John McCain Sends A Final “F You” To The American People

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Sen. From the News Media John McCain sent what may have been a final “f you” to the American people in the wee hours of the morning, joining quasi-Democrat Susan Collins and the flip-flopping Lisa Murkowski as the 3 GOP votes needed to kill the final effort to get an Obamacare reform bill passed out of the senate.  A few minutes prior to casting his vote, Sen. McCain was seen yukking it up with Chuck Schumer on the Senate floor.  No doubt they were sharing memories of all the previous times they had joined hands in efforts to screw the American people.  Good times…good times…
  • Anthony Scaramucci is either in waaaaaayyyyyyy over his head, or he is exactly the guy President Trump needed to bring in as a senior advisor to help clean out the swamp creatures who still infest the West Wing of the White House.  I can’t really decide which option to believe about this guy, and yesterday’s hysterics did not inspire a lot of confidence.  Not because of all the profanity – such discourse is the norm in DC – what disturbs me is his apparent naivete’ when dealing with leftwing fake journalists like Ryan Lizza at the New Yorker.  After Lizza published his telephone tirade against Reince Preibus and Steve Bannon, Scaramucci claimed he thought their conversation was “off the record.”  This displays a belief that he or any other person loyal to the President can actually trust one of these fake journalists to keep their word with them.  So, in saying that he thought the conversation with Lizza was off the record, Scaramucci is either lying or reveals himself to be a babe in the woods when it comes to dealing with the snakes in the fake news media.  Scaramucci can have his choice of those options, but neither one is good.  Let’s hope he uses yesterday as a real learning experience.
  • In his rant with Lizza, Scaramucci did promise that he was going to “fire 3-4 people” today.  Given that dozens of Obama holdovers still work in the White House operation, that would represent a good start.  Let’s hope it’s true.
  • Fox News got a call from one White House worker who said ” “This is getting out of hand. I am honestly getting concerned for my safety in the office tomorrow.”  Hopefully, this squeamish individual will one of the 3-4 staffers on the Scaramucci hit list today.  If a few cusswords terrify you, you have no business advising this particular POTUS.
  • As expected, the fake news media is doing its dead level best to cover up for Debbie Wasserman Schulz in the growing scandal related to her chief IT advisor’s arrest at Dulles Airport Tuesday.  Imran Awan is accused of bank fraud after he was discovered taking out fraudulent loans and sending the funds to associates in Pakistan.  Awan and several family members had worked for several dozen other congressional Democrats prior to the announcement weeks ago that the Capitol Police had opened an investigation into his and his family’s activities.  Every Democrat except for Cong. Schulz had fired Awan shortly after that announcement, but Schulz mysteriously kept him on her payroll until the day after his arrest, and has taken aggressive action to impede the investigation.
  • If that seems like a real news story to you, well, it doesn’t seem that way to ABC and NBC, who have not aired a single second of reporting on the scandal.  CBS devoted a full 37 seconds to it on Wednesday.  Meanwhile, the Washington Post managed to publish a 420-word report on the matter without mentioning Cong. Schulz or the word “Democrats” a single time.  No major media outlet other than Fox News has mentioned the fact that Mr. Awan is represented by an attorney who is a long-time Clinton toady.  Because that’s what fake journalists do.
  • Meanwhile, the House Judiciary Committee announced that it is finally, at long last, allocating resources to investigate the leaking activities of James Comey and the obstruction activities by Loretta Lynch in the Hillary Clinton email investigation last year.  Naturally, the vote to proceed was strictly along party lines, with no Democrats in support.

Just another day DC Swamp insanity America.

That is all.

