Saturday Scattershooting While Waiving Bye-Bye To Tom Price

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Well, she was talking about those ‘other’ women – Michelle Obama said that “any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice.”  No word from the former First Lady on what she was doing during the 2008 Democrat nominating contest when she actively campaigned for a mean ol’ man against Mrs. Clinton and presumably voted for her husband rather than her “own voice” in the Illinois primary that year.
  • Tired of winning yet?  Part 1 – all the stock indexes closed at all-time record highs yet again on Friday, as the U.S. economy continues to hum along in response to the Trump Administration’s ongoing program to remove the shackles of unnecessary soviet-style regulations that were piled onto it during the Obama years.  This has happened so often during the last 8 months that it has become passe’ to even mention it.  But there, I mentioned it.
  • Tired of winning yet?  Part II – U.S. GDP for the 2nd quarter of 2017 was raised to a final estimate of 3.1% on Friday, the highest quarterly rate of economic growth in many years.  If you want to know why, see the bit about removal of soviet-style regulations above.  This is not exactly rocket science.
  • Because that’s what happens when a Republican charges taxpayers $1 million in air travel in just 8 months – To literally nobody’s surprise, President Trump fired HHS Secretary Tom Price Friday afternoon, after it had been revealed that he felt his entire job was to fly in high style all over the damn world every week at exorbitant taxpayer expense.  He apparently didn’t break any laws, and he didn’t do anything myriad Obama officials had not done the past 8 years, but unlike Democrat presidencies, Republican administrations must hold their people accountable for this kind of behavior.  Mr. Price apparently didn’t understand that, which means he was too dumb to hold a secretarial position in the first place.
  • I wrote on Thursday about my belief that the just-begun effort by the GOP establishment leadership in congress to move a tax reform bill is just a Kabuki dance, and that the outcome is already fore-ordained to be a McConnell/Ryan joint presser in December in which they tell us all they did their best but they just ran out of time.  If you don’t believe that, read the piece linked here in The Hill, in which various House Republicans are already speculating how the bill will ultimately be killed in the Senate, maybe by the same group of RINOs who killed the Obamacare bill.
  • Hell, you’ve even got the Chairman of Senate Finance, Utah Senator Orin Hatch – who is likely to retire next year, and thus never have to face the voters again – talking about ways to kill the effort in public.  The probable truth is that Mitch McConnell already has 8 or 9 members of his GOP caucus who can be counted on to vote against any version of a tax reform bill if he needs them.
  • They’ll couch their votes with objections like Hatch’s, i.e., “I feel very strongly we need to preserve that wonderful deduction for state and local taxes, oh my”.  Maybe Susan Collins’ objection will be her strong feeling that we need to give a special tax credit to any woman who seeks an abortion at Planned Parenthood clinics;  Lamar Alexander might want to preserve some special tax break for his state’s whiskey distillers; Lisa Murkowski might feel strongly about the need to preserve some tax program that benefits polar bears; John McCain might think he’s voting on the EPA appropriations bill rather than a tax bill;  regardless, the three GOP ‘no’ votes needed to kill this thing are already out there in some combination of senators or another.
  • I hate to be the bearer of this bad news because we really do need to reform our absurd tax system, but watching this all play out is like going to a movie whose previews have already revealed the final scene.  You already know how it’s going to end, but you go anyway just to see the details of how it all plays out.

Just another day in GOP congressional Kabuki dance America.

That is all.

Donald Trump Is The Best Unmasker Ever, Let Me Tell You

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It occurs to me this morning that, in the midst of all the hoopla over the unmasking of Trump campaign participants by the evil Obama minions, Donald Trump, both as candidate and as President, has actually perpetrated the greatest unmasking campaign in American history. Bear with me here – this is going to take about 700 words to explain:

