Hollywood Idiots Ruin George Strait’s Noble Idea

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Why do Hollywood leftists have to ruin everything they touch? – My first reaction when I heard that the great George Strait would be putting on a nationally televised hurricane benefit fundraiser was great!  Awesome!  Greatest country music artist ever, native Texan, truly good ol’ boy in every sense of that title, it’ll be a fantastic show and raise a ton of money.  Good for George.
  • But then I saw that he would be joined by notorious cop hater Beyonce’, and I thought, oh, no, here we go.  But hey, Beyonce’ is also a native Houstonian, so I figured she might actually have some real feelings in this game.  So, ok, maybe she’ll keep all the cop-killing symbolism out of this particular performance, and she did.  Good for Beyonce’.
  • But then I saw the execrable Stevie Wonder was going to be included and I slapped my damn forehead.  Holy cow.  This is going downhill fast.  Then the list began to expand to the usual assortment of Hollywood know-nothings (Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney), has-beens (Barbra Streisand, Julia Roberts), and malcontents (Jamie Foxx, Robert Deniro) and I knew that what began as a noble effort starring George Strait would now be turned into the classic Hollywood leftist tribute to Mother Gaia that has little to do with helping the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and mostly to do with promoting Al Gore’s Global Warming scam.
  • In the end, the celebrities announced their tribute to their Climate Change god had raised $14 million, and traded high-fives.  J.J. Watt, by himself, raised more than $30 million, a total that is still climbing.  Thanks, Hollywood.  Now go scurry back under your kitchen cabinets, and turn out some more really bad movies.
  • Oh, dear God, can somebody please lock this woman in her office for the next year and feed her through a tube?  Please? – Nancy Pelosi, fresh on the heels from a stuttering, stammering, speech-slurring appearance before a gathering of LGBT leaders in San Francisco, placed her public incoherence on display yet again Tuesday evening in Washington, at an event honoring the playwrite of the Broadway hit, Hamilton.  She repeatedly flubbed the name of Lin-Manuel Miranda (there, that isn’t really so hard to say, is it?), referring to him at various points as “Lin-Manuel Madonna”, “Lin-Manual Ramanda” and “Flim-Flannel Hmphfluglebutt”.  (Ok, I made that last one up, but still.)  For those of you who are into self-flagellation, here is a link to the video.
  • This is the worst deal ever!!! It’s terrible!!!!  It’s awful!!!!  It’s the end of the world as we know it!!!!!!!  I vote ‘yes’. – Hey, remember how all the establishment Republicans in DC spent the entire last week wailing that the deal President Trump made with San Fran Nan and Chuckie Schumer was just the worst thing ever and signals nothing less than the end of the Republic?  Remember how they said it was just soooooooooo awful that only a damn fool would agree to it and that they were just going to be back in December, having to address the debt ceiling yet again?  Yeah, none of that was true.
  • The deal was soooooooo awful that it has already been passed by both houses of congress, thus clearing the playing field for congress to spend the rest of this year addressing tax reform.  And guess what?  Most of those establishment Republicans – just about all of them, in fact – voted in favor of the worstest, awfulest, most republic-endingest deal they had ever seen!  Go figure.
  • As for having to come back and address the debt ceiling yet again right before Christmas, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the leader of the establishment Republican precinct of the DC Swamp, put the lie to that contention, telling an interviewer that, as drafter of that particular provision, he had inserted language that allows the Treasury Secretary to use “emergency measures” to extend the debt ceiling, and that we will be “well into 2018” before congress actually has to do anything with it.
  • All of which proves just one more time that if you believe anything any establishment Republican tells you, you might just be naive.

Just another day in Hollywood Ruins Everything America.

That is all.