Better Jobs, Better Wa…Wait, What Did Trump Just Tweet?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • On Monday, the Democrats rolled out their new Papa Johns-plagiarized slogan:   “A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future.”  The slogan was so silly, so hokey, so obviously not having to do with anything today’s Democrat Party is all about that even the Democrat operatives at MSNBC mocked it mercilessly (though CNN dutifully played along).  The Party’s strategy, of course, was to yet again attempt to fool the American people that it had a focus on jobs and helping the average American have a better life.  The truth, of course, is that the Party and its agenda were long ago co-opted by Social Justice Warriors and Enviro-Nazis, which is the fundamental reason why the Republican Party holds every lever of power in the nation’s capital today.
  • But Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and the lunatics who are in charge of the DNC know they can’t actually change their focus to things that actually make a difference in Americans’ daily lives, so instead they paid some consultant millions of dollars to paraphrase a slogan off a Papa John’s pizza box.  Now, they thought, we can focus on our nifty new slogan, and pretend we care about the middle class!  It’ll be awesome!  High fives were flying at DNC Headquarters.  But then, on Wednesday, the President started tweeting….
  • …and part of his daily tweet storm that day was a two-tweet announcement that the U.S. military would no longer accept trans-gender applicants and force the U.S. middle class taxpayers to foot the bill for their trans-gender surgeries while they served.  In response, the Democrats and their agents who make up 98% of the nation’s news media went stark raving mad.  The Party’s focus was right back in the hands of the SJWs, the efforts to change the subject instantly forgotten.
  • Slogan?  What slogan?
  • Tired of winning yet? – The Taiwanese company FoxConn announced it is investing more than $10 billion in a new manufacturing plant in Wisconsin, a move that will create 13,000 American jobs.  President Trump wisely held a joint announcement in the White House with the company’s CEO.  Immediately after, heads could be heard exploding all over CNN headquarters in Atlanta.
  • Tired of winning yet, Part II? – On Wednesday, the Dow, the NASDAQ and the S&P 500 indices all reached all-time highs.  The fake news media – except for Fox News – were all too busy screaming about presidential tweets to notice.
  • The NYPost reports that Dancing With The Stars is currently in negotiations with…wait for it….wait for it…SEAN SPICER!  That.  Is.  Awesome.  Go for it, big guy.
  • Kid Rock, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan against the execrable Debbie Stabenow, announced on his website that he will be registering people to vote…at his performances!  Those loud noises you heard yesterday were heads exploding at DNC Headquarters.  Yeah, they were exploding over the President’s tweets, but they would have exploded over this, too, had they had the chance.
  • After 9 Republican senators voted against the initial Obamacare repeal and replace bill on Tuesday evening, 7 GOP senators compounded the Party’s mendacity by joining all Democrats in voting down a repeal-only bill on Wednesday.  Five of those seven had voted for the exact same bill in the past when they knew Barack Obama would veto it:  Lisa Murkowski, John McCain, Rob Portman, Shelly Capito, and Lamar Alexander.  Dean Heller of Nevada wasn’t around in the Obama years, so he gets a pass on the hypocrisy, and, as I mentioned yesterday, Susan Collins has never in the past voted in favor of Obamacare repeal, consistently siding with her soulmates in the Democrat Party.  Hopefully, all seven will receive strong primary challengers.  They deserve them.

Just another day in Democrat heads exploding and fake Republican mendacity America.

That is all.