  • Hey, what if the NFL had a game and all the players stood for the national anthem?  I didn’t watch, but apparently that’s what happened on Thursday night, as the backlash from fans to all the idiotic kneeling nonsense has created a sudden wave of patriotic panic, er, fervor among NFL players and executives.
  • Sorry guys, but it’s really just too late.  You’ve allowed your social justice warrior players to dismiss about 20% of your fan base over the past two seasons, and most of them just aren’t coming back.  Your lame explanations for your unpatriotic actions fell on deaf ears for one simple reason:  The blue collar, middle class, very patriotic guys and gals who make up the biggest part of your fan base are becoming increasingly “woke”, as all the kids and SJWs like to put it, thanks mainly to the guy they put in the White House.  In other words, you’ve been unmasked by Donald Trump.
  • That public woke-ness means that the standard lines of BS propaganda aren’t going to work on your fans like they used to, and it will probably take you the rest of this season and maybe longer to figure that out.  By the time you do figure that out, your players’ antics, leftist commentators and boring, tedious games will probably have alienated another 10-15% of your previous audience, and your contract re-negotiations with the TV networks in 2020 will become a horrifying situation for you.  And that’s good, because you richly deserve the fate you have created for yourselves.  You’ve earned it.
  • Speaking of standard lines of BS not working on the average American, The Washington Post reports on a new study conducted by professors at Cal-Berkeley and Stanford that reveals what anyone who really watched Donald Trump’s campaign flogging of Hillary Clinton and her billion dollar ad machine already knows:  that “Advertising and campaign contacts have almost no measurable persuasive impact, at least in general elections.”  Go figure.
  • Throughout the 2015 and 2016 campaign, I repeatedly pointed out that the reason why we saw literally every political professional and advertising executive rooting for Hillary was due to the simple fact that Donald Trump was proving them to be a waste of time and money.  He wasn’t using these people, other than a revolving door of a handful of senior advisors, because he didn’t need them.
  • Trump’s whole campaign consisted of getting up at 4 in the morning, doing telephone interviews on Fox, CNN and MSNBC before Hillary’s alarm clock had gone off, then hopping on his jet and flying off for 2 or 3 raucus campaign rallies in different states every day.  By noon each day, Trump had personally touched more voters than Hillary’s pervasive, ubiquitous advertising budget could touch in a week.
  • So the DC political campaign and advertising class hated Trump – and still hates him – because he clearly demonstrated that they are pretty much all a waste of time and money.  He totally unmasked them.
  • This new study further reinforces what Trump already knew:  “The best estimate for the persuasive effects of campaign contact and advertising — such as mail, phone calls, and canvassing — on Americans’ candidate choices in general elections is zero,” Kalla and Broockman write. “Our best guess for online and television advertising is also zero, but there is less evidence” in these cases.
  • The GOP runoff election in Alabama this week provides further support for this conclusion.  Luther Strange was able to out-spend Roy Moore by about 6 to 1 on advertising, thanks to huge injections of money from the DC political class.  But he lost by 10% of the vote despite the supposed advantages of incumbency and influence and even the wrong-headed endorsement from President Trump for the simple reason that he was identified by the voters as being a tool of that same DC political class.  In other words, he had been unmasked.
  • The big takeaway here is this:  The main reason why President Trump is so viscerally hated by so many different classes of people is because he has systematically shown the public their true nature.  The NFL hates him because he’s called out their league’s utter lack of patriotism; the fake news media hates him because he’s called out its rampant dishonesty; the Democrats hate him because he’s called them out for their anti-American mendacity; the establishment Republicans hate him because he’s called out their laziness and ineffectiveness; and the DC political campaign and advertising class hates him because he’s revealed their irrelevance.
  • It’s the greatest unmasking in American political history.  Real Americans should be very thankful to the President for his willingness to take the time to do it.

Just another day in unmasked America.

That is all.

