Trump and North Korea: Proof The Reagan Doctrine Works

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Barbara Bush, America’s matriarch, Rest In Peace.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  – It turns out that not everybody in California is crazy after all.  On Tuesday, the San Diego County board of supervisors became the latest local government to vote to support the Trump Administration’s lawsuit challenging the Golden State’s sanctuary state law.  The County joins neighboring Orange County and cities like San Juan Capistrano, Los Alamitos, Huntington Beach, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo and Escondido in opposing the state’s open borders law.

All of the cities and counties listed above are, of course, at the southern end of the state, and thus bear the brunt of the negative impacts of open borders policies advocated by Governor Jerry Brown and the state’s openly seditious Democrat Party.  Some may characterize these actions as futile gestures, but the intervention into lawsuits like this by impacted parties play a key role in the judicial process.  In this case, they show that there are still people in California who care about the good of the country as a whole, which is a very gratifying thing indeed.

When you appoint a true strict constructionist justice, you get strict constructionist decisions. – Many observers were surprised on Tuesday when the Supreme Court issued an immigration-related decision in which Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch sided with the four liberals on the court to deal the administration a setback.  The case revolved around how U.S. deportation law defines a violent crime for the purpose of deporting illegal immigrants to their home country.  Gorsuch joined the court’s liberal minority in ruling that the definition was overly vague and thus unenforceable under the Constitution.

Anyone who is surprised by his ruling should make themselves aware that, in 2015, the man Gorsuch replaced on the court, the late Antonin Scalia, ruled that similar language in a law imposing longer prison sentences on repeat offenders was also unconstitutional for the same reason.  Thus, while this decision by Gorsuch is inconvenient for the Trump administration, the fact that he ruled as he did should actually be encouraging to anyone who calls themselves a conservative.

Liberals opposed Gorsuch because they believed he would be a down-the-line strict constructionist, like Justice Scalia.  Turns out, they were right for once.

“In today’s news, North and South Korean end war, now back to rolling video of a porn star.” – Lost in all the fake news media frenzy over porn stars and Sean Hannity lawyers yesterday was the amazingly consequential announcement by South Korea leaders that they are meeting with the leaders of North Korea this week to change the 65 year-old armistice agreement between the two countries into the formal ending to the state of war between them.  After pretty much burying the story yesterday, the fake news media and Democrat paid liars will no doubt spend today trying to tell us all how Barack Obama somehow deserves credit for this amazing turn of events.

The truth, of course, is that everything Obama did related to the situation on the Korean peninsula during his 8 disastrous years in office simply made the situation worse, and this current easing of tensions there is purely President Trump’s doing.  Later in the day, the President also announced to the slack-jawed White House press corps of fake journalists that the administration was already engaged with North Korean emissaries in negotiations “at very high levels.”  Early this morning, the President tweeted that Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo had actually met with North Korea’s Crazy Little Fat Guy late last week, characterizing the meeting as having gone “very smoothly.”:

Obviously, we are still a long way from real denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, but there is real progress taking place in that direction, a progress that our three prior administrations spent a quarter of a century failing to advance.  There is no magic to any of this – what Trump has been doing with the Crazy Little Fat Guy is promoting the Reagan Doctrine of “Peace through strength.”  24 years of appeasement policies only emboldened and enabled the succession of three different Kim dictators to pursue their nuclear ambitions, pretty much with impunity.

Now that a leader of the United States has demonstrated clearly that this country is willing to confront not only North Korea, but also its benefactors in China on the matter, we see this sudden desire to engage in real negotiations.  Amazing how that works.  Well, amazing to liberals and fake journalists, anyway.

Just another day in appeasement never works America.

That is all.

Comey the Corrupt Drama Queen Gets His Media-fed Moment [Updated]

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet?  – Congressional Budget Office (CBO) economists now admit that the Trump tax cuts will more than pay for themselves.  In a report released yesterday – and studiously ignored by the fake news media, mainly because none of the CBO economists look like a porn star – the CBO now admits it vastly underestimated the tax cuts’ impact on economic growth, estimating that they will raise such growth by a full percentage point.