Democrats Will Practice Anti-Catholic Bigotry Unless Shamed Into Submission

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • University Leaders Call Out Bigoted Democrats.  Will miracles never cease? – The presidents of Notre Dame and Princeton University wrote scathing letters to longtime anti-Catholic bigot Sen. Dianne Feinstein, after her inquisition of the religious beliefs of a Catholic Trump nominee for the federal bench.  While it is wonderful that these two presidents finally, at long last decided to weigh in against the anti-Catholic, anti-Christian bigotry that has become part of the daily playbook of the Democrat Party on Capitol Hill, it is worth noting that this is nothing new, and that Sen. Feinstein has been plying her bigotry on the Senate Judiciary Committee for decades now.  She is far from alone, carrying on a tradition established long ago by the likes of Howard Metzenbaum, Patrick Leahy and other Democrat Judiciary Committee members going back to at least the 1970s.  So, welcome to the party, gents, but this one has been going on for a long, long time.
  • For those who haven’t read their Constitution in awhile, Article VI is pretty explicit on this subject:  “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”  Any reasonable reading of the history of why this was included in the Constitution reveals that it was put there as a prohibition against the establishment of a state religion.  But Democrats, mainly in their quasi-religious zeal to protect abortion on demand, in modern times have attempted to distort this into a literal prohibition of truly religious people holding public office.  It’s ok for Catholics like Nancy Pelosi to hold high office, because they know she doesn’t really practice the teachings of the Church:  her religion plays no role in informing her public policy postures.
  • In other words, it’s fine to say you’re religious, so long as you don’t live your life that way.  This is the religious test Democrats have been imposing for decades, and it won’t stop until religious leaders and leaders of faith-based universities call it out every time they see it.  The letters from these two university presidents is a good start, and it is worth noting that the U.S. Council of Bishops also weighed in on this latest controversy with a letter of their own.  This is wonderful as a beginning, but if it is just a one-off it will have no long-term effect.  If they want to the practice to end, they will have to police it and call it out every time it rears its ugly head, because the fake news media doesn’t care about it – they actually support it – and isn’t going to call it out.  Democrats like Feinstein have seen too much political advantage accrue from engaging in this practice over the years, and won’t stop unless they know they will be subject to public shaming every time they attempt it in the future.
  • Can we please keep this woman under lock and key until next November? – Speaking of San Fran Nan, I noted last week that President Trump’s deal with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer virtually ensures that Republicans will have those two toxically unpopular faces of the Democrat Party to run against in the 2018 mid-term elections.  But the limits of that surety could be severely tested if San Fran Nan keeps showing herself to be a doddering simpleton in her public appearances.  She made such an appearance on Saturday before a gathering of San Francisco’s LGBT community leaders, confusing words, uttering garbled sentences, and generally making such a mess of her talk that she found herself having to stop and overtly note which lines were applause lines to her overwhelmingly friendly audience.  It was San Fran Nan in all her awesome glory, and Republicans are praying that glory doesn’t get over-exposed before November 2018.
  • When is a dead battery not really dead?  When Elon Musk is just telling you it is. – Tesla drivers fleeing Hurricane Irma were given a surprise free upgrade, as the car manufacturer remotely “unlocked” the full power of the batteries in the Model S and Model X cars that had been purchased with the 60kWh option.  Turns out those cars actually contained the same 75kWh batteries that others had purchased at higher prices, with Tesla simply limiting how much of that capacity the lower-paying drivers could use.  In other words, prior to the passage of Irma, drivers of the 60kWh models were being told by their cars that their batteries were on the verge of death, when in reality they had plenty of life remaining, if only Tesla hadn’t artificially limited it.  Cost of the “upgrade” – which obviously amounts to checking a box on a web page linked to each car –  prior to Irma?  $4500 to $9000, depending on the model.  I swear I’m not making this up.

Just another day in bigoted Democrats America.

That is all.