What A Difference A Presidential Tweetstorm Makes

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Boy, what a difference a few tweets makes, huh?  After President Trump had gone after his thus far lackluster performance in office, Attorney General Jeff Sessions suddenly woke up, displaying a sudden new focus on things that actually matter.  Just a few hours after the President’s latest tweet storm, federal agents arrested the chief IT specialist for ex-DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schulz, Imran Awan, as he was attempting to flee the country through Dulles International Airport.  The FBI also announced it has seized a set of “smashed hard drives” that Awan had left behind at his home.  Mr. Anwan had also worked for several other Democrat congressional members in addition to Rep. Schulz.  Nice to see the Justice Department focusing on bringing really bad people to justice rather than ensuring that rural sheriffs get to keep and drive the Maserati’s and speedboats they confiscate from arrested drug dealers.
  • Later in the day, a “source” at the Justice Department told The Washington Post that the Attorney General plans to make a public progress report in the next few days about several ongoing investigations into criminal leaks containing classified information that have been regularly emanating from various government intelligence agencies since President Trump assumed office.  If you think this “source” didn’t give that information to the Post at the request of the AG, you might be naive.
  • And finally, late in the afternoon, the AG announced a tough new policy that would deny Justice Department grant funds to cities that refuse to cooperate with immigration officials tasked with enforcing the country’s immigration laws.  Such grants would now only go “to cities and states that comply with federal law, allow federal immigration access to detention facilities, and provide 48 hours notice before they release an illegal alien wanted by federal authorities.”
  • Who knows?  Maybe the AG’s sudden new focus on stuff that actually matters instead of who might be smoking pot in downtown Denver will actually save his job.  It’s a damn shame it took a public berating from the POTUS to refocus his attention.
  • So you’re sayin’ there’s still a chance! – Great news, everybody!  The so-called “Cal-Exit” movement that hopes to take California out of the USA is still alive!  The Sacramento Bee reports that the California secession movement was given the go-ahead by the state’s Attorney General to begin collecting the required 585,000 signatures to get the initiative placed on the 2018 ballot.  Sadly, the signatures must come from residents of California;  otherwise, I would already be on a plane out to the Golden State to add my name to the list.  But I and millions of other non-Californians will always be behind this noble effort in spirit.
  • After Vice President Pence had cast the deciding vote allowing the debate to begin on the Obamacare Repeal and Replace effort in the U.S. Senate, Senate Republicans who had been promising to repeal Obamacare for seven long years had the chance later in the evening to vote in favor of an amendment that would do exactly that.  Nine Republicans, including eight who had voted to repeal Obamacare in the past, refused to do so last night, now that they have a president who would actually sign such a bill.   Those eight Republicans are Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Dean Heller of Nevada, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Mike Lee of Utah.  Susan Collins also voted against the amendment, but Sen. Collins has always been a reliable Democrat vote on healthcare issues, and never voted to repeal Obamacare while Obama was President.  The other eight have no excuse.
  • Speaking of Senator Collins. her aides need to exercise a little more control over her gabby mouth when she’s on a hot mic.  Yesterday it was revealed in various news reports that she said all sorts of goofy and nasty things while in that situation on Monday, including referring to Texas Congressman Blake Farenthold as being “fat” and “so unattractive it’s unbelievable.”  After her uncharitable remarks about Congressman Farenthold’s appearance were made public, the fake Republican Senator from Maine issued a terse apology.
  • Speaking of fake Republicans, Sen. From The News Media John McCain made his way back onto the Senate floor despite having had surgery for a brain tumor last week.  There he made a rousing speech in which he blamed the lack of progress in the U.S. Senate on…wait for it…wait for it…talk radio.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  Who could?

Just another day in fake Republicans are everywhere America.

That is all.

The Recused AG’s Days Are Numbered, And So Are Mueller’s

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Attorney General Jeff Sessions is most likely going to be fired in the coming days, as President Trump has had enough of his reluctance to focus the Justice Department’s efforts towards the prosecution of crimes into the abuses of Obama-era officials, and due to his decision, shortly after taking the oath of office, to recuse himself from anything to do with the media/Democrat Russia collusion fantasy play.  AG Sessions is a good man, but his decision to focus on things like asset forfeiture for drug dealers and prosecuting violators of marijuana laws rather than the far more pressing issues facing the Trump Administration and, frankly, the American people have indeed reached the point of absurdity.
  • But it is Sessions’ recusal decision that is especially vexing and inexcusable.  Sessions viewed it as his legal duty, but The President obviously considers the decision to have been an effort by Sessions to insulate himself from controversy.  Though it may have technically been a proper move, no Democrat Attorney General in recent history would have even remotely considered doing such a thing, and there is no good reason why, if Sessions’ testimony before congressional committees is true, he should have done so either.  That recusal enabled Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein to appoint his buddy Bob Mueller to mount his limitless witch hunt as Special Counsel.  I like Jeff Sessions, but his priorities are not the priorities of the boss, who referred to him in a tweet yesterday as “beleaguered.”  This morning, he added this:  “Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!”  That’s frankly an inexcusable way for the President to treat a man who has been one of his loyal supporters from the start, but it’s a pretty strong hint of what’s coming, Jeff.  A smart man would take that hint and resign with dignity.
  • Of course, replacing Sessions with a new AG who would not recuse himself from the Administration’s most pressing matter would set the stage for the next firing:  That of Jim Comey’s best buddy, Special Counsel Bob Mueller.  Shortly after his appointment, I wrote that the President would eventually fire Mueller, and still believe that will be the case.  Mueller is hopelessly conflicted, should not have ever been allowed to investigate anything having to do with Comey – who, by the way, is still the only person in the entire collusion fantasy play who we know beyond any doubt committed actual crimes – and has gone about hiring a staff filled with Hillary Clinton donors, removing any question as to the witch hunt nature of his investigation.  So that firing will eventually come, but the President needs an AG willing to overrule Rosenstein in order to achieve it.
  • If you’re sitting there thinking, dang, won’t that create a media firestorm?  Well, yeah, it will.  So it will be just like most every other day of this Administration thus far, and every new day to come as long as Trump is in office.  The President is facing a slow-motion coup d’etat, folks.  He is facing a highly organized effort by the fake news media and DC political establishment to force his removal from office.  This is happening because his very election to office threatens the traditional power centers that the ruling class/media complex has enjoyed for decades. So every day he is in office is going to be a day during which there will be a media firestorm.
  • A report commissioned by Amazon tells us that it is likely that we will, within the next 10 years, have technology available to us that will allow us to have actual conversations with our pet dogs.  I’m betting the first conversation goes something like this:

“Oh, Bowsie Wowsie, I wuv you so vewy vewy much.”
“Lady, why are you trying to talk to a dog?  You do realize I’m a dog and not a person, right?  I mean, if I was a person, would I eat my own vomit?  If I was a person, would you shave my full body, leaving only these white tufts of hair on my legs and neck?  You have already stolen every other bit of dignity from me, and now you want to force me to let you know what I’m really thinking, too?  Grrrrrrrrrrrrr….”

  • In other news, the President spoke to the Boy Scouts yesterday and received a rousing, extremely enthusiastic reception.  Can’t wait to see the NYTimes story quoting an anonymous Boy Scout who will claim that Trump held a private meeting with one Scout leader whose grandfather immigrated to the U.S. from Russia.

Just another day in slow-motion coup d’etat America.

That is all.

The SJWs Had A Really Bad Weekend

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Hey, remember when campus Social Justice Warriors, the Texas news media and the management at UT-Austin claimed that the implementation of Texas’s new “Campus Carry” law would be a disaster and lead to all sorts of death, violence, and just general mayhem?  Yeah, predictably, that didn’t happen.  UT reported yesterday that, in the year since the law went into effect, its’ campus police have had to investigate just 4 gun-related incidents on campus (Oklahoma’s football team alone averages more than that per semester), and just 1 of those incidents could even theoretically be somehow tied to the new law.  That single incident came when a grad student, posing for a photo for the campus newspaper The Daily Texan, lifted his shirt to reveal the pistol he was legally carrying.  Because the gun was no longer “concealed” when he briefly lifted his shirt, some campus snowflake called the campus cops and fled to his safe space.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • Social Justice Warriors have also tossed a fit in recent days due to the fact that the movie “Dunkirk” – which apparently does a great job of portraying the famous WWII Battle of Dunkirk – doesn’t have enough women and people of color in its cast.  Another legacy of our nation’s refusal to teach recent generations anything about history – someone needs to inform these simpletons that almost everyone who fought and died at Dunkirk was – gasp! – a white male.  The same is true of most – but not all – of the famous battles of WWII fought by British and U.S. forces.  Can someone please put these SJW nitwits in a remedial history program?
  • After 9 illegal immigrants tragically died from heat exposure in the back of a large truck in San Antonio over the weekend, liberals and their fake news media agents speculated that this just had to have happened because of President Trump’s new policy of actually enforcing immigration laws.  The trouble with this argument is that, during the George W. Bush era of open borders in 2003, 19 illegal immigrants suffered the exact same fate in the back of another large truck in Victoria, Texas.  Folks, the ranches of deep south Texas are littered with the bodies of illegal immigrants who have died from overexposure to heat, starvation, lack of water and from being shot by the “coyotes” who smuggle them into the country.  Perhaps the real problem here is the thoughtless scofflaw policies followed by craven liberal leaders of the nation’s “sanctuary cities”, which serve as beacons of false hope for those who wish to enter the country illegally.  But hey, that thought process is logical, and thus could never be followed by anyone on the American left or in our fake national news media.
  • With Republicans like Richard Burr, who needs Democrats? – North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, who tragically chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the following to CNN when questioned about the refusal of Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice to testify:  “The unmasking thing was all created by Devin Nunes, and I’ll wait to go through our full evaluation to see if there was anything improper that happened.  But clearly there were individuals unmasked. Some of that became public which it’s not supposed to, and our business is to understand that, and explain it.”  Honestly, why even bother to try fix our government anymore, if this is the attitude of the supposed “good guys”?  A pox on all their houses.
  • With Democrats like this, who needs fascists? – NY City’s “man of the people,” i.e., commie/Democrat Mayor Bill DeBlasio reportedly had a subway train cleared of the homeless people who normally occupy it so that he could take a photo-op ride on it and declare that it and the train station it was rolling into “looks clean.”  Aren’t these Democrats just wonderful people?
  • Finally, some drug dealer in South Florida named David Blackmon became so distraught after his huge stash of cocaine was stolen from his car – along with $50 in cash – that he did the only logical thing anyone named David Blackmon would do:  He phoned 911, and was promptly tossed in the slammer.  I swear it’s not me, although he is a handsome devil.