The GOPe’s Next Act: Pretending To Want Tax Reform

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Well, you know it’s a slow news day in Donald Trump’s America when the biggest story is the introduction by Republicans congress of their long-awaited tax reform bill.  The bill has been ready for at least six months, but true to their goal of not getting a damn thing done during this calendar year, the GOP congressional leadership waited until the end of September to introduce it.
  • This late introduction date – for which there really is no justification at all – naturally produced grumbling among some members of the conservative Freedom Caucus about the “aggressive time frame” left in the year to get such a massive reform of the IRS tax code done.  So, the stage is already set for the December press conference of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell telling everyone that they just ran out of time this year, but don’t worry, they’ll promise to come back in 2018 and really, truly get the thing done.  Yeah, sure, just like Obamacare, right?
  • Through a contraction of the various tax rates and a doubling of the standard deduction, everyone gets a bit of a tax break in this plan, except for those making more than $400,000 per year, who get stuck with an actual tax surcharge.  Naturally, Democrats rushed to the microphones and Twitter and Facebook to squeal that the plan is…wait for it…wait for it…A TAX CUT FOR THE WEALTHY!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • Of course, in Democrat “logic”, such as it exists, this is true, since the Democrats consider anyone who makes more than about $100,000 per year to be “wealthy”.  Given that the goal of the plan is to get more money into the hands of those in the lower and middle class, people making between $100,000 and $400,00 do get a tax cut under the plan.  Thus, the whole “tax cut for the wealthy” rhetoric from the party of demagoguery.
  • The plan would also lower the tax rate for – gasp! – evil corporations in the hope of stimulating the economy.   Man, the Democrats haven’t even gotten started demonizing that aspect of the proposal.  Nevermind that the U.S. has by far the highest corporate tax rate of any developed country, costing our country millions of potential jobs that now simply go overseas, lowering tax rates for evil corporations presents Fauxcahontas and Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders with prime demagoguery opportunities, and that is not something they will meekly pass up.
  • So, it’s going to be a long fall and winter filled with hyper-partisan rancor.  There is nothing progressives hate more than a healthy, growing economy.  I’m not kidding.  If you think otherwise, you don’t understand progressives.
  • There can be no doubt the GOP proposal would indeed stimulate economic growth in a very big way.  The key stimulus-producing provision is one that would allow businesses of all kinds to deduct most capital costs during the tax year in which they are incurred.  Currently, such costs must be recovered by depreciating them over 5 to 30 years, depending on the asset that is being depreciated.
  • President Trump has often talked about wanting to pass his own economic stimulus package. Well, there is really no need for a separate stimulus bill if congress were to pass this one.  The ability to deduct capital costs would be a stimulus plan in and of itself, and unlike the Obama stimulus, which was basically wasted on expanding government employment and wasteful programs, it would stimulate real infrastructure expansion, and create millions of real, private sector jobs.
  • So of course the Democrats hate it.  They hate anything that would grow the private sector, especially at a time when the government sector is being systematically reduced by a Republican administration.
  • But the dirty little secret is that the establishment Republicans really don’t want to pass this bill, either, which is why they’ve waited so late to introduce it.  The positive side is that the President does want it, and he won’t be shy about publicly pounding on Democrats and Republicans who work to kill it.
  • Just as we have seen President Trump reveal the Democrats and their progressive voters to be perfectly fine with NFL players disrespecting the national anthem and American flag this week, in the coming weeks we will see him speak very frankly about the real reasons why the Democrats and recalcitrant Republican swamp creatures don’t want to pass a meaningful tax bill.
  • It will be a target-rich environment for verbal kill shots, and we all know how the President loves that.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.