None of this is surprising, given that the CBO’s method requires them to use a “static” analysis, which does not allow them to take the economy-stimulating impacts of tax cuts into account.  The reality is that even CBO’s new analysis is likely to be extremely conservative due to that fact.

So all those Democrat/fake news media talking points about how the tax cuts are going to explode the deficit?  Just more lies.  But you already knew that.

Democrats in Action. – Mike Pompeo’s senate confirmation hearing to become our next Secretary of State began on Thursday, and lunatic New Jersey Senator Corey Booker zeroed in like a laser on the crucial foreign policy issue of the day:  During his allotted 5 minutes of time, Booker asked Pompeo not once, not twice, but three times about his views on…wait for it…oh, you gotta wait for this one…gay sex!  Yes, the very ambitious Mr. Booker, who plans to pursue the Democrat nomination for the presidency in 2020, thinks the most important thing he and the American people need to know about the guy who will likely become the nation’s chief diplomat is what he thinks about what gay people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

Somehow, I don’t think that particular issue is likely to come up during the upcoming negotiations with the Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea.  Just a guess.

Can’t they just secede from the union instead?  That would be much better. – The London Telegraph reports that activists in California have now moved a step closer to carving the Golden State up into three smaller states, thanks to the efforts of Hotmail founder Tim Draper.  Draper’s funding helped ensure that a petition effort was able to collect 600,000 signatures from California residents in favor of holding a referendum on the matter, far more than the needed 364,000, which represents approximately 1% of California’s current population.

Those of you who are worried about the prospect of adding 4 additional Californians along the lines of San Fran Nan, Maxine Waters, Dianne Feinstein or Kamala Harris to the U.S. senate can breathe easy, since, even if this referendum should succeed, it would require super-majority approval in both houses of congress to go into effect, and that isn’t going to happen.  It’s still fun to watch, though.

James Comey’s long-anticipated book hit the shelves on Thursday, and boy is it a doozy.  In the book, the bi-polar drama queen former ex-FBI Director and current Twitter savant says that President Trump is “untethered to the truth,” and acts like a mob boss.

It is fair to point out that this is the very same James Comey whose leadership turned the FBI into a rogue, outlaw organization, an organization that ignored its mandated duties in order to coordinate an effort to steal an election and, having failed at that, reverse its outcome.  This is the same James Comey who led a completely phony “investigation” into the Clinton email scandal, the same James Comey who wrote a memo exonerating the Pantsuit Princess of all charges four months before he had bothered to even interview her or any of her chief assistants.

This is the same James Comey who has committed perjury multiple times before congressional committees, the same James Comey who most likely ordered Andrew McCabe to forge his notes from his interview of General James Flynn, the same James Comey who we know leaked classified information to the New York Times and stole government property on his way out the door when he was fired.

In other words, were James Comey a witness to a murder, the prosecution’s lawyers would never call him to the stand to testify, because the defense lawyers would rip him to shreds and leave him crying like a little, 6’8″ tall girl.

I’ve often pointed out that the Clintons’ favorite political tactic is projection, i.e., whenever they’re guilty of some bad act, they deflect attention by accusing their opponents of exactly the same bad behavior.  Mr. Comey’s book demonstrates that he learned a lot from the Clintons while conducting his sham investigation.

Naturally, the first televised interview this deluded paragon of virtue will conduct about the book is with ABC’s fake host George Stephanopolous, who spent a decade serving as a toady for Bill and Hillary Clinton.  ABC’s promo ad for the interview shows Georgie tossing out a series of predictably softball questions to an apparently mute Comey.  If you play a drinking game during the interview in which you take a shot of tequila every time Comey is asked a tough question, you will end the night completely sober.  Because that’s what the fake news media does.

Just another day in fake news media and demented Democrats America.

That is all.

Update:  Just to prove that he reads the Campaign Update each and every morning, President Trump issued the following two tweets within 30 minutes of this piece going live:

So.  Damn.  Awesome.  Never, never, never, ever stop tweeting, Mr. President.  Please, never stop.