J-Law Shows Us Why Actors Should Never Go Off-Script

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • From our Shut Up And Act files… – Brain-dead actress Jennifer Lawrence, touring the globe promoting her latest sure-to-be box office bomb, told an interviewer on BBC Channel 4 that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma were nature’s way of getting back at America for electing Donald Trump to the presidency.  No, really, she said this – I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  No word from Ms. Lawrence on why Mother Nature is currently intent upon punishing her home town of Los Angeles with the largest wildfires in its history.
  • Why not just give Rosie O’Donnell a prime time gig? – The leftward-tilting of Fox News by Ruppert Murcoch’s two simpleton sons continues, as the network’s 5:00 ET offering called “The Specialists” was unceremoniously cancelled on Friday and replaced by an hour-long news segment anchored by the very oh-so-progressive Shepherd Smith, who wears his political biases quite emotionally each day on the sleeves of his tightly-tailored suits.    But hey, this is just keeping with the program at Fox these days, as even the formerly balanced Bret Baier has lately taken to stacking his nightly panels with virulent anti-Trump talking heads like Guy Benson, A.B. Stoddard, Jonah Goldberg and the super-entertaining Stephen Hayes, who hasn’t been right about anything since the introduction of Apple’s first IPhone.
  • Ok, so, is this one of those “The End of Trump!” events, or one of those “This is Just the Beginning!” events?  It’s always so hard to tell… – Speaking of the #NeverTrump idiot lobby, the temper tantrums from that part of the DC establishment over the President’s deal with Pelosi and Schumer continued unabated through Friday.  Especially entertaining is a piece at RedState.com by Jay Caruso titled “Trump was wrong on the debt ceiling agreement, and he got owned.”   As with everything written about Mr. Trump by every #NeverTrump nitwit over the past 28 months, it is laughably wrong on every point because it was obviously written in a state of witless rage.
  • But the very best part of the whole thing is the closing:  “Don’t get mad that many of us were right about Trump. This is only the beginning.”  Seriously, Jay, if supporters of President Trump had a dollar for every time we have heard those two sentences from NeverTrumpians like you since 2015, we would all be fabulously wealthy people.
  • All that talk about free speech and balanced budgets is just bound to set people off, you know. – In preparation for an upcoming campus speech by conservative pundit Ben Shapiro, officials at Cal-Berkeley have posted notice that the school will be offering “support services” for any campus snowflake who might be upset by Shapiro’s remarks.  The school is silent, however, on whether or not it will offer any similar “support services” for students who will be assaulted and beaten by masked Antifa and other leftist thugs who will inevitably show up and try to cause a riot.
  • Roger Goodell’s solution is to now have TWO months of pink stuff on uniforms instead of just one. – Ratings for Thursday night’s kickoff of the NFL season were down by 13% when compared to last season’s opener, despite the fact that the game featured two of the league’s ten best teams, including the reigning Super Champion New England Patriots.  This of course continues a trend from 2016, as football fans continue to abandon the league in droves due to all the politically correct BS that now pervades its broadcasts and league policies.
  • Yes, because, you know, all Hispanics provide one another lavish vacations via private jets to lush Dominican resorts and appointments with high-end call girls.  It’s just part of the culture, your Honor! – The defense of Senator Robert Menedenez appears to be lurching off into an O.J. Simpson-type of strategy, in which the defense will try to make society the defendant rather than the accused.  This became apparent on Friday, as the Senator’s defense attorney began his defense by arguing that the charges against Sen. Menendez are in fact an attack on Hispanic culture.  The problem for this strategic approach is that the judge in this case appears to be anything but the sad, attention-seeking dupe that Judge Lance Ito turned out to be for O.J.  If this is the best Sen. Menendez’s lawyers have, he is well and truly screwed.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