Just another day in Unfortunate Namesakes America.

That is all.

Trump Bailed The GOP Congress Out In 2016 – He Can’t Do It Again In 2018

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Well, the news media covered for him as long as they could, but the news finally came out yesterday that Senator John McCain’s “surgery for a blood clot above his eye” that would only have him absent from the Senate for a week turns out to actually be an initial surgery for a very aggressive form of cancerous brain tumor called Glioblastoma.  While we will no doubt continue to see “optimistic” reports from doctors about the Senator’s condition, the truth is that this is a very, very grave situation.  I won’t pretend to be a fan of Senator McCain – I’ve often mocked him as The Senator From The News Media, and found his behavior while George W. Bush and Donald Trump were serving as Presidents to be inexcusable.  But many consider McCain to be a national hero, and few human beings have fought and survived against the brutality that he has suffered during his life.  I wouldn’t wish his current battle on my worst enemy.  Godspeed.
  • Let’s talk about congressional Republicans.  A year ago today, Republicans in congress were possibly the single most-detested part of the ruling class in Washington, DC.  They had, as a group, made more false and failed promises to voters over the previous seven years than almost any such collective group of politicians in American history.  They were headed at that point for a thrashing at the voting booths, with “experts” and polls indicating the GOP would lose its Senate majority and could possibly lose the House as well, if Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in a landslide in the presidential contest.
  • But a funny thing happened on the way to electoral disaster:  Donald Trump ran what was certainly an unconventional compaign, but one that was also a rousing success.  The media-promoted and projected Clinton landslide became a crushing defeat for her, and it also bailed the GOP congress out, allowing the Party to retain control of both houses of congress.
  • Suddenly, congressional Republicans were back.  Contrary to the prevailing “wisdom” among DC “experts”, it wasn’t the GOP that was falling apart and doomed to ultimate destruction, it was the Democrats.  And it wasn’t just in Washington:  the results of the 2016 elections gave the GOP control of 2/3rds of the nation’s governorships, 2/3rds of the nation’s legislative chambers, and the Party was about to cement a narrow, 5/4 conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court with the confirmation of Justice Gorsuch.
  • Even better, the election results presented congressional Republicans with a golden opportunity to redeem themselves, to repair their stained reputations by finally, at long last, keeping their collective word to repeal and replace Obamacare.  They had an opportunity to cement their majorities and build on them in the upcoming 2018 mid-terms if they could also pass a strong tax reform bill, and demonstrate to the American voters that the GOP could indeed be an effective governing party.
  • And that, of course, is where it has all fallen apart.  Since January, under the utterly ineffective leadership of Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the congressional GOP has done nothing to repair its image, little to keep its promises, nothing to prove to the American people that it deserves to be the majority party in the national legislative body.
  • Worse, the GOP congress has proven that its repeated votes to repeal Obamacare while Barack Obama presented a certain veto were nothing more than cynical political theater, and meant nothing at all.  It is now obvious that liberal senators like Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins have no desire to do anything about the Obamacare disaster at all, and that Mitch McConnell has no ability or real desire to exert control over his senate caucus on this issue.
  • If you want proof of that latter contention, realize that McConnell, if he really wanted to get to a majority vote on Obamacare, could be threatening Murkowski with the loss of her chairmanship of the Senate Energy Committee or Collins with the loss of her coveted chairmanship of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.  Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have no qualms about resorting to such measures to ensure their troops march in lockstep when they need votes.  By refusing to do so, McConnell proves that he is simply not serious about the Obamacare issue.
  • To this point, the GOP congress has looked like an old Keystone Cops movie, with members running in all directions, showing no discipline, having no leadership, resolving no issues of import.  If this continues, then Republicans will go into the 2018 midterms once again sporting the status as the most hated subset of the DC ruling class.
  • And this time, they won’t have Donald Trump to bail them out.
  • Having said all of that, I still believe that the Senate Rs will somehow get to 50 votes on a flat repeal of Obamacare with a 2-year window before it recesses in mid-August.  I believe this because they have almost all voted to do this in the past, when a veto was ensured, and it is in their political best interest to repeat that vote now that a repeal would be signed.  If they can’t even do that, then those members who refuse to repeat that repeal vote had better start looking for something to do in their post-senate careers.

