“We fight…”: The October 2016 Trump Speech That Laid Everything Out

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[This is for everyone feeling discouraged today about the brutal tactics being deployed by the Justice Department’s deep state cabal and fake national news media against a duly elected president.  Now is not the time to lose courage.  Now is the time to stand firm.]

On October 13, 2016, less than a month before Election Day and just a few days after the national news media attempted to kill his candidacy once and for all with the frenzy over the Billy Bush tape, Donald Trump delivered a dramatic speech that laid everything out for all to see.  It is one of the greatest and most compelling speeches in presidential campaign history, and it shows that Mr. Trump was coming into this job with his eyes wide open and with a full understanding of the deep state establishment arrayed against him.

Given that, it is well worth a review at this particular moment in time, as the forces lined up to try to kill this presidency move into their end game.  The full text of the speech can be found here, but below are some of the more relevant out-takes:

“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new
government controlled by you, the American People. There is nothing the political
establishment will not do, and no lie they will not tell, to hold on to their prestige and
power at your expense.
The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it,
exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.”

Note the inclusion of the “media corporations” as an integral part of the “Washington establishment,” which is absolutely true.  You cannot fully understand what the President is faced with today unless you accept the truth of that statement.

“For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special
interests they partner with, our campaign represents an existential threat.
This is not simply another 4-year election. This is a crossroads in the history of our
civilization that will determine whether or not We The People reclaim control over our
government.”

Even a month before Election Day – and well before that – Trump understood what he would be faced with should he become President.  He also clearly informs voters what was truly at stake in the election, and remains in jeopardy to this day.

“The political establishment that is trying everything to stop us, is the same group
responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration, and economic
and foreign policies that have bled this country dry…”

“It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have
robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into
the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities…”

“The Clinton Machine is at the center of this power structure. We’ve seen this firsthand in
the WikiLeaks documents in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international
banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial
powers.  And, likewise, the emails show that the Clinton Machine is so closely and irrevocably
tied to media organizations that she is given the questions and answers in advance of
her debates. Clinton is also given approval and veto power over quotes written about her
in the New York Times. And the emails show the reporters collaborate and conspire
directly with the Clinton Campaign on helping her win the election.”

Reflect on this passage today, a day after the home, office and even hotel room of Trump’s personal lawyer were raided in the wee hours of the morning by FBI thugs carrying out orders not just from a special counsel but from a U.S. Attorney as well.  Is it clear now why, despite the outrageousness of her conduct and massive amount of compelling evidence proving her implication in so many crimes against our country, Hillary Clinton’s lawyers were not only not subjected to similar raids, but were in fact granted immunity by James Comey and an utterly corrupt FBI and Justice Department?

Again, Trump understood he would not receive anything resembling equal treatment under the law, yet continued to seek the office.  Only a man who truly cares about this country and its people would have done that in the light of this foreknowledge.

“The most powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media. Let’s be
clear on one thing: the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in
journalism. They are a political special interest, no different than any lobbyist or other
financial entity with an agenda. And their agenda is to elect the Clintons at any cost, at
any price, no matter how many lives they destroy.”

Exactly.

“…I take all of these slings and arrows for you. I take them for our movement, so
that we can have our country back. Our great civilization, here in America and across
the civilized world, has come upon a moment of reckoning.

We’ve seen it in the United Kingdom, where they voted to liberate themselves from
global government and global trade deals and global immigration deals that have
destroyed their sovereignty.

But the central base of world political power is here in America, and it is our corrupt
political establishment that is the greatest power behind the efforts at radical
globalization and the disenfranchisement of working people.”

This clearly explains Trump’s laser focus on border security issues, and his persistent efforts to reform our immigration system.  He clearly recognizes the moment he is in, and the threat open borders represents to the country.

“I didn’t need to do this. I built a great company, and I had a wonderful life. I could have
enjoyed the benefits of years of successful business for myself and my family, instead of
going through this absolute horror show of lies, deceptions and malicious attacks. I’m
doing it because this country has given me so much, and I feel strongly it was my turn to
give back.

Some people warned me this campaign would be a journey to hell. But they are wrong, it
will be a journey to heaven because we will help so many people.”

Again the reason why he threw himself into harm’s way to begin with:  Love of country, love of the American people.  It really is that simple.

“What the Clinton Machine is doing to me, and my family, is egregious beyond words. It
is reprehensible beyond description.

Attacks on his 11 year-old son by the media and Democrats.  Unending attacks on his wonderfully accomplished daughter, Ivanka, and his two terrific sons, and their spouses, and their children.  Vicious, repugnant assaults on Melania, who is doing such a fantastic job as First Lady.  On and on and on it goes.  Yet, the man carries on.

But I also know, it’s not about me – it’s about all of you. It’s about all of us, together, as a
country.

It’s about the Veterans who need medical care, the mothers who’ve lost children to
terrorism and crime, it’s about the inner cities and the border towns who desperately
need our help, it’s about the millions of jobless Americans. This election is about the
people being crushed by Obamacare, and it’s about defeating ISIS and appointing
Supreme Court Justices who will defend our Constitution.

First appointment:  Justice Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.  And he has followed with conservative after conservative after conservative in his appointments to the lower courts.  Promise kept.

This election is also about the African-American and Hispanic communities whose
communities have been plunged into crime, poverty and failing schools by the policies of
Hillary Clinton. They’ve robbed these citizens of their future, and I will give them their
hope, jobs and opportunities back. I will deliver.

Lowest African American and Hispanic unemployment rates in history, but they go un-remarked by the deep state fake news media.  He has give millions their hope, jobs and opportunities back.  He has truly delivered.