Trump’s Deal With Pelosi/Schumer Is A Huge Win For The GOP

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Just two and a half months ago, on June 20, Republican Karen Handel defeated Democrat Pajama Boy, er, Jon Ossoff, in the Georgia congressional District 6 special election.  This was to fill the seat left vacant by Trump Appointee and new Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.  The fake news media naturally characterized the win by a Republican candidate in a marginally Republican district as an “upset”, based mainly on wishful thinking, thinking that was based on the fake polls their own media outlets paid to create.
  • Georgia District 6 was the fourth such special election held around the country to fill seats left vacant by Trump appointees, and all of the races were won by Republicans.  The narratives in the fake media coverage leading up to every one of those races said that they were not races to fill congressional seats, but rather referenda on Donald Trump, whom the media has portrayed as being historically unpopular, based mainly on…wait for it….you guessed it, based mainly on the fake polls their own media outlets paid to create.  See how this works?  The false narratives practically write themselves.
  • The fake media did wake to an actual truth in the days that followed their Georgia District 6 fiasco, and that is the reality that, in all of those special elections, the GOP candidates ran less against their actual opponents than they did against the ugly, deranged face of the national Democrat Party’s leadership.  More specifically, they ran against San Fran Nan Pelosi, the Democrats’ doddering House Minority Leader.
  • This bitter June 21 piece in New York Magazine is a fine example:  “The clear and consistent focus of the GOP message in GA-06 was to remind the district’s dominant Republicans that Jon Ossoff is a Democrat, and to convince them his mild, centrist persona disguised a monstrous radical leftist who is “not one of us”…again and again Ossoff was depicted as a puppet of Nancy Pelosi and her godless San Francisco hippie allies.”
  • The next couple of weeks were very difficult for Ms. Pelosi, who is barely able these days to put two sentences together in a coherent fashion, as pundits from all locations on the political spectrum came to the sudden realization that her political party really has little chance of regaining power in either house of congress so long as she is available for GOP candidates to run against.  Tim Ryun, a no-account congressman from one of those rust belt states, started making waves about mounting a formal effort to force a vote among the Democrat caucus to replace her, as he has tried in the past.
  • Republicans everywhere held their breath at the prospect that San Fran Nan might actually be replaced by Ryan.  Ryan is every bit the leftist, anti-American lunatic that Pelosi is, but he has a face that looks like a combination of powdered milk and Lumpy Rutherford, and a keen grasp of the English language, so he’d be a lot more difficult to demonize on the campaign trail.
  • But Pelosi persevered, at least for now, staving off her challengers and critics by reminding them that she is a…wait for it…”master legislator” in an interview with one of those Democrat-friendly Sunday Morning show host, which of course means it could have been any of them.  Anyway, that claim is a laughable lie, but if Pelosi knows one thing, it is that Democrats love, love, love being lied to, which of course is why she rose to power in the first place.  So things calmed down for her, but she was far from out of the woods, and many observers have remained concerned there could be more moves to oust her as next year’s mid-term elections approach.
  • So, by now you’re wondering why I am writing about all of this today, and if I actually have a point to make, right?  Right.
  • Well, yes, there is a point.  It’s one I meant to raise in yesterday’s piece about the budget/debt ceiling/emergency relief deal President Trump made with Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, but the drugs I’m taking trying to get over the flu have left me so drowsy I forgot to do so.  And it’s a point pretty much everyone seems to be missing in all of this, especially Republicans, most of whom spent all day Thursday whining about the President making a deal with the devil.
  • The point here is that, by making this deal with Pelosi and Schumer, President  Trump gave them a success story to brag about, propped them up as their Party’s de facto leaders, and thus basically ensured that San Fran Nan and Cryin’ Chuckie Schumer will remain the ugly, deranged face of the Democrat Party through the 2018 midterm elections.  In other words, the best possible outcome for the GOP.
  • When you see people like me talk about Trump playing 4D Chess while everyone else is playing checkers, this is exactly what we mean.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.