Trump Dropped Some Twitter Bombs Sunday Morning

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

While so many Trump supporters have spent the last couple of days tossing tantrums about the President’s decision to sign the horrible Omnibus spending bill, some good things have been happening without getting much notice from the fake news media.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Just a few days after the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, I wrote a piece that laid much of the blame at the feet of an insane Obama-era policy that rewarded school administrators and law enforcement officials for refusing to enforce the law against students who engage in criminal activity.  In the ensuing weeks since, more and more people in the news media have begun to report on the scam.  Better late than never.

This growing attention level has now led to a positive outcome:  The Trump Administration announced on Friday that it will eliminate the Obama policy.  Just one more element of the insane, un-American Obama legacy falls by the wayside.

The fake news media really hasn’t paid much attention to this reality yet – it’s been too busy trying to whip the public into a gun-grabbing frenzy and reporting on a porn startlet – but with his staff moves over the last month, President Donald Trump has basically purged his team of senior advisors of globalists.

  • Senior Economic Advisor Gary Cohn – gone.  Replaced with the Reaganite Larry Kudlow.
  • Secretary of State Rex Tillerson – gone.  Replaced – if he can be confirmed – by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
  • National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster – gone.  Replaced by John Bolton.

Assuming Pompeo is ultimately confirmed, the Trump Cabinet and team of senior advisors will basically be devoid of the open borders/new world order internationalist influence.  While it is true that Bolton is an interventionist who favors aggressive U.S. military involvement in civil wars all around the world, he is very much on board with the Trump plan to dramatically increase border security.

Bolton also promises to “clean house” once ensconced in the job, eliminating dozens of Obama holdovers and other internationalists who are not loyal to President Trump, according to a report at Foreign Policy on Saturday.  Taking this action will almost certainly eliminate many, if not most of the leaks coming from the White House, some of which have been criminal in nature.

Bottom line, 14 months into his first term, Trump is finally putting together the team of leaders he should have had in the first place.  Again, better late than never.

Early this morning, President Trump issued the following two tweets:

These tweets are potentially very important, particularly the last sentence in the first one:  “Build wall through M!”, the “M” standing for “Military.”

The federal budgeting process is very complex and arcane, and one thing to remember in this current situation is that this “Omnibus” spending bill is just that:  A spending bill, not a formal budget.  It is a compilation of suggested spending levels for each executive branch department and the military, along with an array of restrictions that dictate how some, but not all of that money can be spent.

It’s important to also remember in this context that, on December 21, the President took the step of declaring a national human rights emergency related to child-trafficking, a declaration that would allow Mr. Trump broad discretion in taking action to crack down on those who participate in such human rights abuses.  It’s key to note that much such child trafficking involves moving kidnapped children in and out of the United States of America.

A second point to note is that, on Friday, the President notified congress that, in signing the Omnibus, he is accepting the funds under the provisions of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.  This law also gives the President broad discretion in making decisions to refuse to spend funds that have been authorized by congress, as well as allowing him to reallocate spending priorities within the budgets of individual executive branch departments.

Finally, lets also note that, last October, the President declared a national emergency related to opioid abuse.

Now, read the text of that first tweet again, in the context of what is laid out above.  “Building a great border wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense.”  Combine that with “”Build wall through M!” and, it’s not unreasonable to think that Mr. Trump is at least considering the possibility of reallocating some portion of the beefed-up military budget to pay for building the wall along the southern border.

Doing that would of course create a media firestorm, but hell, what else is new?  And such a decision would also inevitably lead to a raft of lawsuits filed by leftwing activist groups before carefully-selected Obama-appointed federal judges, and possibly even a lawsuit from congress challenging the action.  But at the end of the day, such cases would have to go before the Supreme Court, where the President would most likely prevail, given the constitutional separation of powers.

As I’ve repeatedly pointed out, contrary to what the fake news media wants you to think, President Trump doesn’t just belch stuff out onto his twitter feed at random.  His tweets almost always have a purpose.  Often that purpose is to elicit a specific reaction from the fake news media.  Sometimes the purpose is to send up a trial balloon to gauge how the public would respond if he took a specific action.

