrats and teacher’s union reps who knee-jerked in opposition, but they’re just lost voices wandering the woods as the adults in the state go about trying to provide better protection for the state’s school children.  Because most Texans tend to like leaders who actually exercise leadership rather than just point fingers and criticize.  One would think Texas Democrats would eventually figure this out, but one would apparently be wrong.

God Bless Texas.

Fakest #fakenews of the week, and it’s not from CNN, NBC, the NYTimes or the WaPo?  Can this be true? – Yes, it is true, and the story comes from the Wall Street Journal.

The fakery starts with the story’s headline:  “‘Tropical Messiah’: A Trump-Style Politician Is Mexican Presidential Front Runner”, and only goes downhill from there.  The subject of the story is the race for the presidency in Mexico in general and specifically on the guy who is going to win, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.  The WSJ spells Mr. Obrador’s name correctly, and that’s where the story begins to break down.

At one point, the story describes Obrador as a “leftist nationalist”, hardly the path being followed by U.S. President Trump, who has governed as the most conservative chief executive in modern times.  Guess who else was a “leftist nationalist”:  the late Venezuelan thug Hugo Chavez.  Oh, and the guy who succeeded Chavez, Nicolas Maduro.  These guys were role models for Barack Obama, not Donald Trump.  Those guys are also responsible for turning what was a thriving and prosperous Venezulean economy into a socialist misery pit.

Like every other person who has run for the Mexican presidency as the drug cartels have risen in power over the last 30 years, Obrador promises to rid the nation of …wait for it… the drug cartels!  Great idea – tell us how socialism is going to accomplish that.

Frightfully, Obrador has also hinted that he will also re-nationalize the nation’s oil industry, just as Mexico, under the leadership of current President Enrique Pena Nieto, has begun to really benefit from the opening of the industry to foreign investment that took place in 2013.  A re-nationalization and seizure of assets of private investors will ensure that no company will be willing to invest in Mexico’s economy again for decades to come.

The authors of the otherwise fawning profile even appear to recognize this reality with the following passage:

“Foreign investors are nervous about Mr. López Obrador’s plans to reassess Mexico’s opening to private investment in the country’s oil industry, which is expected to bring $150 billion to the energy sector. They also worry about his threats to cancel Mexico City’s multibillion [dollar] new airport, currently under construction.

Such talk reminds many Mexicans of President Luis Echeverría, who governed Mexico in the 1970s. Mr. Echeverría combined import-substitution policies, sharply increased government spending and socialist rhetoric. The story ended badly: Inflation skyrocketed and the government devalued the peso for the first time in 22 years.”

Yes, and it is inevitable that this story will end badly as well, because that story – as with the story currently playing out in Venezuela – is in fact the inevitable outcome of the implementation of the socialist, command-and-control policies that Obrador’s election will inevitably bring to the country.

How the story’s authors see any of this as being similar to the story playing out in America today – a story in which the U.S. economy is booming thanks to the overtly anti-socialist policies being implemented by Donald Trump – is simply mind-boggling.

The story playing out in Mexico’s presidential election right now is a tragic one, one that does not deserve the fantasy-based, kid glove treatment of Obrador provided by the Wall Street Journal.

Just another day in the fake news comes from all directions America.

That is all.

Trump Delivers A Speech Ordinary Americans Have Waited 30 Years To Hear

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • In response to President Donald Trump’s (I never get tired of typing that) soaring speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Venezuelan Envoy Jorge Arreaza said “For a moment, we didn’t know if we were listening to President Reagan in 1982 or President Trump in 2017.”  Well, yes, that is exactly why Mr. Trump is President of the United States today.
  • Mr. Arreaza, of course, thought his statement was an insult to the current U.S. President, as did every fake reporter in the fake news media, many of whom were no doubt getting major cases of the vapors as they listened to the President’s speech.  CNN’s Jim Acosta publicly wet his diapers over the decision by President Trump to refer to North Korea’s dictator as “Rocket Man.”  ABC’s Terry Moran said the President’s statement that the U.S. may find it necessary to “destroy” North Korea borders on a war crime, apparently unaware that his hero Barack Obama had made the very same threat towards the Norks while he was occupying the White House.
  • Can it be a coincidence that America’s community of fake journalists, its population of liberal/progressive/socialist/communist voters and politicians, the snakes and skunks who infest the Deep State in Washington, and leaders of despotic regimes around the globe all had exactly the same reaction to a speech in which the President of the United States emphasized he plans to put the interests of the American people above the interests of the globalist community?  Well, no, it’s no coincidence at all, is it?
  • Meanwhile, the normal people of America – the people who inhabit the 95% of the country outside of New York City, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco – have been waiting 30 years to hear an American President deliver exactly this speech, a speech before the international globalist community that firmly places their safety, their security, their families, and their prosperity as the President’s number one priority in his job.  These Americans have spent the last three decades literally longing to hear such a speech from George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush or Barack Hussein Obama, and have come away uniformly disappointed at every turn.  Normal Americans were especially hopeful for a President who puts their interests first after the unending, eight year-long apology tour by Barack Hussein.
  • So Mr. Arreaza was right, if unwittingly so, to say that at times it was hard to know if we were hearing a speech from Donald Trump or Ronald Reagan, because the last time Americans heard such a speech escape the lips from their national leader, it came from Mr. Reagan.
  • The last time Americans heard such a speech from one of their Presidents, it was June 12, 1987.  Ronald Reagan, speaking to an audience of international leaders from a podium placed in front of the Berlin Wall, said “General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
  • Two years later, that wall came down, and the Soviet Union collapsed.  These were lines that Mr. Reagan’s squeamish advisors had repeatedly removed from his speech for fear of offending the “international community”, only to have the President himself re-insert the passage to their great frustration.  That’s courage, that’s vision, that is presidential leadership.
  • No doubt we will find out in coming days that several lines spoken by President Trump in Tuesday’s speech were placed there against the will of his own squeamish advisors, some of whom are globalists who live in fear of offending the Maduros and Merkels of the world.  It’s a safe bet that much of the President’s strong rhetoric aimed at the despotic dictators of North Korea, Iran and Venezuela were spoken over and above the disapproval of H.R. McMaster and John Kelly.  It is similarly safe to bet that much of the President’s stern language scolding of the U.N. itself over its wastefulness and ineffectiveness were delivered over the objections of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.  That’s courage, that’s vision, that is presidential leadership.
  • So Mr. Arreaza had it right:  For 40 minutes on Tuesday, we had an American President delivering a speech to the international community that could easily have been delivered by the Great Ronald Wilson Reagan.  The time and place were different, the accent and cadence of the two speakers are different, but the courage, leadership and rhetoric on display were completely indistinguishable.
  • In the end, this key early passage set the tone for President Trump’s entire speech:  “In America, the people govern, the people rule, and the people are sovereign. I was elected not to take power, but to give power to the American people where it belongs.”
  • Those are two sentences Ronald Reagan would have been happy to deliver as well, and those two sentences explain why this is a speech normal Americans loved, and the globalists detest.  God Bless Donald Trump for having the courage necessary to be mistaken for Ronald Reagan.  It’s been 30 long years since anyone had that to say about an American president.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.