Alabama Voters To GOP Establishment: Prepare To Die

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore easily won yesterday’s GOP primary in his home state, beating interim senator Luther Strange a 55-45 margin.  Strange, a former state attorney general, had been the Republican establishment’s occupant in the seat since Jeff Sessions was appointed by President Trump to become Attorney General, where he is busy indicting college basketball coaches and chasing pot smokers, while at the same time ignoring the criminal behavior of a wide variety of Obama Administration officials and former FBI directors.
  • President Trump had agreed to endorse Mr. Strange as a favor to Sessions and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who knew Strange would be far easier to control than Justice Moore.  The GOP establishment in Washington and the “real conservatives”, i.e., Never Trump morons at the National Review and Weekly Standard, had all gotten behind Big Luther as well, mainly because they knew he would be more loyal McConnell than to the President.  But President Trump clearly preferred Mr. Moore, and everyone, including Strange and McConnell, knew it.
  • Going into the primary, an increasingly desperate GOP establishment issued stern warnings, telling voters to vote for their preferred milquetoast candidate because, well, he would be so much more electable against Democrat Doug Jones in the special election that takes place on December 12.  Why do they make that specious claim?  Well, because, uh, well, ummmm…because, er, uh, because they like Luther better!!!!!!  Seriously, I have no idea, and neither do they.
  • But the establishment, undeterred by its utter inability to reason logically – which makes it look increasingly like a bunch of Democrats (mere coincidence?) – took it even further. They told voters that a win by Moore would make it more likely that a bunch of pro-Trump people would be nominated for senate offices in 2018, and that, for some reason they also don’t really explain, would somehow make it more difficult for the GOP to retain and even expand its majority in the Senate in the 2018 midterm elections.
  • Wait, what?  Did I miss something?  Haven’t we just been through two years during which Donald Trump first swept to the Republican presidential nomination, in the process defeating a field of 16 mostly milquetoast establishment opponents, and then slobber-knocked The Most Corrupt Woman in America in the general election? What part of that are GOP voters supposed to ignore?
  • McConnell and his do-nothing minions in the establishment claim to worry that the President’s current poll ratings, which sit in the low-to-mid 40s, mean that the Party needs to nominate a slate of candidates that are less loyal to Mr. Trump and more loyal to the DC Swamp.  Mind you, this reasoning comes from a Senator – Mr. McConnell – whose own approval rating in his home state of Kentucky is below 20%, mainly because of his refusal to do what is necessary to enact the Trump agenda.  Overall, the approval rating for Republicans in congress seldom gets into double digits in opinion polls, mainly for the very same reason.
  • So yeah, it makes perfect sense that GOP voters would want to nominate a bunch of establishment squishes who would follow Mitch McConnell around on a leash, expand the DC swamp they elected Trump to destroy, and help Mitch get nothing done for another six years.  Seriously, do these people ever look at themselves in a mirror, even for a moment?
  • One can only wonder what Mr. McConnell and the Bill Kristols and Stephen Hayes’s and Karl Roves of the world will tell us after Roy Moore wins December’s general election by about the same margin with which he just dispatched Big Luther?  What will the talking points be then?  I have no idea, but I do know that most GOP voters just won’t care.
  • Here’s what the real bottom line of all of this really is:  loyal Trump voters, AKA “the vast majority of the GOP voter base today”, don’t really care about whether or not the Republican Party has a majority in the Senate, if that majority is largely made up of RINOs like John McCain, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake and yes, Luther Strange.  They see the results of the first 8 months of this congress, and realize the results would have been little different on the big things they want to see done had the senate been in the control of the Democrats.
  • So when Mitch McConnell, the leader of that do-nothing Senate, tells them that Big Luther is so much more “electable” against a Democrat than Roy Moore, they honestly just don’t give a flyin’ rat’s ass.  They want to nominate the guy who they know is ready to go to DC and help Donald Trump clean out the swamp, not help the swamp shore itself up with more do-nothing dikes.
  • And that, my friends, is why Roy Moore is now the official nominee of the Republican Party, and why you will see a bunch more Roy Moores become nominees for senate and house seats in 2018.  GOP voters realize they have a lot more work to do in order to get all the skunks and snakes cleared out of the DC swamp, and they are perfectly willing and increasingly able to go do it.

Just another day in dying RINOs America.

That is all.

Dear NFL: Please Quit Acting Out So We Can Talk About Something Important

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Oh, my, where to begin?  I really wanted to talk about something other than the NFL’s increasingly tiresome “take a knee” follies, but they remain inescapable for one more day.

  • Let’s start with Cleveland basketball star Lebron James, who told reporters yesterday that the reason his current home state voted for Donald Trump in 2016 was that “I don’t think a lot of the voters was (sic) educated.”  For the record, Lebron James went straight from high school to the NBA and never looked back.
  • Longtime race-baiter Hillary Clinton is back to her race-baiting ways, accusing President Donald Trump (who else?) of being a racist for his comments against NFL players disrespecting the American flag.  “He doesn’t criticize Vladimir Putin, but he criticizes black athletes,” the disciple of racist senators J. William Fulbright and Robert Byrd commented at one stop on her book tour.
  • Most leading Democrats are wishing these days that Ms. Clinton would just shut up and go away, but she at least understands that the Democrat Party as it is currently constituted was built on shameless race-baiting and cannot survive going forward without this sort of constant effort to divide the country along racial lines.  The Democrats are already little more than a regional party whose base is overwhelmingly focused in America’s large inner cities, where the African American population tends to make up a much higher percentage of the overall total.  Ms. Clinton understands that the day the Democrats start getting less than 90% of the black vote is the day it basically disappears entirely.  Thus, her comments yesterday were actually directed, for once, at helping the party in her own demented way rather than her normal shameless self-aggrandizement at everyone else’s expense.  Go figure.
  • Speaking of the NFL, there was actually a game last night in between all the league’s and ESPN’s political activities, and the Dallas Cowboys – America’s Team – put a new twist on the whole “take a knee” deal.  Feeling a burning need to engage in some sort of “unity demonstration” (because after all, everybody else was doing it), the team, along with the coaches and owner Jerry Jones, lined up on the field prior to the national anthem, and, when they were certain the cameras were all focused on them, took a knee for about three seconds as the boos from the Arizona Cardinals’ crowd rained down upon them.  *sigh*
  • To their credit, the team, owner and coaches then backed their silly butts off to the sideline and actually all stood at attention while a field-size American flag was unfurled and the national anthem was sung in a quite inspired way by pop singer Jordin Sparks.  Good for them, and for her.
  • The one positive out of all of this is that, after about a 20 year hiatus, the leftwing networks who cover the game have started televising the national anthem again.  God bless America.
  • The President had his own Twitter take on this deal – because, of course he did – tweeting first that “The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger”.  Well…yep.
  • In his next 140 character comment, the President had basically the same reaction to it all that I did:  “But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!”
  • Sadly, given the disgusting way most other teams had allowed their players to disrespect the flag, the anthem, the veterans’ honor guards and the country without negative consequence, the way in which the Cowboys handled the whole thing in a unified way, with the entire organization participating, actually was “Big progress”, as President Trump said.
  • We can hope that, now that all these players and teams have had their 15 minutes of attention and various forms of “unity demonstrations”, they might now get back to just shutting up and playing football.  But that is probably too much to ask, which more than anything else shows exactly what is really at the base of all of this:  the players’ desperation for attention.
  • I have no use for Colin Kaepernick, but at least he was protesting against something specific and real when he was doing his one-man “look at me” act last season.  He made it clear that he was protesting ongoing police brutality issues in U.S. society.  But that has now been lost.  What exactly are all these players, coaches and owners demonstrating against now?  That they were insulted by President Trump’s comments last Friday?  Really?
  • Let’s be honest, if that’s what they’re doing out there, then the President’s remarks, which basically boiled down to the NFL commissioner and owners are allowing the inmates to run the asylum, obviously hit very, very close to home.  Otherwise, all this acting out wouldn’t be happening, now, would it?