I think Mr. Trump was doing both with those two tweets:  elicit a specific response from the media, and then gauge the public reaction to the media firestorm before deciding whether to move ahead.

Just another day in there really is good news out there if you look for it America.

That is all.

Tillerson Was the Best Sec. of State in a Decade; Pompeo Will Be Better

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, what to make of the Rex Tillerson firing?  There’s a lot to unpack here, so I’ll try to do it in a fairly orderly fashion.

First, let’s state up front the undeniable truth that Rex Tillerson was the nation’s finest Secretary of State in a decade.  Unlike his two immediate predecessors in the job, Mr. Tillerson is a patriot, a lover of America, a believer in promoting American-style Democracy around the world and protecting U.S. national security at home.  He had no interest in selling America’s foreign policy to the highest bidder or in promoting radical Islam throughout the Middle East and other parts of the world.

So, we all owe Mr. Tillerson our thanks for his service, and an appreciation for the way in which he represented the country for the last 14 months.

That having all been said, no one should be surprised at all that he is being replaced in his job.  The fact of the matter is that Tillerson was not on the same page as the President he pledged to serve in too many ways to have lasted long in the office.  Here are some examples:

  • He is a big fan of the horrible deal the Obama Administration did with the terrorist supporing Mullahs in Iran, and consistently slow-played providing information to the President that was not positive towards keeping the agreement in place;
  • He was accused of having called the President a “moron” behind his back last summer, and refused to either deny or apologize for uttering that insult despite being repeatedly questioned about it.  Not a lot of employees are going to survive calling their boss a “moron” for very long;
  • He is a big believer in man-made “global warming” theory in an administration made up largely of skeptics, and was reportedly upset that the President cancelled U.S. participation in the Paris Climate Accords;
  • He has not at any point been supportive of President Trump’s approach to dealing with the Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea;
  • He has been slow to hire people to fill senior posts in the State Department and even slower to clean out the deep state holdovers from the Obama Administration.

There are other examples of Tillerson’s conflict with his boss, but those seem to be the main ones.  Quite simply, Tillerson is not a “Trump guy” and was never going to become one.

He will now be replaced by Mike Pompeo, the current CIA Director, who is a “Trump guy” and will be on board with the Trump program.  Coming out of his CIA role, Pompeo knows where all the bodies are buried, all over the world.  This is a guy who graduated first in his class at West Point, a mechanical engineer with a highly analytical mind who doesn’t take any BS off of anybody.

He has a law degree from Harvard, where he served on the law review.  He’s a three-term congressman from Kansas who served on committees with oversight related to energy, intelligence, business and commerce and the CIA, as well as the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

You probably won’t be seeing any reports about Pompeo calling his boss a “moron,” and if you do, you’ll see a quick and unambiguous denial  from Pompeo, because any such report will be a fabrication.  You won’t see Pompeo slow-walking anything negative towards the Iran deal, or slow-walking anything else, for that matter.  You won’t see Pompeo shedding tears about the Paris Accords or publicly at odds with the President over North Korea.

We all owe Tillerson our gratitude, and we should all be happy that Pompeo will be our new Secretary of State.  The Trump Administration just got stronger with this change.

When news of the Pompeo appointment became public, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer issued the following tweet, one which he probably thought would make all of his base of leftwing idiots happy as little clams:

But it turned out that not all leftwing idiots were happy after all.  The leftwing idiot who is the de facto propaganda minister for the Russian-supported anti-Fracking movement, Josh Fox, responded to Chuckie’s tweet with a little R-rated missive of his own:

So, as you can see, there is trouble in pinhead paradise.  No doubt, Schumer’s completely insincere reference to getting tough towards Putin and Russia is what really set Fox off.  After all, a guy’s got to make a living, right?  You cut that Russian funding off, why, the anti-fracking movement would have to find some honest money instead.  And that would be hard.

That is all.