President Trump Denies Ryan And McConnell Their Precious Kabuki Dance

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • So, President Trump did a snap-decision deal with San Fran Nan and Cryin’ Chuckie Schumer on the debt ceiling, the budget and a supplemental appropriation for FEMA on Wednesday, and Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are reportedly mad as hell about it.  There is only one word for this, and that is…
  • GOOD.
  • Think about it:  You are the duly-elected President of the United States, a President who was elected to accomplish a very clear, specific set of goals on which you campaigned more tirelessly than any recent presidential candidate for 18 long months.  Included in those goals are several major legislative items on which you know that pretty much every member of your own party’s congressional membership campaigned in favor of during the 2016 campaign, and it was on those issues that they all won their own elections.
  • Given that reality, and given that your own political party won majorities in both houses of congress, your expectation coming into your presidency was that you would be able to get a lot of good things done working hand in glove with your own party’s congressional leaders.  Cool, right?
  • But you have now had eight months in office, and during that time, you have watched as your agenda – and what you had reasonably thought was also your party’s own agenda in congress – has been undermined time after time after time, not by the minority Democrats, but by the leaders in your own party.
  • At first you thought the speaker and the majority leader were just incompetent boobs.  How else to explain their consistent failures to coalesce their own memberships together to vote in favor of key legislation on which so many of them had themselves campaigned?  How else to explain the speaker’s and majority leader’s refusal to arm-twist recalcitrant members by threatening to take away their committee chairmanships, a tactic that the leaders of the minority party had never been shy about using?  How else to explain the inexcusable decision by the speaker and the majority leader to take the full month of August off after having achieved pretty much nothing of significance from January through July?
  • But then, probably sometime during August, it hits you:  They’re not incompetent, they’re completely disloyal.  They aren’t failing to get anything done because they’re idiots, they’re failing to get anything done because they don’t want to get anything done.
  • They, and most of their “establishment” caucus members, have no intention of keeping their campaign promises to repeal Obamacare, to enact major tax reform, to do a major infrastructure bill, to beef up funding for border security, or anything else.  Those were empty promises made to voters they don’t respect, in the anticipation that your opponent would win the presidential contest.  They actually looked forward to that outcome, because they consider it the best of all worlds:  A win by your opponent would have enabled them to continue taking empty votes on major issues they really aren’t in favor of, and send their empty bills to an opposition POTUS, knowing they would be vetoed.
  • This is the Kabuki Dance that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell love.  It is their true core competency.
  • And this is why Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are so angry today:  Because the President’s deal with the Democrats denies them the opportunity to engage in their favored Kabuki Dance rituals over the debt ceiling and the budget.  You know what I’m talking about – the Dance in which Ryan and McConnell get tons of TV face time, pretending to give a damn about the nation’s mounting debt problems, inevitably taking the nation to the precipice of a government shutdown, only to give in at the last minute when they extract a few billion dollars of meaningless spending cuts from the Democrats, cuts that will quietly be restored at a later date.
  • They had their Kabuki steps all set, their choreography carefully coordinated, and they assumed they’d easily be able to sucker this President to just accede to their wishes and let them have their precious stage time when they went into Wednesday’s meeting in the Oval Office.  After all, they consider this President to be a dope, just as he spent seven months assuming they were just incompetent boobs.
  • Mitch McConnells’ ashen-faced press conference following Wednesday’s deal tells us everything we need to know:  He realizes now that he has mis-judged Donald Trump, and that his bluff has been called.  The days of the Kabuki Dance going un-remarked upon by a willing fellow dancer in the White House are gone.
  • Donald Trump is not a dancer, he’s a doer.  Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan discovered on Wednesday that they can either decide to become doers as well, or become leaders of a minority party in congress after the 2018 elections.  They can either start working honestly with the President or be relegated to the sidelines in crucial negotiations, because this President is not going to allow himself to be held hostage to partisan Kabuki Dances.  The choice is entirely up to them.

Just another day in the political equation in Washington just shifted America.