Just another day in dying NFL America.

That is all.

Random Sunday Thoughts: Is Rand Paul Smart Enough To Become a Hero?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Senator Rand Paul has a real opportunity this week to turn himself into a real, true presidential contender in either 2020, should President Trump not run for re-election, or in 2024.  He can do that by becoming the deciding vote to pass the Graham/Cassidy Obamacare reform bill in the U.S. Senate.  Yes, he would need either Lisa Murkowski or Susan Collins to also act like real Republicans and support the bill, but Murkowski definitely seems to be get-able in that regard.
  • Think about it:  By casting that single vote, Rand Paul could become a hero to President Trump’s voter base – which according to recent polls makes up a strong majority of the GOP’s total voter base – a hero to everyone who hates the execrable jerk John McCain – which also makes up a majority of the GOP total voter base – and a hero to the millions of Americans who have seen their ability to access real healthcare insurance decimated by Obamacare.  Yes, it would go against the Senator’s precious libertarian principles, but at some point, if he truly wants to be president – as he seemed to sort of want to during the 2016 campaign – actually getting stuff done is going to have to supersede those principles.
  • This week could be a real, true Rand Paul moment.  Is he smart enough to realize it, and take advantage of it?  Sadly, the smart money is probably on ‘no.’
  • How stupid are NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and many NFL owners?  They are so damn stupid that, when President Trump went off on their ridiculous failure to discipline players who are killing their product’s TV ratings (down 20% in the last two seasons) that they actually responded by defending those players.  That, folks, take stupid to previously unknown heights.
  • The NFL seems to have lost sight of who makes up most of its audience.  The preponderance of the NFL’s audience is made up of blue-collar working class Americans, the overwhelming mass of whom think it is really important to honor this country’s flag by standing during the national anthem.  It is not a coincidence that the NFL has seen its TV ratings go into free-fall since Collin Kaepernick started his “look at me” act on the sidelines, and was able to continue to do so without consequence.
  • Some apologists for these player like to argue that the NFL’s ratings are down because their games are boring.  Hell, NFL games have been boring people stiff for a quarter of a century now, but the ratings didn’t start collapsing until the National Anthem protests started.  If the NFL brass – except for Jerry Jones, who has made it clear to his Dallas Cowboys that they will stand for the Anthem or be benched – wants to pretend its problem has nothing to do with the protests, then no one will be able to halt the killing of the League’s Golden Goose.
  • All that having been said, I have no doubt at all that all these NFL social justice warriors who today kneel on the sidelines while making millions of dollars a year will be far happier in the future, when their non-football skill sets allow them to earn $12 per hour putting boxes onto trucks at the loading docks behind the local Wal Mart.  So you go, guys!  Power to the people!!!!!!
  • I just can’t wait to see how many NBA players start their own kneeling acts during the playing of the National Anthems before their games.  That’s going to be awesome, and make the NFL’s SJWs look like child’s play by comparison.  Given that I haven’t watched a full NBA game since about 1988, the death of that sport will make no difference in my life anyway.
  • And the virus has even spread into major league baseball, as Bruce Maxwell, a nitwit mediocrity for the also-ran Oakland A’s decided he needed some attention on Saturday, too.  This one kind of bothers me, since I’ve just begun to watch MLB games again this season, but as long as it doesn’t spread to the Texas Rangers or Los Angeles Dodgers, I’ll be cool.
  • Hey, I’m old enough to remember when all SJWs went absolutely berserk and demanded punishing a player named Tim Tebow, who kneeled in prayer to God before NFL games.  I also remember how the same sports and establishment fake news media that is today supporting the anti-flag kneelers ridiculed Tebow for expressing his beliefs in that way.  Funny how that works.