Just another day in disastrous Republican congress America.

That is all.

Liberal Heads Explode Over Dinner Chat. Sad!

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • So, the latest fake journalist joint head explosion was caused by the revelation that, during one of the dinners at last week’s G20 meeting, President Trump left his seat and sat down next to Vladimir Putin for a discussion.  The media, keeping with their agreed-to narrative, is uniformly describing this as a “private” discussion “with no other Americans present”, since the President did not have his own interpreter with him, relying instead on Putin’s interpreter to handle both sides of the discussion.  Characterizing the dinner chat in this way is the height of absurdity given that it took place in a room with at least 200 people present, at a dinner table where half a dozen others were constantly within earshot, and dozens of others passed closely by while the national leaders were talking.  CNN even found some ex-Obama swamp creature to call it a “breach of national security protocol.”  Good lord.
  • President Trump responded to this latest news fakery on Twitter:  “Fake News story of secret dinner with Putin is “sick.” All G 20 leaders, and spouses, were invited by the Chancellor of Germany. Press knew!”  And “The Fake News is becoming more and more dishonest! Even a dinner arranged for top 20 leaders in Germany is made to look sinister!”   Yyyyyyyyep.
  • Hey, remember when all the #NeverTrump goofballs told us that it would be Donald Trump who betrayed the country on the promise to repeal and replace ObamaCare?  Yeah…they were wrong about that, too.
  • Well, looks like Hillary Clinton may have finally, at long last, overstayed her welcome with pretty much every American who doesn’t call themselves Democrats.  A new Bloomberg poll shows that her favorability rating is lower than Donald Trump’s, mired at 39% to Trump’s 41%.  That 39% level has historically been pretty much the base level for either Clinton over the last 25 years.  It appears that basically all Democrats would support either of them even if they were discovered standing over some murdered DNC staffer’s body, gun in hand.  For the rest of us, it appears that Ms. Clinton’s endless blame-shifting efforts for her defeat last year have finally become too much to bear.  That sure took a long time.
  • It is not news that climate alarmists keep having to move their “end of the world” goal posts in order to keep scamming the government for grant money to fund their “science,” but one of the most prominent scammers among them has now taken this exercise to an absurd extreme.  Well-known alarmist James Hansen – who for years worked the scam from inside the government rather than outside of it – famously told a congressional committee in 1988 that New York City would be under water “within 30 years.”  In 1998, he announced that we would see a global temperature rise of 5 degrees Centigrade by 2018.  Given that neither New York City sea levels or global temperatures have risen by any measurable degree at all since 1998, Mr. Hansen has now decided that NYC is safe for…wait for it…wait for it….150 more years!  And that global temperature that hasn’t risen at all for the last 20 years?  Uh, well, we’ll probably be ok, but only through the end of this century – THEN it’s going to get really, really hot.  Pushing the goal posts out that far may seem absurd to you and me, but it does have the benefit of ensuring that Mr. Hansen will be long perished from this earth before his latest projections of climate Armageddon are proved false as well.

Just another day in tiresome frauds America.