Yet Another Riot In Yet Another Democrat City

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Yet another police stand-down in another Democrat-controlled city took place on Sunday, and yet again the fake news media pretty much ignored the story.  This time, the Antifa-led riot took place in a familiar place – Berkeley California, where an Oregon-based group called “Patriot’s Prayer” had planned to hold a peaceful demonstration of the exercise of free speech, a rapidly-dying concept in our country wherever Democrats are in control.
  • Lacking confidence in the intent of the Berkeley police to provide adequate security, Patriot’s Prayer cancelled its event, but a few of its members showed up anyway to exercise their supposed constitutional right to assemble and speak.  That was when they were set upon by hundreds of black-clad, masked Antifa terrorists.  As is always the case whenever Antifa thugs arrive, beatings and destruction of property ensued.   (Ironically, much of the action took place underneath a banner hung from a light pole that read, “Berkeley Stands United Against Hate.”)
  • And, as has been the case several times previously in Berkeley this year, the police were obviously ordered to stand down and did nothing to curb the violence.  At one point, they abandoned the scene altogether, retreating to a nearby station, where I guess they had a cup of coffee and some donuts.
  • When interviewed by a local news station about the situation, Berkeley Police Chief Andrew Greenwald was nonchalant about his decision to stand down, saying “It’s a little early, we will take a look at what happened today but it doesn’t make sense to fight over something where the conditions have changed. The need for separation simply didn’t exist. And we’ll review the operation and once again learn from what we did. And that’s pretty much all I have to say for you now…And as far as I am concerned there are some deep discussions that need to happen within our community about providing space for Antifa and some of the folks we saw here today.”
  • So, the Democrat Chief of Police, having obviously been ordered to stand down by the Democrat Mayor, is more concerned about “providing space for Antifa” than anything else that took place in his city on Sunday.  This is your Democrat Party today, folks.  You vote for these anti-American idiots – and that’s what these people running Berkeley, Charlottesville and many other cities are – at your own risk.
  • The UK Daily Mail reports that “scientists” have produced a study showing that women with wide faces have a lust for power.  That certainly helps to explain Hillary Clinton, Angela Merkel, Debbie Wasserman-Schulz and Elizabeth Warren, but gives us no insight at all on the mouse-faced Nancy Pelosi, or the never-ending clown show that is Maxine Waters.
  • President Trump’s pardon of 85 year-old former Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio predictably touched off yet another round of outright crazy from the Trump-hating left and the Trump-hating #neverTrump moron faction of the Republican Party.  The silliest criticism came from political enemies like Arizona senators like John McCain and Jeff Flake, who derided the President for “not following the Justice Department review process” with the pardon, as if there is some “process” that governs what is an absolute authority granted explicitly to all presidents in the Constitution.
  • The best, though, were a set of idiotic op-eds from leftist authors claiming that the pardon was somehow “impeachable” and an “assault on the judiciary”, as a couple of writers did.  The Washington Post felt is was appropriate to publish at least two such pieces.
  • Here’s reality:  This 85 year-old was about to be sentenced to jail time for ignoring the order of a leftist federal judge to stop enforcing immigration law.  That’s the truth.  This judge “convicted” Mr. Arpaio of “contempt” while denying him his right to a trial by jury, something that is also explicitly guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.  Her decision would have beyond all doubt been overturned by the U.S. appellate court, but she is so focused on making a political prisoner of Mr. Arpaio that she was moving to sentence him before his appeal could be heard.  This is what fake Republicans like McCain and Flake, and the entirety of the nation’s fake news media are supporting.
  • Meanwhile, Barack Obama, during his 8 years in office, issued 1,715 pardons of a wide variety of murderers, thugs, drug dealers and at least one trans-gender traitor to the nation without generating a peep of protest from McCain, Flake or any of the op-ed writers at the Washington Post. And guess what?  He had an unfettered, explicit constitutional authority to issue those pardons, as repugnant to the sensibilities of most thinking Americans they might have been.
  • But hey, you can’t cure crazy like these people are exhibiting.  Long after we have cures for AIDS, cancer, muscular dystrophy and the heartbreak of psoriasis, Trump Derangement Syndrome-style crazy will endure.

Just another day in stand down cops in Democrat cities America.

That is all.