Just another day in Social Justice Warrior America.

That is all.

Jimmy Kimmel: The Left’s Perfect Spokesman

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Jimmy Kimmel is the perfect spokesman for the American Left.  He personifies everything the Left has become over the last 25 years, since the advent of Clintonian/Alinsky dominance of the Democrat Party:  Entitled, snarky, mean, haughty, and above all else, studiously ignorant.
  • The tactics he deploys from his late night pulpit are the tactics Clintonian Democrats have deployed from their political pulpits for a quarter of a century.  You begin with a set of talking points prepared by someone else, but which you memorize and recite as if they were gospel handed down from God himself.  In Kimmel’s case, the talking points were handed down by Chuck Schumer, more a minion of Satan than a god, but hey, the principle is the same.
  • Kimmel’s talking points are pretty simple:  Obama, good.  Obamacare, good.  Republicans, bad.  Anything Republicans want to to with Obamacare, bad.  That’s the sum total of what Kimmel “knows” about the debate over what to do about the collapsing Obamacare system, which has quintupled medical premiums in many areas and thrown millions of Americans off of healthcare insurance entirely.  Kimmel sees none of this, because none of this is in the talking points he’s been fed by Schumer.  Kimmel is abjectly ignorant, and he clings to his ignorance like Linus clings to his security blanket.
  • Every set of leftist talking points comes with the  standard set of leftist tactics, and those tactics always – ALWAYS – follow the same exact progression:  First you start with a sob story, and to his credit, Kimmel and his beautiful little son have a great, very real sob story to relate.  Second comes the name calling, and boy is Kimmel, a veteran comic, good at the name calling.  Next comes the threats, and Kimmel is as good with the threats as he is at the name calling.  Finally, when the left still hasn’t gotten everything it wants, comes the violence, as we have seen the past few years with Antifa and Black Lives Matter, the armed and violent wing of the Democrat Party.  Kimmel hasn’t gotten around to the violence part yet, but we can be sure he will next time he runs into Brian Kilmeade.
  • As mentioned above, the sob story is real:  Kimmel does have a precious little boy who has a heart condition which has already required one surgery and will, according to Kimmel, require two more.  This is awful, and everyone should be praying for the child’s full recovery.  Luckily for the child, he is the son of a fabulously wealthy member of the top 1% of the 1%, so he will receive the finest healthcare available in America, which is also the finest available in the world.  Kimmel wants his viewers to believe that the only reason his son will receive such fine healthcare is thanks to the demi-god Obama and Obamacare, which of course is an outright lie.  But lying is what leftwingers like Kimmel do.
  • Anyone who argues with Kimmel on this subject and points out his lies immediately becomes the target of nationally-televised name-calling.  If you disagree with Kimmel, suddenly you are evil, a sexist, a racist, and any other -ist he can attach to what his script-writers consider these days to be a “joke”.   One Louisiana Congressman even became an “inbred” in Kimmel’s Thursday rampage, er, ‘monologue’.  It’s all very predictable, yet very sad coming as it does from a comic who at one time was actually a very funny guy who understood what his show was supposed to be about.
  • Then come the threats.  For leftist politicians, the threats come in the form of taxes, penalties or imprisonment on whatever behaviors they don’t approve of but can’t solve through name-calling.  For Jimmy Kimmel, the threats come in the old-fashioned form of threatening to beat someone up when they call out his rank hypocrisy and lying on their own television program.  Thus, his threat to physically assault Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade next time he runs into him.
  • The final step for any good leftist is, of course, outright violence whenever they can’t get their way through the peaceful, constitutional process.  Kimmel hasn’t gotten there yet – perhaps only because he hasn’t run into Kilmeade – but can anyone doubt that, should the Republicans cobble together 50 votes in the senate to pass the Graham/Cassidy bill, he will use his late night pulpit to urge his viewers to take that route?  Given his down-the-line mindlessly leftist behavior to this point, it seems almost inevitable.
  • Unlike the detestable Stephen Colbert, who actually understands a lot about politics and just chooses consciously to act the idiot in order to attract an audience, Kimmel is not someone to be condemned, but pitied.  Through a highly emotional life experience, he has allowed himself to fall out of the only role he really knows anything about, and be co-opted by evil leftwingers like Chuck Schumer to act as their stooge.  It’s like the modern-day Wizard of Oz – no need to worry about the image you see projected on your screen, it’s the man behind the curtain who is the real villain.

