The G7 Summit: Trump’s Reykjavik Moment

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Someone really needs to relieve John McCain of his I-phone. – The guy whose rejection by the American people gave us Barack Hussein Obama got all upset on Saturday over President Trump’s refusal to bow to our Euro-Canadian betters at the G7 summit, and decided to send the following tweet:

There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that a bipartisan majority of the American people remain pro-globalization, but nevermind, the Senator from the news media has decided it is so.  And so, the guy who could not win the presidency in his own right decides to undermine the trade policy efforts of the guy who was able to win the presidency.

Delete your account, Senator McCain, and while you’re at it, resign the senate seat that you have not manned for a single day this year.  It’s time.

We are witnessing history on a grand scale. – Make no mistake about it, this G7 meeting was the most consequential such meeting ever held, an event every bit as crucial for the future of the free world as Reagan’s walking away from Gorbachev’s siren song at Reykjavik in 1986.  This is true for one simple reason:  The most powerful nation present, by far, now refuses to speak with the forked tongue of globalism.  What’s more, probably the second most powerful nation present – at least economically – is also trending in that direction.

Take a look at this very telling picture:

The first thing you notice is that the only guy seated is completely dominating the room.  He’s the absolute center of everyone’s attention, the singular target of their pleading and scolding.  The second thing you notice is the body language of Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, is exactly the same as President Trump’s.  They’re both taking in the preaching of Macron and Merkel, and not buying a word of what they’re saying.

Why?  Because they both know that these European peacocks are powerless without the backing of the United States of America.  Abe, in fact, knows that is the truth about his own country, and has been the truth since the end of World War II.

Despite all the shrill denunciations of President Trump in the fake American news media today, every bit of real leverage in that room is on America’s side.  The leaders of the other G7 nations know that, they know their economies can’t survive without the American largesse and one-sided trade practices they’ve enjoyed for 70+ years, and that is why they so detest Donald Trump.  He refuses to speak the false language of globalism that Senator McCain wants him to speak and which every previous U.S. president since Reagan has gladly spoken.

Senator McCain and his fellow establishment Republicans, along with every Democrat and fake journalist practicing today would have Mr. Trump simply surrender all that leverage, all that power, in the name of globalism and their fool’s notion of “fairness.”

This President isn’t going to do that because, unlike his four immediate predecessors in office, he understands the crucial nature of leverage and power, and plans to keep using both to advance the interests not of some international “world order”, but of the American people.

Today, he arrives in Singapore for preparations for his June 12 summit meeting with the Crazy Little Fat Guy from North Korea, Kim Jong Un.  The very same establishment Republicans, Democrats and fake journalists and talking heads who for the past two days have scolded President Trump for having the  nerve to jealously protect American interests and deploy our country’s massive leverage in international negotiations will now shift to fretting that Mr. Trump is now going to somehow completely surrender all that leverage and power in his negotiations with the little Rocket Man.

The hilarious part of all of this is that they’re all too dim and lacking in self-awareness to even understand the massive inherent contradictions and rank hypocrisy in their own arguments.  There is absolutely no reason at all to believe that this President – in stark contrast to his predecessors – will do anything other than jealously protect American interests and strongly deploy U.S. leverage while at the same time giving Kim the opportunity to concede what he must concede in order to improve his and his country’s situation.

But hey, this is what these people do – what they have been doing for the last 30 years, in fact.  It’s all they know, and it’s why our country is in inherently unfair trade agreements with pretty much every other major economy on the face of the earth, and it’s why Trump inherited a situation in which North Korea had been able to build its own nuclear capability as the free world stood by and did nothing.

In the magnificent press conference he held as he exited the G7 to head for Singapore on Saturday, the President in fact placed the blame for all of this squarely where it belongs:  On America’s past leaders.  “They can’t charge us 270 percent and we charge them nothing, that doesn’t work anymore,” he said before adding that he believes these other countries are now, despite outward appearances, committed to moving toward fairer trade agreements.  “I don’t blame them, I blame our leaders,” he continued. “In fact, I congratulate leaders of other countries for so crazily being able to make those trade deals that were so good for their country and bad for the United States.”

Exactly.  Our leaders have been suckers for too long.

“We are like the piggy bank that everybody is robbing,” he added,  “And that ends.”

John McCain and his fellow globalists hate that, because treating the American taxpayer as a massive piggy bank is what they’ve done for their entire adult lives.  Trump threatens their entire world view, and that’s why they hate him so desperately.

It’s very important – and telling – to note that Ronald Reagan received exactly the same reaction from milquetoast Republicans and the fake American news media after he walked away from Reyjavik.  Less than 3 years after he did that, the Soviet Union collapsed and the Berlin Wall came down.

It’s isn’t going to take that long for Trump to get the more favorable trade deals he is seeking from these powerless apparatchiks.  It will probably all be done within a year.  Because at the end of the day, all the leverage and power are in America’s hands, and Trump isn’t going to surrender it.