This election is about every man, woman and child in our country who deserves to live
in safety, prosperity and peace.

We will rise above the lies, the smears, and the ludicrous slanders from ludicrous
reporters.

We will vote for the country we want.

We will vote for the future we want.

We will vote to put this corrupt government cartel out of business.

We will remove from our politics the special interests who have betrayed our workers, our borders, our freedoms, and our sovereign rights as a nation. We will end the politics of profit, we will end the rule of special interests, we will put a stop to the raiding of our country – and
the disenfranchisement of our people.

Our Independence Day is at hand, and it arrives, finally, on November 8th. Join me in
taking back our country, and creating a bright and glorious new dawn for our people.”

Again, a full month before Election Day, Trump knew what he would be facing if he won, and he kept running anyway.  He kept running because he understood the survival of the country as we have known it was literally at stake.

In spite of the constant, unending, slanderous harassment from the fake news media, in spite of the ever-present, abusive nuisance of an out-of-control Special Counsel, in spite of incessant leaking by disloyal White House personnel he has gone about keeping the promises he made during his campaign to the American people day after day after day.  Fifteen months into his first term in office, he has almost completely dismantled the policy legacy of Barack Obama, though the Obama legacy of abject corruption of our nation’s institutions is proving much harder to reverse.

Donald Trump has not let us down in any way.  This is no time for us to start letting him down.

Stand firm.

That is all.

How to Read Wednesday’s Trump Tweet About Jeff Sessions

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Let’s dissect a tweet issued by President Trump earlier today.  Here it is:

Attorney General Sessions issued the following statement a bit later:

“We have initiated the appropriate process that will ensure complaints against this Department will be fully and fairly acted upon if necessary,” Mr. Sessions said in his statement. “As long as I am the Attorney General, I will continue to discharge my duties with integrity and honor, and this Department will continue to do its work in a fair and impartial manner according to the law and Constitution.”

So, sounds like the Attorney General is back in the President’s doghouse, and that he’s pretty irritated with being called out by Mr. Trump in that way, right?  On the surface, that’s exactly what it sounds like.

But let’s think about what lies beneath the surface in this situation.

First, why not use Justice Department lawyers to investigate the…well, the Justice Department?  After all, that’s who was abusing the FISA process, at least according to the findings published by the House Intelligence Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.  That would be sort of a conflict of interest, wouldn’t it?  Don’t you think the President, who spent 50 years in the business world, understands the concept of conflict of interest?  Of course he does.

Second, those DOJ lawyers have a pretty big investigation load going on already related to abuses during the Obama era.  Remember, over a 3-week period in December and January, AG Sessions announced his DOJ lawyers would be investigating Uranium One, the FBI’s sham investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email servers, the Clinton Foundation, and the Obama Administration’s refusal to prosecute members of the terrorist group Hezbollah in the interest of propping up its deal with Iran.  Don’t you think the President is aware of all of those ongoing investigations?  Of course he is.

Third, the IG is already investigating FBI and DOJ abuses in the investigation of the Clinton email scandal.  Oh, and by the way, the Hillary Clinton email scandal is directly linked to the FISA abuse scandal, given that both involve several of the same players at FBI, guys with names like Strzok, McCabe and Comey.  It is extremely likely that, during the course of his year-long investigation, IG Michael Horowitz has already been investigating the abuse of the FISA process – he could hardly help coming across evidence of wrongdoing in that case.  Don’t you think the President is aware of all of that?  Of course he is.

Fourth, yes, the IG does not have prosecutorial powers.  However, he does have the power to make criminal referrals to the Attorney General.  What is going to have more public credibility – indictments issued by the Republican DOJ attorneys working for a Republican AG, or indictments sought by the Republican AG on the advice of an IG who….

Fifth, yes IG Horowitz was appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, as the President conveniently reminds us in his tweet.

Sixth, while the fake news media and #neverTrump people who have been wrong about everything for the last three years always claim that the President just belches these things out on Twitter without giving them a moment’s thought, the truth is that we have found out repeatedly that there is pretty much always a method to his seeming madness; and

Seventh, there is this passage from the Sessions statement: “… this Department will continue to do its work in a fair and impartial manner according to the law and Constitution.”  What could be more fair and impartial and in accordance with the law than relying on an Obama appointee with a spotless reputation for fairness and impartiality to conduct these investigations?  And who, by the way, every Democrat talking head on TV will spend the next week defending, precisely because of the President’s exchange with his Attorney General today.

Let me speculate what the method behind this particular tweet and the AG’s response might be:

  • I expect we are about to see IG Horowitz issue his report on his 14 month investigation into the Clinton email scandal soon, as in no later than a week from now;
  • I expect we are going to discover that his 14-month investigation covered a lot more ground than just the email scandal, and will likely include findings related to Uranium One, the Clinton Foundation and other matters that were very interrelated to the email scandal;
  • I expect the report will contain a raft of criminal referrals, and that AG Sessions will promptly act on those referrals;
  • I expect the fake news media is going to wail in protest and will naturally go after Horowitz,  but is going to have a pretty hard time convincing the public that the guy who was appointed by Barack Obama just spent 14 months dummying up a report at the behest of Donald Trump;
  • I expect that the President is actually pretty pleased with Sessions, and that if he was really as upset with his AG as he has pretended to be over the last 14 months and as mercurial as the fake news media like to portray him as being, he’d have fired Sessions in a fit of pique long ago.

That’s a lot of expectations out of a single tweet and a one-paragraph response, but as I said above, the President really doesn’t just toss stuff like this out onto his Twitter account for no reason.

That is all.