Just another day in evil leftists America.

That is all.

The Democrat Party’s Real Problems For 2018 Are Its Own Ugly, Sordid Faces

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • If you want proof that Republicans and Democrats live in two completely different sets of reality, all you need to do is go read the piece linked here summarizing a new Gallup survey regarding Americans’ trust in the fake news media.  According to Gallup – whose results admittedly must always be called into question since it refuses to publicly release the sampling methods behind its polling – fully 72% of Democrats have “a great deal/fair amount of trust and confidence” in the accuracy of the country’s fake news media, while just 14% of Republicans and 37% of Independents admit to holding the same view.
  • Let that set in for a moment.  As an example, when President Trump visited Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, he was filmed by all media present interacting with literally hundreds of ordinary people, hugging them, talking to them, coloring pages with their children, helping them load their trucks with supplies, working behind the lunch counter at the shelter, etc.  It was an extraordinary example of presidential leadership and empathy with the common man.  Yet that evening, when CNN and MSNBC both falsely reported that the President had met no one, interacted with no one, and ignored the suffering of those people, Gallup tells us that 72% of the nation’s Democrats believed those reports, despite the video evidence before their own lyin’ eyes.
  • That’s not just a disconnect, that is conscious, intentional exercise in mass self-delusion.  Given that self-described “Democrats” make up about 35% of adults, Gallup’s results indicate that roughly one out of every four adults you come across lives in a complete and total fake media-created fantasy world.  Truly frightening.
  • This brings me to a long piece published in Time on Wednesday, which attempts to analyze how the Democrat Party’s ‘leaders’, such as they are, are trying desperately to get the Party’s act together in preparation for the 2018 mid-term elections and the 2020 presidential contest.  It’s a decent, if superficial, analysis, focused mainly on the Party’s math problem in terms of how few levers of power it actually controls, its pathetic fundraising efforts, and the conflicts among the Party’s current ‘leaders’ – again, such as they are – over whether to continue trying to attract the independent voters who will make or break their efforts to win races, or just chuck it all and take the Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren turn to the hard left.
  • In other words, the piece is all the standard ‘insider’ stuff written by a standard DC ‘insider’ fake reporter.  It’s all the sort of stuff that actually mattered in the days before the 2016 campaign and President Donald Trump, but now really just doesn’t get to the heart of the matter and which betrays a complete lack of real understanding of what is going on in the 95% of the country that lies outside of the nation’s major media centers.
  • Here’s the reality for the Democrat Party:  The Party has to completely change the faces that represent it in order to have any chance at all to regain real levers of power through the electoral process.  And that is a process of change that will take years, not weeks or months, to achieve.
  • The faces of the Democrat Party today are a) Corruption (Hillary Clinton), b) Commies (Bernie Sanders), c) fraud (Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren), d) open borders radicalism (DNC leaders), e) dishonesty and incompetence (Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer) and f) thuggery (Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other Soros-supported civil unrest groups).  If they’re smart (always an open question, I admit), Republican candidates in 2018 and 2020 won’t be spending their time and money running against their nominal Democrat opponents, they will be spending most of their time and money running against all these ugly, grossly unpopular faces of the Democrat Party as a whole.
  • Democrat candidates for office can talk all they want to about all the “free stuff” they plan to hand out to anyone who votes for them, but when the face of your Party is San Fran Nan, or black-masked thugs who spend their time violently assaulting political opponents and tossing bags filled with urine at policemen, those promises of “free stuff” are going to largely fall on deaf ears.  Time talks about Democrat efforts to turn 24 currently-GOP congressional seats to their advantage in order to regain a majority in the House of Representatives.  Time doesn’t really talk about how inevitably leftwing Democrat candidates are going to convince moderate and conservative voters in these “flyover country” districts to vote for them when the GOP incumbents are running ad after ad featuring the Commie, the Most Corrupt Woman in America, or video of town squares being burned by the armed “Resistance” wing of the Democrat Party.
  • As we’ve seen in this year’s special elections, the GOP was able to retain all five congressional seats in play, even when its candidates were weak or damaged, mainly by simply running ads featuring the stumbling, bumbling, doddering Nancy Pelosi.  They haven’t even gotten around to running ads airing all the glowing, supportive statements about Antifa and Black Lives Matter coming from the mouths of Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, Clinton, Sanders and Warren, complete with video of Berkeley or St. Louis burning in the background.
  • This is the Democrats’ real problem for 2018 and 2020, and the foreseeable future beyond.  We can count on all the “experts” in DC and New York to completely miss it, but it’s real, and there is no apparent solution to it.  Regardless of how poorly the Republicans perform in their congressional efforts, their saving grace is likely to be the fact that they get to run for re-election against the ugly, sordid faces of the Democrat Party.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.