Finally, An Actual Plan For Achieving Goals In Afghanistan

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • President Trump’s decision announced Monday night to increase the U.S. presence in Afghanistan by sending up to 4,000 additional troops and military advisers into that already 16 year-old war is both disappointing, and encouraging.  The disappointment comes in the President’s going back on his oft-repeated campaign pledge to get our country out of that armpit of the earth, where more that 2,500 American lives have already been sacrificed to accomplish goals that under President George W. Bush were overly-ambitious and unachievable, and that under President Barack Obama were vague and unsupported in any real way by that administration.  In announcing his intent to extend U.S. involvement even further, one cannot help but fear that Mr. Trump has allowed himself to be co-opted into what has become a literal money pit for the military-industrial complex.
  • All that aside, it was at least encouraging to hear an American President eschew entirely the ill-fated neo-conservative hubris of “nation-building” in the Middle East, and work to set clear and obtainable side bars for our country’s ongoing commitment to Afghanistan, without setting artificial and counter-productive time lines whose only result was to allow the radical Muslim factions operating in the countryside to simply wait us out.  If nothing else positive can be said, this plan at least is what a real strategy for achieving real goals looks like, something we never saw during the Obama years.
  • The President’s harsh words directed towards Pakistan, and its continuing harboring of Al Qaeda and Taliban training bases and safe havens are also encouraging.  Unlike his predecessor in office, this President’s word in such matters has already been proven to be meaningful and carrying real intent of purpose.  Pakistani officials will ignore that word at their own peril.
  • A final encouraging factor in all of this is that this strategy was developed and is led by Defense Secretary General James “Mad Dog” Mattis, and not his the feckless, un-serious bureaucrat predecessor, the execrable Jeh Johnson.  General Mattis inspires confidence in a way few men can match, and no one can question his loyalty to this country and commitment to doing what he believes is best for the military he oversees.
  • We all know that the First Rule of Plans is that they fall completely apart the moment the enemy is engaged.  At that point, it is crucial to have the best possible leadership to lead the improvisation that follows.  General Mattis is that best possible leadership for this plan, making it at least reasonable to hope things will work out better in the coming years in Afghanistan than they have over the past 16 years.
  • Fake news, fake news everywhere, and not a drop of truth. – The fake news media and the fake polls they pay to dummy up would have us all believe that President Trump is the  incredibly unpopular leader of a divided political party that is falling apart, and that the Democrat Party is poised to make huge gains in the 2018 mid-term elections.  The only problem with that narrative is that none of it is true.  If you want proof, all you need to do is look at the latest fundraising efforts by both political parties.
  • The truth of this matter is that the Republican National Committee (RNC) out-raised the Democrat National Committee (DNC) by a factor of almost 3 to 1 during July.  The RNC took in $10.2 million last month, while the DNC raised a paltry $3.8 million.  Making the balance of funds even more stark, the RNC has no debt, while the DNC is saddled with a debt of $3.4 million.  The July fundraising comparison just continues a trend that has existed throughout 2017, with the RNC’s advantage growing as the year has progressed, in spite of the efforts by 98% of the national news media to paint the President as a lunatic tool of Vladimir Putin.
  • On the congressional side of the ledger, the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has slightly out-raised the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) so far in 2017 – $66 million compared to $64 million – but that comes as faint comfort to a party with a 50+ seat disadvantage, especially given that the NRCC has about a $12 million advantage in cash on hand.  By the same token, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee out-raised its GOP counterpart by about $700,000 in July, but that’s actually a terrible result when one considers that 25 Democrat senators are up for re-election in 2018, compared to just 9 Republicans.
  • The truth is this:  the Republican brand is very unpopular, but the Democrat brand is in complete shambles.  The Republicans can go a long way towards repairing their brand by simply passing some tax cuts and some form of an infrastructure bill between now and November 2018.  To repair their brand between now and then, the Democrats would have to stage a palace coup and jettison both Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer from their congressional leadership, along with the leftist radicals Tom Perez and Keith Ellison who lead the DNC, and more importantly, replace them all with leaders who are actually attractive and likable to a majority of the country’s voters.  It is painfully hard to see who those new leaders might be within the Democrat ranks.
  • As we sit here today, the GOP is actually in pretty strong shape for 2018, in spite of its own congressional ineptitude.  Once again, the media narrative that we are being fed 24 hours every day is a shameful lie.  Some things never change.

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.

I’m Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old

Here are some things I’m old enough to remember:

  • I’m old enough to remember when, three weeks ago, the Democrats plagiarized PapaJohn’s Pizza with a new slogan promising they were going to focus on “Better Jobs, Better Wages”, instead of dividing America.

  • I’m old enough to remember 7 days ago when Senator From The News Media John McCain lambasted President Trump for his aggressive posture towards the Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea, saying it wouldn’t work.
  • I’m old enough to remember all the way back to January, when Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signor declared his city to be the “Capital of the ‘Resistance’ “.
  • I’m old enough to remember when it was the communists in the Soviet Union and radical muslims in Afghanistan who were going about toppling statues and trying to erase history, rather than the Democrats here in the U.S.
  • I’m old enough to remember when the global temperature records kept by NOAA hadn’t been falsified for political purposes.
  • I’m old enough to remember when radicals on the Berkeley campus were peacefully demonstrating in favor of free speech, not violently rioting to restrict it.
  • I’m old enough to remember when senators of both parties rallied around the president of the United States whenever some nutjob dictator threatened to bomb our homeland, and when those who didn’t do so were criticized rather than praised by the news media.
  • Speaking of the news media, I’m old enough to remember when it was only partially fake.
  • I’m old enough to remember when Barack Obama said “We can’t drill our way to lower gasoline prices.”  Oops.
  • I’m old enough to remember when The National Review was a conservative journal, and The Weekly Standard wasn’t edited by Hillary Clinton shills like Stephen Hayes and Bill Kristol.

  • I’m old enough to remember when the panels on Fox News’s “Special Report” were balanced, unlike the utter disgrace they aired Monday evening.
  • I’m old enough to remember when the Republican Party actually stood for something.