Just another day of Trump putting America first, and all the globalists hating him for it.

That is all.

Trump Dominates the G7, and the Globalist Community Can’t Stand it

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Godspeed, Charles Krauthammer – I read Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s letter on Friday with feelings fondness and sadness.  I’ve been a big fan of his writing – and later of his commentary on the Fox All-Star panel discussions – for at least 30 years now, so the news that he has only a few more weeks to live in this life is something I find to be profoundly sad, although I’ve had a feeling for months now that this news was coming.

Dr. Krauthammer won a Pulitzer Prize in 1985 for his commentaries, back when Pulitzer Prizes were awarded for actual, outstanding contributions to journalism and not for the sort of fake news hackery for which several CNN employees were awarded a few weeks ago.  Krauthammer won that Prize for good reason:  He was the best in the business, and remained so for many years afterwards.

I did not always agree with Krauthammer – he was a notorious #NeverTrump adherent throughout 2015 and 2016, after all – but I always looked forward to his viewpoint, because he was unerringly able to make his case through supportable logic and wit.  Other #NeverTrumpers whose names I won’t name could learn much from the Doctor in this regard.

Bret Baier and his occasional fill-in hosts have had a difficult time finding adequate replacements for Krauthammer, and the All-Star panel will never be the same without him.  Unlike many of the others who try unsuccessfully to fill the void, the Doctor was always able to disagree without resorting to hyperbole or disagreeable tactics.

Logic, facts and wit were all he ever needed.  He was one of a kind, and will be extremely missed.

He’s good enough, he’s sexy enough, and doggonit, the ladies like him. – Disgraced ex-Senator Al Franken received some defending he probably didn’t want, given the source, on Friday when disgraced ex-President and lifelong woman abuser Bill Clinton decided to weigh in on his case.  Somehow I’m thinking Franken would have preferred for ol’ Slick to just leave bad enough alone.  Just a guess.

Sacre’ bleu – he really means that ‘America first’ nonsense? – Oh, golly, our G7 “allies” are all verklempt at President Donald Trump over the import tariffs he has gone about implementing recently.  The President was singularly unperturbed about all the bitter scorn he was getting from the Angela Merkels and boy leaders of France and Canada, repeatedly expressing his certainty that those countries and others will ultimately come around and negotiate more equitable tariff deals rather than simply endure the reciprocal tariffs the U.S. has recently implemented

Most of these other countries – France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Japan – have enjoyed essentially being on the U.S. dole since the end of World War II.  The U.S. started what has become a 70+ year massive transfer of wealth to those nations with the implementation of the Marshall Plan in 1948, and has expanded on that initial $13 billion outlay ever since.

President after president and congress after congress have agreed to enact one-sided tariff policies that overwhelmingly advantage these other nations’ economies, adding Canada and Mexico to this wealth-and-jobs-draining mix in the mid-1990s with the NAFTA deal and adding China in more recently for good measure.  Our country has, for what were initially valid reasons, also relieved the Europeans and Canada from the burden of having to truly pay for their own military defense, spending hundreds of billions of dollars every year by having our own military personnel bases, missiles and other tools of war stationed on Eastern Europe and Japan even today, long after the Soviet Union disappeared and the economies of Germany and Japan recovered to world power stature.

To make matters even more absurd, Barack Obama and John Kerry chose to elevate this massive transfer of U.S. wealth to these other countries by committing our country to the heinous Paris Climate Accords, which were every bit the massive fraud on the American public that the Iran deal was.  These Accords had literally nothing to do with “climate” and everything to do with transferring trillions more U.S. dollars to the other signatory nations over the course of 15 years.

Want proof?  As of today, the United States is the only nation earth that is not a signatory to this fraudulent agreement, and is also the only nation on earth that has actually met and exceeded its emissions reductions “goals” under the deal.  Of course all those other countries are upset – they were all looking forward to getting their slice of that gigantic pie.

So it’s no surprise that Merkel and Macron and the Boy Prince of Canada are bitter:  They see a money spigot that has flowed from the United States of America for decades beginning to slow and have no idea how they’re going to tell their citizens that their economies are going to have to bear the cost of fielding real militaries and pay their own ways.  They’re like a couple of parents who have sponged off their rich uncle for decades suddenly having to face telling their 30 year-old kids they’re going to have to move out of the house because they’ve been cut off by Uncle Sam.

But here’s the big secret the fake news media in this country won’t tell you:  President Trump isn’t looking to cut all these spoiled children states off completely – he never promised that.  He’s simply looking for concessions from them that are substantial enough to give him the ability to keep his campaign promise of negotiating a “better deal for America.”