President Trump’s Rocket Man Kill Shot Is Great Diplomacy

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Pyong Yang ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids… – The fake journalists in the fake news media will never give him credit for it, but President Donald Trump has successfully issued one of his famous linguistic kill shots at the Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea.  The President started using “Rocket Man” as is nickname for the NORK dictator last week, and according to UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, by Monday everyone at the UN General Assembly was using the demeaning moniker as well.
  • “It worked,” she said, when asked about it by a clearly verklempt George Stephanopolous on Good Morning America, “I was talking to a president of an African country yesterday, and he actually cited ‘Rocket Man’ back to me… This is a way of getting people to talk about him, but every other international community is now referring to him as ‘Rocket Man.'”
  • The linguistic kill shot is a Donald Trump specialty, one we saw him use time and time again to dispatch opponents during his presidential run.  Who can forget his killing Jeb! Bush and his $200 million war chest in one of the early primary debates by calling him “low energy”?  Carly Fiorina became a “robot,” Ben Carson was “too nice,” Marco Rubio was “sweaty” and “Little Marco,” Ted Cruz was “Lyin’ Ted.”  Every time a major challenger arose, the verbal kill shot having something to do with their physical characteristics or character came, the voters internalized it and the challenger fell to the wayside.
  • In the general election, Hillary Clinton first became “Crooked Hillary,” something most Americans already knew about her but had never heard said by one of her opponents, and then Trump began questioning her “stamina”.  That latter kill shot came just before Ms. Clinton was filmed collapsing while trying to get into her van following a 9/11 ceremony in New York City, and voters understood then what Trump meant.
  • The Kill Shot was crucial in the campaign, and it is also important at the UN.  It is much easier for despots who dominate third world countries to continue to lend support to a nutjob like Kim Jong Un when everyone keeps referring to him in formal diplomatic terms under the pretense that he is a legitimate “leader”.  But it becomes much harder when everyone walking the halls at the UN headquarters is laughingly talking about and ridiculing the Rocket Man.
  • Again, no one on the political left or in the fake news media will ever give him credit for it, but the linguistic kill shot is a big part of the President’s genius, and a big factor why he is where he is today.  We can anticipate much more usage of this tool in next year’s midterm elections, and if the GOP leaders in congress don’t get something big done on Obamacare or taxes, some of those kill shots will be directed at them, and deservedly so.
  • If you watch “The View”, you are living a sad and depressing life, part 7,352 – Naturally, the ‘ladies’ on “The View” had the most idiotic take possible on the “Rocket Man” kill shot, with both Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar claiming the President was making a phallic reference in using it.  There are so many mean things I could say about this coming from these particular ladies, but I am going to exercise a little self-restraint for once.
  • Watch out!  George is gonna get angry! – If you want a bunch of good laughs this morning, go take a look at the clips of MSNBC fake host Lawrence O’Donnell going absolutely berserk at his staff during commercial breaks while taping the August 29 episode of his fake talk show.  We’ve always known that O’Donnell was a raving lunatic, and these outtakes prove it beyond all doubt.  Warning:  lots and lots of profanity involved.
  • The Apocalypse is always just around the corner… – The Sun reports that “A mass extinction which wipes out humanity will be underway by the year 2100, scientists have claimed.”  Because, you know, science or something.

Just another day in linguistic kill shot America.

That is all.