  • Hell, I’m so old I remember 1995, when the GOP had real leadership in both houses of congress.
  • I’m old enough to remember when Hollywood turned out watchable movies – you know, the kind with plots and acting and stuff like that.
  • I’m old enough to remember when I wasn’t a fanatic about Dallas Cowboys Football.  Ok, that’s a lie – I’ve always been a fanatic about Dallas Cowboys Football.
  • I’m old enough to remember when Nancy Pelosi wasn’t a doddering, babbling fool.  Ok, that’s a lie, too.
  • I’m old enough to remember when Maxine Waters lived in her own congressional district.
  • I’m old enough to remember when the Federal Bureau of Investigation was a functioning, respected law enforcement agency, i.e., the pre-James Comey years.
  • I’m old enough to remember when Obamacare didn’t exist and most Americans really did have affordable healthcare insurance.
  • I’m old enough to remember those seven years when every Republican in Washington (except for Sen. Susan Collins, who is really a Democrat) promised they were going to repeal Obamacare.
  • I’m old enough to remember when we all thought John McCain was a genuine American hero.  No really, virtually all of us did.  Silly us.
  • Finally, I’m old enough to remember when both major political parties respected the constitution, the American flag, and the national anthem.  Sadly, the Democrats no longer respect any of those things, and it’s hard to be sure whether many Republicans do anymore.

I’m much too young to feel this damn old.

That is all.

Can We Get That Whole CalExit Deal Moving A Little Faster?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • If we didn’t have Democrats, we’d have to make them up.Ok, I swear I didn’t make this up.  It’s a real story.  The far, far, far, far left wing of the far, far leftwing California Democratic Party is mounting a recall effort on their own Assembly Speaker because…wait for it…he isn’t far, far, far, far leftwing enough for them.  Wait, you say, Speaker Anthony Rendon is as far, far, far leftwing as it gets, right?  Well, no.  See, he needed to add one more “far” to that total of “fars”, and ram through a completely unworkable proposal to implement single-payer healthcare in the Golden State, a bill that would have utterly bankrupted the state’s treasury within a few years.  Of course, the leftist nitwits who pushed this bill and are now taking out their frustrations on the Speaker figure that when the money runs out in their own state, they’ll just petition the federal government to force taxpayers from the 49 other states to pay for their ruinous policies.  It’s the California way, after all.
  • Hey, can we get that whole CalExit deal moving along a little faster? – Speaking of the insanity that is California, CA Congressman Lou Correa is so unhinged that he now displays a painting of the Statue of Liberty wearing Muslim garb in his congressional office.  This isn’t political thought, this is mental illness.  But then, California is the state that gives us Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters, so, just par for the course, really.
  • At long last, this is what you’re sorry for having done?Caitlyn Jenner apologized to her dozens of fans for having been photographed wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap.  Of all the millions of things Caitlyn Jenner owes an apology for, wearing a cap of any kind is not among them.
  • Well, that’s a damn shame.Reuters reports that the Justice Department is not looking to charge journalists for knowingly releasing leaked classified information to the public.  Because no Republican can be counted on to do the right thing anymore.  Sad!
  • I am shocked, shocked to see temperatures falling in Australia! – I reported a couple of weeks ago about the scandal in Australia over the Bureau of Meteorology’s (BOM) effort to “revise” the national temperature data there to invent “global warming” where none is occurring.  Graham Lloyd at The Australian is now reporting that, now that BOM has been caught and forced to properly record actual temperature data rather than make it all up, temperatures Down Under are suddenly plummeting.  Go figure.  No one could have seen that coming!
  • Let the good times roll…or float… – Big news yesterday in New Orleans as heavy rains there overwhelmed the city’s utterly inadequate pumping system that is supposed to drain rain water off of city streets.  While the Times Picayune reported this as if it were some rare occurrence, I have personally been in New Orleans three times in the last 20 years in which the same thing happened.  And no, there weren’t any hurricanes coming through at those times.  The simple fact of the matter is that New Orleans – which I love – is 11 feet below sea level on average, and when it rains heavily, the streets are gonna flood.  This is not news, this is an inevitability.
  • Wait.  Is this question serious? Really??? – The mental midgets at Newsweek ran a piece with the following breathless headline:  “WHY ARE MOST POLITICIANS WHITE 52 YEARS AFTER THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT WAS SIGNED INTO LAW?”  Ummmmm…lessee here….hey, could it be because most people in America are white, even 52 years later?  Now we know why Newsweek exists only in bandwidth.  My goodness.

Just another day in praying for CalExit America.

That is all.