That is all.

A Border Miracle Based Strictly on Psychology

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Tired of winning yet?  National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told C-SPAN Monday that the rapid downturn in illegal border crossings is “nothing short of miraculous.”   He elaborated that total recorded border crossings in 2017 are just 53% of what they were in 2016, and that percentage continues to drop each week.  As we have noted before, this has been achieved without building single foot of wall, without changes to existing statutes, without any new huge budget allocations to the Border Patrol, without the introduction of any new technology.  The one and only reason for this fall is the simple fact that we have a President of the United States who is focused on enforcing the laws already on the books.  Isn’t it amazing how simple psychology changes human behavior.
  • Meanwhile, in the aspiring third world country of California, 8 Senate Republicans broke with party leadership and voted in favor of extending that state’s job-and-business-destroying “Cap and Trade” program through the year 2030.  After the vote was taken, Assembly Republican leader Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) told reporters that “California Republicans are different than national Republicans.”  Yes, they appear to be Democrats.
  • Fresh off of causing progressives’ heads to explode with its fantastic “clenched fist of truth” ad starring Dana Loesch, the National Rifle Association embarked on another snowflake-triggering exercise, this time targeting the fake journalists at the Washington Post.  In the ad, a while male (trigger) spokesman looks directly into the camera (micro-aggression) and tells the WaPo (unfair targeting) that ““Your paper’s new slogan may read Democracy Dies (trigger) in Darkness (micro-aggression). It should say Journalism Dies at the Washington Post.”  The University of Missouri is gonna need more safe spaces.
  • Speaking of entitled snowflakes, the bicycle riders of Portland, Oregon are up in arms after the leftist Democrat-dominated legislature passed a budget package that includes a $15 excise tax on the purchase of high-dollar bikes.  This move comes a year after the legislature raised the state’s gasoline tax by 10 cents/gallon, a move that prompted complaints from car owners tired of having to dodge bike-riding scofflaws in their daily commutes that bicycle-riders weren’t paying their fair share for road maintenance.  Of course, snowflakes protested the move.  BikePortland publisher Jonathan Maus called it “an unprecedented step in the wrong direction.  We are taxing the healthiest, most inexpensive, most environmentally friendly, most efficient and most economically sustainable form of transportation ever devised by the human species.”  Yes, and you are also not exempt from paying taxes.  If you can afford a $2,000 bicycle, you can also afford a $15 tax, especially given that Oregon has no sales tax.  Toughen up.
  • In other news, Senate Republicans appear to be intent upon committing political hari-kari, as the defection of two staunch conservatives, Mike Lee and Jerry Moran, ensured the death of the current legislative vehicle for reforming Obamacare in the Senate.  Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that his strategy will now shift to a straight repeal of Obamacare, with an ensuing effort to pass a bi-partisan reform bill.  Given that almost every Senate Republican already voted in favor of a straight repeal multiple times while Obama was in office, one might think they would easily do so again.  But one would be wrong in thinking that.  There is no more dangerous and faulty assumption to make than assuming intellectual consistency from DC establishment Republicans.  It’s going to be a long, hot summer.

Just another day in milquetoast Republicans America.

The Oil And Gas Situation – Confusion Reigns In The Energy Media

If you read the Dallas Morning News for information about the oil and gas industry, you’d be best advised to do more than just scan the headlines.  Here are two examples of headlines that just don’t really match the content of the articles:

Trump Won’t Declare Dallas Firm’s Dakota Access Pipeline A Major Disaster – Well, no, that’s not at all an accurate description.  The state of North Dakota’s governor – Doug Burgum – did not ask President Trump to declare the Dakota Access Pipeline to be a “major disaster”.

Governor Burgum did ask the President to declare the site of the months-long protest/riot action against the Dakota Access Pipeline to be a “major disaster” in an effort to seek federal help in footing the $38 million bill for policing the often-violent protesters and cleaning up the epic mess they left behind when they finally cleared their illegal site.  Given that it was the federal government, under Barack Obama, that allowed these rioters to illegally occupy the site for half a year, it would seem that the Governor had a valid complaint.  President Trump disagreed, which is his right.  Either way, it would have been nice for the headline writer to accurately portray the content of the article.