Canada is a great example:  The Canadian government has for many years shipped Chinese goods into the U.S. tariff-free under NAFTA due to a specific exemption in that treaty.  All the Boy Prince has to do is concede on that inherently unfair provision and the rest of NAFTA will remain largely intact.  The other countries in the G7 have their own inherently unfair tariff provisions that are unreasonable and should be conceded in order to avoid an outright trade war that benefits no one.

It isn’t 1948 anymore – if Italy’s economy is still a wreck, the United States has no responsibility for that.  If Germany has idiotically assumed the societal burden of importing more than a million Muslim refugees into its country, that was not America’s decision.  If England’s economy is struggling under the growing burdens of creeping fascim, America did not do that.  Sorry.

These other leaders dislike President Trump because, unlike most of his post-WWII predecessors, he refuses to smile and keep up the globalist lie.  He’s exposing them for the leeches they have long been, and won’t be giving in.  They all know this, they know the difficulties this new reality will cause them at home, and really have no idea how they’re going to deal with it all.

America First.  Finally, a U.S. President who means that when he says it.  Despite all the warnings Trump gave them throughout 2015 and 2016, these other national leaders never believed he would follow through.

Just another day of Trump putting America first.

That is all.

James Comey Finds That Being a Teenage Drama Queen Ain’t All it’s Cracked up to be

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet? – President and First Lady Melania Trump hosted their first formal state dinner in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron last night, and it was by all accounts a rousing success.  Even better, not one single, solitary Washington, DC-based Democrat was invited to attend, a fact that the fake reporters and fake anchors at CNN whined about endlessly.  The lone Democrat in attendance was the execrable Governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, I guess because of that whole Louisiana Purchase thing.  Governor Edwards, a trial lawyer who is using his office to destroy the Louisiana economy, behaving like a tin pot dictator in the process, is as good a representative of his party as anyone could be.

Hey, this whole book tour plan to take down President Trump idea just is not going the way we planned it! – Late yesterday, reports began to circulate that teenage drama queen ex-FBI Director James Comey is suddenly getting a little concerned that his plan to take down a sitting president by releasing his angst-filled diaries to the public and charging $95 a pop for people to listen to him talk about how The Man done him wrong is actually boomeranging on him and exposing him further than he already was to criminal prosecution.  So he’s gone out and hired himself a good criminal lawyer, a man who happens to be the godfather of Comey’s children, and a man whose name will be very familiar to some of you.

That man’s name?  Patrick Fitzgerald.

Yes, friends and countrymen, the self-same Patrick Fitzgerald who spent a couple of years during the George W. Bush administration as the last “special counsel” to conduct a witch hunt against a Republican presidency.  The same Patrick Fitzgerald whose only notable conviction out of that fiasco was the false conviction of Scooter Libby on a perjury trap, a conviction that President Trump reversed just days ago.  That guy right there is the freaking godfather of freaking James Comey’s freaking kids.

So, here’s what a bad actor our former FBI Director happens to be:  His best friend is the current special counsel and his kids’ godfather is the former special counsel and his other really good buddy is the guy who illegally appointed the current special counsel based solely on the content of Comey’s teen-angst diaries, and despite all of this, Comey still finds himself in the situation of likely facing an array of criminal charges for his actions while serving as FBI director and after he was fired.

Shortly after the release of Comey’s book I half-jokingly wrote that this whole book idea was actually just Comey’s version of Andrew McCabe’s GoFundMe effort to raise a legal defense fund.  Today I’m repeating that thought, and I’m not joking.  I actually now fully believe that that is what the book is all about.  And the scheme has been highly successful:  As of yesterday, Comey’s book had already sold 600,000 copies, proving yet again P.T. Barnum’s old adage there is indeed a sucker born every minute.

Speaking of Comey, he held a book-shilling event at the Newseum in Washington last night, and the crowd was very predictably made up mainly of fawning fake reporters eager to secure a moment of time and selfies with their hero.  Also in attendance was former DNC Chairman and Clinton toady Donna Brazile, who engaged in her own efforts to fix the 2016 election by feeding debate questions to the Pantsuit Princess in advance.  Birds of a feather…

If this surprises you, you need to pay closer attention. – And it gets even better with Comey.  Fox News reports that the Columbia Law Professor who served as Comey’s conduit for illegally leaking his classified-information-filled memos to the New York Times was actually serving as an unpaid agent with “special status” for the FBI.  I swear I do not make this stuff up.

I just love this passage from the Fox story:

Sources familiar with Richman’s status at the FBI told Fox News that he was assigned to “special projects” by Comey, and had a security clearance as well as badge access to the building. Richman’s status was the subject of a Memorandum of Understanding.

Yes, he was assigned “special projects” such as trying and failing to give Comey cover for illegally leaking classified information to the fake news media, an act for which Comey now feels the need to retain a very expensive lawyer.  That kind of “special project.”

It turns out that being a 6’8″ tall, 57 year-old teenage drama queen just ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Just another day in you couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried America.

That is all.
